Urgent Help please!
On this root tutorial http://www.broodplank.net/rootsamsungi9001.php you can download a ABD file. That file should contain a "RebootRecovery.bat" file. When your phone is connected to your pc it should help you get into recovery mode.
Did you wait long enough while flashing? Odin says "closing com port" (or something like that) when it's done.

Just download any other odin downloader for your mobile , this should pretty much end the problem
if not use different usb port, your problem will be solved.

When you say "volume up" are you using the volume up as it would be if it was in portrait? If your holding in landscape, the "volume up" is the left one (closest to the headset speaker)

if I hold it in landscape on my Dell streak the volume up is on the right so your saying if in landscape I should use the volume down on mine the one closer to the headphone Jack? I think I have tried both ways but ill do it again....
Oh ya sorry I didn't get back to you guys I got it working the next day love 2.2 on this beast.... I still like SlideIT better then swype on this and the problem I think was a Dell file I had to open and it did a little black pop window and it was done in a second then when I did everything before it work... After all was ready and going it took about five minutes for streak to load.... Thanks and 2.2 is sick
QDL tool issues?
I have been trying for a month to upgrade, and I am just missing something. I have my device rooted and have tried the QDL tool, it gets about half way through the process and fails. I don't recall everything I have done, as I have tried a dozen times.
I rooted the device.
I downloaded some drivers and installed them.
I downloaded the QDL tool
Did you go from At&t 1.6 to O2 1.6 first (that I have not done).
A step by step would be wonderful.
I get this:

Don't be too worried, it took me 5 days to figure out the streak.. it has crazy ****..
use streakdroid.com
follow step by step! you don't have to use streakdroid, but follow tut all the way through QDL. try different usb port, that was my problem..
and make sure you ahve the correct drivers... Also ran into that.
Change to a different USB plug, that worked for me.
Phone not booting into Fastboot. Will QDL help.
Hey All,
I searched for my problem in many places, no go.
No one talking about Streak not going into Fastboot mode.
Here's what happened...
I was trying to install GingerStreak 2.4.4 from GingerStreak 2.4.3.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1333010
According to the instructions, I flashed
amss.mbn - http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/amss.mbn
and
dsp1.mbn - http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/dsp1.mbn
(got both the files from the first link above)
Then when I tried to reboot into Bootloader (Power+Vol Up+Vol Down) but nothing happens apart from the Dell logo being displayed.
I try to boot normally, still stuck at the Dell logo. The phone never even reaches the boot animation.
I try to go boot into fastboot (power+camera key)mode, but the phone never even boots. The screen stays off, so do the LED lights.
I figured out that the files downloaded above were incomplete(due to slow speed Chrome showed incomplete files as download complete).
amss downloaded: 111KB. Actual Size: 15.41MB
DSP1 Downloaded: 250KB. Actual Size: 8.94MB
So, I flashed the wrong files.
Now, I guess, the phone is bricked big time.
I need big time to get into fastboot mode (to flash the correct files) or anyhow get my phone working.
I need to know if QDL tool will help me sort this out. It is currently downloading. If I get the answer, will post back.
Guys, need help. Please help me out and get this issue sorted out.
Stuck at DELL boot logo.
I mistakenly flashed another file when i was FastbootMode , now my streak is unable to boot and stuck at DELL logo and the capacitive buttons are light when i turn the device on. Can not access the fastboot mode at all.
What steps should i take , to make it alive again ?
when i take the cover off , it still stay at bootlogo until i take off the battery
What does this mean, shouldn't it be automatic?
What am i missing ? (the right adb driver ??)
I did install the drivers form dell ftp://ftp.dell.com/Handheld/R288920.exe
It makes a reboot attempt , shows the battery % changed and then shuts off.

Can anyone show me how to install the RIGHT adb driver , i am searching but to no avail so far.
Tried several adb installation, but i dont see the ADB composite on my Device Manager, btw i am running windows XP SP3.
Any help or right info is very much appreciated as this device is not dead at all , just needs the right procedure , which i am trying to find but i need some help on the right directions.
Thank you
Solved !!!
Problem solved !!!
As it is impossible to brick the Streak by just uploading software to it, i found out that all the problem was caused by my USB port and the outdates drivers i was installing on my Windows XP installation.
I found out and downloaded the old QDL 2.7.4.5, streakflash.zip was the name of the package, then i had access to FASTBOOT and recovery menu, the rest was easy then.
Installed the recovery.img that goes with 406 Olleh, then updated to 406 to be sure all the other mbn files were updated as well, then installed StreakMod and finally the DSC 0.6b and last 0.62b http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314898
Amassing resource of info here
Hell no... the streak is in fact capable of a true brick by uploading software to (mine died 2 days ago) and it doesn't seem to have a solution (with practicaly no help from the experts here)

And what did you do , exactly that you consider it a brick now (i highly doubt it thou).
I saw your problem , tell me how to get the image you need from my Streak and i will upload it somewhere so you can try , btw it is up to you to tell me whats needed as i don't know, i am just willing to help you if i can.

That's because Fastboot -w or Fastboot -erase is pretty much a death sentence for any Streak and the enthusiasts (NOT experts) here know that. The members here also know to carefully read information before attempting to do anything to their devices.
@abauer: What ThisisZAK did does in fact turn the Streak into a virtually unrecoverable brick that not even the QDL tool can fix. He didn't help his cause by not paying close attention to the advice given, which was to unformat the MicroSD. He ended up formatting it, which is why he's looking for an image file so he can flash the image onto the MicroSD and restore his Streak.
If you can help him, that's great. You'll need to take your Streak apart, get the MicroSD from its slot, and image the drive using a program like DriveImage XML.
I have created an image of my inner SD Card right after a factory reset.
Download Here
I created this using Clonezilla, you should be able to use Clonezilla to restore it. It is an image of the entire sd card. You need to unzip the downloaded file to use it.
Note: I am running DSC_Rom, which is Gingerbread based. I don't think it makes a difference.
Edit: I did restore this image to another 2 GB Sd Card and my Streak booted fine.
I dont believe it should. All innerSD partitions have always been ext3 while all nand partitions are yaffs2 (though i believe GB can remount system as ext4 or something, I dont really understand how that works)
with the inner sd card been an ext its linux so its accessible but i am yet to play with it really
Hello,
I wonder if anyone might be able to assist with a problem I am having. I bought a phone sight unseen - I know it's a mistake and I have probably lost money (can't return it) but perhaps it can be recovered/made to work. It says it is a Samsung GT-I5500 under the battery cover.
When I power on the phone, I get the Samsung logo/URL, then the screen says GT-I5500L (not sure why "L" as it is not in the normal model name). Then... basically nothing. Sometimes it works to power off again if I hold in the power button, sometimes not.
I've tried to do a hard reset by holding in vol up, vol down, and power on / hang up at the same time, but it either still goes to the GT-I5500L screen or simply stays at the Samsung screen.
Also tried vol down, middle button, and power on / hang up, with no difference.
I tried installing Kies but I don't think I have the right driver for the phone (Windows 7 can't seem to install a driver). I did install Samsung_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1_3_2200_0.exe but that didn't help in that respect.
I don't really have a preference for whether I'd use a custom/third party ROM vs. stock ROM long term, but I can't seem to get to a point where I would even change the ROM.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Update...
I just tried again after letting the phone charge a while (looks like the battery was almost empty or all empty when I got it). I tried doing vol down + middle button + power. I got the triangle/Downloading,... screen. I think that's good! Now to research further.
(I loaded up Odin but found it very confusing)
Most recent update...

Well, okay, I can't put in the link...
I used the I5500LUYJP2 rar file.

However it still won't boot! Just goes back to GT-I5500L.
I tried a hard reset by powering on with vol down + vol up + power but it still went to GT-I5500L.
Another update...
I've been able to use Clockwork Mod via Odin. I can wipe the cache and the davlic cache (I think that's what it's called) though when I try to format /data / do a factory reset it just hangs.
Tried flashing/updating a few ROMs now with nothing that will boot fully yet.
Summary of what works and doesn't work:
Works:
- Going into download mode
- Flashing ROMs via Odin
- Using CWM to apply zip files from SD card
Doesn't work:
- Using CWM to wipe data/factory restore (hangs)
- Any of the ROMs I have tried to use won't fully boot. Includes update-cm-7.1.0-MADTEAM-v1.6-signed, update-cm-7.2.0-RC0-galaxy5-v1.9-MADTEAM-signed, I5500LAROJP2. They get to a point where they either go into a reboot loop or just don't progress to an actual operating system.
Any input is appreciated!
It is clear that there is something wrong in some partition.
If it hangs at data wipe it may be data, cache or sd-ext.
Try removing sdcard.
If it don't help try getting logcat from phone while it is booting maybe we can see which error it is.

Hi , my problem is while for my wrong with disk part of Win 7 have clean the disk of the z5s and erase all partitions of it and now the scree is always black. I dug out my old trusty SGS2 to install CM13, the last time I used it was at the time of CM10.
I familiarized myself with the tutorials, and realized I have to re-partition the phone first, which requires TWRP. I downloaded the latest TWRP for the i9100 (3.0.2) and the Heimdall suite. Steps I took until failure:
1. Disable driver signature enforcement (I'm on W10)
2. Boot into download mode
3. Use zadig to replace the driver to libusb0
4. Use Heimdall to download the PIT file
5. Doesn't work - it gives me

My laptop only has USB3 ports, I tried all of them. The cable is fine, I tried another good one which also didn't change anything. I'm not sure if I miss some crucial step or doing something wrong, as I haven't touched the device in years and am not very familiar with flashing it. I'm just looking for the 'easiest' way to get to CM13.
Appreciate any help!
Hi,
To re-partition try either this guide if you want to flash a pit-file with odin. Note you will also need to flash a kernel in .tar format to give you a working recovery.
OR try this tool to re-partition with recovery and to save your data(if you want to)
Basically the two steps you need to do are -
1. Re-partition (1GB is a good size) This doesn't require any particular recovery unless you use Lanchons re-pit tool
2. Make sure you have a recovery capable of flashing CM13(CWM 6.0.4.5+ or TWRP 2.7+) If you use open gapps, you will need to use TWRP
Once you are ready to flash CM13, make sure you flash a isorec recovery straight after. This only needs to be done once.
I had the error ERROR: Claiming interface failed! too. Then I tried different cables/USB port combinations and now I'm not getting that error anymore.
However I'm getting ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12 now
Tried with Heimdall, followed this guide:
. Download HeimdallSuite & Samsung USB Drivers
. Install Samsung USB Drivers
. Connect the phone in Download mode (Vol. Down + Home + Power)
. Go to Heimdall Suite/Drivers & open 'zadig' (Run in admin mode)
. Select 'List All Devices' under 'Options'
. Select 'Gadget Serial' & 'libusb0 (v1.2.5.0)' from the drop menu & scroll menu respectively
. Click on Install/Replace Driver
. Close 'zadig'
. Reboot again into Download mode
. Open 'heimdall-frontend'
. Select 'Utilities' tab & click on 'Detect' under 'Detect Device' option
. Make sure the 'Output' window says 'Device Detected'
. Scroll down to 'Download PIT' section & click on 'Save As...' under 'Destination File'
. Type any name under 'Name:' and select 'Save'. Do not give any filename extensions
. Click on 'Download'
Click to collapse
EDIT: After a few hours of trying different things, I managed to connect with Odin3 v3.07 and I think it worked after going into device manager, then clicking on the your pc name > libusb0 somthing and right clicking, then check for updates. After that my device appeared under USB-controllers > Samsung Mobile USB CDC ......
EDIT2: I did not try to install TWRP though, instead I did this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ivatives/mod-increase-partition-size-t3011162
