Caller ID on CM7? - Motorola Droid X2

It seems not working on CM7 RC1 for me. Anyone else?
Stock ROM: Number, Name, City
CM7: Number only

The stock ROM has CityID on it, which provides the name of the city to which that number is registered. CM7 does not.. ALL cell providers ONLY provide cid-number, as then they don't have to pay for the access to the subs registry.

[Q] Google Voice on a Cricket Eris

ATTN: Anyone with their Eris on Cricket -
Has anyone here successfully set up Google Voice on their Cricket flashed phone?
I'm attempting to get my ex-gf's set up with Google Voice. As you go through the setup process, and hit 'Activate', after a short minute or two, the activation Fails, with a message citing that Google Voice was unable to detect a valid phone number for the phone (implying the ACTUAL number, not the 'Voice' number).
(note: this is Plain Jane v1.0 (shouldn't matter), all PST settings in place properly, and the cricket_web_mms_v9.zip flash from Token419)
My next efforts will include taking /data/data/com.google.android.apps.googlevoice/shared_prefs/com.google.android.apps.googlevoice_preferences.xml and editing it in WordPad to include her phone numbers instead of mine.
Then I'm going to copy the whole com.google.android.apps.googlevoice folder from my /data/data into her /data/data, and reboot the phone.
My HOPE is that the number just needs to be thrown into this .xml file, and nothing more.
Has anyone else had any trouble with this, or needed to play with .xml files to get this to work? If so, did you set it up to work on Google.com/voice with a full web browser (computer) first, THEN set it up on the phone? Or did you use the phone first.
I will report my success rate here whenever I see her (hopefully this week?), but until then, I thought I'd see if someone found something more efficient or reasonable to do to get this to work (since what I'm doing seems a little excessive!)
Thank you in advance, ladies and gentlemen.
-Paul
Have you done the full flash outlined in this thread?
http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...o-Flash-to-Cricket-with-Talk-Text-Wap-and-MMS
I was actually the first one on any of the forums to get MMS working on Cricket on our phones.
I did it by figuring it out (not using a method from any other phone).
And yes, all PST settings are in place 100%, and the cricket web MMS v9 flash is flashed to the phone, 100%.
More specifically, from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730289
Cricket's forwarding commands are different than what is pre-programmed on Gtalk. I don't recall exactly, but I think instead of #740 to forward, it's #720 for Cricket....that may help...I got it set up right away after figuring that out.

Right, but that's not the problem.
Forwarding everything to Google Voice is not the problem at all. It's *73 and *74 and so on, virtually the same as Sprint.
The problem isn't using Google Voice the way some people use it, by having it text you, and using the web site.
The problem is, SPECIFICALLY, with the Google Voice app. When opening it for the first time, it tells you that it can't detect your phone number. In other words, your normal Cricket phone number.
I'm looking to have her put on the Google Voice app, so that instead of getting texts with your transcribed voice mails (many minutes after the voice mail), that the app brings it through the internet (like it does for me, on Verizon).
Without the Voice app, Google Voice might as well be like it is on the iPhone (since the GV+ app sucks), which is basically the same as a Dumb Phone uses it.
Bump? On mycricket.com they tell how to do unconditional call forwarding. So I know its possible. Although I don't see a feature under features in mycricket.com. So BuMp any got this working with Cricket?
Thanks,
MM

Caller ID shows up as "Pay Phone"

I'm on Fido (Rogers) in Canada and I've never seen this before. When a call comes in with a blocked caller ID it shows up as "Pay phone" I've also received several callers that say their caller ID is not blocked and it still shows up as "Pay Phone" I didn't have this issue on my Samsung Vibrant.
Suggestions?
Google it son... call em and disable name display.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
Googled it the first time but obviously didn't have my search terms correct. Narrowing the parameters brought up a forum.
This is not good, I'm not sure FIDO will be able to disable the name display becuase it's part of my value pack....plus I quite like having name display on my phone.
Hopefully there is a custom rom soon that also fixes this issue!

Anyone runing Tripnraver MiUI 1.8???

I have a problem since day he releassed the rom your "message has no valid recipients cannot send this message" any help woild be highly appreatiated. Thanks in advance
I tried adding +1 in front of the number, they are all mobile contacts and I tried erasing whole contacts and adding one number at the time but still no luck.
It's a problem with the MiUI build he was running. It's not just him, it's the actual base MiUI ROM that it's based on. Reading the forums there, it's still an issue to this day.
What you gotta do is remove all the brackets, dashes, spaces, etc, to make the number one long continuous thing. So instead of, for example, (403) 555-1212, you gotta make it +14035551212, no spaces, dashes, anything. AND you gotta have the + and country code (Canada and USA is 1).

Best ROMs for Evo 3D on Boost Mobile

This thread is to compile a list of ROM's that work well on Boost Mobile flashed Evo 3D's. Please post any tested ROM's that you can contribute, and I'll add them to the OP.
It's important that we contribute ROM's that have all important functions working, including MMS and voicemail notification.
Please DO NOT submit ROM's that require us to install 3rd party MMS or voicemail notification apps.
When contributing a ROM, please include a link to the ROM developer.
Thanks

Question, isn't it possible to make just about any rom work with boost? To my understanding I thought you just had to do some modding the apn and whatnot and there you go. I know some Roms (like miui by dh) come with boosts apn already configured into it. If that's the case are you looking for Roms that all ready have the work done for you or are you looking for the best Roms to do the work on? Or both? Lol sorry just curious.

I know Viper3d has on option when installing that lets you choose the carrier and boost mobile is on there. I'm flashed to boost also and i can tell you that almost all roms work with it(if you know what youre doing, just change apn).
Only thing that doesn't work is sprint voicemail app not downloading voicemails but i dont think Boost has that yet

Yes, it is possible, but looking for the ROM's that already have the Voice Mail Notification working and the correct APN settings or a selection like he mentions below that will do the config for you.
I thought I would start a thread to make them all listed in one place.
Thanks for the input like the MIUI by DH.

Thanks for the input on Viper3d.
The hope is to gather a list that includes the VM Notification working and as you mention about the APN settings.
Thanks
@Malvarez92 - I've not had luck with Viper3D ICS ROM. It never makes it past the initial HTC screen on the first boot. Do you have a link to the ROM that will work?
@gadgetdaddy - I just tried out Elegancia ICS ROM from htcevohacks.com. Very nice ROM, however I can't use it since it doesn't have a camera at all. Even the most basic nonsmart phones have that.
The ROM I've been using which I believe is the best I've seen so far for the EVO 3D is Newts One S RC3. It is an ICS ROM and only thing not working is 3D pictures. From what I hear that is status quo for ICS on EVO 3D tho.
I'd like to find a nice GB ROM with even has 3D pictures working. Last one I used was Infected Rom 1.4.2, but I had to replace the Phone.apk file to get native vm to work.
I beg to differ on 3D pictures on ICS. d3rpICS-inbREDed-5.4 has working 3d pics. I'd love to get native voicemail working on it. APN Settings can be fixed easily and someone in that thread is submitting the details for another prepay carrier so that they can get it added to Aroma. If only I knew how to fix the native voicemail.....
Any Sense ROM that has EPST codes working can work on Boost Mobile because you can change your MMS server using the ##3424# code as long as you know your MSL.
Also any AOSP ROM as long as you follow the instructions in my AOKP Jelly Bean thread (2nd post) would work on Boost Mobile
I don't see a need for this thread BUT to each's own I guess...HAHAHAHA

While any rom can be used for MMS with very little modification, the original post also stated voicemail notifications without a 3rd party app. ASOP and other non sense roms have this because it is standard for android. However, the EVO 3D roms mostly come with only visual voice mail because that is how a majority of 3D users access voice mail. So while you may think that any Rom can be used for boost, the idea of this thread is for a WORKING boost Rom that requires NO 3rd party apps for MMS *or* voicemail notifications. I actually find this thread quote helpful.....

Hopefully you don't think I meant any disrespect BUT from reading your post, I think you did...HAHHAHA
Let me make a few things clear before I just let this be and move on.
1. I've been on Boost Mobile for about two years and have several devices flashed to Boost Mobile. With that said, I know what I'm talking about here........not just doing a drive by post. What I've said is backed up by experience and facts not just opinions
2. AGAIN, my post was not meant to be disrespectful towards the OP so there wasn't a need to come off defensive. I was simply stating that if you put in 1-2 minutes of effort into it.......every ROM works 100 percent on Boost Mobile....i.e MMS, Voicemail notifications, etc. Why clutter up the general section even more for something that serves no purpose? Should we start up a thread on how to change your wallpaper on different ROMs?? LOL
BUT this little back/forward is useless in itself and to be honest, I got better things to do. Arguing about whether the thread is helpful or useless doesn't help anyone at all anyways due to the fact the OP hasn't been updated in over a month HAHAHA

Caller ID shows Unknown with each caller unless they are in my contacts

I have looked around at a few other threads and checked Verizon's boards with no success. Their tech support agents want to swap out my phone but that option isn't feasible right now since I'm on call at work. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, what apps I need to look at, or if there is a menu that I can make changes in? I'm rooted and running the latest Sky Dragon rom and kernal. I don't know what other info would help. Thanks in advance!
*Update! I haven't been getting voicemail notification either. This is huge, I may lose my job. :/
