I'm told that it is a gimmick, and that it should give me headaches. But it isn't and it doesn't. I actually love the feature that turns an otherwise boring also-ran smartphone into something different.
Before, I was one of the biggest naysayers, expecting to hate this phone and wait for something next. But I'm hooked. I may need to see a professional. Or we could form a meeting. Who's coming with me?

the only thing that sucks is......Every Evo better have 3D from here on out..I cant see myself buying another phone if it doesnt have 3D now.
It's disturbing - my brain is rendering everything in 3D now. This morning over breakfast I fell into a crossword puzzle. Just got out an hour ago.

We the people in IRC don't think you're worthy to call it a 3VO.
E3D is much better.
You make it sound like a Vaginal Santa Claus, VO VO VO!
It's kinda crazy but either you see the 3D or you don't. My wife has a really hard time picking it up but the 3D snaps right into focus for me. I love to take pics with my DSLR but now I'm looking at things and seeing what would be interesting to capture in 3D. I initially thought I wouldn't use it much but I've been pleasantly surprised and will use it a lot more often.
The 3D pictures taken by the EVO 3D look absolutely amazing on a 3D TV. While I think the display on the phone looks great in both modes, seeing them in full resolution on a large TV really makes the depth shine.
I have no problem seeing the display in 3D - I made it almost half an hour in to Green Hornet before I got sick of the movie itself. I look forward to more games and movies, but until then, I will spend a lot of time taking 3D pictures of everything, because it looks so cool.

I think the difficulty some people have with seeing it is that first, if you hold closer than 12 inches, it is very difficult (almost impossible) to see the 3D effect. Second, you actually have to make your eyes focus beyond the screen, which just does not come easy for some people.
I totally agree with the OP, I was always like 3D? whatever I'm getting it for the processor and battery and screen res. But the 3D part is actually really cool, and more exciting than I thought; I'm sold on it. it will definitely be the future of all things visual, I think sooner rather than later.
they just need to figure out better viewing angles for TVs and computer screens for glasses free, and it'll be 3D everything.

It definitely has a vibrator... in fact, I forgot the first one didn't! However, mine makes a sound for a half-second when the vibrator runs up... once it's on, no problem... definitely a defect, but there's no way in hell I'm sending it in any time soon, haha

are you referring to the haptic response? I think it's normal, it's an feedback that tells you you've performed certain task, such as turning on the device. I don't think it's an defect.

Look under settings -> Sounds
You can probably turn off haptic feedback, or at least turn down the intensity.

The noise definitely is some sort of defect in my unit. I bought it through Amazon, and they have that awesome Advanced Replacement program, it just make take a while to get one to me (est. Jan 24 - Feb 7)
Just to add on, my TF201 hasn't seem to come across this issue.
Maybe it's just your unit. :|

That's definitely my guess... It's not crippling, but I don't feel bad at all about swapping it out.
I created a Vocaroo example... You can barely tell what the hell I'm saying, but the vibrate issue is pretty clear.

The first buzz is the vibrate fully on (sounds normal once it's going). The next is the vibrate turning on and off (you can hear the grinding every time it kicks on). At the end is when it's on almost full power, and you can hear it kind of struggle.
yeah. does not help your a bit close to the mic. but yeah that does not sound right.

It's something at the hardware level (it happens regardless of haptic feedback) :/
I *may* end up with two Primes if J&R comes through, so I may be a mensch and turn it around at cost to someone at XDA, or it may go on Craigslist for profit... Depends on my mood that day
Most of my devices were free upgrades from a previous device, or I made enough money selling the previous one to cover the new one... I'm a cheap bastard, but if I can make money off CL, I'm on it

great video. added it to my favorites. my dock will be on the way soon. can't wait to try out my Ethernet connection. I would use it for huge movie downloads and such. even for those big gameloft games. it'll download it in no time.

You'd also need special drivers for it to support wifi i guess.
I actually like the design, thought it would get alot worse and i think i'll take one But they could have made another port on the back side somehow, so you could plug in the charging cable while the dongle is attached.

Well maybe this is why they wont send my RMA back they were waiting on the dongle because according to the website its been done for weeks now but they wont mail it to me and it went in for wifi and gps problems. maybe now the they will send it BACK!!

I expect a newer case with this dongle incorporated into the design. I also hope there is a possibility of a pass thru charging port.
P.S. is Asus just giving us TFP owners this for nothing? Is there a mailing list out that we have to sign up to get it?

More information will be posted in the "Unofficial ASUS" sticky tomorrow (4/16), and a sign-up form will be available then. It's going to be free, and available to every Prime owner (at least in the US, but probably worldwide).
Lots of threads on the topic, including that main one.
Looks... beefy? Passthrough charging is almost necessary. Thats my biggest hope atm. Looks like it will fit in the mounts that are out there, too.

Seriously, I took this last night at my gig in Seattle. I was playing with a LOUD 15 piece Jazz Orchestra (Jazz Police) and recorded with the front facing camera. I'm really impressed with how it picked up everything. On the OG Evo, this would have sounded like, well, sh*t haha. Watch it on YouTube in HD if you want to hear the good quality audio/see the HD video

Nice groove, great playing and great recording.. I love the mic on this cell..picks up percussive sounds nicely, I get similar results recording guitar amps.. great job!
