If you flashed a one package firmware , the ext4 filesystem would not be supported , hence resulting it being unable to boot up + the leftovers in /data and /cache make it hard for Froyo

Hey!
Go HERE! You not need to unroot if you flash, if you want UNROOT after flashing, rooting, then UNROOT is there too. Just read the tread!

does it mean wipe data and wipe dalvik cache
and format system??
I believe wiping data & cache should be enough.
I flashed back to official ROM from unofficial CM7 using odin.
filesystem has no effect AFAIK for this.
Bayint Naung filesystem had an effect on this. If you flash stock firmware as onepackage you will get a bootloop, because onepackage doesn't format partitions back to rfs. But if you flash a mulitpackage firmware everything will by fine , it formats partitions back to rfs.

Multipackage is the one in sammobile
That Contrains 4 files?
Yes, if firmware have 4 files (PDA, CSD and other, I don't remember all) it is a multipackage.
Just download the stock rom. And flash it with odin.

Not just any stock rom dude. There r 2 types of stock roms. One package & multi(full) package. Multi package is the one that converts ur system from ext to rfs. If u flash one package on ext, ur fone wil go in bootloops.

But there is a file .tar as the i5500-downgrade.tar to return the data to the file system of Samsung? Or do not know if it works the same for our s5830? I would greatly appreciate your response. Thanks

Downloaded a firmware from sammobiles and extracted it.
As other person said 'if firmware have 4 files (PDA, CSD and other) it is a multipackage' . But I don't see anything like that in this extract.
Help me to get the multipackage please. Also there is a file .tar as the i5500-downgrade.tar. Is there anything similar for our ace. If so please provide the link.
Thanks in advance.

In my country (Italy) samsung has released an update (12,85 Mb) from G70XXKPF to G70XXKPH
New version: 2.3.6 GINGERBREAD.XXKPH
samsung claims to have solved wifi issues
EDIT: it seems zergrush doesn't work (tested with doomlord's tool and superoneclick 2.3.3) so if you need root stay away from this update!
EDIT 1: if you want root simply install rumirand's kernel. Use superoneclick 2.3.3 on rj's kernel to root
FIST IMPRESSIONS: Wifi seems stable, added new lockscreen and new slide to unlock style, haptic feedback now is working!
BUG: can't change wallpaper on lockscreen
Here's the ROM (186,75 Mb) http://www.mediafire.com/?wkhk5p30km49sbm

I'm pretty sure that kies won't let you update if you're using a custom rom. That's why I wont update when it hits the states.
Just wondering if anyone can perform a dump of this new EU rom? It can be a good base for custom rom.
New Firmware
In Norway this firmware is not available. Is it possible to download this firmware and install it via cwm ?
I'm just care about the issue of wifi.
Is there anything about 4.0?

i flashed the stock rom (2.3.5) but i still get that line... any ideas?
This stock rom uses .ext4 format. Ghetto lag fix already.
Use superoneclick 2.3.3 on rj's kernel to root 2.3.6
Cant flash this ROM successfully with ODIN and getting boot loops following the directions.
Reflashed but with no hope. Is this ROM only for EU INTL builds, as I have an INTL YP G70 but not EU version.

Long time ago, i rooted my SGS2 with Sensation Rom 1.8 GB by Crysis21.
Now i do a Full Wipe Flash with the new 3.2Version with ICS 4.0.3 XLPS.
So Rom working fine and having no Problems, but have no root access any more.
Try to Flash CF-ROOT 5.4 XLPS with odin and CWM.

Apps say: Phone is NOT rooted.

Hello,
Find your JB firmware from sammobile.com and flash it via Odin.
But don't forget to make a full wipe, before flashing anything.
