Help thread taken over by GPS Dongle! - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Looks like this entire section has been taken over by the GPS Dongle issue. I can't help it. I can't see the need for just another part to carry along with you after you've spent $500 already for a good tablet. Must just be me.

And look it... you just added to the clutter.
Please post dongle questions/concerns/discussions here:

Rules for Development

So, you want to post in development? Ask yourself this:
Is what I am going to post a question?
If so, this is not the right place to post a new thread. Instead, use the SEARCH function to find a thread about your question. If that's not available, post your question in General.
Am I developing something and want to share it?
If this is the case, Please do! This is the correct forum and you are free to post your ROM/App/Game/Etc, if it is compliant with the next rule:
Is what I am sharing publicly available (free)?
So, no registration needed to download, but more importantly, no charges. If you want to earn money with a ROM/App/Game/Etc. you can, but also put up a free version. We call paid versions like this: "donation" version.
Did I brush my teeth this morning?
Seriously, check that.
All posts that are NOT about ROM development, or development in general will be closed or deleted.
This list may get longer as we progress, but for now, happy posting. Oh, and if you find anything abusive or not following the rules, use the report function in the post.
Thanks!

Nook Color/Tablet "extended USB" pinout?

Nook Tablet is known to have "extended USB" connector with bunch of extra pins in addition to standard microUSB's 5, and it seems it is the same (at least mechanically) as on Nook Color. Unfortunately, I wasn't able more specific information about the connect than this thread, and Novaports teardown picture which clearly (well, blurily) shows 17 pins, half of them apparently connected to something more interesting than power and ground.
So, is there updated information on this matter? I know folks here made hardware mods while cracking open the Tablet, so I don't believe it could escape their scrutiny. I don't suppose there's UART in there, but well, who knows, maybe charging LED is controlled by full-fledged GPIO for example ;-)
Hello , please read the rules before posting
Thread Locked/Deleted - This Is A Development Section, Not Q&A -READ BEFORE POSTING-
I agree about putting it in the right forum, but this could lead to some interesting development. I would like to know what the pinout is as well. I tried finding out what the pinout was for the evo shift some time back. I had an idea for a dock/case combo that would allow full use of the physical keyboard as well as docking inside a vehicle. I had no luck with finding the pinout, so that idea went into the scrap pile.
I hope a mod simply moves this to the right thread instead of locking or deleting it.

This. It's starting to get annoying with all of these "mods" that aren't actually mods.
I'm sorry if this was wrong place to post this, but this is indeed more of a development question, not a random newbie's one. I did my homework, but didn't find anything regarding Nook Tablet, so figured this is a worthy topic for device enablement, and I collected initial information and links to objective info in the first message.
My second idea was to catch attention of AdamOutler and other experienced developers.
Again, I'm sorry if with all this motivation it was still wrong to post here. And I understand the mods - XDA-Developers is a huge place, so without keeping it organized it would be havoc. But I hope there's difference between "How do I install Angry Birds?"/"How to replace back cover?" and "Let's collect all info on specific device enablement feature in one visible and easily found thread in the forum where interested people will likely look for it".
Just because it can lead to development doesn't mean it is. You can always ask a MOD to move it when it is appropriate.
If you don't like people stating the rules and asking you to follow them, then I would advise you follow them. You don't have to be a mod to ask people to do so.
There is a Q&A section now that is for people's questions.

The development section is not for questions, even if they are Dev related. Please post in the Q&A section. It is not my job to move threads around, you should post in the correct section.
Please dont get into a argument over the legitimacy of a threads location. Just use the report button and a moderator will act accordingly

Broken digitizer users need help! (from smart people here ;) )

Howdy all,
As we all know the TF201 is a delicate beast with it's share of problems. Shuts down randomly, wifi, gps, shoddy performance and manufacture, and horrid support.
One problem faced by a lot of owners is the easily busted digitizer. It's straightforward to replace and many have done it, but are plagued by ****ty digitizers from China who sell them like crack to addicts and don't give a whistling turdburger that the x-axis is screwed.
Would anyone here be willing to point me in the right direction to compile a new driver to fix this issue with the digitizer? It would be phenomenal if someone could...digitizers are relatively cheap these days and getting more so.
**I do know that asking for things from the dev brains around here is frowned on, but this is an ongoing issue for all users and can affect anyone at any time. By someone with more brains than the rest of us figuring this out the driver could be used in future releases to alleviate this problem
I asked for this thread to be moved.
Obviously the users in this particular forum are unfamiliar with the "Do not post in the development section" rule.
Unless you created or ported and have a end product you should NOT ever create a thread in the development section.
This is been an every day occurance and you should have posted this in a different section. If it's a question, Q&A. Any thing else, General.
Got it? Good.
Found the part where it says if it can be quoted as a question then it shouldn't be posted here. After checking a half dozen posts.
Instead of being a rude about it try being a bit more polite. "Hey man, can you delete this and move it to X part of the forums? Rules here XXX... say not to post that stuff here"
And it's not an every day occurrence. I've been here steady keeping up on several releases.
Got it? Good.
The amount of times I have said the same thing is astounding.
It's just become a common occurrence here. And I just want it to stop.
Do you understand where I am coming from? Sorry if I came off as dickish.
I can understand that.
The sticky with the posting rule should be kept at #1, capitalized and in bold. And a bit more clear. I dug through several posts trying to find it so I can see why the random post would pop up asking for stuff.

I can't seem to find these serials/versions on my tablet...has anyone seen similar?
I sent a message off to the seller. Sweet baby Jeebus, if we can match our touchscreens to his part numbers then we will be in luck!

[closed] Busted/Bricked Prime? Buy/sell thread

Howdy all,
A lot of us have bricked our primes, or busted the LCD/digitizer. This thread will be for us to cut out searching eBay and other sites and buy/sell here.
So if you have a working Prime, with a busted screen, buy a bricked one and use that LCD/Digitizer off of it. Or if you want your prime working, buy a cracked one someone is sick of and pop your screen onto it.
If you're going to buy/sell, use PayPal. It'll give some safety.
Also, if you want to sell yours, leave an approximate price of what you're looking for.
MOD-Edit : Title

I'll start.
My Digitizer/LCD is busted. I'm looking for a replacement in good condition. Might already have one, but if you have a bricked prime floating around let me know.

As per forum rule #11, (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1307)
it is NOT allowed to post with the intention to sell ANYTHING. So I closed this thread.

Any cases better than the original?

I browsed through everything I found and nothing so far... Who uses the original case knows what I am talking about when I say: that perfect grip, those rised corners, and that semi-transparent background that showes the phone's beautiful purple ombre back.
Transparent cases just look so cheap and crappy, black and full-colour cases make no sense because who doesn't want to show the back of a phone whan it's actually stunning?
Anyone found better ones than the original provided in the box of the phone?
The SupCase (AmazonLink) has been my favorite, daily used case for a long time now. I have two official case and of course the included case, and still prefer the SupCase. The clear back on mine really doesn't have any scratches, but it's typically the only thing in my pocket. It does get a bunch of fingerprints on it, so I wipe it down every so often. Works fine with the factory 3D screen protector.
I have been using Spigen Liquid Air. Had good grip and fits perfectly.

I was thinking about this, but this is a full colored case... I woud happily buy if the back was transparent or at least semi-transparent...
