I'm on lupohirp's cm9 beta4. i created a secondary partition for data2sd but the phone just doesn't mount it, i tried link2sd, darktremor data2sd , but none recognize the partition?
Is this the problem with everyone or just me?
Any help?
I have tried all the formats i.e fat32/ext2/ext3 but to no avail
How did you partitioned it? Try it like this (using AmonRa recovery) - this celly is quite different, but idea is same...

I tried to create an ext partition for a2sd. But the script says that a2sd is not mounted. I partitioned my card with rom manager.
In last roms a2sd was working. Now I use openOptimus, with paolo v6 kernel. Please help!!
since you used rom manager, im assuming you are using clockworkmod.
clockworkmod only supports ext4. check to see if openoptimus supports ext4
I just returned from my brief test-run with DarkTremor ... because it basically trashed my phone (in collaboration with TitaniumBackup). At one point I couldn't get the partition to mount anymore either, so I reinitialized the partition table with parted. At the very least it will allow you to check the partition for errors and rule that problem out.
Like I said, eventually everything fell apart again for me, but it's still worth a try.
Yesterdey I flashed my phone with both GingerDX V15 + modules (stock rom), and today MiniCM7 Pro (paul-xxx). My problem is that in neither one of them I can use my SD-EXT partition to install programs, etc... I partitioned my sd with CWM. Everything is ok: CWM recognizes the partition, programs like Titanium, S2E, link2SD, etc, all of them recognize the sd-ext partition. But in Cyanogen configuration options, in applications settings, I only have 3 options "Internal, SD Card, Automatic), and the next option, "Extended internal", I think, which I assume that's the SD-EXT partition, is grey... I Can't select it. Like if it wasn't recognized. Even when I connect it to my pc, all partitions are recognized. Another weird thing is that I think that dalvik-cache is being written there...
Long story, short: my sd-ext partition exists, its recognized by all kind of applications, but Cyanogenmod settings doesn't recognize it.
I know that I can use my FAT partition to install programs, but I want to use my ext, keep things separated...
Thank you in advance
i have never used s2e before have used link2sd but it gave me some issues (started saying sdext readonly error), now i formated my sdext partition and i installed s2e moved only applications to my sdext but whever i try to install an apk it reboots just the interface of cm7 i am on FAT cm7 i even searched about this and even edited my moutsd script where it says ext4 to ext3 but still it keeps on rebooting can someone tell me what to do ?
my sdext is ext4 i did it with mini partition tool cant figure out what is wrong can someone help me
You may wan to try reflash the ROM. I always install S2E first when I flashed a new CM7 rom.
S2E doesnt work on the new CM9 nightly. Tried wiping everything!

I'm not familiar with that ROM, but I just glanced at the discussion thread, and there are instructions/advice for using apps2sd. Have you read that?

I had the same problem.I did this and it worked. It's simple just create the partition again
First backup all the data of SD card
then install Amnora recovery as mentioned in GTR rom by neko95.
Reboot into recovery
Then in partition set value 0 in both partition n swap, you'll have a blank SD with it's full capacity
Then again partition as your wish.
Then copy all the backed up data.
Then open S2e
it'll be able to detect the created partition
Hope i helped!!
yes, use amonra...clockwork's default to ext3/ext4....forget which one or maybe both....if you want specifically ext3 for whatever reason that might be, use amonra than partitition than upgrade from ext2 to ext3 in the partition portion of amonra recovery
ok, i think to have undestanded.
When i have an hour free i try to do this, with amonRa.
Thank you a lot
Hi,
I thought the feravolt Tom were compatible with EXT4, but the android does not find my SD... formatted with gparted.
I read that I had to format it in extra under xrecovery, but nothing about extra in it...
Some one knows?
for the xrecovery question i believe its in partition tools => format SDcard
for the ext4 i do not know sorry tried it myself once and noticed it did not get detected so i went back to Ext3
How did you manage to get ext3 working then?
i used this guide http://www.thespicygadgematics.com/2012/05/how-to-create-second-partition-on-micro.html
hope it helps.
and secondly i hope im not stearing you wrong?
you want to use this "extra" partition for apps yes ?
Well, if I could just not use fat32 anymore, that would be the best!
Anyway, I will give a try
