Riptide GP has really jaw dropping graphics, and feels like an Xbox Live arcade game! I'm really impressed with the overall quality, and the game is pretty fun too! By far the best graphics on Android game so far.

How is the gameplay and replay value? It sure looks awesome, but $8 is a lot more than most games. Still, I'm definitely tempted.

Gameplay is great, and with 3 difficulty levels and openfeint achievements there's a good amount of replay value. Super fun, glad I bought it.
yes this game is amazing
jeez thats a lot of money for a phone game, v tempting, thanks for link
Wow I got it, absolutely worth it. It's fun, looks amazing, and has good sound/music too. Plus buying it sends a message to developers that we want quality games and will pay, so do it!

I like Pinball HD for Tegra. It's half the price and pretty awesome graphics and gameplay.
Glad you guys are enjoying!
I have Pinball HD and it's pretty awesome too. But Riptide looks like it was ripped off from PSN or Xbox Live, and it has better graphics than many games sold on those services for $10-15.
$8 is really a bargain considering the overall quality of the game - technically the best graphics on the Android platform so far with great gameplay.
My First Trainz Set has amazing graphics. Not good game play though. I'm waiting for that train simulator to come out, that'l be really nice looking.
Waiting for GoF2.

ACtually, I agree. I downloaded it and it's truly amazing. Pinball is also great ,but the speed of the graphics in Riptide is what blows me away.
Amazing game !!!
Thanks .

Yeah sweet game. Although after a while I start to find it annoying to have to rotate the phone to turn.

Pretty much too much turn required or I just suck at the game. Need for speed shift (part of the telstra sbf) works well for steering, almost too easy.
Cheers!
The graphics were so good it was quite shocking. Finally a reason to get a Tegra 2 phone.
Thread cleanup. Back on topic please, Thanks
It takes some getting used to with the turning the phone to turn. Not sure how I feel about that type of gameplay. Although despite that I enjoyed the game and it looked beautiful. Thank you for showing us this find
has anyone try Contract Killer from Glu Game ????? i get so addicted to this game. graphic is stunning and the story line is interesting too. you can train to level up, buy more advanced guns to kill faster great game. find it at market.
sweet i think i might have to buy it!
Another great game for Tegra 2 is Samurai Vengeance. Great story line, AMAZING graphics and HOURS of gameplay!
Thanks for the post about this new game...gunna go try it. =)
I'm sure most of you have seen the game demo's shown on the Prime, including Riptide, Shadowgun, Glowball ...etc, I am yet to see Tegra games such as the following:
Galaxy on Fire 2 - this should look amazing!
Shine Runner - hoverboat racing
HISTORY Great Battles Medieval - this was first tested on the nvidia quad-core reference tablet, which revealed how smooth a strategy game like this could be played
Zen Pinball - funky twist on pinball
Vendetta Online - another space game, but centred around MMO
Bang Bang Racing
Dark Meadow - another game to look forward to. Good visuals and an interesting storyline
I really hope other gaming company's head towards Android development in the near future, the mear fact that there are thousands of roms for various emulators and can be played with a ps3/xbox remote is a huge +
However I would like to see more PC like games possibly ported onto Android, for example Homeworld/Homeworld Cataclysm, Command & Conquer series, Half-life/Portal series, Borderlands...to name a few. I'm not sure where the community stands on this type of development, I'm sure it's not an easy task, but it has to be possible as it would grab alot of interest. I'm not saying necessarily the brand new releases, but at least some of the classic's that we know and love which would be ideal for some mobile gaming.
Just a thought, but share your ideas and suggestions
Porting from x86 environment (PC) is not an easy thing. And good games need good controls, even though we are at the point where gamepads are finally supported i dont think devs can make games that depend on it. So alot of games wont really work with touchscreen controls.
I think the best thing we can do if we want good games is pay for the ones that will come out on tegra3, so the companies make some money out of it.
And if you count alle the Tegra2+Tegra3 games + gameloft + other companies + emulator you get alot of good games already available. This Tablet is not thought as a replacment for my Desktop gaming pc.
Get onlive app and you can play all the great pc games.

NVidia has collaborated with a lot of game development teams (as you can see in most games credits), and Asus is the manager of the "Republic of Gamers" community. It should be time for them to push the developers to create good Android games. Anyway, a good game usually means more than a year of development. Providing how long has been Android alive, and how long has it been a smooth enough OS... my guess is game developers will start moving towards it but games will take its time to come.

I'm hoping for a Torchlight or Torchlight 2 port or version that works it's way to Android because I feel Action RPG would work great on a touch screen and since Torchlight has a netbook mode I feel it would run awesome on Tegra 2-3.
I'm also interested in Onlive but I'm concerned about bandwidth because I have a 6mb DSL connection and my wife and kids use netflix as the primary source of TV. I guess I could head over to evil charter but then the price doubles...
Anyway, I feel that we will get some AAA titles for android in 2012 and it will spike even further from there... I expect some good augmented reality games and some 3d action from Nvidia as well. =)

When Google merges Chrome into Android it should get much better. At least we would get Bastion. I see Android on the forefront on games on mobile device with stuff like Tegra, but with different capabilities per device there is not much incentive to make a really spectacular game that only runs on a few devices.

Yes!! I got Onlive on my Prime and used my Wiimote. Very awkward and had to download the wiimote conroller app. I plan to get the Onlive contoller or get a wireless controller.
The new Batman looka amazing on the Onlive app! I had no lag either. I got 1 month FREE Player pack Bundle, which is normally $9.99. with a promo code from Chevy. Awesome app.
Riptide gp looks incredible on the prime and is fun to play. The tegra 3, does make a difference.

Onlive is great if you live in the US, hoping they get more servers across the shoreline. It's a brilliant idea and it's sure to do well.
Im looking forward to playing some GTA 3 (with revised graphics) on the Prime

The games you mentioned are OK. The highlights are Dark Meadow and the Pc games you listed. I'm looking for more hardcore oriented games now. I had ShineRunner on iPad. It was cool but same ol really. Riptide much better although same people make it. I'm getting tired of the kiddy oriented simple games. Bring Metro 2033 or Batman Arkham city. Or would love to see some over the top FPS, maybe something from Broken Sword series, or maybe a tegra3 version of Dead Space.
Like you said, a really good, in depth game will take at least a year to develop. Only thing is with as fast as these tablets come out with newer, more powerful hardware, the development has to be shorter. Unless made in advance to run on future hardware specs also. Until I seen OnLive, I've been sleeping on PC games. I was always more of console type gamer. I cant front though, the games I've seen for Pc are sick as a Mofo on OnLive. PC versions of console games usually better or better graphics n extras. Mobile platform gaming needs more hardcore oriented games. Games that take a good amount of time to beat. Has to be more in depth. I'd love for Bethesda to make an Elder scrolls version for us. I miss playing that game. I had it when it came out for xbox one, the Morrowind version.
I think OnLive may be our only access to these type of gsmes till developers start producing these type games. ShadowGun is cool but I have it for iPad n just about beat it. I need more than that. Bladeslinger looks cool but very similar to infinity blade, which I have infinity blade 2 already. I want more games like Dead Space. That game is very well put together n always scare the sh€£ outta me when playing. That's how into I be, especially when playing with headphones on. I understand a tablet is supposed tp be pick up n go type device, but we need a more I intimate gaming experience. For some people, this tablet will be the only form of gaming they have. Like me. I no longer have console systems. My iPad is my sole device to fulfill my gaming desires. I have all the best games, IMO. So along with being a productivity device, I hope the Prime can continue my love of gaming also. I know IOS has way more games, but I have e feeling the tegra3 will open doors to some serious games to come. We need more unreal and doom3 type engine powered gsmes. Those usually produce the best visuals and gameplay. I like the more simple games also but I'm really looking for games to really make you think and put up a great challenge..

I know right. I love those type action/horror games. I've never had a game like dead space scare me so much before..lol..n I loved it. Just looking for more engaging games that really pull you into the experience.
Grand Theft Auto 3 is coming this month, I thought tomorrow but not sure. I saw that added to the Tegra Zone today and Soulcraft
For me the best game is Dizzy, but you don't need Tegra3 for that, I know. Still, I hope more games like that will be available (and more Dizzy games get ported).

This was also said about Tegra3:
- Sébastien Deguy, CEO and Founder at Allegorithmic
“Tegra 3’s quad-core processor and 12-core GPU allows developers to port PC and console game titles using BitSquid Tech for the same great experience on any device. From a hard-core gamer’s customized PC to a phone or tablet with Tegra, you’ll get identical game play and buttery smooth graphics, anywhere any time."
- Benjamin Lee, Managing Director at Blowfish Studios
”Thanks to Tegra 3′s fantastic GPU performance we were able to use the same quality textures in Zombie Driver THD as on the PC. The outstanding quad-core CPU performance makes it possible to support Tegra game development in parallel to other high-end platforms.”
Some more details:
The GPU is also significantly more powerful than the Tegra 2 GPU, with up to 3x performance, while also adding other graphics features such as dynamic lighting, which they say no other current mobile GPU has that. Dynamic lighting makes for much more realistic environments and gaming experiences.
The game developers working on Tegra 3 games say that the 4 CPU’s help a lot with in-game damage effects, animated textures, weather effects and so on. So don’t be surprised if games made for Tegra 3 actually look better than other games made for other GPU’s, even if those GPU’s manage to get higher score in synthetic benchmarks (I’m looking at you A5/PowerVR SGX543Mp2).
Now this is very promising details!

Try
Crusade Of Destiny
Soul Saver 2 - Korean RPG with Zenonia-like graphics
SoulCraft THD
You can play PS1 RPGs using FPSE
Zenonia is wicked but Robotek is my main battery eater now
The World of Magic - good MMORPG
Irunner is an excellent game.
Temple Run is better
All those games are good but they take up too much battery. Any small games?
small games...
Burn the rope(+)
laufen laufen bär (run run bear)
Wind up knight
Spirit HD
PewPew2
Galcon
GalaxIR
Quell
Quell:Reflect
and that new game called Photon
all area really awsome..
else, rpg? GURK and GURK2!!! =D they shouldn't eat much battery and are extremely addictive xD!
I've been playing Defender and Defender 2. Pretty addictive. There must be lot's of games I haven't tried and I'd love it. too bad my HTC Desire screen won't make me enjoy it 100%. For example, I'd love to try SimCity style, Airport City where it's a progressive game but the screen size makes things kind of unconfortable.
Anyway, Defender and Defender II, Air Control, Airport Director (love it!).
Zenonia,Crusade of Destiny
play age of empires
Any game from Hexage is awesome especially Robotek, love that game
But if you like Zenonia 4 that much you should try Destinia, awesome graphics and imo better than zenonia if the storyline was longer.

I see alot of questions on here about "what widget is that" and "dude where did you get that wallpaper" The Post your ATT Note Homescreen thread has alot of them but going through 160 pages gets tiring...Same with games and such...So I decided to make one big thread with Games, Widgets, Wallpapers, and anything else...
Keep scrolling because there is alot but should be fairly easy to navigate.
Im actually going to break them up into posts in the same thread because this is alot of apps and info.
Note: I have ALOT of stuff and will be adding as I find more stuff or post apps I may have missed....I have a Note obviously so these are all apps I use on my note...I also will be adding links as well but I am only on my Phablet so bear with me..

The graphics are sharp and beautiful on my phone and the players experience has been awesome for me. Will edit if I run into that whole in app purchase thing I read about. EDIT: Computer at home broken and internet at work down I am having a bad time here but here is a list of more stuff
3D Rollercoaster Rush New york $$ : Awesome game with lots of playing time and boards. I have not gotten it to work for my note yet but I loved this game on my previous two devices. You control a rollercoaster going through the big apple and you decide the speed. There is a mode to just get through the course and a race after you complete the board.. Awesome fun.
Skater boy FREE : ANOTHER RUNNER? Yes but you are a skateboarder... fun times..
Bejeweled $$ - From EA sports they ported the computer classic over to mobile and it is still the best jewel breaking type game out there imho...
Slot mania FREE - SLOTS? BUT WHY? IF YOU CANT WIN ANY MONEY...NVM...for people that love to gamble religously but do not have the geographical advantage like myself(living 20 minutes outside atlantic city) this app is the best way to get your gambling fix without breaking the bank.
Deer hunter FREE/$$ - For all the rednecks out there...LOOKIN AT YOU TXREDNECK :good:  haha this game is a little rough as far as controls go but still decent for the low price and a good ol time.
City Jump Free - Another runner and an original
PES 2012 $$ - By far the best soccer game I have played. The thing is I do love Real Soccer and Fifa but they are either glitchy or do not support enough devices. That being said PES is a beast of a soccer game. I love the graphic, gameplay, and the overall realism of this game... Must have for any soccer fan.
Tikicart Free - Like mario kart, tikicart has paved the way for awesome cartoon racing for the note. Very simnilar to MarioKart but has its own unique twist. Love this game and until Nintendo stops slacking for mobile this will be my favorite "kart" game.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...rtfree&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
World of Goo $$ - A interesting new concept from an awesome game developer...The goo needs to be built to get to your goal pretty much..But it is way more challenging and entirely more complicated than that. It is an awesome game and a MUST HAVE
Home run Battle free/$$ - A homerun derby style game brought to you by all-star development team COM2US...They knocked this one outta the park(hahaha see what i did there?) This game has many features, endless gameplay, and a sweeeet head to head live battle mode. A MUST HAVE for baseball fans.
They need to be fed $$ - An interesting concept for a puzzle/adventure mash up..You control what I assume is a small animal. Your goal is to jump around the board and get to the obstacles to the larger creature at the end of the board to feed him. Awesome game.
Gunman Clive $$ - Bought this while it was on sale for .99 and I honestly would pay $4.99 for a game of this caliber. The graphics are awesome, gameplay is smooth as butta, and the concept is cool. Set in an old western you are a cowboy hero fighting your way through the wild wild west. If you love adventure games this is a MUST HAVE and even if you don't, try it anyway because the game is solid.
Cordy Free/$$ - This puzzle/jumper is one of the original gangstas of mobile gaming. This game burst onto the scene and then jumped out kind of quick as well. Regardless it still stole my heart and I always play this game to this day. MUST HAVE
Pac Chomp Free/In app purchase - This game is similar to bejeweled except it is AWESOME. By Namco, yea the people that developed pac-man, the game brings you a bejeweled feel with the pacman charcacters you love. This game is honestly better than bejeweled in every sense of the word. Get it you will not be disappointed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.namcobandaigames.pacchomp&feature=search_result
Smurfs Village Free/In app purchase - Build your own smurf village and watch the smurfs live. This game is a cute concept and offers a ton of gameplay. It is like those stupid facebook games except it is SMURFS so it is wayyy better :good:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.capcom.smurfsandroid&feature=search_result;
Beerpong HD Free - Now if you are gonna ask why the hell you would play beerpong without drinking I am right there with you. Except this game does offer the feeling of being drunk as the more cups you lose, the wobblier(MADE UP WORD) the shot gets.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeglue.BeerPong&feature=search_result
Traffic Jam Free - Puzzle game. You have the setup and you need to free one of the bricks from the board and get it into the "goal". I personally am a HUGE puzzle fan and this game occupies me for hours when I feel like a challenge.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jiuzhangtech.rushhour&feature=search_result
Pro Zombie Soccer $$ - THE ZOMBIE OBSESSION CONTINUES. You are pitted against a mob of angry zombies. Now your goal is to clear them out. Unlike every other zombie game in the world where you use guns, this game has you shooting soccer balls at them. The game is fun, and challenging. It is a one-of-a-kind game and well worth your money.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...egateam.prozombiesoccer&feature=search_result
Skater boy FREE : ANOTHER RUNNER? Hells to the yea. And it is a skateboard runner. Before temple run raped the market this was one of my favorites. Unfortunately have not had it on a phone in awhile but redownloaded it and fell back in love. Try it you will not be disappointed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5nYW1lLlNrYXRlckJveSJd
Bejeweled $$ - Ahhh my nemisis E.A. SPORTS comes at you with their classic Bejeweled. The gameplay is similar to the one we have all played before and it is a good port. I love Bejeweled but once again hate E.A. for their lack of support on the Note
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eamobile.bejeweled2_na_wf&feature=search_result
Slot mania Free - Slots? WTF BUT WHY? YOU CAN'T EVEN WIN MONEY. I know. I live near A.C. and my girlfriend loves to gamble. Games like this give you some good slot play without stinking like Atlantic City and without worrying you may get stabbed. Which is nice for a local.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...yLDEsImFpci5jb20ucGxheXRpa2Euc2xvdG9tYW5pYSJd
Sneezies Free - THIS GAME IS SO DAMN CUTE. LIKE ADORABLE. Make them sneeze and set off a Sneezies chain reaction. The more you make sneeze the higher score. It has a bunch of levels and this game is as fun as it is adorable.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.retrodreamer.Sneezies&feature=search_result
Youda Survivor Free - I have no idea what this is about. It was weird but I found myself playing it for at least a half hour. And then going back. Basically you do all the work to help the island dwellers survive. They reap the benefits from your hard work. But this game is fun and I found it hilarious.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.retrodreamer.Sneezies&feature=search_result
Pocket God Free - Ever wake up and think, "Hmmmm I THINK I WANNA THROW SOMEONE ACROSS THE OCEAN INTO A VOLCANO!!!!!"? Well this game is for you. Basically control the people that live on this island. Make them starve, throw them around, feed them to sharks. The sadistic possibilities are ENDLESS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ngmoco.pocketgod&feature=search_result
Barrrrr Free/$$ - You work at a bar and serve pirates. Due to the fact I worked in restaurants for seven years I do not condone this.

$$- https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5maXJlZHJvaWQuYmFycnJmdWxsIl0..
Pew Pew Free - Similar to the Atari classic space invaders. Don't know what either of them are? Please contact your nearest mod and have them delete you from xda.
Glow Hockey Free- AIR HOCKEY. Without the obnoxious noise or the gigantic table. This is a great air hockey game with the best gameplay out of any of them I have found on the market. Well worth the download if you love you some Air Hockey.
Tank hero Free/$$ - You are one tank and they pit you against enemy tanks. Maneuver(SPELL CHECK) your way around the board and destroy the enemy. This game is challenging yet simplistic in its idea. Good fun..
HAMBO Free - I love adventure games. And in this one you are HAMBO! GET IT? Rambo but a pig. HAMBO. Hilarious. The game is funny, with smooth gameplay. I love it. Everybody should try this once.
Logo Quiz Free - Honestly one of the most simple games on this list. They give you the logo, take parts out if it is obvious, and you guess. There are at least ten levels and hours of fun. I whipped this out at a party and had five people around me guessing.
Fruit Ninja Puss n Boots $$ - I LOVE PUSS n Boots....And I love this game. A fresh spin on a played out classic gives it new life. You are the fruit ninja, but you are the Cat from the Disney classic Shrek. Download this game because it is creative, original, and really just fun all around.
Dead Space $$ - Ya know this game has high ratings on the market but I never got around to liking it. I played the first level and wanted to throw my phone into the nearest wall. I didn't understand it and was confused. BUT I am confused quite simply so meh...Try it because it may be for you and it has good ratings and reviews.
MotoX Free - While 3D games flood the market I pray games like this do not lose thei ability to be loved and downloaded. It is so simple and reminds me of my childhood NES games. Press the button and he goes. Press too hard he falls backwards. So simple yet addictive and amazing gameplay. MUST HAVE
Super KO Boxing Free/$$ - AHHH Another nostalgic game. This game is in the likes of Mike Tysons Punch-out. Remember that game? You were Joe and you fought your way through the ranks up to fight Mike Tyson. Very similar but just be thankful nobody in this game bits. haha get it?
Blow Up Free - There is a house. You have a certain amount of dynamite. In this puzzle game your objective is to place the dynamite to make the house implode and fall to the ground to a certain level. This game is a top of the line puzzle game with a very addictive nature.
Trap it Free - This is another simple game. But one that you will not put down once you start. There are balls bouncing around the game. Make lines to seperate the balls and trap them. I LOVE THIS GAME. MUST HAVE. As it has hours upon hours of smooth, awesome gameplay.
Abduction Free - Remeber doodle Jump. Ya it is like that but a cow. And you are bouncing your way into the heavens. I do not understand why but it is fun and challenging once you get up there. Classic game for android.
Bonsai Blast Free/$$ - Staright from the description. "Shoot to match colored balls of three or more" And that is what it is. BUT more fun than it sounds. Switch the place of your shooter, use walls, and combos to make your way through the levels. I have gotten AWESOME feedback from anyone I have told to download this game. Glu Mobile brings yet another instant classic to android.

DREAM COME TRUE! This game is smooth, a classic android game, and must have for anyone who likes simple games that are awesome fun to kill time. MUST HAVE
Office Jerk Free/$$ - A predecessor to the above mentioned game, you are a jerk. And you throw various items of varying weight at what seems to be a stuck up loser in your office. A hilarious twist on an old android classic.
Toss It - Free - Same as above lol
Drag racing Free- But KFLAN22, WHY IS THIS GAME IN RED? because I LOVE IT
. You pit yourself against other droid users in a drag racing scenario. Pick your car, add custom colors and upgrades. This game is just one of a kind and will always be amazing. The dev upgrades regularly and there is no reason you should be reading my babble instead of downloading this right NOW. MUST HAVE
Drag Racing bike edition Free - I have not installed or tried this due to my obsession with the car edition. I heard it is the same deal but with bikes which sounds pretty sweet especially if you are more of a motorcycle person.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5jcmVhdGl2ZW1vYmlsZS5kcmFncmFjaW5nYmUiXQ..
Grand theft Auto $$ - Pretty good port. The graphics are good but I had issues driving with it. If you use Sixaxis it rocks. I would call this a fairly decent port but nothing super amazing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5yb2Nrc3Rhci5ndGEzIl0.
Draw something Free - Amazing and innovative. Gives you something to draw and your opponent has to guess it. I love this game ESPECIALLY being a note owner. The SPen makes it smooth and honestly the ability to crush your opponent using it is awesome.

Doodle Jump Free - Definitely an Android Classic. It was before its time one of the most amazing games available for our androids. People let this get buried but I still play it every once in awhile for nostalgic purposes. The game is a MUST HAVE especially if you never had it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5pVHJlZUdhbWVyLmdhbWUuRG9vZGxlRGFzaCJd
Doodle Dash Free - Running game again. Brought to you by the creators of doodle jump. It is a runner game but you jump and shoot your way through the levels. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5pVHJlZUdhbWVyLmdhbWUuRG9vZGxlRGFzaCJd
Flick kick soccer Free - Another soccer game where you are set to swype your way to victory. You are set up and use swype to shoot the free kick and make it past defenders, a goalie and into the goal. Awesome times especially for people who love soccer like me. Frontline Commando Free - I really let this slip away from me. You are a commando and you move along the bottom of your screen while waves of enemies set up. It is more or less a sharpshooting game with a good amount of weapons and other destructive features. Good for people like RANGERCAPTAIN that wanna stay frosty
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5nbHUubW9kd2Fyc25pcGVyIl0.
Air Penguin Free - A pressure based tap game where you make the penguin glide and soar through the boards. Very simple yet frustrating at times. I replaced this with Ski Resort and never looked back.

Paper Camera: lots of effects straight from your camera. It has really neat picture effects and can make some boring pictures extremely interesting. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=paper+camera&c=apps

Color Splash: This is particularly awesome for note users since we have the SPen. Use that or your finger to color or grey parts of your pictures. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsInNsaWRlLmNvbG9yU3BsYXNoRlgiXQ..

MUSIC AND RINGTONES
Streaming:
Pandora & Slacker. No need for any others honestly. Both now have ads but are awesome. They use a lot of data so be warned.
Also Spotify now allows streaming...haven't tested or used but always heard good things about it.
DatPiff if you like hiphop and streaming mixtapes.
Ringtones: these apps can make ringtones out of any mp3 file you have.
Ringdroid
Mp3 Ringtone Maker
Zedge
Music Players:
N7 Music Player: a different twist in style. Cool look can be difficult to navigate but love it.
Apollo & Walkman: Both are clean, simple, and awesome. My two usual suspects for playing music.
Realplayer: Used this for years for music. Still love the interface and simplicity but the rom I use came with walkman and past had apollo and I havent looked back
Google Play: kinda obvious
Music Identifiers:
Google Ears Googles music identifier. It is shazaam but by google. Don't have a link if someone wants to P.M. me with one I would appreciate it :good:
Soundhound I bought the full version for .99cents and haven't looked back yet from shazam. Mainly because it is paid for and offers more features than a free shazam,
Shazam I know the paid version is amazing. Lyrics, links, downloads etc. It is worth it to have all three of these cool apps that are the first of its kind.
Movies and Video:
Movie apps:
RunPee: tells you times to pee during a movie. Also tells whether to watch the credits or not. Useful if you go to a theater. It tells you when to pee and not only that but it gives you the exact situation to read while you are peeing so when you get back you know what happened. Also indicates when you should run and pee or get a snack/drink by telling you the exact line to leave at. MUST HAVE even if you go to the movies once in a while. I love this app.
Video Players:
I use MVideo and Mx to play movies on my note.
I like MX better because it has swype controls and its convenient. Also delivers a crisp picture :victory:
As far as watching movies I use Netflix, hulu+.
For movie info IMDB, Flixster, and Moviefone are the most useful I have found.
Note apps:
Quicknotes
Color Crayon
Smemo
SKITCH
All are useful SPen compatible and useful if running AOKP or AOCP
Sports Apps:
Widgets and score updates/ News
Sportscaster: Widgets useful
Espn Scorecenter: widgets useful
Edmondo: Another widget. I use all three and love them all.
NOTE: All allow you to pick your favorite sports and teams so you are not being bombarded with useless information about the team you hate.
These all are apps I use for Fantasy football and Sports news alike:
Flipboard
B/R Stream
Scoremobile
Edmondo Sports
Sportscaster
Thuuz Sports
Yahoo Sportacular
For ski reports: Ski&Snow reports.
FOR WATCHING LOVE SPORTS ON THE GO:
WATCH LIVE SPORTS: sports live stream
It is a free app in the market and it is super awesome for streaming games live. For any sport. I love it when I work on Sundays during NFL season... search sport live stream its by luckyappz

For icons and themes there are a lot floating around in xda.
I have found root toolbox to be helpful for changing boot animations and such.

FILE EXPLORERS!
ES File Explorer - Nice layout and easy to navigate. Good for changing permissions or just moving stuff around. Regardless I use this a lot.
Solid File Explorer Beta - the new kid on the block. I used ES religiously and still do but find myself heading to Solid more and more. As far as navigating ES is simpler and I use ES for my more complicated tasks but this is still in production and is SUPER promising. Guaranteed to be top notch when all is said and done
Astro - The first I ever owned. Not as clean as ES in my opinion and does not have the abilities ES shares but still good enough to get around with
Randoms:
FoxFi- for the non rooted user a way to tether. But utterly useless for those who are rooted.
Evernote- Hands down the most impressive note taking app out. Take picture, written, or recorded notes and view them by date, time or however you please. So simple and a must have. Even with the S-pen I use this to take notes.
Airdroid- WHY WONT MY PHONE CONNECT TO THE COMPUTER THROUGH USB??? Meh who cares. Airdroid allows you to remotely connect your amazing Droid to your computer via a website and code. While there, backup files, transfer them, or do whatever but this app is amazing I don't even care about a USB connection anymore.
Air Push detector WHY DO I KEEP GETTING THESE MESSAGES IN MY NOTIFICATION BAR? Um BC that stupid free game you downloaded to get free gold in DEAD TRIGGER is sending them. Well this app sniffs those bastard apps out and destroys them like the scum they are. Must have app.
Wow. That's a lot of information crammed into a few nicely organized posts.
Much appreciated, especially the commentary.

For streaming radio "TuneIn Radio" is simply the best. Except if you need to listen to a local Clear Channel radio program. In that case you will need "iHeartRadio".
Great thread!! But.....I don't get this live streaming sports app at the end of your first post. Seems to be an internet link that leads to nothing but ads and links to more ads. Not to mention this app sends out push notifications to your notification bar. Pure GARBAGE. Why would you even recommend such an app?? If you want some place better to watch all streaming sports then bookmark http://www.thefirstrow.eu in your browser. You will still have to deal with annoying ads but at least there is a definitive menu to pick the streams, and no airpush ads.
+1 on NBA Jam!!!!!
I have an .apk that pushes me to browser that takes me here:
http://www.sport-live-stream-app.com/online.html
Which pulls every live sports stream on the internet and lets you stream. I dunno wtf you downloaded but I didn't link you to anything so i dunno what is garbage. The one i use is called sport live stream and has never sent a push notification or linked me to an ad.

My thread of awesomeness(also my first thread): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29570977
I have decided to update this and add some more that aren't just co-op, but anything multiplayer. If any of you have any suggestions for other games that have similar functionality, please feel free to post them below!
All of the games below are local multiplayer, meaning you don't have to have a second device, or play online. A few tips to remember when playing Android multiple controller games. Android looks for any input device and will assign it as a controller. So if you have a mouse plugged in, or anything else in the USB port, some of the games will have difficulty recognizing the second controller. Another thing to remember is that it usually makes whichever player clicks on the app 1st, the 1st player. 1st player will usually have control in menus, and often times in games like JuJu, the screen will follow player 1 predominantly.
Without further ado, and in no particular order:
PAID
Stikbold! $9.99 - This game is great as a cooperative game, and it can be fun as a competitive game. It runs flawlessly on the SATV. You can play through the story together, or you can compete together against "bots" in single matches. You can also go one on one, or add bots to your respective teams and play against each other. It falls into a category of a fully developed game with no BS. Therefore they have to charge more to cover their development.
JuJu $9.49- JuJu is a fun side scrolling run and jump type game. Something like Mario Bro's Wii, your partner will even end up in a bubble if they die or fall behind. It's basic enough that kids can catch on quickly, but still fun and challenging for an adult. You get fun new abilities as you go. When I bought it was on sale for about half this price. I might keep an eye on it, as it may go on sale again.
Age of Zombies $.99- This game was a little too violent for the family, it's on here because some people might be more relaxed about it. It is fun, and for $.99 it's a good time.
Never Alone $4.99 - This is such a unique game. It has these beautiful videos taken right from native Alaskan people and culture. It's truly a cultural experience to play this game, but it's also a great co-op game. The girl and the fox have unique abilities, and it's great at building teamwork, but doesn't leave you frustrated. I highly recommend it.
Chariot $7.49 - This game is too expensive for me to wholeheartedly recommend. It's a decent game, and I would pay $3 for it. The voice acting is great, but the puzzles can be frustrating, and you really have to know how to work as a team. But it is a co-op multiplayer, and I did buy it and play it, so I put it here.
Meltdown $6.36 - There is a free version of this game in the play store, but the one that works on Android TV is $6. In my opinion, it's well worth it, it was super fun to play together. This one would be great for 4 players. The more you have, the easier it is. Saving up coins to unlock other characters is something that keeps you busy and gives you a goal to look forward too. The "arcade" mode, which is what you have to play for local multiplayer, isn't as developed as normal mode, but it's still worth the money in my opinion.
Trine 2 $4.95 - This one is a fun puzzle adventure. What makes it appealing is the different characters using their unique skill set to solve challenges as a team. The game is similar to an old SNES/Genesis game called Lost Vikings. If you remember/liked that, you will love this.
Riptide GP 2 $1.99 - I recently downloaded this one. It's fun but simple. It is a slow grind to get enough money to buy the good waverunners. The fun comes in leveling up which allows you to learn new skills/tricks. These tricks give you more boost and make it easier to win races. This is one of the few that supports 4 controllers, so if you happen to have 4, it's fun for the whole family.
Octodad $4.99 - This game kept popping up on the Shield carousel, and I kept ignoring it, because it looked so stupid. I finally caved because my son kept asking and I bought it. I didn't know it was actually multiplayer co-op! One of you can control certain appendages, like the legs, and the other can control the arms. The game is all about convincing people you aren't an octopus. The difficulty is you move like an octopus. The dialogue and voice acting is AAA, and the game is actually hilarious. But more than that, it's not just a silly time waster, it's a good challenging puzzle type game. It's great fun as a co-op campaign.
Heroes of Loot 2 $3.99 - This is a fun little dungeon crawler that can be played with 2 controllers. Gameplay gets a little repetitive. The graphics are poor by design, but they do give you that nostalgic feeling. Each player chooses 2 characters that they switch between to use their different abilities. If you like the old school top down games, this is a good one.
OUYA collection $4.99 - $7.99 - The OUYA (may it rest in peace), actually had a great focus on this type of gaming. So many of the games developed for it seemed to be all about playing with a friend or 3. The only one in this collection that's actually co-op is Mercenary Kings. But, the only one that doesn't support multiple controllers is I am Bread. So I figured I would throw the whole list here.
Siegecraft Commander $9.99 - A lovely real time strategy game. This is an homage to the original Warcraft. Great voice acting, game play, and graphics. I can't remember exactly how cooperative it is, but I do know it supports multiple controllers and makes for a fun family game night.
Tennis Champs $2.99 - Someone in the thread mentioned Tennis Champs. This is a remake of a classic Amiga game. It's fairly simple in it's mechanics and gameplay. I personally would rather load up Mario Tennis for N64 using MupenFZ. But you can play some doubles on the same team, or play competitively against the computer in this.
Killing Floor: Calamity $4.99 - Another one that is too violent for my purposes. But it's a top down zombie shooter with plenty of blood and destruction. It can be played with two players cooperatively.
Jackbox Party 1-4 $24.99 - I haven't actually played these games, but those that have say this is a great set of party games. I believe you can use controllers, but I do know some of the games have people use their own mobile device to interact. In any case, it is a game where multiple people play together in the same room.
Cublast HD $4.99 - I have no personal experience playing this, but I intend to buy this one. It looks like it could be a lot of fun with two people. It's an arcade puzzler with a level editor. The two player mode looks to be a sort of competitive co-op. You can download maps created by internet users as well.
NEO TURF MASTERS $3.49 - A retro arcade golf game. You could play this through an emulator, but this is definitely easier, and probably worth the $ if you are into this game. It's hot seat multiplayer, not simultaneous, but could be great fun with a friend.
Hotlap Heroes $3.99 - A top down arcade racing game. It reminds me of a game I used to play in the arcade that had a red, yellow, and blue steering wheel called "Off Road".
Ice Rage Hockey $1.99 - Very simple hockey game, but surprisingly fun. It's probably just slightly more complex than an air hockey simulator might be, because it's just one on one. But, if you buy this for Android TV, it will also work on your phone or tablet for 2 player because the virtual controls are simple enough to fit both on a screen.
Ultimate Chicken Horse $11.99 - This is a console quality game. You and your friends build an obstacle course together. The objective is to build something that you can pass, but they can't. It's a bit of a slow start as far as competitive games go, but once the course starts to take shape, you can see the strategic masterminds start to stand out. It's pricey for Android, I think it's fair for the amount of development that went into it.
Pix the Cat $4.99 - This is without question my FAVORITE competitive local multiplayer game available for Android! Playing pix with 4 people is insanely fun! The gameplay is fast paced, strategic, but also very easy to learn and get good at. I have had matchups between 3 grown men and my 10 year old niece where she was able to hold her own. I highly recommend this one for a party game. As an added bonus there is a single player mode. The two modes might as well be completely different games, so you could say you are getting a 2 for 1.
Natural Soccer $3.49 - I haven't personally played this one, but the description on the Nvidia store says it supports 4 controllers for local play. The reviews aren't great, but for what it's worth most of those seem to be coming from mobile screens, and what negative reviews there are, the developer seems to be very responsive to.
FREE or Ad Supported
Neon Shadow - This is a first person shooter. What makes this great for me is it's not terribly violent. You are killing artificial intelligence robots, there is no blood, just explosions, and the multiplayer split-screen works really well. Levels may be a little repetitive, but it's super fun. I don't know how intrusive the ad's are because I paid for this app when it wasn't ad-supported.
Beach Buggy Racing This is hands down one of my favorites. I believe you do have to spend $5 or so to unlock multiplayer mode. But this game is well worth it. If you ever liked any kart racing games, this is an incredibly fun racing game that will give you hours of enjoyment. The truth is it's not really co-op, because you aren't a team. But you aren't really against each other exclusively, since you are trying to beat all the other racers. I find it's a great one to play with a friend.
Badland - Fun game that is very simple to play, but difficult to master. It supports up to 4 players, but it's really fun with just 2. This one again is a game with such an easy learning curve, anyone in the family can play.
Bombsquad - This one is harder to pickup out of the gate. But it's a very fully developed game. It wasn't something a developer threw together in a few weeks. It has great physics, and complex gameplay. It is a freemium model and I can't remember if you have to pay to unlock multiplayer. If so, then I categorized it wrong. It requires a lot of teamwork to pass the challenges because they can be difficult and you can easily end up bombing your teammate.
Duck Game Demo - I love this game. It's a battle arena game. But, it's not found on the play store, and I feel like it deserves an audience. Special thanks to shadywhere and a list of games from him, on Reddit. The whole demo thing will make you feel like you are really missing out. But don't worry, the full version isn't that much more amazing. The demo still provides plenty of free fun.
Stickman Soccer 2016 - This one is a really simple, but well done soccer game. You can join the same team, which makes it much easier to set up crosses into the box. It's ad supported, but very smooth for a free game.
Stickman Soccer 2018 - This is an improvement on gameplay from 2016, but it turned into a cash grab. It's trying to mimic FIFA Ultimate Team and get you to spend money upgrading your squad. The multi-controller mode is tucked away in quick match. You may have to pay for an IAP to unlock it, I can't remember. But, I think the minnimum is $2 and it removes the ads, and might unlock the game. It also only supports 2 controllers now and not 4, but the gameplay is still excellent. If you can ignore all the obnoxious stuff.
Dead Effect 2 - I haven't actually played this one, and there seems to be some sort of trick to unlocking multiplayer https://steamcommunity.com/app/394760/discussions/0/412447331646891466/? I don't know if this is applicable to Android as well as the Steam version. This one is unfortunately too violent for my family console. If someone wants to give it a run and report back with results, I will update the thread.
Sky Force Anniversary - This is a classic arcade blaster. It's fun, but can be a little repetitive. The upgrading system is a little complicated. But it is the type of game that's a lot more fun with a friend than without.
Zombie Show - Haven't played this one, but it looks like a zombie apocalypse racer. It is rated M.
Bomber Friends - Bomberman clone, but it does support local as well as online multiplayer. It looks like from the reviews this game might be a bit of a cash grab. I personally might get an emulator and emulate bomberman 3 for the SNES first, but if that's not your thing, maybe this is.
Eternal - This is a strategy card game, something like Magic the Gathering maybe. It's not really my thing, so I don't have a lot of experience with it, but maybe those who do can comment.
Clash - Fun battle arena game that is completely free. No IAP, no ads, just a totally free game. There is no single player mode, and no co-op, but the multiplayer competitive is fun and entertaining, and easily worth the $0 you will pay.
Real Racing 3 - Realistic looking racing game. Reminds me of Gran Turismo from back in the day. You have to play through the single player tutorial, and you get a car. Once you have done that, then you can play "party mode", which should be a little icon at the top. One problem I have on the Shield Pro is that it recognizes the IR receiver as a controller. If you happen to be using a universal remote with IR, it will actually drive the car. But, any other connected gamepads will be automatically assigned. On the non-pro shield, you shouldn't have the same problem.
Tiny Little Racing 2 - Basic little racing game. Kind of like Micro Machines.
Hey thanks for this breakdown man! I live with my girlfriend and am in a similar boat. We already play JuJu together, good fun. Also Lego Avengers in 4k, but that's not comin from the Shield.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but how did you get Gang Beasts to work? It doesn't show in Nvidia Game Stream (I have to access it via Steam), and I have the issue where the first controller controls everyone.

You have to enable multi-controller by holding the "start" button, then choosing the three dots in the right corner, and enabling multi-controller. It will look something like this.

If you have already done that, then I usually go with the classic advice of just restarting everything. Restart the PC, and the shield. Then make sure all the controllers you are using are connected BEFORE launching the steam gamestream app.
If you have done that, and it's still not working, try looking at the settings you have in Steam. Under Steam>settings>controller settings. It opens in "big picture mode" and has a number of options to try to determine what the problem is.
Hi, maybe there were created more good local multiplayer Android games with gamepad support since the publishing of the post?

Bombsquad - This one is harder to pickup out of the gate. But it's a very fully developed game. It wasn't something a developer threw together in a few weeks. It has great physics, and complex gameplay. It is a freemium model and I can't remember if you have to pay to unlock multiplayer. If so, then I categorized it wrong. It requires a lot of teamwork to pass the challenges because they can be difficult and you can easily end up bombing your teammate.

Bombsquad doesn't require to pay to unlock multiplayer. A great game btw.
There are more local multiplayer games out right now, but still we could use some more decent quality titles.
Personally I highly recommend Sky Force Anniversary - the best high quality old school shooter for android. It is awesome in 2 player mode.
Ones I have not tried yet:
Tennis Champs - I believe it supports local multiplayer. I played it in the old days on Amiga and it was fun (like 4 player fun!)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jakyl.tcr&hl=en
If you know other titles, please keep them coming.

I found a few more and added them to the list. As I find more I will keep adding them.
List Maintenance
The links for Stikbold!, Age of Zombies, Chariot, Siegecraft Commander, Killing Floor: Calamity, NEO TURF MASTERS, Duck Game Demo, and Clash seem to be broken.
I would like to add a few:
Auralux: Constellations - Strategic space battle with a relaxing soundtrack. Up to four players order their forces to other planets with the goal of wiping out everyone else. It has enough free levels to learn the techniques and strategies, or to play casually on a games night. Full sets of levels are for sale but purchasing all of them is pricey.
Cardcast - Apples to Apples type game where a player chooses the card they prefer from those secretly submitted by the others. The game is silent, which means you will need to add your own narration to make things more fun. Many types of games use the I Hope They Pick My Card style (such as Cards Against Humanity) and there are additional card packs available for purchase. It uses Chromecast, so, like the Jackbox Party Packs, players use devices rather than controllers.
Stickman Base Jumper 2 - Jump from tall places and try to stick the landing. This game has one-button control, so it is very quick to learn. It uses Pass-and-Play for multiple players in Party Mode, which means only one controller is necessary. Level and player selection are a bit awkward. Even so, it is a lot of fun to watch your friend's skydiving efforts fail tragically in a variety of ways.
Hi who can share this game? Chariot its missing on play store.
pls help find CHARIOT
