The problem I'm having is that while charging the phone and using it, the phone gets really hot. My battery temps are 107.6*F I'm assuming this will damage my battery pretty soon. How can I prevent this? Should I just not use the phone while on the charger??

Buddy this is normal.don't worry.my country weather is really hot.even on normal use i.e., at the time when it is not charging, my phone really gets hot. But i am using it for over a year with no damage yet.battery doesn't get too much hot but actually cpu does. Chill and use your phone add you like. It is made this way.

120.2°F hot for a charging phone?? Its burnns.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
120°F degrees is unusually hot. I get up to 105°F while charging and that's on a hot ~95°F day.
Check your task manager to see if there's anything using CPU. That kind of heat can also be caused if you're using data to download stuff while charging.

r u over clocking?
thats probably why, but 120? should never reach THAT high.
Mine reached 140 once... it felt so hot!

Never overclock befor.. idk..bit cooled down to 71°F now..

Mine gets very hot, I've seen 120°F and higher, when using it while charging. If left alone, it does not heat up.
Hey guys just did the ota update. Now on trip in car and when plugging into car charger, the battery does not show as charging (lightning bolt through battery symbol), but the% in my battery app is going up,.so it is charging.
Anyone else seeing this issue also?

Actually the battery is not even charging. it is not the charger either, as the other two androidphones are charging. Only the atrix doesn't charge. Any ideas anyone?

Offtopic but can you comment if you have battery jumping issues with OTA. And also if you have high "phone idle" usage issue in battery like the rest of us in leaked version?
When I restart phone it goes up 10%..

Let me get that straight? You installed offical OTA update from Motorolla and you have battery jumping issue, right? How on earth they do not know about this bug?

LOL.....they know, they just don't care enough. Besides, who ever restarts their phones on a regular basis? (besides us)
there is no difference between the leaked OTA and the Offical OTA, so yes there is a chacne the battery issue is still there. dont let your phone die complete has you may not be able to flash a different sbf. AND WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT FLASH ANY OFFICAL 1.83 OR YOU WILL HARDBRICK
Does anyone have a "fix" or idea why car charger won't charge atrix, but will charge an sgs2 and arc?
Also the battery is discharging at an alarming rate. Is there a method to fixing it or am I at the mercy of the customer friendly and over productive people at Moto (sarcasm)...

I'm using a charger from my HTC phone and the note is getting hot....is it the charger or the fact I'm using it while being charged.

+1
I believe my skyrocket and ogs2 did also.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
You are creating heat by using the battery as well as more heat by the cpu working. Pushing power into the phone just makes it hotter

Had that happen, I suggest either use the phone while off the charger or leave it on the charger with minimal use until fully charged.

Not something to worry about I use mine on the charger as well and it heats up over 100 degrees which the phone should be about 80 to 85 standard use. So if in car put it over the conditioning cold air when using which In my case cools the phone very well. If no cold air then I would limit use until charged.

how fast?
tried charging it via usb port on a PC/Laptop?
I get 80% in like ~2h. I once activatet the fast charge script.but After i recognized the problem i wiped all and flashed other roms. Might be an Hardware Problem? Everything is working but drains too fast

I don't know autralian voltage, but 2 hs sound about right to me.
Try to find out what is that is draining your battery, what are you doing diffrently since you got there.
Try pluggin it to the pc/laptop, let it juice up and then see if it drops like when charged via AC.
I didnt change anything. Is it possible hat somethings wrong with the Hardware? I got 50 % usage by the display. But i set it to very dark. I dont understand it: (

I am using an AC switch that generates 230 Volts out of the 12 Volts cigarette thing from our car. Might it be that this is not working fine with my device?

As in, it gets to a certain percentage level and then plateaus? Or does it simply not charge up at all?
It only discharges when am using it while charging it but when am I leave it to charge on its own without using it, it charges very well. Any idea?

Seems to me like whatever you're using or running while it's charging might be negating the charging taking place, due to the amount of battery it's taking to run it.
If you're on WiFi or something while it's charging, I could potentially see how the output/input in terms of voltage could become stagnant or even decrease. Obviously just a theory, but I would say the energy your phone is using to run the task (ex: WiFi) is the same or even less than what it's drawing for energy to charge.. depending on what you're running, of course. Therefore, if you aren't using the phone (thus you're not "pulling" energy), it charges fine.
I don't think anything strange is going on here, but I could certainly be totally wrong - who knows.
I use internet while charging but anyways thanks for that.
