Hi friends,
Here I want to share a app with you. Its allows you to listen surrounding sound pause trigger in your music player.
Pause Music Mode:
+Uses your headset's microphone to listen for loud noises and pause your music if one is detected, then play back the sound that triggered the pause and continues for a short period of time the optionally resumes your music.
Where would I use it?
+At the office: pause your music automatically when someone is trying to get your attention
+At home: Don't miss door slams, children crying, your dog barking, or other warning signs
+At the airport: Relax at the gate and have your music pause when the gate announcements start
+Anywhere relatively quiet where you want to know if something happens around you
How to use:
Make sure your headset is plugged in.
Simply start the app, push Start, see the noise level around you, set the trigger level by using your finger to swipe the meter, hit the home button to access your music app and enjoy.
It's free on Android Market

Hi,
Before custom ROMS were built on ICS, when I was listening to streaming music in my car (via bluetooth), the phone would automatically stop playing when the car turned off. Same thing if I'm listening to music and I pull the headphones out, whatever was playing gets paused.
Now, when I turn my car off, the music doesn't stop playing, it just starts playing through the phone's speaker.
So my question is, is it the ROM that makes a player pause on disconnect or is it the actual APP that decides to either stop or keep playing through the speaker.
I know PowerAMP has options to auto play and auto stop on disconnect, but other apps like youtube, Audiostation (for my synology NAS) and a few others don't have settings.

I think the fact that some apps have the option indicates that at very least, the app does have some control over it. I don't know if the ROM/kernel have some default setting built in for apps that don't define it.
It seems to be a feature missing in ICS. I'm hoping it shows up by the final update.
I use Tasker to accomplish the same thing. The whole task for media is when I plug headphones in, it launches a menu with media apps (music, netflix, etc) and turns the media volume up to 6. When disconnected, it mutes media volume, pauses media, and returns to the homescreen.
I'll take a look at that in the interim, all I really need is it just to pause on BT disconnect like it use to. The is already a separate volume setting for BT vs the headphone jack. Thanks for the tip.
That's interesting, I didn't know tasker had something to pause media. I'll definitely give that a try.
I believe that was an AOSP tweak..my Inc running CM7 would pause on bluetooth disconnect.

I've met the following (very strange) problem when using Endomondo.
[Endomondo is a sport tracker and has a coach assistant that tells you the time and distance. Furthermore, before starting the workout you can start the phone music player by pushing a button in Endo's main screen.]
The problem is this:
1) If I use the default music player (which is internally called Connected Music Player - CMP.apk), when the time comes for the annunciation (lap time) both music and the audio coach are muted.
I can see that, during the coach notification, the phone volume is automatically changed to zero. After the (inaudible) annunciation the volume comes back to normal.
But using alternative music players things change.
2) Poweramp (trial): I can hear the coach notification. The music is completely muted during the announcement. Music's volume resumes after that. The problem is that Poweramp is not recognized as an alternative music player and I can't set it as the music player started by the Endomondo app music button.
3) musiXmatch (free): It works as I think Endomondo devs intended a music player to work. The music is not completely muted during the announcement but its volume is reduced so that it stays in the background during the coach notification, that is so clearly audible. The music volume comes back to normal after the notification.
After installing it, launching Endomondo and pressing its music button I had a dialogue box asking which music player to use (the default one or the newly installed musiXmatch). I chose the latter one and checked the "always do that" option. So everything is fine with this music player.
It seems that the problem is on the way Endomondo access the phone volume and how it affects both the music player (in the cases 1 and 2) and the coach's voice.
My question: does anybody know if there is there some (hidden) android setting that can fix this issue?
I'll up! your post as I use the same pair of apps, i.e. endomondo (pro) + power amp (full) both latest versions, but came across one more issue in addition to yours, maybe someone could help
I'm on leedroid GB running on htc evo3d gsm and found out that audio trainer behaves in a strange way: the initial sequence "prepare to start, free your endorphins" is the same volume level as poweramp music, but during interval comments (every 1km) music from poweramp gets much louder, as if endomondo caused music app to play at that high level. Don't know which setting might cause this. Endomondo is rather obscure when it comes to audio options, while poweramp just overwhelmes me
I'd buy a beer if there was someone who might answer your problem as well as mine..
well, Id like to know whether endomondo recognizes songs played by poweramp?
I use the aux-in in my car to listen to music. When I get to wherever I'm going, I typically just unplug the cable from the phone and the music stops. I do the same thing when I'm listening to music at my desk with headphones........unplug and the music stops. This is the way I expect it to work and I'm glad it works this way. The problem is that if I get a text message or phone call, the music resumes playing immediately after the phone call hangs up or the text message sound plays. It does this with both google music and pandora. That is super-annoying and can be a problem if I've taken my phone with me into a meeting and have it on nosound/vibrate. Any idea how to make that stop short of actually killing pandora or google music?
I love CM7 as far as speed, options, and customization are concerned, but there is a feature that I cannot get around, and wanted to know if anyone in this group dealt with it. When I use the car dock, the car dock app spawns (great so far). I can then make calls or listen to music, but when I use a non-standard music app (in my case the Amazon Cloud Player), the music will continue to silently play when I am on a phone call. When the call ends, the music will then come out of the phone speakers rather than the car speakers until I undock then re-dock. When I use Blur based ROMs the music pauses while I am on the phone, and then restarts through the speakers when my call ends, so I do not believe that this is a hardware issue.
Here are the problems that I would like to solve.
1) In CM7 ROMs, how can I get a Play Store music app to pause the music when I take a phone call, and
2) How can I ensure that the music app remains playing through my car stareo system once the call is done?
Big thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.
Hey
I listen to some recorded radio shows which are 2+ hours in length which usually means i dont get to listen to them in 1 go. However, if i pause it, it wont resume from where i left off in the track if i leave it for a while or turn my phone off/on. (it works fine if i pause it for an hour or so, as it still appears in the volume dropdown)
Ive tried using the Music + Videos app as well as Nokia music but both are the same. Are there any apps that can resume a track between power cycles?
I recently migrated over to WP8 from an android phone, and this is the type of feature i take as standard!
Any music should resume where it left off.
I have paused music and turned the phone off. When I turn it on, it resumes from the exact same point.
Don't know why yours doesn't....
How do you go about resuming your music? Usually you can just press volume up/down and it will appear there, but after a while/power cycle that disappears. Then when i goto the music + videos app, there is nothing there to resume. It just gives me my new tracks, history etc (and clicking history will just start playing that album/track again)
