If you're rooted, you could try "Rescan Media Root" (free at Market / Play). It can enable / disable easily this function with the press of a button.
Hope it helps.

Thank you andre ! It realy works and im gratful to you

Thanku 4 ur reply !! well then I am bound to use nothing except poweramp.
you can try MIUI or Winamp, they are good.Winamp has a lot features than you can imagine.
you can also try this new player: Mufin Player

music player that only scans selected folder

is there any music player that doesn't automatically scan all the sd card?
i listen to audiobooks on my phone too and currently using winamp but it lists all the audiobook files as well as the my music tracks which is a bit annoying. tried stock player which has the same behaviour.

why don't you set folder view in winamp...you can select sibgle folder to play
Power Amp. You can select the folder for your mp3 and it will scan only them.

There are other options too.
MIXZING for example it has both the functions that you need.scan a particular folder as well as play by folder.
U can give it a try but nothing beats power amp.using it from a long time.if you can afford it just go for it.
Edit: mixzing is free

unfortunately i can't afford poweramp but I'll give mixzing a try, thanks

i emailed the clean music player dev about it not being able to play flac files received a reply within a day informing me that he is working on it. huge respect to that, looks like it won't be long til clean music player will be my player of choice.

Problem with music on omega Rom.

Hi all,
Wondering if I could get some help please. I am having problems with my music on omega's Rom. I use the stock music app to play music across to my cars headunit but sometimes the app is unable to find all my music.
I have tried places the mp3s into the /media/music folder and also into the /music folder. It will find music that is in the downloads folder and will find system sounds but not the large collection I have placed on the internal memory.
Now this is not always the case as I have had the music app find all the music in the past but I have no idea what I am changing to lose them this time. Any ideas?
Also is there a way of stopping the stock app from finding all the system sounds or only reading from one directory so as to find only my music collection?
Cheers in advance.
