MOD EDIT: PLEASE POST ALL ISSUES RELATED TO ROOT IN THIS THREAD. DEVS PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS THREAD FOR ISSUES AND SUGGESTIONS.
I shall compile a list of problems (possible problems) that people may have when rooting or after root.
Problem: Removed stock apps, still listed in Settings > manage apps
Solution: Delete /data/system/packages.xml, reboot. The phone will repopulate and wala its gone.
Problem: No 3G
Solution: Go to Settings > Wireless controls > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. Press the left button on the X10 and click on New APN.
Problem: Phonebook doesn't work or F/Cs
Solution: Keep Timescape installed till we get custom roms. Phonebook is linked to Timescape.

Are people who are having issues restoring previous settings after rooting their phones?
This may cause random issues so its best not to restore previous settings, restoring contacts, call logs and sms are acceptable.
I would not suggest restoring old settings on a fresh root.

Problem: Headphones not working
Solution: For X10a users, don't use Step4 and 5 of rooting process
As biktor_gj mentioned:
P.S.: Mediascape is NOT required to correct audio routing between speaker & headphones. This problem was caused by differences on the kernel module that controls audio routing and the newer baseband. With last root version you shouldn't have any problems using Android's original Music app.

Step4 and 5 replaces the the baseband and the baseband for X10a is older than the rooted baseband. So for now just do Step1 - 3 until SE releases a new ROM for X10a
I shall add more later, but these I think are the problems that most people are having.
were all the drivers installed properly? check the device manager for any unknown devices after you plugged your X10. if you haven't installed seus please do so. also make sure you use the first usb you plugged the X10 in flash mode. otherwise search registry again for the DeviceID. if you plugged the X10 in flash mode to more than one usb ports, you may have more than one entries in the registry for the DeviceID
Not sure what I did but its working now.. on step 2 halfway done
Im having issues with step4.. it says no device found..
nvm.. got it working now

Internet (WiFi or 2G/3G) So slow it is painful yet Market runs fine.
SD/apps is empty(i would like Mediascape back)?
superuser.apk app just displays a black screen (is this right)
cant assign walpapers as Mediascape was used to assign them.
hey do you have to debrand first before you root and can someone post instructions to root Xperia X10a
Rogers Xperia X10-Stock
For me all apps are in "/sdcard/apps/" but I can't install "Mediascape" (Quadrapop installed/uninstalled successfully) via Astro (maybe it's normal) or by copying "mediascape.apk" and "mediascape.odex" files to "/system/app" (Astro/Better Terminal Emulator).
I haven't issues with Wifi.

1) my keyboard is gone.
I only have HTC IME Mod installed, and it's not working
2) I have a few old O2 shortcuts in the app list but they seem to have been removed and when I click on them it force closes.
Solved issue 1 by installing another keyboard (I chose slideIT)
my wifi isn't working at all idk what the problem is, but my 3g is working perfectly on my X10A
I'm using an X10a from Rogers and rooted using the first post method and third post's X10a files. My WiFi is working perfectly and so is everything else.
Okay guys, my keyboard was gone at first but I fixed that by reinstalling the keyboard. Now however, I can't change my caller id. I had it set to private before I rooted and now I can't set it back to my original caller id. The setting is missing for me. You know how you go to settings and then call settings, I don't have an option to show my caller id. The only thing there is "Network service setting" and "Network Operators" Is anyone else having the same problem as me too?
Root is done ..
Now my phone restarts each time I plug it into the USB!!
Seems that all the input methods are gone.
I had Swype installed, but it wasn't working, so I removed it thinking I could re-install it again. But when I removed to I discovered that there are no other input methods on phone anymore! Help please
reinstall another input method..
thats what I did.
The rooting process seems to have installed the htc keyboard. Go to locale and text in your settings and enable it.
I had to reinstall swype as well, but it's working great now.

Hi Guys,
I just installed the megadroid 1.4.1 ROM for my htc sensation and assuming following issues:
How to add ICS widgets? If i hold on screens I only get possibilites to change wallpaper, no widgets or anything else :/
2:
Rom did not download apps and data that was synced before with Google. Of course I checked after installing that the phone should sync with Google.
Further on if I browse on the android market on computer and send installation via browser with apps, nothing happens.
Something I broke up myself or general issue?
Cheers,
Stefan
Hi guys,
Basically I repaired my phone using PC Companion, and uodated it to .431 firmware. I then rooted it and then installed Xperia NXT Transformation Pack and installed all my apps and restored my data.
However now, i'm unable to access my flashlight. I cant use it. When I click on flashlight on the quick panel settings then SystemUI FCs. Also I went to the camera app and cant unable flash. I also downloaded flash light apps from the market and they all cant seem to access the flashlight, and instead use the screen light.
Someone plz help. Thanks.
EDIT: My Camera is also inverted
EDIT 2: OH this problem is caused by installing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746020, others in that thread have also had this issue.
Okay found the problem (see OP).
A few days ago I rooted my Xperia Neo V in order to solve some issues I had with ringtones. So, the only things I did after that were to copy some mp3 files from sd to system folder, use link2sd to remove Timescape widgets and freeze a few apps (not POBox). Everything was fine, but today I've just found out that I can't select Chinese and Japanese keyboards: the checkboxes are unselectable as in the picture. I unfreezed all apps but didn't solve the problem, and I really can't figure out what the issue could be (btw the POBox cache is empty, don't know if that's ok). Any suggestions?
I have 4.0.3 and 4.1.A.0.562 installed.
