AOKP Video Player - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I've been rooted for a while but just recently decided to take the plunge into some ics roms. Been running AOKP for a few days now and am loving it. The only issue I'm having is I can't seem to find a decent video player in the market. All the ones I've tried are either choppy or seem like they're playing in slow motion.
Any recommendations for a good video player that works well with ics/AOKP. Ideally, I'd like to get back to the stock player which worked perfectly for my purposes.
Thanks for any suggestions/help.

+1 for Bsplayer. Use it on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, too and it works great.

Despite the good reviews, MX player doesn't seem to jive with my device (everything's in slow-mo). Bsplayer seems more promising.
Is there any way to get the stock player that's been updated for ics?

Uninstalled/reinstalled MX Player and its solid now. Thanks all for the the respones.

Can't believe no one mentioned Dice Player.

I have a weird issue that MX Player (and BS player) won't HW decode some videos, says its not available. With the software decode there is an audio delay. Its a SD AVI file, plays other files fine, even some AVI files. Switched back to SHOstock2, and the TW player plays great. One thing I always miss when on non TW ROMs is that amazing player.

Mx player is the best no doubt.second place goes to moboplayer.however if ur using ics(cm9/one cosmic)which are pretty much alpha use moboplayer which works well on ics.mxplayer1.5 has issues which are being fixed..if not ics then go for Mx,its the best.

Anyone find a decent video player for this.device

Doesn't seem to have decent hardware acceleration like the international version but i can't find any player that play video without losing frames. I play a lot if.video and i have the international note which handles video far better so i thought perhaps i.can.find a better player. Anyone?

Based on what I read above I eagerly downloaded MX Player. It was in no way as smooth as Zimly media player.
I picked up Zimly initially just to play music, I don't like bothering with playlists, I just wanted something to shuffle tracks.
Since I don't want to start another thread. I'll just ask it here ..
Is there a video player that can play mkv files WITH subtitles? Like Anime videos?
Thanks in advanced.

Best video player

hi guys, i just got myself this tablet and im loving it, im trying to play mkv files on the tablet but the player i have been using on my phone doesnt work that well on the tablet, (QQplayer)
what do ye recommend to play mkv files
MXplayer.....
and witch codec is it? or you dont install any codecs?
No codecs needed
I think BS Player Lite is better then MX Player. MX stopped support for DTS decoding and MX plays AC3 on SW mode and not HW. BS Lite has it's own HW engine and play AC3 on HW mode.
I agree, Bsplayer also have lan mode to stream without problems from my pc
Tried BS Player and it works fine! Plays Mkv without any problem and with sound
thank you for the suggestion

Yeah, I agree. I was using MX Player and was getting the force close issue where it intermittently quits playback. I changed to BS Player and no more issues.

BS player lite too...
I don't need MX anymore since i'm able to lock android buttons directly from OS
(BS player is not offering any lock option)
I tried XBMC yesterday but it seems to use installed codec...

How can you get the VLC player on TF300T ?
I went to Google play and didn't show any VLC player (even Beta).
I like VLC player on my PC. It can play almost anything (avi, mkv, iso, vob, etc...)
Thank you.

Stock.
I guess I just haven't come across a need for another player. I am sure there are some, but all my videos play fine with stock.

Mxplayer if you use freaky-deaky codecs that you could basically only play using VLC player on your PC.
Stock for everything else. Stock plays a lot of different containers and codecs, and it has S Pen integration which makes it that much sweeter.
I was using MX Player. I'm now trying BSPlayer. So far it's great. Plays all the videos stock doesn't and MX did. I like BS because of the popup player. I find that very useful.
thanks guys

can't believe people aren't mentioning the fact htat BS player can play dts natively and MX player can't.

How are these other players better than the stock

Stock for me, same for all five android phones I've owned.
Act 1 for me.
I like Dice-player best of all because it could handle some odd subtitles that nohting else could (at the time). Recently bsplayer now handles those subtitles and it has a nice interface but I've gotten quite use to dice and have no complaints. I used to like mx and mobo player but once I started using dice I dropped them - when I was recently re-testing the subtittle issue (and noticed bsdplayer update) I found mx (or was it mobo?) quite awkward (these things tend to be moving targets since all 4 of them are constantly updating). Anyways for now (as I have for the past year) will stick with dice as the primary and then use bsplayer as the fallback. I suppose if one day those two can't handle the video I'll recheck mx and mobo. Btw they are all quite small so there is little reason to not have all of them installed. Um - there was some issue with dice and google a while ago and the eventual outcome was the paid version was removed and the free version no longer has ads.
Anyways I think the gut of these players are all quite similar (ffmpeg) and it is just a question of interface and which one is updated most often (though it does appear that each does have some local mods; at least dice have). I have no clue why dice was the only one to support the specific subtitles I used for 9+ months but that with the clean user interface was a deciding factor for me.

For be I was studying for a registry exam and the 14 in depth videos I needed were unsupported on stock. They did play great on mx though. So basically they support a wider range of formats.
