Official specs (save for the processor): http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/3/2996619/samsung-galaxy-s-iii
4.8 Inch HD Super Amoled
1.4 quad core xynos
2100 mah REMOVABLE Battery
16,32 and 64 gig on board PLUS Micro SD
Quote from Engadget
The Galaxy S III's beating heart is Samsung's new 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, aided by a fresh GPU that is supposedly 65 percent faster than the companion Mali 400 graphics chip on the Galaxy S II. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to give GTA III a blast, nor run our typical benchmark apps, but in any case the model we played with was not final hardware. That said, we were able to grab a quick SunSpider browser performance score of just under 1,500ms, putting the phone below HTC's polycarb-clad wonder -- but lower is better, by the way.

I would agree for the most part however no removable battery and no micro sd expansion slot are kind deal breakers for me. Probably stick with the EVO 3D for sometime and hope ICS update evtually comes and hopefully brings some enhancements other than just ICS.

The One X camera didnt even beat the GS2 or the 4S in reviews lol. Of course none of the HTC die hards will admit anything other than an HTC phone being better anyways. And yea id rather wait to have the better phone, I made the mistake of not doing so with the 3D last year.. not this year. More memory, better processor, bigger screen, thinner, removable battery...yea works for me. Being able to take 90 pics in a minute doesnt matter to me when the optics still suck. Comparison below pretty much shuts that down.

Bring on the release date!
Its official, the Samsung GSIII has a REMOVABLE battery. This is the ONE thing I with the EVO 4G LTE (One X) was going to have. This could tip the scales for me. Sprint beefed the battery in the U.S. EVO 4G LTE over the One X specs. This chart has the One X. Still, removable is good. I dont know what I'll do now. I prefer sense over TouchWiz crap too.

Same here, but I'm afraid what sells is sequel's like Transformers the movie or the Twilight saga (IMO both suck).
Footnote I'm surprised the hasn't been mobile development on virtual core technology.
Check out the asus transformer prime, the first quad I've seen so for. Come with keyboard docking station the turns it into a laptop. I like it when I got my hands on it at bestbuy. Haven't seen it attached to any data networks tho.

Software development always lag 8 - 12 months behind hardware. If you keep buying the next big thing, you never get to actually use its hardware because there is no matching software.

I've been COMPLETELY sold on the Sprint GN, but I have a June 1st upgrade, and if this release date is concrete for the One X/Jet/EVO LTE, I might have a decision on my hands
So if the cpu chip isnt compatible with LTE here and thats why Europe is getting I wonder if it will be compatible next year? Hhmmm....either way I'm excited about the display!
Really? A Dual core?
And no, It's not about benchmark swag. Its about it actually being a worthy upgrade. Why am I going to buy a phone thats barely an upgrade? A slightly faster cpu, a slightly faster gpu, and the same amount of RAM? No thanks.
My next phone will have a 1.5ghz quad core, a way faster gpu, and 2gb of ram or its not worth dropping a dime on to me.

And the second someone actually shows me what you can do with a quad core phone that you cant do with a dual core phone then ill be inclined to share your thoughts on quad core..What are the real life comparisons? What is the benefit other than saying "I have a quad core phone"
Its just a phone for god sakes,i just dont understand the fascination with going crazy over quad core in a phone.
Right now i have a gs2. I dont see me giving up this phone anytime soon. I have 2 eligible upgrades ive been savin. But normally if you sell your phone on craigslist then buy another on craigs list you pay less then what the upgrade would cost a new customer. Sold evo for 220...paid 350 for brand new white gs2. Im hopin sprint gets an updated galaxy note

still no removable battery or storage so I'll probably still pass.
Paid retail on the EVO 3D to hold me for another year on my contract so won't be buying a new phone till next year with my upgrade and by then there will be something better. But seems like a worthy upgrade.

While there is no mention of storage or battery the article states LTE as being the only difference. Had battery and/or storage been changed it would be a pretty big deal and mentioned. I hope I'm wrong but don't hold your breath that HTC decided to make those changes only for Sprint when LTE is the single necessary alteration for the CDMA LTE roll out.

You guys need to take some time and do some research on what your talking about...
neither of you mentioned the fact that the screen is HUGELY improved, dedicated ImageChip, and besides the whole point both of you are not grasping the fact of how much better the S4 chip's are than the S3's...If this doesn't satisfy an upgrade b/c of the SoC then you'll be left waiting till '13 when Qualcomm pushes their 28nm quads...
fact is the SoC mentioned in this device is a huge upgrade to the current one in the EVO3D...
If this was a Tegra3 would you consider it an upgrade??? If you say yes then you are greatly miss-leaded by the facts of the SoC's themselves b/c there is sooo much more than just the # of cores...28nm vs 40nm, integrated modems vs not, and a bunch more...

I guess it's 20MBit/s which would be 2.5MByte/s, so an SD card should be able to handle that.
Would be nice to see on our evo 3d's
The Sensation get's so much love.
I am by no means a developer, so I don't even know if this the right way to achieve similar results, but I pulled the media_profile XML files from the flashable zip and my copy of MeanROM and started comparing them to see if I could make any sense out of it. I would assume that sideloading the APK from the zip would bork because of the framework change between Sense 3.6 and 3.0... Any ideas?

Ive debated about the SGS3. It will have more raw power for sure but the developer support for whatever the Sprint version will be probably won't be as good. I absolutely love what S4 krait is supposed to be. Android skins don't really bother me as much anymore because everything is ICS now so I can get just put trebuchet on it and be ok. Although doubtful, if the SGS3 comes with a dual core A15 soc then I will have no choice all A15 soc will kick ass haha. As of now, the One X with is beastly camera and krait on board will be my next phone. I'm sure the quad core A9 exynos will be sweet like they always are but the power effeciancy of 28nm as well as LTE built into the die (assuming it supports 2.5Ghz) will be sweet.

this is a common misconception. i will explain;
a class 10 SD card, has a MINIMUM write speed of 10 megabytes per second. this is to say, the lowest sustained write/read/execute speed is 10MB/s. The same goes for class 4 etc, c4 = 4MB/s min.
as for max, my class 10 card writes at ~15.6 MB/s consistent, and read at ~25.

My honest opinion we should all just wait for the gs3.
It'll probably be the CDMA variant of the One X with the S4 processor, and one of the first LTE phones. Might even be a "World Phone." You won't have to worry about it being out of date by any other HTC phones since HTC is putting their eggs in the Quality, not Quantity basket. I'd be happy to see another 3D phone, but I'll live with the next phone in line. I don't hardly use the 3D anymore, but every now and again, it's nice to have.

My honest opinion we should all just wait for the gs3.

I wouldn't really speak for everyone else in your opinion. Sure, they might have different specs that may or may not be better than the next EVO, but there are still some people out there VERY loyal to HTC, myself included.
So, apparently the One X absolutely destroys the Nexus AND the Transformer Prime. Now THAT'S impressive. Looks like the Snapdragon S4 is promising.

Why--oh why does it NOT have expandable memory? :'(
What, 32GB ain't enough for ya?
If it comes to sprint I'm definitely getting it. Crushed the asus transformer woe that's one mighty fine dual core

as the product focus mostly on that oversized camera, not having the ability to hot swap memory cards for what you are filming is just fsking stupid...

looks like that the biggest increases comes from switching between a 266mhz single channel memory interface (s3) to the new 500mhz dual channel one more than from core optimization (which should be still pretty nice as it is cortex-a15-like)

That irks the hell out of me, especially when SDXC cards are going to be cropping up more commonly.
Still going to buy it though.

Yes, my sentiments exactly, but the number one reason that I refuse to buy the x one is the lack of removable battery..... hell no to that.
Thank god for this phone. I love the non removable battery, I hate seeing phones that look like they have car batteries attached to them, no wonder why iPhone users think android people are retarded

It says that it scored a 4900 on quadrant, but yet blows away the Transformer Prime. I've tested mine and scored an 5088 with Quadrant. Here is my proof. I am not dissing the One X by any means, I am just stating my Prime can pull the same #'s on tests. To me its how well the OS is built for the phone and what kind of developers we have to make what HTC gives us and transform it into a beast.

For me it's more about choice. You don't have to attach those large batteries but you can if you want to. And all my friends who have iPhones say after a year or so they can't hold a charge any longer. But you can't do anything about that on the iPhone. At least you can replace the standard battery on most Android phones.
But yeah two reasons I won't be getting the One is the lack of expandable storage and no removable battery. I have maps and media installed on my phone and that takes up a good portion of the memory. Also, I need to switch out batteries when I cover E3 or CES as that thing gets used a lot for SMS in communicating with the team (talking is horrible with all the noise at these things) and reading emails and appointments.
The performance does look great and I do like the car dock mode for the One. Honestly, if the Sprint variant had LTE, removable battery, and SD Card slot, I'd swap out my EVO 3D for it
I think the phone looks nice but it's not for me. I have the galaxy note which has expandable memory and battery. That's really important for me. Batteries get worn down or are defective. I had an iPhone 4 which came with a defective battery and all I could do is send it back. If it were any other phone I'd just buy a new one and ask to have it reimbursed. Who knows how the battery life will be on a device with that many cores. Hmmm... I'm still not tempted.

Your not comparing apples to apples there...you OC'd nodded the Prime. I'm sure they were comparing it to bone stock on both devices.
The Prime should win out GPU wise from what I've read but rest is at the very least a toss up if not S4 in favor...

I just enabled the 1.6 that Asus put in there after they gave us ICS. Before ICS, the 1.6 config was not in there, but afterwards it was. So we, Prime owners, just enabled it. I have rooted my Prime, but have not unlocked it or flashed a custom ROM/Kernel yet.
Are there screws somewhere on the phone (like the iPhone) that could be taken off to have access to removing the battery?

I would assume there has to be, because there has to be a way for them to replace a faulty battery in case it ever happens.
I to am hating the no memory card and no removable battery.
I'm not bothered by the battery at all. If it ends up being faulty, get a new one. I can see why the people who travel a lot might miss an extended battery, but there are car chargers and a lot of other accessories that can make that more bearable.

What about if your phone bootloops and you need to pull battery?

There will most likely be a three finger reboot method

What part of "non user-replaceable battery" didn't you understand .
