Hi,
I have a problem with my earphones, they both have the same plug. But the right one is not recognized by the Xperia S. What to do about it? Will custom roms be able to fix this?

X S doesn't work with some headsets, those with microphone.
X S has different design than previous Xperias.

Disagree. Xperia S uses the CTIA plug, same as most phones out there.
I used beats with the in-line mic and they work fine. For some headsets you need to cold the call button on the headset as you insert it, then it recognizes just fine.
FYI, this was already extensively discussed. SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST!!!!!

It depends on what you are changing to... in my case i would go from
Standard HTC Headphones
to
Senheiser MX200
So YES I will defenetly hear the difference. But if you don't have after market headphones, then I would not suggest to buy any converter....!!!!!
BTW 12dollar is kinda expensive....... Its only rerouting 3 wires i gues.

We've just tested this headset with San Francisco, the quality with this in-ear earphones are generally better than the original ones (but not as good as the one bundled from Galaxy S), answering button is working properly too.

I've been using this at work since the X10 days. Connect and then in settings you need to "pair" the two.

I get it worked on x10 too
I have paired and I can confirm they have connected each other.
But seems doesn't work.
May be I try it again tonight.
So one of my headphones that i use for my phone have sort of broken, making the left one about 2 times quieter then the right one. Here's a tool in Windows XP that i actually use to balance it out, then it works fine when i'm on my pc, but i couldn't find nor make anything like that on the android. Can anyone help me out here? Here's the pic. If you know of an app that can help me to balance the volume out i'd appreciate it tremendously.

Thanks, i did some research on some apps and realized Poweramp has a knob for balancing the volumes between L and R.
Hey All,
I have pair of Sony MDR10R headphones (with mic and remote) that I have been using with a Z1s and Z for several months. Since I have gotten my Z2 I am noticing that the device is being detected as a headphone only device and as a result the mic and remote button do not work. The behavior is inconsistent, but about 90% of the time it is detecting it as headphone only.
Most other headsets with Mic work fine and detect correctly except for these. I have tried a couple different pairs of Sony headphones with remotes and see the same type of inconsistent behavior. As a result I never know how the unit is going to function when I plug in the headphones. I'm just not sure as result if this is a software issue or a problem with the headphone port.
Has anybody seen any similar behavior ?
Below are some screen shots of what I see in the notification tray:

Sony supplies some odd mics with their headphones, I have a pair of MDR-1R (awesome headphones btw) but their mics don't work with any android handset
