[Q] XG!n ICS Official ARC Port issue - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Just recently flashed the ICS official ARC port rom to my WT19i.
I noticed some slight lags with it compared to the 4.1.A.0.562 generic port kamarush released.
I'm just wondering if it had something to do with the Tweaks, cause the description said something about containing a RAM tweak...

RAM tweaks usually either improve multitasking(less free RAM, more open apps, better multitasking) or improve playing games(more free RAM, less open apps, better for HD games).

dunno whats going on with the lag, but seems like it runs better without the tweaks.
ill try wiping the data and see if that helps.

Remarks
Ice Cream Purenesss Build 11
Switching to Airplane mode switched of WiFi
No 'clear' to remove all notifications at once
Uninstalling apps shows a dirty error - android.process.acore has stopped
JJ's Hybrid 3.3b
Antutu benchmarks terminated prematurely twice and the phone was running quite hot
After initial caching and media scanning, the ROM sped up incredibly
Xperia Stock 587
<didn't take down any notes for this>
Xperia Stock 587 (minus bloatware)
There still seems to be bloatware after the bloatware remover is applied - so there is more potential to gain performance
Rayonium ICS v6.2
<no notes here too>
Rayonium ICS v7
Credential manager stopped during one uninstallation, and keeps occurring during apps usage
Feels laggy while using - can't validate for sure
MIUI v4 2.8.17 (NeilDownx)
Great usability. While it seems to be laggy at times, it is not, as the results show
FXP 134 CM9
For some reason, graphics performance doesn't seem to be great though the CPU performance is top notch.
Even using the latest Adreno ICS / JB drivers is not helping
Jelly Sandwich 5
Similar installer like KA21. However looks a lot more customizable - gives you so many customizing options that I was almost lost.
I gather this is what is the Aroma installer. (Can compare this installer to others like -> Mandriva to Slackware Linux)
Ewwww.... bootanimation is gross -> needs a change first if I stick to this ROM
GXG Jellybread
Oh well, it is still Gingerbeard. Never going to be my long(er) term ROM. GB just feels so outdated now after ICS and performance was not so great that it could win me over.
Superleggera V3 ICS
Incredible graphics performance in Antutu. Literally blew everything else out of the water. The first time I have seen the knights scene touch 50fps, and this thing went on till 60fps.
Flylight ICS
Camera takes very fuzzy shots. First focus is slow, and then subsequent focus are quick.
Jelly Sandwich 5.1
This ROM is so much better than its last version. Looks like something to do with the drivers.
The camera seems a tad faster, but I get this feeling that there is some sort of IO issue on the ROM.
On Antutu, the IO scores were quite low and pulled the overall scores down. Also while taking burst shots on the camera, there was a feeling that it as struggling after 3-4 shots - looked like write delays
And as far as bootimages go, this is clean and professional
KA21
Easily the awesomest installation procedure/UI of any ROM that I have seen to date (my first experience with Aroma). The ROM felt very laggy.
KA21 Barebones
Even the barebones version of KA21 feels very laggy and is just not able to multitask
Analysis, Background and Testing Process
Analysis
After all the tests, it turns out that good ol' CM ROMs are still the best. CM9 is quite awesome on this phone and my primary 'focus' - the camera runs the best and fastest on CM9/FXP. Only trouble was with the graphics benchmarks - it performed well on some and not so well on others. Wonder why? Even the latest graphics drivers did not help.
I thought MiUI ROMs are heavy, but surprisingly it performed rather well. So did the stock ROMs though it had a lot of bloatware. I guess that the stock ROMs are highly optimized since they are made for the phone in the first place.
On the other hand, a ROM that had been quite hyped - KA21 quite simply sucked. And not just with Benchmarks, but it was just plain unusable and was all laggy and slow. I couldn't even go through with the tests and got fed up midway through.
What was interesting was on that on a whole all ROMs behaved almost the same. So its just a matter of preference whether you install a lot o 3rd party apps - then you need the ones with higher internal memory free after installation. Also, with 3rd party apps - like music, browser, movies etc. behave almost exactly the same - which is why you see it grayed out. The difference between the ROMs seemed to be in how efficient their media scanner and IO throughput was. After the first few runs of each app, the next runs were pretty much identical. So when your app is already buffered, then subsequent access is superfast.
Unfortunately subsequent accesses are limited by the amount of free RAM. And some heavy ROMs here leave very little free RAM to the apps. This is where you need a good balance of free ROM and good memory management in the ROMs.
The best balance that I found - for my needs, was FXP/CM9 and I am sticking to that.
All in all, it will just come down to personal preference of look and feel - whether someone prefers Sony's look, or stock Android's look,or MiUI's convenience and ease of use.
18th September:
I added a couple more ROMs to the mix. I tried the much demanded Jelly Sandwich - it felt nice and looked very promising, but somehow did not deliver. I had a lot of expectations from this ROM. Benchmark scores turned out quite pathetic and this ROM ranks among the low ones. I felt so bad that I even tried a barebones version by removing almost everything and choosing the lightest components but performance did not improve significantly enough even to pull it from the orange or yellow band to one band higher.
I also benchmarked a gingerbread ROM, but even that did not deliver to my expectation. Looks like some of the best ROMs are the ICS roms. In fact I even tried a JB rom, but most of it did not work and I just did not continue with the benchmarking.
20th September:
Looks like some new ICS GPU drivers are doing the rounds. I've never seen the Ray pull off such great FPSes before. Flylight has got the best driver yet, hope it rubs off on the others.
Background
I had thought of starting off a new thread for a personal comparison that I am doing. I felt this would benefit others as well who loves playing around with ROMs, or who is looking for a ROM that suits their needs on paper.
I have tried out almost all ROMs on the forum for the Xperia Ray and like a spoilt child, I am never satisfied with any one. Probably the longest that I have had one is for 2 weeks. When I think back, I realize that most ROMs were chucked away - primarily because of boredom; but an other reason was that the performance deteriorated or I was not able to play some touted games.
I have now settled down to the following facts
1. Xperia Ray is not meant to play games (debatable - but that's my stand)
2. If you fill the last MB on the phone with apps, the performance is bound to drop
So, I have decided to do a un-scientific study of the various ROMs that are currently there to decide on one ROM and settle on it for a while (1-2 months at least :silly: )
The control device is my 5 month old Ray. It has a 16GB Class 10 card. The kernel is a XRay v7.3.431 overclocked to 1.4GHz. (the only exception would probably be the FXP ROMs which comes with its own kernel and I don't suppose it runs on the XRay)
The device will have a factory reset, all possible wipes, all possible formats, before installing the ROM and taking readings. There will be some measurements, some benchmarks, and some 'feeling' measurements. Nothing will be installed other than the benchmark tools and I will remove all apps from the recently-run apps before taking each measurement.
Testing Process
The setup of the phone is as follows for the tests
Preparation
1. Factory reset
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe dalvik
4. Format system
5. Format data
6. Format cache
ROM Installation
1. Install ROM
2. Install any dependent patches
3. Flash compatible Kernel (if required, else stick to XRay 7.3.431)
4. Do initial setup - without using a google account
5. Overclock to 1.4GHz (use built in configuration, or install No-Frills CPU)
6. Set CPU Governer = SmartAssV2, IO Scheduler = noop (where possible)
7. Let phone rest for 5 minutes
8. Switch on WiFi
9. Activate GPS and location usage
10. Switch on installation from unknown sources
11. Add a google account and sync only browser and contacts
12. Let phone rest for 5 minutes after sync is complete
13. Go into Airplane mode
14. Keep charger plugged in
15. Start tests
Tests
1. Unload all apps from recent apps
2. Install app for testing (other than stock or whatever exists on the phone)
3. Run tests
4. Uninstall app
5. Repeat for next test
Note: All apps (for testing loading times) are opened once to dismiss off with popups and notifications and so that any caching and optimization can be done. They are then unloaded and tests are started. Theory is that the user is concerned with the speed of loading for commonly used apps, so they would have been opened many times and optimized/cached.
Q: Is there a way to integrate the google docs spreadsheet inline in this forum? Will make my life that much easier. Or at least a way to embed a HTML table into this post?
Good luck.. I've tried them all (unlocked bootloaders).
And there isn't better combination than
Kernel: Aire V2 + initd
Rom: RayoniumICS 6.2 (just because i don't like nxt pack)

rom study?
i figured (using gxg jellybread right now) that my ram is getting less.
after flashing and using some certain apps my complete ram was about 300mb, after restoring my (about 200, lot of games) via apk-installer, my ram (as you can check via applications -> running services) went down to about 220-230mb
how is that possible? i dont get it.
with ics i did not have this problem (afair) but ics is too slow for the ray imho.
JB is fun, but it is still in infancy. I wouldn't use it as my daily ROM yet. So I will stick to ICS comparisons for now, and will add JB as the ROMs get more stable. I could have added GB to the comparison too, but then GB is soo boring that I wouldn't want to have it around on my phone for even a while.

jellybean is not ready for daily use yet, i agree. the rom (the android version) i was talking about was gingerbreaed.
gxg jellybread is just a gb-rom that looks a little bit like jellybean, nothing more, but its still gingerbread
yeah, gb might be "boring", but its the fastest and fulliest functional rom you can get for ray right now.
if this weird ram-issue wouldnt occur i wrote about...
i am currently using Paranoid Android v1.4.1 (ICS Version) and right now, i am pretty satisfied.. it's smooth enough for daily use..
i used 2 extra apps..
automemory killer pro - set to extreme
ram manager pro - set to hard gaming
cpu governor - performance
max- 1ghz
min- 158mhz
this is the result of using FPS2D..
Updated the charts with my measurements and comments. Hope you find this useful if you are looking for a new ROM.
Nice thread, I really like the evidence-based, unbiased methods. As a scientist myself this is important in any comparison This was something I was contemplating doing myself - now I don't have to!
thanks for the chart
I think I will still stick with JJ's 3.3b
JJ's may not be the fastest rom but it still on the fast side and offer a lot feature too.
And I modded the hell out of this so I will miss my mod when install other rom.

Oh, JJ is definitely one of the fastest ROMs there. In fact JJ, Stock, and FXP are almost on par (what's 1 or 2 points?) In fact the only thing that let JJ down was the amount of free RAM. Other than that, in the benchmarks, it was indeed consistently the fastest ROM.

Spent almost a week without a life getting this chart ready - wiping, rewiping, installing, uninstalling, measuring etc etc
Did you uninstalled the bloatware from stock ROM using any automatic bloatware removal tool or uninstalled the applications manually?
According to my experience : after I removed bloatware one by one using 'root uninstaller' the free internal memory became 332 MB. (I removed facebook inside xperia, google maps, talkback etc also)
and before i started installing the applications and mods the the free RAM was around 200 - 195 MB.
I can play most of the games (which are playable on Ray) very smoothly.
The last game I played was NFS hot persuit. The graphics ran super smooth, but the sound sometimes become choppy though.
I actually don't see a very big reason to jump from stock ROM 4.1.B.0.587 (minus bloatware, plus some of the very very useful mods and tweaks available in this forum) to a custom ROM.
Some people may have different views. I respect their views, but for me, I am happy with 4.1.B.0.587
Really nice thread

JJ's is the best .. at least for me
i've been flashing different rom, but i been missing the GB experience.. GxG's Jellybread is quite amazing for it's ICS-GB-JB experience.. but it's actually GB. i haven't tried the new stock 587 though, because of your chart i can see the performance increase with the new stock.. i will give it a try thanks mate..

I used just the automatic bloatware removing tool that knight has posted on the forum. I have mentioned in the comments in the chart there is still so much scope to remove bloatware, so obviously a lot more space and memory could be freed up.
I think Sony has done quite a good job with their ROM - not considering the bloatware.
Do you really prefer the CM9 camera instead of SE stock camera?

ICS or JB good for games?

Hello guys, I wonder if there is any custom rom for Xperia Neo V, which run the games without any lag, or at least with minimum of lags.
sorry for bad english!

I haven't really tested much but as far as I know it goes like GB(Codename 9, X-GAMER) > JB(CM10, AOKP) > ICS
Imo ICS is the least optimised for gaming, but bear in mind that I haven't really done any real benchmarks so I might be wrong on this, someone should back me up first
of course GB i better for gaming but i dont have mush problem with ICS:good:
GB are the best for gaming man
u can try codename he's fast n
Stable
Of course GB because is lighter than ICS
For all the fools answers (not eveyone)
He asked ICS AND JELLY BEAN! NO GINGERBREAD.
I really dont know which one is fastest but bear in mind that JB needs more ram, and has many bugs.
it depends...
well of course it depends on what kind of games are you playing...as guys/girls said JB uses more ram and its still under development, but if you have nice tuned ics its definetely better...i sugest you to take a day off for your phone and just try roms...it cant hurt and you will find the rom that suits you best
gb, ics generates as many compatibility problems or close by themselves.
apart gives you more free RAM
there are many ICS custom roms that good for games

CM9 , i.e. ICS and Jelly sandwich are pretty good RAMwise, and therefore good for playing games.
Moreover if you want a lag free gaming, close all background running apps before running games, as 512 MB is never enough RAM for gaming.

How to get best performance [AC Rom]

Hi, i'm using one of the best roms for Xperia Neo, the AC rom (used to be PAC) the one ported by Kormatoes. But i'm getting a little lag when gaming, just installed vce city and even with low graphics i get lag sometimes. So i want to know what can i do to reduce this lag.
I changed the governor to performance (don't know if it's the best), and OC to 1.4 GHz, closed all apps before gaming. What else can i do?

Vice City is a pretty heavy game and it won't run on our devices smoothly, especially if you're on ICS/JB ROM.. Both are RAM hungry and therefore not enough RAM would be there for you to play!
If you love heavy games I recommend you to switch to GB ROMS..
I know that GB roms are lighter than ICS or JB, but how lighter they are? You think just the rom will make a big difference or there should another thing to do? What about the governor?

Try playing games on both GB and ICS and then try to compare between the two!

Well i would like to get the best performance without changing the rom. I think the AC ROM is well tweaked and maybe as lighter as a GB rom. Just want to know the best configuration (CPU governor, I/O) to get less lag. Should i restart the phone before playing too?

(Sola) Meets ICS Specs but Fails? *Timescape Retired*

Hi all, I'm hoping for discussion so I chose here instead of simple Q&A.
Like a lot of people here I'm looking ahead to my next phone purchase and I'm trying to see what went wrong with ICS on the Sola. The forum is filled with theads on problems, I won't list them.
Here's the crux of the issue; I read here: http://androidtechguru.blogspot.ie/2012/02/minimum-system-requirements-for-ice.html
that the head Mod of CyanogenMod says that the ICS mimimum spec is 256mb of RAM with a decent GPU, and seperately, other people say that 1ghz dual core, 512 RAM is recommended. The Sola has this precisely. Why is ICS so bad on it? You can Google many, many reviews of even high-end Sony phones on ICS and they still lag like a pensioner going down a motorway. Why?
Is it true that the Sola reserves some RAM related to the extra sensors in the screen? I read more people saying 1GB or RAM is needed for ICS to run smoothly. I noticed that reviewers on Techradar say Jelly Bean runs much better that ICS on the same specs. So, is 1GB of RAM the standard needed for ICS? How about CPU and GPU?
p.s. I should say that a Sony rep on their official forum recommended me to download a task manager to manage the RAM on the Sola...how revealing!
NOTE - Timescape now retired: http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/01/14/rip-timescape-long-live-socialife/
Liked that motorway part
Btw
512mb is sufficient for ics (nexus s)
Its runs ics so smoothly
What sony does is that it adds an extra layer of Timescape launcher
Along wid that loads of bloatware
And regarding using task manager
Its worse one could do make phone unstable
Task manager kills app
Apps then reopen by themselves
Task manager again kills app
And the process continues till the battery is drained
Edit - I have same prblm on my xu sola n xu are twins
Thanks, I'm really trying to learn about how this works.
So, 512MB RAM for ICS, but perhaps more after a manufacturer has added their skin and apps?
Is there any other big problem with the specs for the Sola or U?
Battery drain, has anyone else noticed many of Sony's late 2012 medium-high end phones have 1900mha batteries, but reviews on GSMArena and TechRadar say their actual performance is about 1400/1500? (Check out the Ion, Acro S and others) The opposite can also be true but is rare from what I see - the iPhone5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini have small batteries 1400/1500 but their battery performance is more like 1800-2000. I don't know what Apple and Samsung did to make it that good, but the stats tell me Sony is really messing something up to reduce the battery performance that badly despite 1900. Maybe that is the Timescape UI eating the battery?
I wont say that about Samsung bt for apple
I have used an iphone 3gs and a galaxy note (my dad's)
Note's battery backup is even worse than my xu (probably coz it has always swtiched on 3g n gmail)
I have never seen an android wid good battery (except my brothers htc desire v)
The best battery I got in 3gs
---------- Post added at 10:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:17 PM ----------
My phone gives me a descent battery wid brains rom about 20hrs wid 4hrs of wifi, alot of messaging and hardly any calls
What about sola?
Have a look at this: http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_razr_i_xt890-4998.php
And the battery performance: http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_razr_i_xt890-review-828p2.php (bottom of this page)
I hope you wet yourself when you see this. I did.
64hrs?? Wtf??
I guess its due to intel chipset
I will collect money to buy this now I even beats my Nokia n86
Novathor also has an image of being power efficient
Bt I guess its the sony **** that pulls it down

A normal task manager doesn't do this you're talking about an automated task killer.
It is a feature some of task managers out there have.
If you have a task manager with an auto kill feature you can, in most cases, disable it.
A task manager can help save battery juice, as long as you don't use any auto kill "features".
Its really confusing about Sola, I think the headline of this thread summarize everything.. It just failed.
Well sure thing for me now its not a ram issue, I'm using my Sola lately without task manager, and just by limiting background process to 3, it runs with 30-40 free ram even better and more stable than 120 by a task manager, Android has its own ram management unlike Windows mobile for example where free ram is something important.
I'm using "Watchdog" task manager where it kills only apps that eat CPU not Ram.
Slow performance always start after few days of using, like now I'm in third day without restarting device started to face random lags.
And I think JB could maybe run faster than ICS even with same specs, imo best os is the one able to run good on minimum or normal required specs, like Vista - Win7 thing on laptops , vista was older but crap comparing to win7 even on same specs.
And btw even Sony devices with 1G ram like P, has issues with performance.. So it's either a CPU issue, or Sony customization.

i did notice that the facebook app sucks a lot of battery and resources from sola. On medium usage my phone goes well past a day, that is after i upgraded to .154 and uninstalling the facebook app
Check out the other Motorola phones released just before Christmas, they ALL have batteries above 2000mha! I have checked many reviews and they all seem to perform up to a very high standard. I have even chatted on here with guys who own these phones and they post battery stats lasting 2-3 days!! That's what I'm talking about...Motorola is apparently using a giant advertisment in the US saying 'A smartphone is not so smart if you have to leave it plugged into the wall all the time'.
I didn't notice the Xperia P had 1GB of RAM, and it's still slow??? I really think that's Sony's skin then. I've been reading many phones with 1GB of RAM that are really fast on ICS/JB.
By the way, that Motorola RAZR i...single core 2ghz, the GSMArena tests say that it performs better than most quad-core phones...shocking huh? Intel says the single core saves power.

Well i own a xu and i cant agree with you, ics here works fine and i have lots of apps installed too, ram usage is high but system is smooth overall and i havent had a single crash or reboot yet (been almost 3 weeks with ics).Cant be happier with my phone.
Edit: Btw it is not rooted and its bootloader locked, runing ics stock.
Even my very low end LG p500 with 512MB ram and a arm v6 600Mhz cpu can run ics just fine, even with old kernel, lack of sources, hacks, etc. I was using oxygen ics at the time.
In my opinion it only require a proper rom building, where most of the companies are failing.

Well guess u folks lucky, coz i had some major issues running ICS on my U. Was practically forced to first root (so as to use some root tools to get stuff done,) then Unlock BL for Custom ROM. (Very Happy with CM9.1 - Was pretty happy just using TheBrainROM also, but I did get a Lag once in a while -Not very common, just once in a while. Using CM fxp 202 atm, and it hasn't lagged even once. O_O )
NOTE:- I did have a LOT of apps (over 100 user apps i believe), stilll I have most of them on CM but, no problems at all. (battery seems a bit worse though i could be wrong as TheBrainROM had some really good battery times, - I would get upto 1 and half days with charge. -Phone never on extended standby.)
Also @Silver If u think Windows 7 was good, check the performance on Windows 8. Heck even games are running smoother and faster. :/
Sony ends Timescape for future phones, converts everything into one option user app called Sociallife: http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/01/14/rip-timescape-long-live-socialife/
Maybe the 2013 phones will see a performance boost?
Well I'm using stock .54 without task managers for 5 days now without restart, device is running great, even with receiving calls while I'm using many apps.
For me using task managers with "Kill All" was the problem.

Before the Sola, I had the 2011 Xperia Mini (ST15i). It came on 2.3 with upgrade to 4.0. I gave it to my brother when I got the Sola. Tonight, I played with that phone again on ICS. It is *SO* fast and smooth it really puts the Sola phone to shame.
Comparisson of these two phones?

This is another thing about buying new phones: dual-core does not necessarily mean better performance from what I've seen. A more powerful processor, yes.

but your sola has so much more pixels to play with, it's normal that the mini is smoother

I was thinking about keeping the Sola's resolution in the next phone, particularly to take it easy on the battery. Would you recommend that to keep the CPU relaxed too? I really don't know a lot about how this works but I'm keen to learn.
By the way, for anyone else interested on Android skins and updates, I spotted more hints on Sony's 2013 phone skins, Sony mentions it will be 'very light and easily updated':

ICS or GB? What should I use? I guess this question is not only mine...

Greetings my dear friends.
I'm here to give my verdict on the upgrade to ICS after 2 months using the ICS Stock ROM I could finish something. Read and understand.
I have an XPERIA U ST25a retail brazilian.
Sure, the stock ICS ROM is very attractive, all good new stuff found in Android 4.0 are very good, like the new UI or settings menu, the toggles easily accessible are very useful, but the apparent instability and slowness (in moments) make me think why I bought this phone, and also think about going back to the old but great stock GB ROM.
And yes, i use ICS ROM, I made my own modifications and tweaks to the all-bloated ICS Stock ROM get the maximum performance.
But the bugs are really ridiculous.
The battery only charges sometimes if the phone is restarted, otherwise the indicator will be locked at 39%, for example.
The camera seems to be slow compared to the old Stock GingerBread ROM.
The open / close applications is not slow, but sometimes the application takes to respond as if something sucking the system performance.
All these bugs may (or may not) be Sony's problem, but since the era of my old devices I have these SAME problems in some ICS ROMs (I've also tested the FXP CM9 rom, and believe me, if you fill up with apps, will be slow too).
It seems that Android 4.0 ICS is always buggy and slow, and then Eclair 2.1 (horrible) then followed by the 2.2 Froyo (good).
My conclusion: Don't upgrade if you hate a phone will be a little bit slower.
I just do not go back to stock GB ROM why I still enjoy a good user interface instead of performance.
But if you do not like one bit of minimal slowdowns or some bugs, DO NOT bother upgrading to ICS. Just a beautiful day, we have the long awaited Jelly Bean. Even if it is a CM10, the "Butter Project" realizes disappear with lags. And all these little problems may be fixed.
I just let my experience here on this upgrade does not seem that there be a good idea.
Thank you very much
What ics firmware build number are you talking about?
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
About any ICS firmware. I've tested B.1.10, B.1.54 and C.1.10 and of these three have similar and different problems. Its a problem about android 4.0 that have been build focused on research data...
Ics is a very ram hungry ...if u have a device which has ram 512 or below that, them trust me it's best to stay at GB.. In my Xperia P ICS eats up 500MB of my ram.i am just left with 430 MB of usable memory...

But in android free ram doesn't mean more performance, lag will only appear when RAM reaches the "lag level" (30~25 free ram)
Here on my XPU i have 120~140MB free and i don't have any lag. BTW if you install a bunch of crappy apps and let the bloatware of Sony installed you will certainly will get some lag. Even on a XPP with 1GB of RAM you can feel some lags, i've already tested yet!
Yes if you say it like that.. Then yes under a microscope ICS does lag a bit.it's inevitable even the quad cores lag in ics from time to time.. But hey that's why there is JB for the rescue...

I think lag by alot of app is open. So I endtast and free ram. It Work fine with me.
I prefer the GB which is less power hungry on RAM compared to ICS.
ICS, I find it laggy.
Most games lag on ICS compared to GB.
For me, if I'll choose, I'll go for Custom ROM based on ICS(not the stock one that sony distributed). If you don't like stock ROM then I'll stick to GB because ICS consumes more RAM than GB.
