Update : vote now to get cyanogenmod 9 for i9100G : http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/42500-cyanogenmod-for-samsung-galaxy-sii-i9100g/page__st__120

hey ashwinsrihari
there is no ics update/ics based custom rom for i9100g yet.i dont know when it will be released but there are two options if you want ics
1.wait for ics leak/update from samsung so codeworkx can develop cyanogenmod 9 and other developers for i9100g can base their custom on the ics update/leak.
2.port ics from devices with similar cpu and gpu as i9100g like galaxy nexus, the only difference is the different chipset.if i did not help i am sorry.

galaxy nexus on my i9100G ...?

can i port roms made for galaxy nexus to my i9100G ...?

well i am not sure but please dont try something that you aren't sure of.please don try and flash galaxy nexus roms on i9100g directly since they have different chipset it might not work but with editing the rom will make it work.but one day someone will port roms device when i had i9000 it didnt receive ics update but the developers ported it i9000.if you do not understand do replay because i will explain to you about what you didnt understand.

Its more frustratiing that n00bs are just posting random crap in random places.
This forum is for developments, not for people to ask questions or create discussions. That is why dedicated general and QUESTIONS forums were created!!!

Because the dev forums are for devs ONLY!
Do you hoinestly think that just anybody should be able to post any old crap topic in dev forums?? Dont be ridiculous, Do you have any idea how much of a mess the forums would be and how many pages upon pages we would have to wade through to find the actual dev topics?!?!!

Then learn how to develop roms, get a different device or wait for a dev to come along who has got a G version.

You need to learn how to be nice with others, even if they did something wrong and silly.
Do you even own a i9100g?
If yes then you still need to learn how to be nice with people
If no then what the hell are you even doing here.
Some mad weird people have been appearing lately on xda, how sad.

This is a developers forum not some stupid fix my phone or supply me with firmware custom roms forum .
People with the attitude of the OP and yourself would be better off on another forum instead of posting your i want i want on this forum .
Yes XDA is sad of late as its full of users who do not understand the very basics of XDA developers forum .

Install a ROM model I9100"G".
Good afternoon friends!
I have a GT-I9100G, Excellent team! The best I ever had, but it is in English, I would like to install a Spanish official ROM, I've tried several downloaded from Samfirmware.com / Sammovile.com and I could not find one in Spanish, oh and the strange thing is that only allow me to install a ROM model "G". the other not, but is the model I get an error I9100G with ODIN and the process ends. Then to get it back again in English, I had to reinstall the kernel to enter into "Recovery Mode" and then the ROM.
Where I can download a ROM for I9100G in Spanish?
PDA: I9100GJPLC1
PHONE: I9100GXXKL4
CSC: I9100GOJPLC1
Please, I need help since I've updated my other brothers and mine not,
Greetings and thanks in advance,
Richard.

if you want cm9 then go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102
Download the
CM9 Resurrection Edition for use with Odin
that is simplest
or if you need stock ICS firmware use any ICS firmware LP7 or LP8 flash with idon read some thread you will understand every thing
Welcome to XDA and Galaxy S2 users. The Roll Up Sticky thread should be your starting point. Apart from that , the ICS Rom thread should get you starting on stock ICS roms. Once you are comfortable with these you can explore Android development and custom Roms forum.
Good luck.

Read the rules faqs and guides first then you wont post in the wrong forum .

Second you need to learn to search this question is asked ten thousand times already .
Third if you had read the faqs and guides you would have a clue .
.
As said stickies faqs etc links posted .
Stock ICS in General thread and in stock rom thread .
BUT as you know nothing why not update via official Samsung KIES method you are less likely to brick your phone .

Thank you all for the feedback. I have been around the net long enough to understand how things work, but I thought that I would ask to see if I could get pointed in the right direction. Thank you all very much.

Hello fellow owners of Galaxy players

I am new to xda, and have recently got a usa variant of the galaxy player 5.0. I have already rooted it and was wondering if someone could recommend a stable and nice rom for me to use? Also, does any ics kernel yet exist for this player ( or even better jellybean)?
Look forward working with this great forum and player!
If you guys need developers or testers for rom development count me in!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457 Here's all the rom for both the 4.0 and 5.0. For ICS on the 5.0 here's the thread. I believe it is listed by which is updated the most. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832697 but I'm not sure if it is a full working ROM without any problems.
Thanks
Thanks for the information , do you know how to start my own thread I am making for the rom im working on? When I click on make a new thread it says you have to get moderator permission first? Any ideas.

Are you doing it in the development section? Because if you are I think you have to have 10 thanked post to do so. If you're posting here than it should work. But I think you have to contact chrisd1a1 which is the forum moderator for the GP4.0 and 5.0 development. Hope this helps.

Hello,
The xda community requires 10 "thanked" post contributions before you enabled to post within the development forums. The purpose is to encourage new people to read through the threads before just repeating the same questions consistently. I believe you can still technically post in the general forums any question you have, just remember to thank other people's post and to give your two cents for the new newbie.

JKAY mod for ICS 4.0.4 on S2- Question to Mr JKAY

Dear Mr Jkay
Since I am a new user, I cannot reply to threads in development section. I'm one of the many users who payed for the full version of your app. I recently upgraded to from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 LPT, but as you know, your excellent mod cannot be used on 4.0.4.
I've noticed that you recently announced that you have decided to skip the 14.2 version for the S3, and wait for the official JB version for S3 to start working on ver 15 of your mod.. Is there a chance that since JB for S3 is not ready yet, meaning you cannot develop a mod w/o a rom, you take this time and start working on ver 14.2 for the S2 only (for 4.0.4 LPO and LPT which are the most popular roms)?
I think for most S2 users, a rooted stock 4.0.4 LPT plus a working full version of your mod is the could be the best rom solution for the long run... I personally have no interest in JB, at lease until it will be released officially for the S2 by Sammy, which I don't think it's gonna happen.
Your original quote:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807819&page=13
I really home you will not abandon your loyal S2 users
Best regards
EB

Are the new users allowed to PM .
I dont know cuz there are many limitations to them .!
Why o why ......
If u can't post u should read!
Everybody would like 4.0.4 jkay but he knows that. I think its been asked around a hundred times now. Maybe u should just be a little patient and follow the tread. Its not only u but a lot of people keep spamming with the same questions over and over. And yes maybe he will start again with 4.0.4 on the sgs2.... let's hope so ... but 1 thing is for sure..... if its there he will announce it!!!!!!! And yes I also bought the app.
Close this please!

[Q] port i9105 4.2.2 rom to i9100 ?

Hey,
The i9105 or galaxy s2+ just got a 4.2.2 update.
Any chance this can be ported relatively easy to our device ?
Go for it. I'm sure people will love you if you do.

Well, im looking for a helping hand.
Was hoping I could rally some help by posting and gaining attention.
In Q&A ? Unlikely. Devs don't read Q&A generally. Q&A is for n00bs who have no idea what they're doing mostly
In that case, maybe an admin can move this post ?
Report your OP & ask them. Won't get moved by you asking for same in the thread, this place is too big for mods to monitor stuff like that.
i dun understand why are u asking to port 4.2 from a device which has an entirely different SOC..
s2 plus has broadcom chipset while s2 has exynos...
u can manually backport apks bt not entire rom

Custom RoM suggestion for s2 i9100 :D

Hmm ... let's start ... guyz i need your help and opinions i need a good ROM for my s2 ... i have one now a cyanogemod 10.1 i think 4.2.2 but sometimes is pretty laggy or the phone is blocking and i have to reboot , please HELP ... someone told me about Biftor but i wait more suggestion with some good and STABLE ROM'S
This one. Threads like this are forbidden here (Try a bunch of roms out until you find one that suits your needs like the rest of us).
i didn't ask who is the best i want just some suggestion ... it's a difference
$50 says mods close this thread shortly.
Check out the development forum and have a read through all the 4.2.2 roms that are available or even the 4.3 roms. Have a read of each thread and you'll get an idea of what the users of that particular rom think about it.
Trial and error is the best way until you find the one that suits you.
cheers

As stated above reading the threads in the dev section is your best way to find the rom that will work well for your needs.
