here are some apps i pulled from the optimus 3d rom dump. there are a couple 3d games and the awesome 3d gallery. I dont know if any of these work, since im not getting mine till Friday but it would be nice if someone can test them for me so I can get started on porting them over. hopefully I can get it done over the weekend

None of these apps are currently working and won't work till we have root and the games probably never will work as they are compiled for the powervr chipset of the optimus

Hey guys.. just got my EVO 3D today... does anyone know how to get to the 3D youtube?.. is it working yet?.. i dont even have the option to switch youtube to 3D... atleast not that i know of... thanks in advance for the help.

I tried but none seen to want to install onto my phone.
The 3d YouTube comes preloaded.. search yt3d to get a bunch of 3d formatted videos

The version on the EVO 3D is YouTube 2.1.7 which enables 3D support on mobile and is newer than the YouTube 2.1.6 that is in the market.
I could watch 3d on YouTube before, but now all I see is split screen movies in 2d....ideas??

Google Talk on Viper ROM has video chat included. I tried it earlier today...

gchat video is included in the CleanRom 2.0 - works great!
its pretty much in every rom now. i haven't had a rom without it i don't think.
I'm running stock 2.3.4 and video chat is running fine

I'm not sure! I haven't downloaded or tweaked anything. It is just there. Wonder if it is a CDMA vs GSM thing, cause I'm in Canada, not the US. Are you guys Sprint?

I would! But I'm not rooted, nor do I plan to root until there is a guaranteed way for me to safely do it.
That's one advantage that you CDMA folks have over those of us with GSM.

Revolutionary 0.4pre4 worked fine for me. I've been happily running Titanium Backup on my rooted Roger EVO 3D for the past week or so.

Oddly enough, I can't seem to get HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe to install on my PC, so I'm kind of stuck at the moment!
Sorry to go off topic, but I don't want you CDMA folk to think I'm being greedy and not sharing the love of my video chat!
If I ever get it working, I'll do what I can to get you the .apk
And @VenpaCasa, I haven't used either of the video chats you mention, so I can't really comment on quality differences!

do you have titanium backup? cause you can turn off the auto market update for the market.
Already included in the rom I'm using. But I must say, it sucks. This new android market is not as good as the old one. I always have to clear the cache with this new one.
The damned search function STILL doesn't work outside of the Market App. WTF Google?

sorry lee my pc blew up and am only just getting back online. i am on stock rom/kernel.

I flashed a Sense 4.0 ROM and found a great Car Mode application built in.
However, I decided to go back to a Sense 3.6 ROM since it's much more stable.
I know the Sense 3.6 ROM has a car mode built in but only with a special car dock.
So, my question is, does anyone know how to install the APKs from the Sense 4.0 ROM to a 3.6 ROM? I have already extracted them, but when I launch them on my phone and press install, it tells me "Application not installed."
Any ideas?

Yeah, there's about 3 threads about this, but all have died. So I remade one with all the sources.
Hopefully someone will help..
However, I have 2 more ideas to fix this.
If I'm correct you need to place the files in system/apps but then that might still not work since the apks are for sense 4.0

Did you try to fix the permissions? They usually need to be rw-r--r--. It's a long shot since Sense 4.0 apps tend not to just work out of the box with sense 3.6 ones.

Place the apks in system/apps and then fixing the permissions of each app like coal says here. Then reboot to see if it works or not.
Did it for all three and rebooted. Same error.

Damn. They got it specific to Sense 4 then. Same reason any Sense apk wont work on other roms. Off the top of my head I cant think of a way to mod them to work but Im too tired to think though either. Ill look more into this.

Everyone is hitting the compatibility issue with apps they want from 4.0. It might not happen.
Soon we might all be on 4.0 anyway.

Check system/lib of the sense 4 rom you pulled the apks from, you may be missing some libraries needed to run those apps
