[VIDEO] TWRP 2 and Goo Manager Tutorial & Review - TouchPad General

TWRP has been reborn!
Teamwin has redone TWRP and released a new version with all sorts of new features.
TWRP 2.1, along with Goo Manager from the Android Play Store (Market) will give you the perfect combination of apps to keep your device up to date with current ROMs and GAPPS.
Be sure to visit http://www.teamw.in for more info!

I followed your tutorial video and everything works fine.
I also did an incremental update today, pretty sweet.
Thanks for your videos and thanks to the devs for all their hard work.

Great video. I'd been using Goo Manager for a while but you still showed me some new stuff. Quick question though, I may have misheard you but did you say that the official nighlies cannot be obtained through the app? Because I thought that "nightly" was the official one.

Excellent question. No, the OFFICIAL CM9 Nightlies are not hosted on the Goo servers, therefore they are NOT the Nightlies you see in Goo Manager. Those are UNOFFICIAL. I had to ask the same question of the Teamwin group.

It would be awesome if there were incremental downloads that didn't format the /system partition. Downloading the entire ROM and having to flash gApps everytime seems a little hectic to me

How do you remove a custom theme from TWRP 2.0 ?
"Note: If you have a custom theme installed from 2.0 or 2.1.0, your theme will need to be updated to see the new features. It is recommended that you remove your custom theme before installing 2.1.1"
EDIT: I C. Just delete the zip in sdcard/TWRP/theme

[Working Perfectly!] MultiROM for E-970/E-973!

Link has been updated for the Modified TWRP. Now installing 2nd rom is breeze. External SD card is now supported..Works in E-973 Canadian Edition
Yipee..
How many of you like the Stock Rom from LG? I know..It is most of you. Me too. But the fact is I am also unable to live w/o the KITKAT! This has resulted numerous times of installing roms, losing important call logs/messages, and a lot of weird things that I dislike! These days are past, and I now use MultiROM to taste every new flavour I like!! I don't have to back up and restore the factory rom now!
I am sharing it to you too. Please let me know if you encounter any bugs.
Statutory Warning: It is your phone. Do not blame me for anything. I am not responsible for any harm you do to your device.
Thanks to all who are linked with MultiROM!
Now the detailed steps:
1. Install TWRP-2.6.3.0_For_KitKat
2. Backup your rom(in my case it is the stock one) with TWRP.
3. Install Carbon Rom as the primary rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52327519&postcount=217) I have not tried with other roms. But this rom comes with a kernel with kexec hardboot patch.
DU also works! Thanks to @Buscador
4. Install TWRP_2.7.0_MR_geeb
5. Now Install multirom_v22_UNOFFICIAL_geeb
6. Now Install any rom you like as your secondary rom. Reboot in Recovery --> Advanced -> MultiROM to install your rom. You can also select the backup that you performed in step 2.
The updated TWRP version supports ext SDCard. That means you can select the zip from SD card. Installing secondary rom in the extSD is not supported because of the slowness. In recovery go to Mount --> check external_sd to mount the externalSD card. Can any of you let me know if usb otg works in this recovery?
Working perfectly for E-973 Canadian version. Thanks to @Aceangel21 for confirming.:good:

Thanks so much. Got it to work with latest Carbon and I have MIUI on as the secondary ROM. Everything looks like its working, will report if there is anything amiss.
It works. I installed PA as my internal, and used the aktest kernel in the carbon thread. Then I was able to use miui as a secondary. So far so good

I installed Carbon as the internal ROM and then Mokee. I can boot to the internal ROM just fine but with Mokee I just get a brief flash of light every few seconds, and it never boots.
Edit: I reinstalled Mokee using the "Don't share" option for the kernel, and it booted. I have not been using it long enough to determine if it is stable.

That's great. We should not be sharing kernel. You can multiboot n number of roms literally. It seems I am moving to a stable stage with this. I will also be uploading the TWRP now with working sdcard support! Enjoy!
FireFox OS boots up!
You can now try firefox OS via multirom! It boots up. Camera is not working as of now. While installing, select the option "Share Kernel" in multirom. Download the latest FFOS build from Nexus 4 forum. Change the updater script to suit with geeb.
Mahdi also works--still using Carbon as the internal ROM.

Dirty Unicorns (the version built by mathsz) works as the internal ROM, and his XenonHD build works as a secondary ROM. Presumably, Dirty Unicorns also works as a secondary ROM.
Working perfectly for LG Optimus G E-973 Canadian Edition! Thanks a lot OP!
Axxion (with a Geeb MOD kernel) also works for both the internal and external ROM.
How do you uninstall multi-ROM?

Thanks for your time testing multirom with different roms. Regarding uninstalling this one, still I have not prepared a script. Actually I am busy configuring out the stock kk rom from Korean version to our device. Whenever I get some free time I will create and upload the zip for uninstalling multirom. Once again thanks for your effort.

Hey, the multirom_v22_UNOFFICIAL_geeb.zip link in the OP is down because of all the traffic from your KitKat ROM. Could you upload the multirom file to another site please?

Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIvWVS_Rkxo
Full TeamWin credits are on the TWRP page on the TeamWin website: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2
Introduction:
Team Win Recovery Project or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Key Features:
Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
Onscreen keyboard
Decryption of /data
Easy selection of internal/external storage
See changelog below for new features
In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe cache & dalvik, and run a backup.
We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

Um try READING the op.
I'm a little late to the party, but I've gotten my hands on an YP-G70. I tried installing TWRP on it, but CWM complaints about it being the wrong version. I couldn't see any different versions of it...I've also tried flashing it with Rashr flash tool, but that one also says it's not a valid recovery.
Any hints as to what I can do next?
I have been attempting to install CM12 / Carbon 5.1.1. I have worked my way up from GB to CM 11 / Carbon KK 4.4.4 then I get stuck.
After installing on reboot I get an initial Nutella logo for a few seconds and then the screen goes black (although you can tell it is still backlit) and then nothing. Left it for a couple of hours just in case it required a long install time... nothing. I can get it into this rudimentary recovery fwiw.
So came across this, Is it still mandatory to install TWRP 2.8.0.0? If so could someone kindly upload or add a new link please. Most are to Mega which is now kaput.
I tried installing from Slim 4.4.2 ( Beanstock is also on Mega but it only has TWRP 2.6.5) as suggested somewhere but no go either.
Thanks for breathing life back into my Player 5, I am eager to try Lollipop on it.
Thanks in advance.
How do I install it? I am on stock firmware, do I need a custom firmware first?

is it only working as primary via multiRom recovery?
I installed it as secondary and it failed to boot.
Google+ still missing for me here
Just finished booting.
Root is no-go for me (says binaries not installed despite having installed supersu zip).
Gonna see if I can tinker around with it to make it work, but for now no root for me.

That is an affirmative.
Also after you install it as primary, you'll need to install a kexec kernel to be able to boot to your other (now secondary) rom.
ElementalX 3.00 should work fine for that.

I flashed my deb to stock 4.4.4, installed twrp, followed all instructions in op, and I cannot root. Thus I second another user's experience with root not working/SuperSU saying there are no binaries installed. I did install the supersu zip in twrp.
Also can't install Google+ neither from Market nor APK.

Introduction:
MoKee OpenSource is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the users’ habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives.
Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee OpenSource. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.
Flashing Guide:
1. Install custom recovery
2. Copy custom ROM zip file to sd-card (not internal)
3. Boot into recovery mode
4. Now from recovery menu select backup
5. Take backup (previous stable)
6. Now select wipe
7. Advance wipe & select system, data, dalvik cache, cache
8. Now wipe it
9. Select install & select custom rom zip
10. Clear cache & dalvik cache
11. Now install gapps
12. After installing gapps, wipe cache & dalvik cache
13. Reboot
14. That's all folk's, enjoy custom ROM

Can you tell me if the LP-Version is already 100% stable or should I better go for the History KK Version?

Hello guys, i have some questions about MoKee! Can someone tell me what's the differences with cyanogen mod 12.1? Does MoKee have some special features like power saving or something?I searched the xda and web but i didnt find what i was looking. It's my first time with MoKee.Thanx guys for your help!
Tried flashing todays ota (not flashed an ota before as just installed rom) and it failed saying unexpected contents in su
This maybe because I updated the su binary and busybox
I'll try removing the check from the updater script
update
just as I thought - I removed the checks for su and busybox and the patching lines for these files from the updater script and the ota flashed successfully

Battery life is very good and the UI is smooth - not had any problems with it
Has a good ota updater too but just remember not to change files in system or it may break the ota update

its pretty much stock lollipop in terms of look but with the ability to add themes and change status bar things like battery clock etc
Battery life is very good and the UI is smooth - not had any problems with it
Has a good ota updater too but just remember not to change files in system or it may break the ota update

Ok thank you!
Hi,
the gapps download is bloked from firefox and chrome because of malicious filecontent.

CyanogenMod 11 [UNOFFICIAL] for i9100 with Stagefright Fix

For all those who aren't yet ready to upgrade to Lollipop but would like to close this vulnerability on their device, I have built the latest CM11 source as of 9/1/15 (since CM11 nightlies for this device are no longer released for download). This build is unofficial but I have not modified it in any way**. It includes all StageFright fixes that the CM development team has implemented.
All required downloads are located here.
Works well as a daily driver with Lanchon's i777 Crossflash Kernel on my device (i777/S959G) but is untested on an i9100 (please report your success/failure).
Installation instructions can be found on CM's website or on Lanchon's kernel thread (above).
I recommend wiping cache/system/data prior to flashing (dirty flash with only a cache wipe did not work on my device when upgrading from the last public nightly).
Good luck!
** I did manually modify the updater-script to allow this ROM to be flashed on any device (because i9100 ROMs refuse to flash on the i777/S959G). Flashing this ROM on anything other than an i9100/i777/S959G WILL brick your device.

Clean according to these two apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zimperium.stagefrightdetector
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.stagefrightdetector
Is there an app that detects SF2?
Yes, I believe that SF2 is fixed based on this article which references this AOSP patch which was merged into CM11 13 days ago (I built this ROM about a week after). I'll rebuild it tonight and update my post just to be sure.

Fresh build uploaded into the first post. Let me know if it works.
Not yet tested. Im on holiday. But thank you for this!
I have 3 days with this rom, it seems to me a solid built, reliable for daily use. Testing stagefright vulnerability I've got inconclusive results:
Not vulnerable testing with Stagefright Detector by Lookout and with Stagefright Detector by Zimperium
Vulnerable testing with Stagefright Detector by ESET and Stagefright Scan by Trustlook.
I will continue to use this rom , that overall it works well , as long as I will not have any inconvenience ! Thank you!
Wow thanks! Can you compile this fix for omni 4.4.4 final @dimoochka

Would love to if I can find the time - need to set up a build environment for Omni. I'll put it on my to do list but don't hold your breath!
I used your rom for 2 days. It is solid. No vulnerability. But there's something wrong about video codecs
Not sure what you're referring to. It's just a stock CM11 nightly without modifications - basically the same as you would get from download.cyanogenmod.org (just updated with latest code additions obviously).

For the S2, you need xposed-v80-sdk-22-arm.zip

Oh woops, sorry - get rid of the Xposed you just installed (didn't realize you were on kk). You can use the xposed uninstaller .zip in the download link I mentioned earlier. For kitkat, you should install Xposed directly through the app (in the Framework section).
This ROM is stock Cyanogenmod. Along with Lanchon's TRIM kernel, it should perform better than the stock firmware that this phone comes with. However, it is probably not substantially better than other KitKat ROMs out there (like Omni, AOKP, etc.)

Are there any changes from december version to the one you built in september? I use 4.4.4 but I thought development on that version had stagnated.
