Ok, this is my first all-in-one thread. Please bare with me on this one. I'll try keep it updated often to keep the info fresh.
I know everyone is getting a mixed bag of results with the stock battery performance. In time with enough information gathered, I'll compile the average results into this thread to make it easy for everyone. So instead of looking through 100's of posts, people can read about it here.
Also, anyone who are willing to participate and contribute to this, that would be appreciated.
For best results, complete recharge and discharge cycles are needed to be done for accurate results on your end, along with wiped battery stats.
I'll post my results first.

I've been reading about the Anker 1900mah batteries. Majority of people here recommend those as a current solution. I'm planning on getting a pair of those soon.
Reserved, just in case...
This thread might suite my observations…
Many users were complaining about the quick battery drainage. So last night I decided to monitor the applications activities during the phone idle status. I launched a dozen commonly used apps and left the smartphone to overnight having all them in background.
During seven hours of idle time - 50% of battery charge disappeared. BUT I caught the guilty one. It turned out to be the Google Translate. Whilst left running in background, it’s loading CPU for about 60% and draining the charge. Thereby it may be used but MUST be killed when no needed anymore.
Apart of that I may add that I am very pleased with my battery life for the past three days - after I flashed the fabulous leak, and then uninstalled near 50 apk’s of the thoroughfine crap, and cleared the dalvik-cash. I deem it simply doubled from the time of GB period of life.
HELP Poor Battery Life on Android Revolution 2.2.1
Okay, here's what I've done to the phone since stock:
Root
S-Off using wire trick
Super CID
Flashed 4 EXT Touch Recovery
Ran SuperWipe script provided by Mike1986 for Android Revolution 2.2.1
Updated firmware package provided by Mike1986 for Android Revolution 2.2.1
Flashed Android Revolution 2.2.1
Flashed radio recommended by Mike1986
Wiped battery stats and cycled through two times
Still poor battery life
Checked radio md5 Sum and tried to reflash (got "remote not allowed error in fastboot)
Reflashed ROM
Still can't flash in fastboot, still apalling battery life
It LOOKS like the culprit is my mobile network signal, which is one big yellow line, as if I'm on a 24/7 phone call. Can't find any answers on the ARHD thread, and Google has failed me. ANYBODY?! I LOVE Mike1986's ROMs, but the battery life on this one is killing me.

Just out of curiosity, wasn't it already proven that wiping battery stats does nothing? Just saying, I think a google engineer on xda confirmed this.

I used to switch mine to GSM mode only to save battery, and then switch back to 4g when I was in good coverage or needed high speed Internet. I found that increased my battery life (I theorize because the device is not "hunting" between 3 and 2 G). There are apps that will take you to the exact setting to change it. Just a thought.
Here is what mine looks like right now. @ 81%. Few phone calls less than 10 min total, about 50 text messages, and about 5 min of web browsing. The rest of the time the phone was not being used. This is with JD disabled.

Thanks for the suggestions. I gave it a try, but I'm just on the first cycle through the battery so we'll see. BUT (and I'll attach a pic) my mobile network signal bar in the battery usage is still a constant yellow. I've never seen this before.
Also, I still don't have the ability to flash a .img in fastboot, although I've definitely done it before, on this particular ROM even. I try to reflash the radio and get this:
sending 'radio' (21997 KB)... OKAY
writing 'radio'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)
This probably belongs in the Dev section, but I'm not privileged enough to post there yet
Hmm, seems like the battery issue might be connected to the mobile signal being up all the time. I too have never seen that before.

Hello been having some annoying problems with the phone since i rooted it a while back. I used HTC unlock method and followed the tutorial for hboot 1.5 immediately I got horrible battery life. I had twrp if that matters, aside from the horrible battery life. I'd get a lot of random reboots. I replaced battery battery still sucked. I did the hboot downgrade battery still sucks now, and random reboots started bad now. I've used miui rom a couple of senses ice cream they all ear my battery I'm full charge at 630am and by ten I'm getting the low battery notification, I have tried almost every from and non have worked. Is it time to bash this phone against a wall? Its the only android phone I've had that has done this. I'm a Android user since the g1 btw. Which had horrible battery life but in comparison it beats this phone. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

are you still using twrp and also will need some more details like are you running a custom rom and kernal and what rom and kernal are you using this info needed
I'm on clockwork now. I've never flashed a kernel so I pretty much use the kernel the rom comes with. I'm currently using digitalhigh's miui build and never flashed a kernel have never flashed one might this be the problem? If so where do I search?

Do you know what clock speed you are running at?
This may seem like a silly question but what kind of case is your phone in, have you left your phone in a location that may have heat damaged your battery. Have you tried another battery and experienced the same rapid discharge?
Its a freaking meeting of the half minds in here OP excluded! Recovery is not the Culprit of the battery drain!
The culprit of the battery drain has to do with the Kernel for instance Anthrax Kernel is awesome but will drain your battery quicker then ****!
@OP I suggest you try meanrom it has a very good battery life and Mikeyxda is constantly trying to make it better and you have your choice between four different Kernels to choose from You have the new one (I dont remember the name) Ziggy's, Anthrax's and stock. I prefer Ziggy's and I get good battery life with it.
From what I have seen most if not all ICS roms are using Anthrax! As I stated before Anthrax Kernel in sleep mode drains your battery at 2% an hour so you can imagine how much it uses when its awake.
Dont get me wrong anthrax is blazing fast!
I assumed recovery had nothing to do it. Will try meanrom and report back.

How much screen on time? Do you have good signal? Are you leaving 4g on all the time? With constant use, it is normal to only get a few hours, especially with low signal or 4g.
Could be a rogue app. I like better battery monitor (available on xda) and bad ass battery monitor (in market) to see what is draining my battery.

I'm running MeanRom w/ dodava and it is BY FAR the best batt life i've had on this phone to date. On light usage days I can go all day (12+ hours) and still have >75% left. I also use Juice Defender Ultimate to auto-disable data/gps/etc on screen-off but from what you're saying it sounds like your batt life is freakishly bad. I don't think it's even a wakelock issue, you must have a runaway application eating 100% cpu all the time or something severely broken in your OS.
I'm guessing you didn't do a full wipe of the phone before flashing MeanRom?
Also, after flashing a new kernel/rom your battery stats may be messed up and you may need to recalibrate before it's accurate again:
I use the app "BatteryCalibration" by NeMa (free in Market).
Just follow the instructions in the app.
So... You need to flash it again but this time:
1.) Do a full wipe by flashing one of those Wipe utils first. There's a link to one on the MeanRom page as MikeyXDA mentions it. DO NOT Reboot after doing the wipe but proceed immediately to install the MeanROM zip. This will wipe out any data that doesn't sync to google. Your SD card will not be erased but everythign else will.
2.) Do be extremely selective about re-installing your applications. The Android system may have gotten FUBAR'd from flashing of different ROMs on top of each other and that may be the cause and would be fixed by #1 above but it's just as likely you've installed some very bad application(s). When you open Google Market for the first time after a clean wipe and flash it will start re-downloading everything you had installed before. STOP it from doing that. Even if you have to pull the batt out or whatever. Next time you open it, it won't automatically start installing everything but will let you choose them one at a time. Install only the bare minimum apps at first and check an App Killer and CPU monitor like SystemPanel Lite to look for high CPU usage and kill any stuck apps. Each day maybe you can add a few more apps and this way you'll know when your batt life goes to hell again which app it was that sent it there.
Anytime you switch from one ROM to another you should do a full wipe. The only exception is when maybe flashing a newer version of the same ROM on top of an older one. (i.e. Flashing MeanRom 4.3 on top of 4.1 or something.) I've noticed that after kernel upgrades even though my battery often needs to be recalibrated.
I unplugged my phone 3+ hrs ago, lightly checked it a couple of times this morning and glanced at it a few times while writing this and I'm still at 96%. I'm running MeanRom 4.1 at the moment but will upgrade to 4.3 tonight maybe.
hello friend
i have evo 3d with stock 4.0.3... my mobile wifi and data always enable... that my my battery work just for 4 hours or maimun 5 hours i always need to put my mobile on charging...
is there any kernel .... that have less battery drain....
if u gays know please paste the link
thanks in advance...
gays?
Maybe a bad flash, or you have to let the rom settle.
Can you tell me what exactly is draining your battery? (settings > battery)
There is some forbidden kernel somewhere which may do some good. But i advice you to flash another rom, stock rom sucks.
Are you in a low signal area? My battery life is horrendous when I am. Also what is your screen on time? Four to five hours of screen on time would be excellent.
I am using the same stock rom,but I always keep the wifi and mobile network off. I usually turn them on when I really need them. I DON'T think rom change could solve your problem if you always keep wifi on. My advice, you might try it.

you supposed to say guys right? haha ,i use miui always lasts 48 hours on newest official version
kernel makes all the difference on battery drain, i would suggest you try a completely stock rom and judge the drain over a couple of days
Battery drain is always going to vary from rom to rom and user, everyone uses different apps, sync times etc, so saying that your best bet is to flash different roms with different kernels and test which combination works for you
( Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
i need something as well. i get about 8 hrs during normal use and minimal 3g usage.
yeah are you roaming alot? how old is your battery? how much are you actually using it? i could see if your on it the whole 4hrs then it would die. if your gonna root ive had incredible battery life with the meanROM v45.

so, i guess my point is: what was the last thing you remember installing since you noticed battery drain.
i know, i know...you hear this all over xda.
but, it's for a reason.

my battery life is pretty good . i do alot of data streaming w subsonic and pandora ect too.

My phone needs everey ~8 hours a charge but mobile data and 3G is always on (Custom Firmware).
Think about a battery replacement.
Have you thought about using software in addition? I've had good luck using Juice Defender on my 3D
WTH?!I am using speed rom 8, stock kernel, and my battery jumps around like crazy, has anyone else had had his issue? I think its probably a bad battery. Sometime it falls off insanely quick and at the low end it just dies around 20% or so then I reboot and it up around 30...any ideas?

This has happend to me even on stock. It's purely a battery issue, I went hiking and my phone got slightly moist, and the warranty sticker on the battery went red. See if you have one on your battery, I took mine to my carrier and told me its was covered under HTC's warranty.
This happened to me on stock but tmobile sent me a new phone for $5 and that resolved my issue.
When I was using speed ROM I noticed the same thing with my battery. I don't remember how it was with stock so I can't comment there.
But I have attached a picture of my ROM battery life now that I've switched to the fusion ROM and so far it seems better.
The only thing I can see from the graph you've posted is that your screen was on slightly longer than mine, but that's no reason for such terrible battery.
Might be the ROM and I hate to suggest it, but you might be better of if you try another ROM.

That's what was happening to me + random reboots the first time I flashed speed rom 8. Thought it was the rom so I switched to Infusion, but was getting the same thing and data stopped working.
Here what I did which seems to have resolved the issue for me:
1) Wiped cache, davik, & data wipe
2) Flashed the stock ICS RUU (I used the R2 variant)
3) Wiped cache, davik, & data wipe again
4) Flashed SpeedRom 8
5) Did NOT turn on Google Now - It's a battery hog but was not related to the stability issues.
Now i'm running SpeedRom 8 and it's perfectly stable with great battey life. Only thing I've noticed is I seem to not be able to run Wi-Fi and Blutooth at the same time. Wi-Fi will drop out within 10 - 20 minutes if I do. Can't get it back unless I turn of BT and turn off Wi-FI and turn it back on. Weird but livable.
I need some help. I want to make all of the pain go away and send this POS out the window of my vehicle. It has been a cause of so much frustration over the last year.
Most recently, I installed Santods excellent official ICS deodexed debloated ROM. I didn't notice the issue I'm having now before I installed that ROM, but I have since installed another ROM (Jellyblur) and my issue has not disappeared. It started when I was using my camera... i noticed a long delay after I impatiently hit a button while it was thinking. it shutdown. upon restarting, battery went from fully charged to maybe 20%. A couple pictures later and it shutdown again and upon restarting showed maybe 3%. It's not just the camera that causes it... GPS, browsing, calls etc. can all trigger this behavior. After showing a battery level of 3%, I plug it in and it is instantaneously at 65% or 72% etc., but never showing that its in need of a full recharge.
Is there a chance I screwed up something that "tells" the battery it's time to shutdown? Here are some logs from the most recent episode.

Here's why I am still reluctant to believe it's the battery.
1. I was getting a full day of normal use out of it the day before I installed the new ROM.
2. After achieving a total drain of the battery, upon plugging back in , it shows the charge is already at + 50%.
disclaimer: I have no prior experience with owning a smart phone and dealing with batteries, so I have no idea how they are supposed to act. Limited experience flashing ROMS and no real knowledge of common problems that can occur when flashing etc. etc.

2 Things to consider. The rezound battery is all that is available atm and it is rated at 1640mah vs our 1400 mah.
A new battery is usually not more than 20 dollars
If you are having these problems ensure you are following the suggested directions.
Install ICS Radios
4ext Recovery
Wipe all except sd card
install rom
I have returned to GB rom and i stay on the ICS Radios with 0 problems. So no matter what rom you install i would suggest the new ICS radios. I have installed the new radios in 3 other phones besides my own with 0 problems crossing ICS radio with GB ROM.

My phone's battery is draining drastically. Immediately i start doing something with the phone, the battery starts draining heavily. The highest i can get is about 4 hours of use. I've considered buying the Mugen Power 1950mAh Extended
Battery for the Amaze 4G but i want to know if anyone can testify that the battery actually does what they promised. The phone is gradually driving me crazy. I've even tried different roms, no of them stopped the battery drain. I just need testimonies on this battery or any other 100% sure method that can work.. thanks!

From their website, but i need confirmation from people who have used it. I wonder what is really causing this battery drain. Is it the screen or what? I've even lowered my screen brightness. The phone uses same battery with the sensation but the sensation lasts much longer. I really need help! Something that works!

Even though the sensation battery does work on the amaze, it is smaller than stock amaze battery. Secondly, are you on the latest updated radio and base build? What ROM are you running? If you want decent battery life then try speedrom, miui (older version haven't tried the new one), sense 4 ROM and cm10 has decent battery life as well given you have the right settings enabled. If you keep your 4g data connection on all the time then you will end up with horrendous battery life on any ROM; good luck
Don't get mugen, go to eBay and get EC battery (1900mA). I got a package that included 2 EC branded batteries and a separate dock charger (basically you can charge one battery while using the other in phone) for only 16 bucks and battery life is way better than the stock on these cheap Chinese batteries (I get anywhere between 3 to 3 1/2 hours of screen on time on average and a total time of around 16-17 hours with that kind of usage which is amazing and I have been using these batteries for about 6 months)

thanks for your help.. before i proceed, let me explain exactly how the battery drain happens....
when i charge it up to 100%, immediately i unplug it and leave it for 5 minutes without use, it goes down to 96%, and soon goes down to 89% within another few minutes and continues that way.. when am using the phone, the battery drain is even worse. what do you think? should i still proceed with your method?

The latest OTA update from tmobile did a lot of optimization for our Rom. Battery sees an improvement. Follow my guide and report back. ARHD 4.0 is based off of the latest OTA and I can't complain.
