Sorry to bother you guys but i'm looking for THE epub reader.
I'll explain myself. I read epub on both my phone and tablet (htc sensation, soon replace by S3, and my asus TFP). It's pretty hard to find a good app for reading epub.
I want to sync all my book, bookmarks, notes between my devide.
I've tried:
moon reader (lot of lag when turning pages, and don't like to use dropbox, i don't have an account)
aldiko (no turning pages effect, no sync)
kobo (needs a account)
fbreader (no shelf, no syncing)
mantano (no turning pages effect, no sync)
google books (not available in France, can't import epub file)
go books (no sync)
Mantano had a service for syncing but It's really lame to having me paid just for that.
So, at the end, I'm looking for an app with:
shelf
turning pages effect (optionnal)
free syncing
Smooth (lag driving me crazy)
Off line dictionnary
What did I missed?
I don't use an ebook reader app but there is an Aldiko Sync app in the Play Store.
admiralwilly, have you found something?
Thank you.
Maybe moon reader but it's need a dropbox account. I've figured out that the syncing function isn't working very well. I've check it since last update.
Moved to correct sub forum.

Hi all,
I'm in the nice position of having managed to cancel my orange contract early for free ( T+C changes) and can now take out a spanking new contract.
The hero is top of the list as I can't be waiting for the X3 to emerge.
I currently have a Touch HD/Blackstone.
The HD can do all I want it to, I use it mainly for business, so the question is this:
Can the hero sync my outlook calender ok(it is linked to my google account as well)? Can it read adobe file ok? and Doc's? excel?
Does it recieve email ok?
Basically, can it do all I've mentioned ok?
Sorry so long winded.....
Ta
Edit: bugger, typo in title!
Basically, yes to all, although I haven't actually tried Excel.
Yes it will read Excel files, using QuickOffice - but can't write to Excel or Word docs
You can read and write Word and Excel using Documents to go.
Regards,
Dave
Outlook requires HTC Sync
Google Mail/Calendar/Contacts sync out of the box
Exchange works on the hero just fine
Mine recieves my emails before my desktop does (which is nice)
PDF's, DOC's, XLS's can be read with QuickOffice but there are tools on the market for writing to them
Don't use HTC Sync. If your outlook calendar is already linked to your google account, use that instead. HTC Sync is just atrocious.
as for the rest, yes, quick office opens them to view, but you can buy Documents-to-Go in the market which can edit them as well.
Can someone please throw me a bone and tell me how to make zinio magazines work for google books or another reader?
I'm sure there are other readers out there but google books really tickles my fancy with the whole page turning animation. Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated....'cause the zinio reader suuuuuucks
BTW, zinio is hookin' it up with 25 ziniobucks for new logins. I created a few logins with a few of my email addresses and got the bucks code and used 'em for my main login. Score!! I've now got all the magazines I could ask for...for the year, for FREEEEE

From your browser log directly into Google books or search for Google books and go to my library it will give you several options to see your previous downloads.
Purchased
Reviewed
Recently viewed
Browsing history
Favorites
etc. etc.
thanks for that, but it only will show books i've actually bought, nothing else, so it wont show anything there, this was a sample book only....
Hi All,
I am playing the the TF201 that I just got for work, and am looking for alternative GUI's for editing an syncing a google docs spreadsheet on the tablet.
The google docs app is ok but the editing on it is not intuitive and sloppy.
I tried Polaris, but it doesn't sync with the current doc, just uploads it back to the server and screws up the formatting. I also tried Office Suite but can't test the editing/syncing part without purchasing it. Same with Docs to go.
My docs is just rediculous.
Anybody else have any good insight to a friendly GUI on the android tablet?
THanks!
My favorite interface has always been from Quick Office HD. I love having a full page view as opposed to the text being all the way at the top right. The only annoying thing is the lack of autosave for Gdocs.

you could also try google docs in the chrome browser. it works better than in any other browser. cheers!
Is Google Drive any better?
I don't know if you can sync, but Kingsoft office is great and free.
EDIT: It can use cloud, you can add all your cloud accounts that support Webdav protocol. For google docs, use this eservice: http://dav-pocket.appspot.com/. It enables to access Google Docs via Webdav. And it's free.
Office Suite Pro 6 allows you to sync and edit Google Docs, as well as documents on you dropbox or box account.

Collatebox the best alternative to google spreadsheets
Google docs are ok, but a better solution with online and offline editing along with mobile solutions would be Collatebox ! Do go through the trial and website as well. They seem promising.
Microsoft office app is good
Can anyone tell me how to add a downloaded epub to my account. I like to sync my books between my phone and my nook and I have a lot of books on my phone that I've either downloaded from other places or edited and they don't sync thru b&n. Does anyone know how to make this happen?

Copy/move the epub to sdcard/nook/mydocuments.
Another option is to use one of the many cloud services; dropbox Ubuntu, spideroak, etc. Set it up to sync your books folder.

I use Calibre and use the device syncing myself, but the dropbox option is a good one.
I find the the library app finds the epub files placed almost anywhere in either /media or /sdcard but the My Files/Books folder on either seems to be designed for it.
Yeah, the problem is it doesnt then sync across devices. Like from the app on my phone and my nook. I here adobe digital editions lets you sync books to your actual B&N account. So I think I'll try that sometime soon.
