I rooted my lg p500 and installed franco .35 kernel successfully. Now i want to unroot my fone and also wanna get back to stock/original kernel. Should i flash it with kdz with a stock gingerbread rom, but how will i get back stock kernel. I dont have any nand backups and also dont know what it is. Please help, as after rooting it randomly restarts and all my messages and contacts get deleted.
Search the forum, there's a link to download stock kernel, flash it and unroot, and if you wanna go completely back to stock there's a link for original recovery, you can flash it just like any zip

Downgrade from GB to Froyo
Hi Mihir
Thx for the reply .
Is it possible to downgrade using the KDZ updater .
I have downloaded the stock roms kdz file .
Donot use kdz it is dangerous. Kdz should only be used as the last resort.
You have cm7 right? So you should have CWM recovery. A nand backup of the stock rom can be found in the general section (go back a few pages you'll find the thread). You can restore this via recovery. I think they are AmonRa backups though. If you fail to restore then you shall have to flash amonra recovery and then restore the backup.

If I wana send my phone in to my SP for some reason, I'll need flash the stock kernel first, then unroot. I've soured the wastes, but nary could I find a p500 stock kernel.
Would someone be able to point me to one?? I'd be super happy, thank you in advance ^_^

and u get brand new phone, without root, without custom recovery, and brand new frimware... just download fimeware.kdz and install via kdz.

U sound confused bro. In short, if u ever need to go to the service center just flash the original lg firmware with kdz. U get everything back to stock. stock rom, kernel, unroot
If u are looking for only the LG kernel. Im not sure but it involves the bootimg file and other technical details. U will have to ask the devs
You can't get the stock kernel if you don't flash stock rom with KDZ Updater.
P.S : WHY YOU WANT TO FLASH THE STOCK KERNEL ?

Standalone stock rom kernel is not available. You can:
a. Restore your stock rom nand backup, or
b. Search the general thread, a stock rom nand backup has been posted, or
c. Flash stock firmware using kdz.
Hi.
Could somebody pls provide an official GB image (v20a,v20c, v20g) as recovery flashable zip?
And while being at it, a stock GB kernel as flashable zip would also be nice.
Thanks in advance.
marco
PS: I'm aware you need a new baseband.
Here you go:
http://www.multiupload.com/ACEDPLRI1X
Stock GB V20c (Untouched and untested. Though I have cooked a ROM with this)
Flash it at your own risk.
thank you very much!

I do not understand how to install this rom? I put the stockrom.zip on SD, i boot in to recovery (Custom Recovery), i chose install zip from SD card and i receive "Ïnstallation aborted" message. Any help? Thx in advance
Its probably not signed so u must disable the check.
And i have a feeling you arent aware of the baseband problem.

Let us know if it works I'd like to try

to be honest i haven't tried to flash the provided zip to my phone.
After being fed up with all the drawbacks of the custom GB roms, i used lgmdp and did the install process all the way from the beginning.
Right now i'm using stock unrooted v20g, not one single problem with the phone and with 50+ hours runtime i'm at 30% battery.
If somebody could give me a quick howto how to create a flashable image from an already installed phone, i'd do that and put that image online.
best regards
I googled a bit and will try to put something together this evening. I'll get back here when i got something.

well after you flash a custom rom you can ALWAYS flash a stock rom over it with ODIN .......and you can also flash the stock recovery so when u take it for repairs those guys wont know if u had rooted or flashed a custom rom
note: the stock recovery is for GT S5830 ONLY not its variants like i, m , t , b

Yup perfect...... He can also install CWM and take backup of Stock and flash custom.... If he don't want to use odin!
In case of repairs, he can restore that backup an flash stock recovery zip...

Odin is easier and faster. But an easier way if u don't have a PC available .!

I may be wrong on that point, but I think reverting to stock using Cwm is not exactly the same as with odin. Doesn't odin also flash the original recovery, instead of cwm? In that case, if you have to flash back to stock in order to send your device for repair, maybe the safer would be to flash with Odin.

It installs the same firmware, as the cwm backup is of the same firmware . Just the diff is that the backup is rooted .

Ok. So, do you agree with this summary?
* to revert simply to the rooted stock rom, use Cwm.
* if you have to send your phone to repair and don't want to void your warranty, flash the original "not rooted" firmware with Odin.

#1 not so correct......when u flash a custom rom like cm7 ur phones file system becomes ext4 wheras stock roms require rfs file system so you CANNOT restore your stock rom backup over a custom rom with cwm .......unless your custom rom has rfs file system(which custom roms normally dont have)..
