how old is your battery? if it can't fully charge, it won't indicate a 100% charge; it will hang at a number in the high 90s, even when plugged in.
Yea it would just hang at 95%. But I think I got it,I reflashed the eclipse zip
And now it's fine, weird

i downloaded this app( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&feature=order_history )cause my battery wasn't reading right i purchased a motorola BH6X extended battery well this mourning i let it charge to 100% then i ran the app i took the phone off the charger and ran it all day and it finally died about a half hour ago but now when i put the battery in my phone it turns on doesn't read the battery or charge it or nothing it just shuts the phone off but when i put the stock battery in it boots up fine no problem at all. i don't know if theres any way to fix this if someone could help id appreciate it.
Sounds like a hardware battery issue. All that app does is wipe the a log file that tracks battery charge- discharge stats. That file gets recreated automatically.

thats dumb i just got it a week ago just wonderful
yeah. similar thing happened to a friend of mine. bought a stock BH5X that worked through one discharge and never held a charge again. =(
Maybe try a dock that charges batteries seperately

Did you leave your phone plugged in for at least five minutes before trying to turn it on?

I am planning to buy a new battery bcoz the one i got is not showing accurate charge and stays on 1% most of the time from the first day.If someone knows a website from where i can buy a battery that can show correct charge reading on the battery indicator plz do tell me.I would also like to know if there is a extended battery that shows the correct charge and can fit in stock battery cover.
Thanks
Have you tried fully draining that battery? I was having the same issues where my phone would hang at one percent. But after a full drain it can solve the issue. After draining try to charge it to one hundred.

I have tried that many times its not working for me and i don't think so it will work bcoz when i checked the total capacity of the battery in a root explorer charge-full-design is only showing 500 which should be 1880.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554966
Follow those instructions first then see how it acts. sounds like you just need to recalibrate
I have followed this and almost all other battery calibration tutorial threads given here but nothing worked.
When its is fully charged or says it is what mv reading do u have?

The phone charges to 100 % before reaching the total mv but when i keep it on charge for more time it charges to 4200mv.Actually battery life is fine just like a normal battery the only problem is that the phone doesn't recognize it as 1880mah battery that's what i think bcoz charge-full-design is 500mah which should be 1880mah.
If you do end up buying a new battery, try and buy one from Motorola. There may be off-brand companies with low-priced one, but they most likely will not old a charge for as long as an OEM battery.
I'm not convinced the battery is at fault I think its a issue with ur current rom

I bought two Anker ones on Amazon and they came with a charger that charges them outside of the phone as well. Three batteries and an external charger and you're ready for anything. Haven't noticed that they last longer, but if you've got enough, it doesnt matter how long they last

Nope, hasn't happened to me. Maybe try some recalibrating or something or wipe your battery stats... Mine have been totally normal ever since I got them

If u have a rooted atrix can check how much value charge-full-design is showing with ur Anker battery.
/sys/class/power_supply/batter/charge_full_design.
I just got a Samsung Battery Charger/Stand with Battery & have just charged the new battery with it, swapped it for the old one that had just run out when I noticed something weird...
The new battery was showing up as 100% for about 15 minutes. During which time I had the screen on for 3 minutes at full brightness.
What does that mean??
I've never seen 100% for any more than a second after I've unplugged the phone.
I'm assuming there's some difference between the batteries and the stats that are in the phone for the battery. I've used the Battery Calibration app before, when changing roms on my old phone, and that would sort out little anomalies. Do I need to use battery calibration every time I switch batteries?
Will this work itself out?
Will this swapping negatively affect my phone in anyway?
I thank you in advance for your help/suggestions
The phone has logic to not let the battery charge to 100% for too long. The charger does not. Battery calibration apps do nothing.

So... the charger over charged the battery?
Will that damage it?

I posted the same thing in the morning on another thread. Great mind think alike! Haha
Well to me it doesn't mean anything wrong really. Just that the phone doesn't fully charge the battery for safety or maybe heat reasons. Who knows? If samsung desktop charger is approved by samsung its good enough to me.

Guess your right.
So yours was saying 100% for unusually long as well?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It did on my new one for about 5min. Only but I had wifi on and screen and doing some work. It Wasatch new battery and didn't think much of it. I would say that even that was way more than the immediate 99% once off the charger on the phone

Just read your earlier post. Seems strange that the external charger charges more than the phone. I guess I can't complain about a few extra minutes!

One of my usual days with the battery charged up in the morning on he desktop charger, and I'm now 8 almost and have 72% when previously I was getting about 60% around this time

Hello everyone. My samsung is a bit sick now (lol). Basiclly the problem is in the battery indicator . Using battery calibration app i figured out that it shows very wrong percentage. On full charge i have about 4200 mV. But then the % keeps going down very fast , and at 20% i still have 3500 mV left. So what can I do to fix this ? Btw Im guessing this was caused by me , cause i flash roms pretty much everyday lol

All is related by your use. If you are flashing a lot, I suppose that the screen is 99% ON and this drains a lot the battery.
The Li-Ion battery do their best when they are at about 75-80% of charge (they actually don't need to be charged at 100% @ 4200 mV every time); this is why you get fast discharge after pull off the charger and have little discharge after.
You should also know that these battery cannot be discharged under a threshold, otherwise you can damage permanently the battery, this is why at 3500 mV the system tells you to connect your charger before the device turn itself off to protect the battery.
for more information about battery you can visit: http://batteryuniversity.com/
I used an app called battery calibration. It basically resets the battery stats after you have flashed a new rom and it works great for me. Charge up the device. Run the app. Then let the batter discharge fully before charging again.

Go into your recovery (ClockWorkMod)
Go to advanced
Go to wipe Battery Stats
Go to Yes
Reboot
and everything should be fine lol.

Actualy when you have 3500 mv on most devices you would have 0% of battery..most devices opetates between 3700-4200 where 4200 is full battery and 3700 is empty.

Lol I think it should be more than that, because the 4.0 with screen on (all the time) gets 4 hours too.
Hey, i bought a new battery for my desire x, but it doesn't charg to 100%. Sometimes it charges to 72% sometimes to 92% but i never got more then 92%. I tried to fully discharge the battery and charge it turned off, but the same. After 10h charging it stucked on 92%. Has anyone an idea to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance!
It may be fully charged, but your system may see it only as partially charged... for these issue there are apps called battery calibrators. You can download them from store and calibrate battery and everything should run fine from then on
