batterysafe rom - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

i search a gingerbread rom with long batterylife, at the moment i have ics but the performance is bad. whats the best gb rom with long battery life? sorry for my bad english

Did you try that my friend ?
I think you should with Aire Kernel...

yes but keyboard doesn't work, alltimes when i want write something cames an error

Why say that ? ICS offers me 3 days usage
Can GB bring longer usage ?

i am using .62 stock firmware , rooted it and removed all bloatware. This firmware is giving me 3 days of battery backup.
I am using my Ray for 10-15 calls , some messages and email checks

ics can also last 3days~
well , in another thread there are discuss about an ICS bug cause severe battery drain, I myself just got the same problem and followed the instructions ( which is: turn off touch sound, lock sound and touch vibration feedback, btw I'm not sure if I spell these items correct because I'm using Chinese),then My little Ray's battery just get enough power to last for 3 days' usage.
I got about 5 calls per day, almost no SMS but read E-book for 1 and a half hour and listen to music at the same time.

Is this battery performance normal on ICS LPQ?

Hi, I just recently flashed the LPG ICS Rom to my phone 2 days ago. I did the wipe and flashed through mobile Odin. I restored some of my apps and data with Titanium (also uninstalled most of the samsung apps)
I already did a battery recalibration (pulling the battery at 100% etc.) but I am getting pretty bad numbers. Just 7 hours tops, I guess a lot more if I dont turn on the phone but I guess this is really wrong.
Am I missing something? Should I uninstall or disable something more? This exact configuration gave me minimun 12 to 14 hours on a stock not ICS ROM.
Also I should mention that I am using Juice Defender Ultimate with connection intervals of 5 minutes, pretty average settings.
Any suggestions, tips or guesses?
Thanks a lot!
PS. I dont have any strange apps, just the normal (facebook, twitter, whatsapp, Talk...), My display brightness is set to auto.
What really matters is screen on time and you are getting barely 2 hrs and that is indeed awful but in line with all the complaints I've been seeing in the forums.
The update I got was not LPQ but rather LPE (Trinidad & Tobago) which was released the same day as LPQ. I am getting 4.5 hrs screen on time (around 15 hours with my usage habits). This is barely acceptable as I usually got 5 hours 15 min of screen on time with my stock 2.3.4.
Hopefully Samsung will fix this soon, it was supposed to be the other way (battery life improvement).
Soo...
So I guess I'll just have to wait the next rom releases, as it seems that they are improving the rom every new release? Does that make sense? the roms are being released almost one day apart from each other, arent they the same?
In case that for example a new rom comes out tomorrow and the fellows here say that it really improves battery life. What should I do? wipe and install just as this one? or would I be fine without wiping?
Thanks a lot!

Their is no normal battery usage and you have not given battery any time at all to recalibrate .
Just read the battery posts and use Better Battery Stats .
If their is a problem a full wipe is always best .

Ok, so after a couple of days using it.
The battery now lasts almost 9 to 10 hours with normal use. but I deactivated Juice defender.
Now I have disabled all of google location stuff, and some of google services autosync (like google photos and reader). And will turn on juice defender to see how it goes.
Ill update my findings.
Thanks.
Ooh my holy f#, the amount of ics battery threads its too damn high

[Q] MiniCM7-2.2.0 battery drain problem anyone?

So I FINALLY took the time to update it from 2.1.9 to 2.2.0 yesterday, since I've been busy and haven't had time ever since the release.
I noticed it's running a lot faster (although on 2.1.9, I've never had a problem with speed or performance anyway). Google Play market doesn't lag at all, I could download multiple apps and at the same time check out other apps without any lag or interference. I also noticed that the keyboard light bug is fixed too.
However, I did notice once problem though and I think some people have experienced this as well. The battery drain is crazy fast. I went to sleep with my phone at 14%, after 6 hours I find it down to 4%. 10% drain in 6 hours of idle use is just crazy. I've never had a battery problem on 2.1.9, in fact it was so awesome that I could let it sit idle for 6 or 7 days.
I've installed the same apps on 2.2.0 as I did on 2.1.9. Nothing too out of the ordinary, just the common usual apps that most people use, like GoSMS etc. I haven't overclocked at all, everything is on stock/default settings. I do use underclock and my own custom settings on 2.1.9, but I just wanted to test 2.2.0 before making any changes to it and judging from this, the battery life is really bad on just stock settings.....
I've turned off wifi & bluetooth, and set the mobile network to 2G and data disabled. I normally just use my phone for txting. I don't listen to music or watch videos at all because I use my iPad or iPod Touch for that, since they have bigger screens. I also don't use internet that much unless I do an occasional app update from Google Play market. I also don't call much either.
I've already wipe battery stats from recovery, and will do more testings. One thing I must note though, the charging takes really fast.......
+1, it's true. I've read that the battery drain is related to the signal too. Maybe is variable to each of us. More feedback of other users about this will be appreciated
Haha! Yes man YES!!! I saw this fast charge too. I'm uninstall all social app. All app who use data , sync and etc. I say in MINICM tread this come from kernel and when my 3G I on I'm lose my batt for a 3 , 4 hours. NAa come up and start saying its Android fool. I not answer him coz I respect that boy but how the hell when I'm on 2.1 3G work like it be , phone not rise temprature, battery last long -17h and so on but in minicm its give bug ? I can't understand coz baseband its same 3G chip is same. I say this coz NAa tell chip work with baseband not with kernel or ROM.....
ANYWAY now I'm on hard searching for a PC coz im sick of this ROM and can't handle it anymore!!!
Its camera bug , radio bug or what ewer other bug , dalvick bug ,clasex bug and so ob WILL NOT BOTHER me coz I can live with it but BATTERY ?!! NO SIR I CANT.
Ewen now while I type this post its drop 3% !! For a one post
I'm tired to charge phone 2 times a day.
I'm tired to apply tricks ju-defenders and hell of stufs just for save battery
In fact my ST15i its with same GB ... but from Sony.
In fact usage of phone is same as my robyn
In fact ST15i last 3 days - robyn -3 hours.
Notice this: apps are same data sync wifi and etch seting same.
Cpu- faster than robbyn no OC/UV
CPU - UV set to 600 max
Wish me luck to find PC soon ...

I appreciate you sharing your opinion, but I don't like your tone. Nobody is forcing you to use nAa's rom, the least you can do is give constructive feedbacks and point out bugs so that he can fix and improve upon them.
I haven't had any problems on v2.1.9 except for the occasional keyboard lights and wifi, although the wifi might just be related to my router because it works fine when I'm at UNI. I guess it's gotta do with the custom kernel, but I use my iPod Touch or iPad on wifi most of the time anyway. Other than that, I would prefer a custom rom over a stock rom any day.
And btw, the battery problem for me isn't that bad. I charged it to 100% yesterday morning, and today I still have 65% left. I estimate that I get about 2 days worth of usage from a 100% full charge. It's acceptable somewhat, just that on v2.1.9 it would last me about 3 or 4 days.
If you really dislike it, switch everything back to stock and don't complain.
Yep I'm goin to do back to 2.1
And I thing buy Ipad Iphone and Isiktir to coz they are better.
Yeah I can live without custom ROM
In fact I can live without phone.
Point myself to NOKIA LUMIA - the next gen SP

LP9 Very Buggy
Hi,
LP9 is very buggy. Its recommended not to use it.
Samsung will release new one soon, we all are waiting for it May be (4.0.4).
You can get back to LP7 or LP8.
*Battery Problem
*Network connection issue
*WiFi issue
*Touch Respone issue...
Etc.....Waiting for New stable ROM.
so u suggest i do a full wipe and get back to lp8 or lp7 any way which one is better and can u link me something fast cuz the links in the main thread are very slow

I'd use LP8 but you could just use its kernel with LP9.
This is well covered in the main thread. The search button is your friend.

S3 performance decrease after new 4.1.1 update?

So I updated my S3 to the latest Android version 4.1.1 and ever since i've had some issues. Firstly, it's taken a hit on it's performance, it's nowhere near as quick and responsive as it was before I updated (this is the first firmware update i've done since having it)
I've also noticed that my phone doesnt vibrate when receiving text messages. With sound on, the sound does make the noise it's supposed to, just no vibration, also when the actual phone is on vibrate mode, texts dont vibrate when received - the phone vibrates when I receive calls though.
I've checked the settings and everything is how it should be, so i'm not sure why this happens - has anyone else noticed this and also, how can I roll back to the previous firmware version!?
I have been using custom roms on my gs3 since day one ( 4 and a half months ago ) so i cant comment on performance of stock roms, but my my phone is faster than ever with Insert Coin 2.3.1 JB. Considering custom roms are based on official roms i would suggest doing a hard reset cause your device should be faster after the update. To enable the vibration you must do it within the settings of the message app. Open messages, press the menu button and enable vibration. Excuse my english. Hope this helps.

First day with custom rom user too.
I suggest ditching the stock firmware and try some custom one.
It's easy and no harm can be done(if you do it right of course)
The one i settled in the end is Foxhound so i'd reccomend you to use that one.
You can skip the kernel part and have the stock one but there are lots of good ones out there,so i'd suggest to start with Yank Lou kernel or galaxiysh since those are close to stock and don't need user adjustments.
If you need something more advanced to give you control try Perseus(i'm using this right now) or Siyah.
Cheers,George.

factory reset .... not always necessary after an upgrade ... but if there are any performance issues after flashing often sorts things - I ALWAYS did a factory reset after flashing my old SGS1 as it was very susceptible to flakey performance post-flashing for example.
...and upgrading from ICS to JB ... I'd reset if not completely happy.
That is true. Real multitasking was gone on JB.

My S3 also was very slow first. Then suddenly it ran fast a few hours after the update. Now again the launcher very often hangs up.

I don't think it is anyhow faster than ICS it only looks faster through modulation of the animations.
Anyhow it is not slower after all though the benchmarks suggests it might be a bit slower.
I think that data wiping can fix many issues. if you would like to go back to ICS, all what you need is to visit samfirmware.com ,download your suitable rom and flash it through Odin which I prefer so much over the OTA
problem with charging
hey guys i am facing a problem with charging my s3 ever since i did the official update to jelly bean a few days ago the problem is that it is taking about 10 hrs to just finish charging from 10-15% of battery to 100% this is one of the major reason why i finally decided to root and finally install a custom rom but it doesn't that the problem is fixed as my phone is on charging as i post its battery level just went from 9% to 25% in the last 2 hrs. can any body pls post any help regarding this problem that i'm facing? I shall point out that before the update my phone would charge up from 10% to 100% in 2-2.5 hrs

Thanks for your input guys, I think I might look into getting a custom ROM. I won't mod my phone too heavily, maybe find a nice battery saving app and also a few performance tweaks. It seems like there's so many out there I don't know which one to choose! I flashed my HTC sensation when I had it and for that I used the android revolution HD and didnt face any issues (that I can remember) so I might use this, or just see how I go. I havent looked too much into flashing for the S3 so I guess I best start looking!
Guys,
So i've just rooted my phone and installed the android revolution HD ROM by mike1986 and its ALOT faster than when it was on stock!
Whilst i'm here, what's the BEST way to save battery life? I know they're mentioned all the time but has anyone actually noticed any difference when trying to save it at all?
i must say JB is very good in performance..
using Omega v31 here... damn smooth

[Q] [Battery] Froyo vs. GB vs. JB ( Xperia x10 Mini Pro )

People, i have been searching about battery life of all roms, and everyone always have different opinions about this subject.
So my question to you is: on our Xperia Mini Pro x10, what has the best battery life?
The stock 2.1 eclair?
Froyo?
Gb?
Ics? I don't think so xD.
Jb?
battery life in: standby mode, calls, listen to music, and everything else, who is better?
Some say GB ( but i notice that under 20% the battery is not very stable on the percentage counting, and even with more battery than 20% there are some times where it just stays the same number and then boom it drains almost 2% in a second ).
Some say stock eclair ( but i notice that in sleep mode it drains the same battery percentage as if it wasn't on sleep mode ).
Some say JB ( but i think it drained faster than gb, and has many many bugs ).
Some say Froyo ( but i never tried it because in some forums they don't advise it, they always say update to GB and don't use froyo ).
So people, give here your opinions, this will not only help me, this will help everyone that wants to know more about this as well .
Good answers will always deserve a click on the thanks button by me
Cheers
Well I have tried roms since the times o Owain, and all the old devs. so I have tried eclair, custom eclair, froyo, GB with stock, gb with custom, cm7, cm9, cm10.
talking about battery life you have to take into account something first. the use that you give to the phone.
people tend to take a lot into account the % that the battery displays, and do lots of "clear battery stats" (and that doesn't work much) because if you have a max capacity of 970mAh, even if you clear the batstats 1000 times you will still have 970 mAh.
then with this, what you need to know is what kind of use you give to your phone, and when in that kind of use, how many hours of battery you can expect
like every electronic device, the mobile phone have a minimal battery drain.
because it keeps a signal between the cell tower and the phone, to this you have to add things like, the coverage, distance to the tower, the kind of signal (3G - 2G )
that's the minimal drainage of the battery. to this you need to add the usage of bluetooth, and the data.
until here we are talking about the expected drainage of the battery. and here you can see that the same phone can have different levels of drainage, that depends of factors like the location of the phone.
so up to here we can say that a phone has a minimal battery drainage that is affected for external factors.
[up to here with eclair, the drainage was terrible, even with bluetooth off, wifi off, data off, the battery life was between 10 to 13 hours to me, froyo wasn't better, GB with stock bosteed to 15-17 hours, and GB, JB with custom, can get between 19-27 hours, having tweaked the settings. (using the phone just for calling having the most battery duration the days with less calls), with wifi enabled, I can get between 6 hours to 15 hours, it depends of what I'm doing with the phone. (this means, whatsapp, line or whatever app you use for chat and social). and with data, this can be tricky. you can get between 3 to 7 hours data is tricky or special because it gets the drain for being on, the kind of network and the signal strength.
so with all this I want to say, that using the %isn't really accurate to read the battery duration. because it will use more or less battery depending of what you do with the mobile phone.
and there are other things that makes the phone use more or less battery, things like the kind and the number of apps that you install in the phone.
so going back to your question. regarding battery life, the best roms in my opinion will be the GB+ roms, and better if you can use a custom kernel. but again you can't expect a long battery life, if you use your phone intensively
In this moment I'm using kernel 2.6.29.6 nAa-jb-03 rom Jelly Beam mini project release 2 my phone is an U20 mimmi. and my battery times are.
standby mode: 24 - 27 hours
calls: when I have the phone in mode just for calls I can get 16 - 20 hours (and no using the phone for anything else, just calls, no wifi, no data, no bluetooth )
listen to music: I normally use the phone with bluetooth headset. and I combine it with calls so I get 7 - 12 hours.
3G - WIFI in standby: between 10 - 19 hours. (stanby just using to get notifications, mails)
3G on the move; 5 - 6 hours
WIFI: 6 hours if I'm using it. it goes up if mix with pauses etc.
so you can see that the battery life depends a lot of how, and where you use your mobile phone. hope this help a bit. and JFYI, these are my times. it's my personal experience. after using the phone in the conditions described. other users may say other things, but I feel confident, that in any time of the day, I can say, how much time I have left of battery, and how much time will the phone be on, if I do X, or Y thing with it.
tried to write this, with my best english, but again, you can find some grammar off, because Is not my mother language, and my level is just B2.

Well mate thanks for your answer .
Now that you speak about the battery draining according to our use of it, maybe it's better for me to tell some more details then xD.
Actually, i know the percentage that i will drain every day because what i do with the phone is like Automatic and almost the same drain and lasting days xD, so i may say that for me Percentage counts a lot on this question because i notice everyday that the draining is always the same in the tasks i do ( always the same tasks everyday ) xD.
More detailed: Everyday always the same tasks at the same times - 1/2 mini calls ( not answered ), some sms ( not much ), and 1h of music that drains 8-10% everyday of the battery, and some exception Call that i may receive, With only 2g, no wifi, minimum brightness, 480mhz max/19 mhz min, and all other minimum things to save battery. Using Gingersony GB Rom my battery lasts 3 days or almost 3 days with these repeated use of the phone.
So now that you know the kind of use i make, what rom would you advise me? still the Gb rom? or other one? xD.
I also notice that you said well about Gb rom, but analyzing everything you said i saw that you said the JB rom lasted you more than the GB rom, but you said GB was better in battery, i didn't understand that part xD.
Oh and another thing, Music is very important to me so the sound has to be good and loud, and i don't know if any JB version already corrected the Sound Bug :S.
Well, one thing is for sure, Eclair is the worst in battery life in your opinion right? xD.
Thanks again for the good answer .
Cheers
ok, I was saying that GB, and JB has the best battery duration. but always depends of the use. because in general you can get
and GB, JB with custom, can get between 19-27 hours, having tweaked the settings

also note this part
the best roms in my opinion will be the GB+ roms, and better if you can use a custom kernel.

this means roms GB and plus, this include JB.
on my actual rom I get
standby mode: 24 - 27 hours

but I have the phone with OC on 748max 245min
and about sound, then maybe you will like to try nAa, the last nightly with the last kernel, unless you use a bluetooth headset, there is still a bug in that part. (jellybean, rom)
on GB minicm7, gingerdx, and arcmini, was the roms that I liked the most. If I would have to go back to GB I would go between nAa minicm7 or gingerdx.
but never eclair. god, eclair just comes to my phone when I had to make a seus.
If you mod Eclair a little bit (use jit, insmod x10miniuv.ko for undervolting automatically and removing useless apps) I get around 4 to 5 days mostly standby (few phonecalls, my alarms (about 5 a day), few sms-messages), and it's quite smooth.
The same on the latest JB and the latest 2.6.32.60-JB kernel gives me about 3 to 3.5 days of the same use.
I'm trying out a stock-kernel based gb-rom at the moment, i'll get back to you on that one in about a day or 4, lol

I'm gonna try now the latest JB with Latest Kernel.
Wow in the eclair version so many days? xD, do you know how to do those things step to step? because original stock without cwm doesn't have undervolting options xD.
Yes, then tell me your results xD.
Cheers

in it's days, I tried that but definitely... is better to go GB.
well that's my opinion.

Thanks, i'll try now the last nightly of minicm10 and kernel 05 ( the last one ) , i'll tell you results then, but Bluetooth is working? Bluetooth is good to transfer files to other phones .

I asked you that because for me the most important is the battery life, like you saw on my tasks i only use basic things in my phone like hearing music making little calls and send sms, so if eclair has more battery life with some changes then i'm interested xD.

Latest JB didn't like it :S , slower than GB and Eclair and the sound bug with low volume is still there and has no Bluetooth either :S .
By the looks of things, maybe i'll come back to eclair and remove unneeded apps :S.
But i need to know what things i may do to make eclair last those 4-5 days xD.
Cheers

Step 1: If you haven't done this yet:
Go to the folder where you installed flashtool, select the firmware subfolder and delete x10blrelock.ftf, it will brick your phone if you flash it accidentally.
Step 2: Collect some stuff
You will need:
Jit-enabler
CWM-Installer
X10Mini Undervolt module
Root-Explorer
(My apologies to the people who made this stuff, can't remember where i got it all from, so I'm mirroring it from my private cloud)
Copy the first three to your phone's sd-card
Copy the Root Explorer to the flashtool/custom/apps folder on your computer
Step 3: Flash stock firmware (repair with SUS or PC Companion will do nicely)
Step 4: Start flashtool and click the padlock-button to root your phone
Step 5: Click the +-button to install xRecovery to your phone
Step 6: Click the curved arrow button (apk-installer) to install the Root Explorer to your phone
Step 7: Turn off your phone and boot into xRecovery (Eclair does not have a reboot option)
Step 8: Install zip from sd-card: Choose CWM-installer and reboot back into Recovery
Step 9: Install zip from sd-card: Choose JIT-enable
Step 10: Reboot
I think you have to start Root-explorer, press menu-button, preferences, root options and tick root-explorer, up-to-root (or something like that) and mount system as r/w (or something like that)
My language isn't set to english so i can't properly check the english wording.
Step 11: Copy the x10miniuv.ko from your sd-card into /system/lib/modules
Set permissions to rw-r--r-- (long press file-name, properties, it shows permissions and a change-button)
Edit /system/etc/hw_config.sh and insert the line 'insmod /system/lib/modules/x10miniuv.ko' without the quotes.
Reboot!
You can now use Root-explorer to delete unwanted apps from your /system/app folder, and from the /data/app folder. (Leave the root-explorer in there)
Start with looking at running services, you can delete all apk's that are running at startup, except for the clock, settings and input-method.
There is quite a lot of stuff you can delete, if you're not sure you can either:
1: Just leave it in
2: Rename the .apk to .apk2 and see if your phone still works as you want (If it doesn't rename it back to .apk and you'll be fine)
3: Search for list of apps safe to remove on these forums
4: Ask if something is safe to delete or not.
I can't promise you 4 or 5 days of battery-life, but it will be as battery-efficient as anything else out there.
Have fun and let us know your experience .

Thank you very much man .
I'm going out now but in 6/7 hours when i get back home i'll do what you just said and let you now the results .
Question: Does this also make The sleep/plain mode as battery efficient as GB roms in that mode?. Is it possible to also change themes and status bar? The JB and ICS status bar apks that are downloadable on playnow or something like that are very very buggy :S, so if you know a good one tell me .
Cheers

Yes, it turns down the voltage when the phone runs under 600Mhz, so it will use next to nothing in sleep-mode (How do you think i get 4 days out of it )
Not sure about themes and mods, never really looked into that, see in the apps and themes section if there's anything half decent available. Or maybe you can put in a request there.
Also try this [ROM] 2.1.1.Clean.0.0 v6
Clean version of latest Android version 2.1 (Eclair) by Sony Ericsson
It's for Pro

I knew it existed but i never knew if it was good because i tried other 2.1 roms that the battery seemed a little worse than GB :S xD.
So are you saying that, that clean rom you just mentioned has 4-5 days battery like SmG67 says it's possible to do? Or it's better to flash original eclair and then do those steps SmG67 told me on it?

For that effect do i have to put Undervolt on? I never used it because of the instability issue and i don't want to head shot my phone faster xD, is it safe to do?.
Good , in all roms i tried they only drained 0% or 1% in sleep mode but only when the battery is at 100% but... when i turn off sleep mode it will drain 1-2% very fast ( few minutes ), if it is at 57% for example it will drain almost normally ( 4-6% ), that always have been my problem as well :S xD. But with this steps you just told me, that won't happen again?.
Yes i could request, but i'm gonna search first xD, i like doing things by myself and only when i say i can't do it then i'll ask for help xD.
I'm gonna do Both options right now , i'll tell you results when i have them and thanks in advance .

I always use the undervolt, no matter what rom i'm on and my phone is not experiencing any instabilities. And it certainly won't kill your phone any faster, as a matter of fact, lowering the voltage means less heat and longer life, lol.
My usual drain on stock rom with undervolt is around 20% per 24 hours in normal use, Checking now how much an hour of music will take out of it

Lol if you say it's safe then i'll try xD, but... if Gb last me 3 days without undervolting, does this mean that if i used undervolt the GB version would last 4 days instead of 3? xD, maybe not because i don't think that undervolt will give Extra 24h xD.
'x10miniuv.ko' and 'Jit Enable u10i' but my phone is x10 mini 'pro', is this file correct for my phone? xD.
That's a very good lasting phone you got there , at the end of the day i get about 30-36% drain xD. Check an hour but also Half an hour xD , in half an hour i drain 4-5% xD.
Hope my phone really don't die in undervolt because i listen to music everyday Louder than the limit of 100db and that pushes CPU a little xD, i use mixzing and i always turn up the volume to 100-103db xD.
