Nice to meet you all.
I am a CM9 rom user with SII phone
I love this rom but one thing I want to have is a real time screen capture key...
before i am using checkrom, i can print screen by home+power...
but it seems that CM9 does not provide me a screen capture key?
anyone tell me how to custom a screen capture key?
thx....
Try VolDown + Home + Power
Works for me
You can also take one from the power menu (at your home screen hit the power button which brings up the power off/airplane mode/reboot/profile options).
Vol down + Power
Power + Home
Or you have to enable screen capture in settings then you will get screen capture option in power menu ( by holding power button)
Press Thanks if my post if un-helpfull !! So i should know i am still NoOb

Every instruction says to press Power+Vol Down and hold the Vol down until you see "Fastboot".
But its not true.
You power up with power button as normally and within 2-3 seconds just press the Vol Down key. It will show you the usual "Fastboot" text on your screen. There you can choose as usual with Vol Down key and select with Vol Up.
yeah ..that is true...
Yeah, but holding the volume down button ensures you don't miss that window, then have to go through another reboot cycle.
I think your point is kinda pointless really, but that's just my humble opinion!
i'm still going to press POWER+VOL DOWN together.
Just hold VOL-DOWN then press and release power. Release VOL-DOWN when fast boot appears. You don't have to hold power.
Actually, everything that has been said so far IS true... there is no wrong way to access the boot options whether you hold both the Power Button + Volume Down, Press Power Button then release + Press volume Down after 2-3 sec etc. all of these techniques will get you to the boot menu..
But I think, which is always dangerous, the reason they have said to hold both Power Button + Volume Down Button is because they avoided all the questions like;
when is the right time to press the Volume Down Button
Do I wait 2-3 sec after I press the Power Button
or Do I wait 2-3 sec after the Moto boot logo appears
Why can't I get this right
I tried searching for a way to get into the boot menu and it seems like I keep missing the 2-3 sec window period, can someone please explain to me the right way?
LoL

It's not working. When I hold on/off + volume down, the volume indicator run all the wat down and turned the phone to silent mode. I tried a few times but the same happen. I tried holding on/off + volume up and on/off + Home button too, but it doesn't help.

Press both buttons at the same time and hold for few seconds.
It has to work, else you are doing something wrong.

Alright, it work when I press both buttons at the same time. It's me that doing it wrong at first. So thanks to seljachina too.:good:
After a bad flash, I'm stuck at "htc One/beatsaudio" white screen, but unable to reboot in bootloader/recovery, even not power down...
Holding the power button a loooooooooooooong time makes softbuttons blinking, but nothing else happen...
Any idea?
Aaaaargh...finally solved...:victory:
I post "MY" solution, maybe it can help someone else (using the "search" functionality...)
Just press Power + Vol. Up + Vol. Down at the same time...:highfive:
The Other way: Press Power long time, until your phone gets off. After a second press and hold Vol. Down, press the power button and the phone starts in bootloader mode.

Thank you, but I was starting this thread because it wasn't possible anymore to use the normal way: Power button 10 sec. and Power + Vol. Down to get in bootloader mode...

I'm just wondering what the OFFICIAL WAY to boot into recovery is when the device is turned off...I've googled this question 15 times and ALWAYS come back with different answers....some say
1) Power + Home + Volume up
2) Volume Up + Power Button
3) Home + Power + Volume Up and when Samsung Logo appears let go of home but continue holding Volume up + power
4)Volume Up + Power but when you feel the phone vibrate let go of Power button and continue to hold volume up
5) Power down phone...turn it on holding power button and when you see Samsung Logo hold Volume Up
Even looking through threads on here gives a hundred different answers....Which way is the official way?
Thanks for the feedback/input

Well in my way just hold down the Volume up + Home + Power, then wait till the Samsung Logo and let go all of the buttons.
No need to press the home button on the GS4. Volume up+power until you see Samsung logo
If already rooted there is an app in play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot can press reboot straight into recovery

Thanks for that but I really was just wondering the way to do it when phone is powered off there's so many conflicting ways even the first two people who answered said two different things and every article i read is different
I do Vol UP + Home + Power until i see the Samsung screen. Point is whatever works for you is what you should do... simple. Tomato-Tomaado

Almost every way mentioned will work, there's no official way.
To me the easiest is (with power off) hold Volume up, press the power button and, when I feel the vibration, release the power button.
Whatever you prefer is YOUR "official way."

Hello @Vokko,
I put out the battery and waited about 2 days until it was empty but unfortunately it was not successful.
Iam still looking for a solution.
Have you tried holding the volume down button and the power button (keep both pressed, don't let power button go)?

If I connect with PC and hold volume down + power button I see "APX" in other devices.
Sorry, I forgot your model uses volume up + power button to access recovery. Unplug from computer, turn off then hold volume up and power button together (don't just press power briefly but keep it and volume buttons held down) to see if it enters recovery.
