IMHO CM9's jokersax http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php
They all are pretty similar, since most of then are based on jokersaxs drivers.
It all comes down to, if you want CM9, MIUI (i'd recommend momo's version
but I haven't tried Stevendebs latest version so I could be wrong), CNA, or AOKP
im using Project kitchen sink (cm9,miui,cna,aokp,gummy, plus tons of options) v1.3 4/24 and is very stable , the battery is not drain to fast..
+1 on the Kitchen Sink. Lots of ROMS/Configs to choose from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603925

i would like to be sure
Every rom Freaking sucks! The best is to Use the stock one! What im saying is that every rom has its bugs so every rom is bad.
Bionix 1.3.1 is the best Rom for me ,everything works and its smooth and fast.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925548
Bionix 1.3.1 is the most stable and time-tested but its pretty outdated.
CM7 if you want updated and decent stability (though theres that e911 issue)
The ICS Roms are very smooth and stable enough for me, ICS is amazing!
im using the ICS passion with the glitch karnel . battery sux ;/

Glitch is a PREVIEW kernel and doesn't officially support anything besides CM9.
I don't think dev was too concerned about battery life for a preview, just implementing new features.
Thanks
Damnn now im like lost, idk what to flash, i want something , something fast, and that the battery wont died quick, I tried,
Trigger + Overstock = Worked great.
Bionix + Overstock = Worked great.
Crazy8 + Immortality = Worked Great.
now idk which one to pick lol
I've tried the Passion ICS rom and it is superb but I miss the Samsung Camera app.
Is there any SGS II stable port?
If not, Im gonna download the most stable modified stock rom, I'm thinking of Bionic, correct me if Im wrong.
Bionix with overstock is quite the dream.. if flashing unstable stuff isnt your cup of tea, you can't go wrong with that combo

Dominance
Unfortunately there hasn't been a perfect 2.2.1 rom yet!
been using the lithium 360 for the past month or more. have liked it better than the generic CM series, but that's gone away now anyway. I'm liking the MIUI based setups though. Maybe it's the different perspective of dropping the Apps menu driven system like so many other interfaces still have.
Been seriously pondering loading the Passion ICS for a while, but may wait until it comes off beta.
if i installed cm6.1 or cm7.1 with the same flykernel, would anyone have an opinion as to which phone would be generally more solid/speedy?
i feel a bit frustrated by my experience with cm7.1 and all the ginger based roms, but it seems that many are wowed by the performance.
just looking for some opinons. thanks
i find myself in a similar situation, and am currently on the Heroine++ rom for the sake of speed, but it is quite outdated, and i've been wanting a good 2.2 rom.
anyway, from my expericen, everybody is wowed by 7.1.0 only because of how slow it used to be, it really has come a long way since GB for hit our heros, but it is still a tiny bit too slow and laggy for my liking, and i had some issues with the in call UI not responding fast enough, so i couldn't always answer phone calls or the phone would still vibrate/ring after i'd answered it.
as far as kernel goes, older roms such as 2.1 are better on the older kernel, and newer roms such as GB will probaby be expecting a newer kernel, and therefore run better with it. but i'm not sure how stable the lastest venturas/venturax is compare to flykernel.
anyway, I am rambling.
in short, i think the older roms 2.1/2.2 are the only solid and speedy roms we have, GB is still a bit too slow.
(shame that the least developed roms currently are the 2.2, espcailly the 2.2 sense roms)
Flykernel and cm6.2 cm6.1 ftw, seriously.
I've been alternating between floyo and froydvillain for a while. Froyd is slightly more smoother imo.
And then I put bharat's FroYo port on. It has been VERY good so far. There is even a great ICS theme for it by habarug. Check it out with flykernel.

How's it working for you?
Sent from my HTC Hero using Tapatalk
it's working alright, i do occationally get a force close though.
i'm not sure how the other froyo roms are set up, but this one comes with dithering off, which could explain why it feels snappier (slows down a bit if i turn on the dithering)
finding several apps to do the job of sense is pretty hard though =/ fast dialers on the hero are few and far between.
doubt i'll change it any time soon, unless i break something or chocolatefroyo gets it's carmera fixed.
good rom, not sure how different the froyo roms are though (i have no idea what happpened between cm 6.1.3 and 6.2.0)
anyway this is a little off topic now.
I recommend touchpal dialer
sent with love from me to you

it was my understanding that there was only cm6.1 and cm7.1?
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version#HTC_Hero_.28GSM.29
for the record my current situation is running cm6.1 with flykernel 13, and using setcpu to overclock. i would say it it like a racecar compared to my experiences on 7.1
still open to thoughts if anyone wants to continue discussing this. ultimately i just want a rock solid phone that is as snappy as possible, and i get frustrated when trying out roms that have various features that work poorly. as a result i have mostly stuck to CM stable releases.

Hmmm, I see your link says otherwise. When I made that statement I was just reading the CM version from the ROM I currently was running. FroydVillain I think. I just re-checked the build.prop and think I got the CM version and the Android OS version mixed together. Whoops.

There happens to be some froyo roms which are based on 7.2, i think FroYo is and Speedmachine. Floyo 1.2 is 7.1 and 1.4 is 7.2

Till two days ago I was also using 6.2.0 speedmachine (after testing lot of GB ROMs), and then I installed 2.3.7 LiGux:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1435655,
it is using LV kernel, and I must say that it is fast and look very nice (thanks to Lirasina ICM theming).
Where can I get more info on the ICS Roms?
I can't tell the difference between any of them since all the threads are basically named the same.
I'm looking for a plain as possible, newest build ICS.

Well, really you only have a few options.
First of all, you have the KANGs. These are ROMs compiled from CM9's source code. These are basically the same as CM9 nightlies, but they appeared much sooner. The only other option besides KANGs and nightlies is AOKP, which is ICS with some extra modifications. Nightlies and KANGs also have the devices name in the thread (wifi only or 3g).
Since you said you just want a plain and newest possible build, you should choose either the nightlies or the KANGs, whichever is newest. And of course, you should flash the one for your device .

Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks guys.
Hi guys...
I've just got my Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 3G...
So I'm newbie to Samsung or Tablets but I have Motorola Defy and I'm quite into changing ROMs and stuff...
Can anyone here suggest me some good, stable, great battery life, awesome speed, no bugs ROM?
Are those ICS versions with working camera? As I've seen some does have camera bug.
Is it worht trying to install ICS or should I find some good solid Honeycomb instead? (recommend any?)
Tnx...
If you want a fast stable ROM I would suggest Task 14.
I've been running CM9 ICS from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425631 for the past couple days though and I'm loving it. Camera won't work in any ICS ROM. I don't use the camera though so that doesn't bother me. This ICS ROM is the best ROM I've ever used for connecting to our Cisco VPN concentrator at work.
I've had a couple app freezes and 1 random reboot but other than that I haven't seen any issues.
Sorry for the silly question, i just unlocked the new Atrix and im looking for good Roms besides Darkside, ninja, aura, cm7, neutrino and miui...
Anything good ? Is the latest ICS rom by jokersax good enough for a daily use ?
Thank you
Haven't been here in a while since my last atrix broke.
I flashed AOKP last night... Runs very well...
[ROM][ICS]Atrix-AOKP-Milestone 5.1 + TabletUI - 03/05/12
We traditionally don't allow these threads, because no one ROM is necessarily better than the other. It's all opinion.
My girlfriend has a DX2, rooted it for her a few months back so I'm not really up to date with any new DX news. I'm looking at the forums and there is a lot of new information, a lot to take it. What is the most stable ROM out right now, something that can be used everyday?
Eclipse 2.1/2.2

CM 7.2 RC1 has been extremely stable for me application wise. I would highly recommend it.
eclipse 2.2 is pretty damn stable but i prefer cm7 or even cm9 now. imo cm roms have more goodies
In all honesty don't flash cm9 expecting stability...

It's an alpha release. There's more bugs than working features...OP is asking for an all around STABLE ROM. Probably shouldn't point him towards an alpha release... I swear all of these people saying it's just as stable as cyanogenmod7 are under the placebo effect.........
[email protected] OP - I tried CM7 and loved it. Flashed CM9 and yeah it's really buggy right now, but give it some time and devs will iron all that stuff out. Tons of potential, just not there yet. As of right now though, steer clear if you're looking for a 100% stable ROM. Once I played with 9 for a bit and went back to 7 I felt like it was the most stable ROM in the world. I Actually had to check the Cyanogenmod7.2 thread to remember the issues with it lol.
Well today I SBF'ed and tried eclipse. I have to say, you can't really customize it as much as CM7 but it is hands down a very reliable daily driver. Some people have wifi issues with it, but I don't- so I really have nothing bad to say about it.
CM9 - Not so much for stability
CM7 - Stable(beta) - My personal DD
Eclipse - Stable...Awesome, just not my cup of tea
Plus let's face it. This is for your GIRLFRIEND after all, right? You think she wants a working phone? Or a buggy one? Because I'm pretty sure YOU are the one that's gonna hear it if she has problems. I would imagine flashing CM9 on her X2 will put you in the doghouse pretty damn quick.

I found CM 7.2 to be very stable when I used it. The only issue that I ever had with it was the wifi would sometimes only connect when when I went into settings.
And honestly, CM9 has been working great for me too, I know it is still alpha but i have had 0 issues so far.
I've been running CM7 RC1 for just over a week now and I LOVE it! This was my first time rooting and installing a ROM and I couldn't be happier. SOOOO much better than stock in every way and solid as a rock. I haven't had a single random reboot since installing it - whereas I used to get several a week on the stock ROM. If the phone had run this good out of the box, I probably never would have tried to modify it. I had planned to try Eclipse just to check it out but I like CM7 so much, I'll probably just stick with it. I'll probably flash CM9 once it matures some and reaches beta.
Eclipse 2.2, or as someone suggested, just a rooted, carefully debloated official 2.3.5.
Fyi, something as intermediate as removing bloat can make the phone unstable, ie, start removing the wrong authentication services, etc.

I'm running Eclipse 2.1 with Zepplinroks scripts. It's very nice!
