Now that HBO GO is out for ICS, has anybody tried porting it yet to their tab?
Not home to test for myself.

Thank God.lol I bought a razr Maxx just so I could use hbo go,now back to my gnex.
Hbo go works great on ics.

If anything you can go to HBO go website. Just login as you would on a pc and watch through your web browser. Oh also I think you must have your browser set to desktop not android.
You can watch HBO Go in full screen too. Use dolphin browser and set it to desktop. Hide status bar and whoa la...Full screen. Bookmark HBO Go. It will then work just like app.

I have no clue why this thing wont let me surf in desktop mode. My home page is set to yahoo.com not m.yahoo.com and even then it pops up as mobile yahoo. Manyof the sites too that i open from desktop mode search open as mobile..... Its annoying. I have searched for a setting to default to desktop mode but cant find it. Any know if there is hope for me? How do i get around this?
In default browser, under advance settings. There is the select user agent
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
The user agent doesn't stick unless you're rooted, so I'm lead to believe. I'm using Dolphin which will let you select desktop from the settings.
Yeah, I use dolphin for pad and the settings stay in desktop. The stock launcher doesn't.

I have the stock on 10.1 so i guess thats an issue i just have to deal with. Im not about to root it or start modifying it, lol, i would do it wrong and for sure render it useless. Thanks.
Just install Dolphin browser from the market.

Anyone tried BBC iPlayer yet in HD?
You have to tell the browser to use the desktop site but the HD streaming is perfect!! I've seen laptops not manage it that smooth!
In love with my TFP!!
Where did you get the bbc iplayer from I go on the market and its not there
How do you do it, I can't find the instruction?
Something I am finding are many Android apps are not optimised for Tabs only showing in portrait mode when keyboard is attached.
Regarding the BBC iPlayer app I'm in the UK and its not showing in the market. Did you install the .apk rather than from the market? It's not showing in the market for me.

hes not saying the app
. He's talking about the website, and he's right, it works great now. Just request the desktop version of the website and then choose HD channel... works amazingly, and it was crap on honeycomb, so thanks I cs!

He's talking about watching the iPlayer via the web browser, which should work fine if you make the browser display pages as a desktop computer.
it works great, thanks for the heads up.

Yes, but how do you request the desktop version--I can't see any way to do it--maybe I'm just thick...
stock ICS browser top left has a menu button... click it to access a drop down menu then click request desktop site

Ah I see just tried it and it works in the normal browser in desktop mode.
Talking about webpages does anyone know of a good sync app for bookmarks so you can have the same bookmarks as on your PC?
I use xmarks on my pc's but I'm not paying a yearly subscription just to use it on a tab.
Not using ICS as I'm s/nless--With the standard HC browser I'm getting very choppy HD play back, despite streaming speeds of 10mbs... Opera won't play any iplayer content at all.

On ICS, bookmarks are now segregated between local and online. So I have my Chrome browsers synced to my Google account that the Prime uses, so I see those bookmarks. When I save a bookmark on the Prime, I can save it either locally or to my Google account.
So, syncing's built in as long as you're using the stock browser and Chrome on the desktop.

Ah I see what you mean I use Chrome also on my desktop and can see all my desktop book marks on my Prime now. Thats an awesome feature and takes away the need for any third party app.

The few things I've looked at are fine. It's the BBC which I'm having problems with--which is a shame as it's a prime use of the prime for me.

I think the app is just not compatible with ICS, so I assume at some point they'll update it to work. It might not be tablet optimised, though.
The help page on the bbc says that it does this for android 3 tablets but doesnt say anything about android 4..
Then when you go to the website it wont let you watch live tv... which is really annoying..
Is everyone else in the uk getting this, or found a workaround?

[EDIT - Haha...dolphin sort of works if I go to the iplay site manually.. although it did keep freezing.. trying stock browser with "request desktop site" checked.. and that works too.]
a couple of questions please
Does it mean that the iPlayer natively only works on Honeycomb but not ICS? I have not updated to ICS yet.
Has anyone managed to get SkyGo working on Sony Tablet S please. I get error 9 and 10 on Honeycomb Wifi model.
The 'Request desktop site' button just changes the user agent and refreshs the current tab you are on.

I really dislike the default browser that comes with the s3.
Previous phones I have ran aosp browser and the miui browser. Both were much better imo.
Just curious as to what browser you guys are using and why.
Thanks guys.

Dolphin HD
Give it a try, and you'll see why.
Dolphin HD is fantastic. Chrome in my opinion is ever so slightly more fantastic. I have both installed but Chrome is my default.
Chrome
I'm still using the stock browser for now. I will be however looking into other ones in a few days!
Chrome.
Tab sync FTW. (just wish I could also close tabs on my other devices too).
Just yesterday I was "snooping" on my wife using Chrome on my PC while browsing reddit, and I was checking out the tabs she was opening... 2xychromosome?!
I have tried dolphin browser and I am not too crazy about it. Never tried chrome for android, might give that a go.

I used to be a big fan of Skyfire but they haven't updated their support for ICS yet. They seemed to also be a bit on the slow side but I stuck with them from their Windows Mobile days (HD2). Now though I use the stock browser and it allows for a desktop mode. Its quick and I have none of the downloading display issues I was having with Skyfire.
UC Browser.
Stock browser. It seems to do everything I need a browser to do on my phone
Firefox beta

Chrome. I just wish i could get the widget to load thumbnails for the previews.
Browser plus
t-mobile sgs3 stock rom/rooted
Chrome .. teh best.
Chrome because I tie it up with my PC
I use chrome as my default and dolphin hd whenever I need to load a page in desktop mode that doesn't work with chrome.
Dolphin HD is what i have refereed on all other devices. Anyone have any reason this phone would be better with a diff browser than I'm used to? Thanks

Chrome if you use the google features. If you don't use Chrome on a PC or doesn't know what it offers, then Chrome isn't really useful for you.
Opera
Does anyone know is there any method to be able to watch Amazon Prime videos on my Sprint Note 3 SM-N900P rooted with NC5.
Thanks for your help.
Just go to the desktop amazon site via chrome and watch a video.
Edit: never mind, looks like this doesn't work anymore.
I watch prime and hulu.
find patched flashplayer for kitkat (its posted on xda multiple times) and use browser that lets you change useragent to desktop... i use dolphin.
In your prime video settings make sure flash is selected and not silverlight and it will work.

Also the new dolphin doesn't have an option to select browser as desktop. And I didn't find any silverlight option.

Thanks, I just found out the only thing I have to change was the desktop mode and it works. I found that to change to desktop mode as default you need to open a Web page and the it gives you the option. Then a message will appear about silverlight or flash when you try to watch a movie for first time, I just select flash and that's it watch and it looks ok. Not bad.
Thanks a lot idone.
