I'm thinking of buying the new bb bold 9900, I just wanted to ask for opinions on switching from android to blackberry, is there any pros or cons? Thanks

I'm also thinking about blackberries, but what Android has to offer is just too good. Blackberry is going to be dead if RIM doesn't pull something out quick. I really like the form factor of them, but just that their OS is just crap compared to Android/iOS/Windows 7.

Why? Is there anything you can't do with Android?
Even if you don't tinker too much with os or use custom roms, you can do much more on Android.
1.Media Player ( with audio effects)
2.Office apps
3.Navigation
4.EMails
5. Social apps
6. Gaming
Everything that is required and much more is there.
On the other hand if you are bored with Android and don't want yourself to be tempted to flash roms again and again, you can buy a blackberry.
If you don't care about equalizers and audio effects, go for a windows
7 phone. Mango RTM (released to manufacturers) update is already available and official will be available after September 27.

I don't think anyone could have said it better
I had a Blackberry curve for about 4 days before I decided I hated it. I went back to the store and traded it for my P500h.
The blackberry is just simply a phone with some gadgets added to it and lots of messaging and email capability.
The android it just so much more than that. There are so many things which the blackberry comes short, like media playing, customization, games, file management, user modification, etc. It just seems silly to go back to something so rudimentary in comparison. But if all you want is a phone that does email, messaging, calling, and some music playing, get a blackberry. Or better yet, get a cheaper not so smart phone and get the same thing.
If you want an android phone with the look and feel of a blackberry you could get a motorola droid pro.

Bb in my country is style, but they use it just for bbm... very small people that use bb as smart phone in indonesia. And at last they know bb is not smart as android... lol..

The only pro of Blackberry over other smartphones is... the userbase.
Some people are already attached to their BBMs and with these people a lack of BBM will cost you socially or in business when you find yourself out of the loop. If you're faced with that situation, then you can say you need a Blackberry.
For other cases, with the same price you can get a much better phone running Android, Windows or even Symbian. Alternatively, get a cheap, old model Blackberry for BBM and another mid-range Android with custom ROM for everything else you want out of a Smartphone.

Along with the compass, accelerometer, altimeter, etc. it also has a breathalyzer in the lower microphone port. Mine nags me all day to go get a drink, until I get home and can slam a few to shut it up.
I use mint, It is a little odd how they do some of the transactions, but once you customize it with each month it gets better and better.
Mint.com is a really great resource. I have yet to find anything better.
The App isnt half bad either.
Yeah. I have been using it since 2007. It's very useful around tax time when you want to see how much certain deductions are (for instance, the DMV). The app was horrible before but it's nice to see how far they've come.

Not too far into it yet but so far its one of the best I've played on android device. The controls are good and graphics are nice too. When I bought it it was $3--TOTALLY worth it.

Yeah I get the same thing but still its an awesome game.
Has anyone been able to pair with a Wiimote? I don't see any options for it but the description says some Bluetooth wireless pads supported.
I emailed Google and rockstar about it being removed from market with this phone. **** them I flipped out, bad, really bad. I'm sick of just being one of the lucky ones that bought the game early. I purposely checked my phone every hr in the middle of the night when it got released. Only because when Gta 3 came out I had the eVo 3d than and if I didn't get Gta 3 within the first 12 hrs of it coming out I wouldn't have been able to get it at all unless I did a Lil search and downloaded a pirated copy. Now I have no problem downloading what I want when I want. Don't care about Warez, don't ****in care at all. I don't do it on xda nor will I ever. But I have no problem downloading something that I can't purchase cause I'm simply denied. Snes ROms, and playstation and all that, I don't consider that stealing at all cause the roms are not available for download for use in emulators. If they were I would buy them to support the devs, like I am more than happy to support rockstar. But if Google or Sony or rockstar or any other digital/electronic company try to **** me like this, I'll just **** you right back.
Well anyways sorry for the rant but the point is I let both companies know this is ridiculous. The game runs flawlessly on this phone with the graphics maxed out, no reason to deny us. I wont send U my apk, so don't ask, but just Google it. **** them, they are practically asking you to steal it but not making it available for no reason. I paid for my ****, so when their is an update for Max Payne and I can't update for this same reason, I'll be doing be doing same thing and googling it.

The point that they should be understanding is not everyone is a tech dork like here in xda, (me especially) and most people will never know anything like that. It just makes something else to maintain.

I have been playing that game for about a week now,the graphics are amazing on the lte, seems like 50-60fps.although I do get the usuall static when in the cut scenes,at first I thought I blew my brand spankin New lte speaker. The gameplay is actually addicting for me anyways.
I downloaded max payne and i hate the game the graphics are horrible i suggest if you like that style of game download gamelot 9mm ,it's almost the same concept but with better controls and graphics plus the story ain't that bad either.

Lol, I know all about these phones and I live on xda basically. And yeah ya do have to be tech savvy to do all this. It's actually a lot of work to keep up with how fast things move on xdaand with these phones. I have no problem changing the build prop, but expecting normal people to is ridiculous. Trust me my cousin isn't stupid, but he also isn't a dork. Normal people barely know their way around a file explorer. The majority of the public still don't even understand how to get music on their phone. I know I know, I too think it is retardedly easy to copy n paste music but look at all the stupid questions noobs ask on xda. Pretty much every stupid question I see on here I restrain myself from typing please learn how to ****in search n read.
And don't come at me like I'm one of these tarts, I'm just sticking up for some of the less tech savvy. I wasn't flipping out on anyone here. I let the appropriate parties aware that it is a joke to keep blocking devices after people have paid their own money for said app and that it runs perfectly fine.
And this game runs great, especially with a ps3 controller.

I think adobe is stupid for not supporting it anymore. Yes, html5 may be the future, but it's not the present. Chrome works for most stuff on my phone, but almost any video that I come across on any tech site or anything else I still find myself copying the link to the stock browser to watch it. It's just stupid when so much of the web still relies on flash. I have no problem with it being phased out, but they're crippling mobile browsing by not supporting mobile anymore. As soon as the next update for desktop flash comes, mobile browsing will suck until html5 is the universal standard, which it currently is nowhere near being. At least with tab syncing between mobile and desktop chrome I'll be able to find anything I need easily on my laptop, but it's still going to be a hassle. Stupid adobe, just stupid.
Back on topic, I'm excited for JB to come to the Note. I'm highly tempted to shell out 350 for a gsm gnex, but I'm sure our awesome devs will have something awesome soon enough. Until then, I'm fully satisfied with what we have already...couldn't ask for more.

Yeah, about the only thing holding me back from buying the gnex is how awesome the note is, and the fact it's likely the next nexus will be out within a year, and my note is definitely more than good enough to tide me over. I just hope Samsung wins the bid for the next one. If they do, I'll be buying the next nexus for sure as well as the note 2. What we really need is the nexus note though, I would throw my wallet and my left nut along with a contact for my firstborn child at google/Samsung for that =]. I just can't quite justify spending 350 on software, with lesser hardware, that we will eventually see for free. If not sooner rather than later.

I have to agree. I've tweaked things about as much as I could without making too many sacrifices, but that doesn't change the facts. That doesn't mean the device still isn't useful, but it's no longer state of the art and the advances Google has made to Android leave it in the dust.
I've had to push back my upgrade plans, but the first thing I intend on doing when I get my Nexus 5 is to work on taking the best parts of Traveller DSC and working them into Kitkat.
Yeah see for a older senior citizen I think it might be good on a 3G Unlimited Talk and Text Plan through Wal-Mart Family Mobile needing a phone with a bigger screen. Should do good for her. Just use a few app's over Wi-Fi like QVC, CVS, Wal-Mart, Bank of America etc
