Hi guys, if you are like me and didn't receive the new 12072 update yet, it's very easy to force it on your Lumia 800. I did it this morning, and my phone is locked and branded, and everything went well, so here is how to make it.
First, grab the update http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/dflt/2012/04/oemupdate.cab.pks_98ed59ede38f0bd78d153d984fcb96e119de2ccd.cab. It's a cab archive, so don't extract it, just leave it as it is.
Then download this tool and install the x32 or x64 version according to your configuration.
Now download this one and simply extract it in a folder. Connect your Lumia to Zune and wait for the sync process to end. Close Zune. Put the .cab file in the same folder than the tool called WP7 cab sender, at the root of the file "WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat", it's important.
Launch the batch file "WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat", an msDos window should open, asking you to choose a letter for an option: choose the option of your choice but don't forget to make a backup before installing the new update.
Then you only have to wait for the backup / update to end. Don't close the MS-DOS window before the end of the process. It's done, your phone is now running the new update.

Well technically its a command prompt and not a "MSDOS" I update mine a few minutes ago. The whole procedure with backup should take about 20 minutes.
Yup. And the Volume bug does indeed seem to have disappeared
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Big Yes,
it seems to fix the volume bug, which was a big issue for me.
For the rest, I don't know; I only have had it for 5 minutes!
Thank u a lot,the bug audio disappear now
Thanks for instructions/link.
Easy update, everything working.
Seems that the audio bug (using the headset during a call) disappeared for me too.
does this mess with the bootloader at all?
can't w8 to try it~~~
Just got the update today, Vodafone, Netherlands.
(Pre-ordered Lumia 800 from Vodafone webstore)
Thank God for this site.. The did the links and instructions from Mobiletechworld.com and the cab sender refused to see the update.
Used the ones in this post and the update went PERFECTLY!

You must extract the archive called WP7+Update+Cab+Sender.zip.
This will create a folder called the same name: WP7+Update+Cab+Sender.
Place your cab archive inside this folder, just where is located the file called WP7 Update Cab Sender.bat
Run this batch file and select option number one, "S ·(S)end Cabs to device"
The update should then start.
I PRESS S THEN ALL I GET IS BELOW MESSAGES

Ok try this: double-clic on the folder called "Tools", then on x64 or x86 according to your configuration. Launch then the file "UpdateWP.exe".
Back in the folder "WP7+Update+Cab+Sender", double-clic on "if needed install this tool", then on "x64" (64 bits) or "x86" (32 bits) according to your config. Finaly, launch "Setup-UpdateWP-x64/x86.exe".
Votre ordinateur est paré pour la mise à jour.
Just did my second cab sender update. Why are operators so slow when it comes to these things? I mean, it's a minor update, isn't it? Thank you.
PS: I had someone call me while listening to music; no longer shock therapy. Everything seems fine now
Thank you for the easy to follow post on how to update.
Having too tried to follow instructions posted elsewhere, and failed, managed to update quickly and easily this time.
does forcing this update wipe all your apps/messages etc?

You seem to be using your ram twice....
You show 118meg of main memory (ram) and then later on a RAMDISK partition of 95meg. Unless the XDA2 has >200meg ram ( it doesnt) then something is wrong!
As far as im aware you cannot use the ramdisk prog on the fullram versions of wm2k5, this could be your problem.
hi there i have the same problem, got it after i de-installed pocket controller from soti.
checked startup folder for commloader.exe but its not there,
i think its a setting in the registry.
it appears at startup (reset) also after pressing on/off button.
Anyone else with this problem ?
It has to do with Pocket Controller. Reinstalled the app problem gone, de-installed problem reappeared.
The commloader resides on the bottom right part of the screen (where the BT icon is).
Anyone any idea where to disable the loading of icons in that part of the screen.
Perhaps topic should be moved?

HI
You are right, I just unistall SITO Pocket controller then like that.
CommLoader is the device driver of SOTI's Pocket Controller, it's required by the desktop Pocket controller to be able to communicate with your PDA.
To get rid of the message, just go to the: [\Windows\startup] directory & manually delete the CommLoader(.exe). It should have been removed automatically by uninstall, but it didn't so you have to remove/delete it manually.

interesting...
can it be a hidden file? it shouldn't be. can u put a check mark on the [Show all files] in the menu?
This is just a wild guess but you may want to check; do you have another \Windows directory in the NAND/FLASH/Storage or in any other storage?
Now don't laugh at it, since I used to have a complete \Windows directory in the Flash/NAND storage in Buzz's initial release of WM2k5!!!
Cheers.
Cannot find commloader.exe anywhere.
reinstall SITO and keep it, that all newver popup error again.

LnkMgr v0.0.2.7 Alpha Released
Now includes fix for shared folders and minor graphic improvements
LnkMgr is a link/shortcut creator and editor for the Pocket PC. It allows a user to effortlessly create and catagorize links en masse in the Start Menu folder. It also allows you to remove invalid shortcuts.
More information and downloads are available here: Please note the site may go up and down, Apache/Mono is kind of flaky.

Hi dtsouers,
You have created a little tiny tool that helps to organize things better.
One question from me for what i have found on your website:
>>P* is the Programs folder located in StartMenu
>>If nothing is specified it will go into the StartMenu
It is possible to move links to P*?
Sample: the *.lnk it is in the main directory of \startmenu\programs.
Now i will move it to \startmenu\programs\sample_dir.
Great app! Now only if it looked and functioned a little better.. I'd cook into into my ROM for good.
First you need to use the Category Editor to create sample_dir in P*.
Once that is complete, find your link in the list and change the category to sample_dir.

Do you have a bluetooth sharing folder on your device? I've seen a issue where sometimes that folder is not always accessible and can cause errors when I traverse the file system.

No it is a network sharing folder to get software from my server.
It is created with the Schaps_NetworkPlugin_1_0_30468_1.CAB
>>I've seen a issue where sometimes that folder is not always accessible and can cause errors
The network directory is NOT allways accessible.
Whoo linking managers; I like them!
Yet another nice application which I've added to my Feature Settings LNK overview page (hope you don't mind);

Hi dtsouers,
thanks for your aap update. I go to test this today in the evening in our time zone ;-).
REPORT:
Installed on the memory card. Program's 1st start needs a little bit more time.
I think it is the link searching function?
Updated:
I have to update my signature.
Now i have running the newest official htc ROM. This comes later on the day.
I will report later the rest of my tests, but so far so good.
I've got 'CabBatchInstall' on my device, which is useful, as it allows you to install a batch of cabs one by one to your device, after updating the ROM or doing a hard reset. You generate a list by pointing at the directory where you've stored them, and can then edit the text file down to only include the cabs you want to install, rather than the entire contents of the directory you've pointed at. See the application thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407885.
This got me thinking: Is there an app for 'interrogating' your phone to see what you have installed on it at a particular point in time? After all, what you have installed is listed at Settings > Application > Remove Programs > And if there is, or if not, but someone would produce this sort of thing, could it be made to 'talk to' or be an addition to 'CabBatchInstall', so that the list of installed apps is the one 'CabBatchInstall' uses to do the batch install after hard reset or new ROM?
Just so you're aware, I've made similar post to this on the application thread I've linked above.
you could try listing the folders in Windows\AppMgr to a text file - MortScript which should be capable of this
Thanks p107r0, but I'm a complete novice when it comes to programming, mortscript and everything like that.
Oh well, I suppose it was a nice idea...
thats an excellent idea for an app. Sometimes I'll finally have my device set up exactly the way i like but it usually takes me going through and doing alot of installing/uninstalling to figure out what i want to get to that point. Or i'll flash a nee rom and really only want the apps that i had previously. This would prove quite helpful. Before I always had to resort to going to the "remove programs" screen and from there i would just keep scrolling down the list of apps and take screenshots so atleast i would know what they were.

I was bored and curious if I can do it, so here comes short script which lists all the folders in Windows\AppMgr to a text file on storage card,
of course you'll need MosrtScript to run it
Wow, what a usefull script!!
I make an installation (cab file) of it.
After you have installed - you find it in Startmenue-> Tools-> AppList...

SK Tools is for sure a very powerful set of utilities,
however in terms of price nothing beats the free stuff.
As for keeping track of installed apps, I prefer to just keep on my Storage Card an orderly folder with cabs (moreless similar to the structure used in XDA_UC), this way I always know what is installed and where, also whether it needs installing at all.
1. Download the file
2. Change the extension of the downloaded file. Zip (should happen: RM803_12w07_prod_generic_updated_nokia_osbl.zip)

I have the QC bootloader on my phone and I'm having a heck of a time trying to upgrade it to the Tango update. I feel like it's the QC bootloader that's somehow blocking me from using NCS. I have a thread for my problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734174.
I think if I can get the DLOAD on my phone then it can get stock upgrades...but at this point, my phone is stuck with an old version with no upgrade path.
Details please

ok, thanks for the tips
Well it is working without "clear phone software update registry" option. No xp compatibility needed.
I have windows 8 x64 and the other method always work well for me.
But thanks, is other choice.
