Not sure for certain, I am currently bricked
I assume they may have patched it as they did that with R6a and R6b for Xperia.
Also why would they release R5a for US when they had recently release R5!
condi is working on a method to replace the recovery with the old one (before flashing new recovery) which also uses hie pre-root method
If you are on R1a DO NOT update.... yet!
Yes , I r1a ver. , but not sure up to R5A still with root , so I haven't update form ota...too poor

R5 changes recovery so ADB in recovery is blocked so the root exploit cannot do anything.

Maybe, waiting the JB is a good choice.
There is still another not so good way! You can contact the custom service, asking them back to original system(3.2.1 or other).

But when Im trying to reboot the tablet, the Sony screens show correct, but the next screen i see it's the next one.
ADB no reponse, and only boot in recovery mode. Root it's a second problem to me now!
Can any one help me??
Thanks!

I think you are meant to go from ICS to R5a, even though there is no warning??? about going from GB.
Try to manually flash a Spain tablet P firmware. See my signature for FAQ (how to manual update) and Update links for the files.
Try this file info.update.sony.net/ST003/nbx02_005/contents/0006/signed-nbx02_005-ota-120612003.zip R2a it is still rootable through AiO tool then you can use Flasher to update to R5a.
Stifilz
you hadn't flashed hidden.img which is required when flashing 3.2.1 <> 4.0.3.
ICS can not work with honeycombs kernel.
just flash last rootable 4.0.3 fw and then reapply r5a via flasher - just like stifilz said

Thanks to everyone. I put the original 4.0.3 in my tablet and now can boot in a original system. Later i use the guide to flash the R5A with S.ony tablet.s tool and put the last root version.
Now, all it's working perfect. One more question, whats it´s the better "region" for my tablet P to get a lot apps and a the most important, games.

Unfortunately there is no 3.2.1 for tablet P US region nor is there any ICS for Tablet P US. The file you need is signed-nbx02_001-ota-0042.001.zip (I recall that is the file name) someone out there should have it but I have asked several members of XDA on multiple threads and I can not find it. If you find it can you please share a link so I can also upload it. Thanks

[XP][Locked BL] *Working* Root for JB?

HI!!
Anybody can confirm any ROOT package reliably working on JellyBean?
I am to try Bin4Ry's Root with Restore BUT this never did work reliably even on ICS. I always had to rollback kernel to old version before applying, and since JB has not yet flashable ftf file I think this won't work.
Use the search button next time.

you obviosuly looking in the wrog thread my friend.
Look for it under development.

[Q] Sony Go - JB 4.1.2 Rooting Help

Dear Android JB community,
I have Sony Xperia Go with JB update (4.1.2) BN - 6.2.A.0.400. I have been looking for an easy method to root my phone post update.
Method 1:
Came across one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
But it proved to be not working for go in particular: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460&page=277
Method 2: http://exzacklyright.blogspot.ch/2012/07/nexus-7-guide-for-adbunlocking-rooting.html
Will this also work for Sony phones?
Would great if any one could help me with any updates to the above method or any other simple methods for a successful root...
Thanks a lot in advance
With kind regards,
INO

I am interested too.
Waiting for updates.
If u bootloader is unlocked
U can easily root
Bt I guess there are no rooting methods available for locked bootloader
There is no "easy" method but locked xgo can be rooted. This has been discussed in other posts. I'd get you a link but I'm on mobile right now.
Stock and locked xGO beans.

I was implying you'd check the rest of this area for the steps.
Easy but needs bootloader unlocked, can oc, have cwm, haven't tried it personally:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250695
Longer method but can keep locked bootloader, no oc, no cwm. I answered someone else before:

A little help with my Xperia Sola...

I've decided to root my phone... as far as I know I won't lose my warranty If I'll be rooted right?
So All I want is just root permissions... NO custom ROMS or Kernels.
I am using GB stock 6.0.B.3.184 firmware android 2.3.7
So Do I need to unlock my bootloader to root? Or I can proceed without doing that?
And could someone provide me with link how to root Xperia Sola with GB stock firmware?
Thank's
Please... I have looked everywhere.
Also found sources where people are searching for a way to root phone without upgrading to ICS with no luck.

You can root without unlocking your bootloader. Bootloader need to be unlocked only if you want to flash custom kernels or roms like cm9,cm10, miui etc.
You can try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Confirmed on the first post that works on sola also. Hope works with gb also

Hope this works. I don't use gb and can't tell you for sure which is the best choice, i am looking in various threads to find the best way.
You can also have GB with root permissions with a LOCKED BOOTLOADER

Thanks for your effort, I appreciate that
This one says It needs fastboot, so do I really need to unlock bootloader?
How hard is it..? To unlock bootloader, As far as I know it can be done at Sony homepage, Whats the advantage of unlocking it and do it has any cons... already know that it means lost wariaty, and that's a risk.
And finally can bootloader be locked again? To make everything as it used to be?
