Hi there,
I just bought an unlocked Bell Motorola Atrix, using it on the Rogers network. I used seven's guide towards flashing the french 2.1.1 sbf and then Greyblur shortly after, and everything turned out nicely (almost). I keep getting a notification about receiving a voicemail, but I no longer have a voicemail set up. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could get rid of it from my notification bar?
edit: I called Rogers Tech Support and they told me that I could get rid of it by doing a Factory Wipe, because the problem is rooted inside of the software itself. Can anyone shed some light please? Thanks. *__*
Hi
I just bought a Galaxy S II and as soon as I put my Canadian Fido sim card
the voicemail notification appeared.
I tried different things but it does not want to go away.
I left a message to myself and then I listened it from my S II, I deleted it
and I press # to hung up but again nothing.
I removed my sim card and I inserted it again but nothing.
I erased everything on the phone and I set it up from scratch again nothing.
Finally I called Fido and I told them to reset my voicemail which they did
but again nothing.
As soon as I put my sim card to my motorola Atrix or my nexus one I dont get the voicemail indicator.
Has anyone faced this problem?
How do I remove the voicemail indicatior
Thanks
Simple answer: You can't.
You can turn the sound off of the notification but it's something sent from the carrier usually. Have you tried another SIM in the phone to see if it still stays there?
If not I'd say the first port of call -- as always -- is a factory reset.
I would have agreed with you but if my carrier where in this case Fido
keeps sending me the voicemail notification dont you think
I would have the notification to my motorola Atrix or Nexus one?
Also I called them up and they reset my voicemail
I did try a factory reset twice
Guys, this is really annoying me so any chance of a little help please...
Today I received a notification of new 'Voicemail'.
I didn't know the number (hate it when this happens as there is a charge every time you listen to the message).
As it happens the message wasn't for me but I was still charged to listen to it.
Anyway, if that is not enough what is annoying is the voicemail notification simply will not go away from the top bar.
Every time I reboot the phone it first starts to play out loud the voicemail notification and the only way to terminate it is to pull down the notification bar.
Thing is what's further annoying is no matter what I do I can not remove the voicemail icon and notification from the top bar.
When I click to listen to the voicemail it simply tells me I don't have any outstanding voicemail so I then hang up but the notification will not go away.
I have been to the T-Mobile web site obviously there is nothing there and on the phone I have dialled 150 Option 4, 1, 1 which is meant to stop voicemail (I think).
Help please..... It is driving me crazy.
I also want to know
It drives me crazy
I am with fido and I have a voicemail notification and it does not want to go away
I erased the phone 2-3 times, I left a message in my voicemail and then I deleted
no matter what I do the notification is there.
I tried the same with my nexus one and atrix but I dont have any notification.
It seems to be the phone itself
Just a long shot, but have you got a txt message that relates to having a voice mail, if so try deleting?

Well, in a weird sort of way I am pleased I am not the only one who is having this issue (apologies prince_72). It shows the problem is not isolated to either my phone or some form of settings.
In answer to morg01 ~ no... as a protection to my profession once I have received and actioned any text messages they are deleted. So it can not be a previous message that is the cause.
If the blessed thing has not disappeared come Monday I will speak with T-Mobile to ask if they have an answer.
However, I think they will most probably point me either to here or here but all these do is terminate voicemail, not handle notification.
I'm hoping it is something as simple as their system that is reactivating the notification despite the fact the last one I received I deleted.
We'll see.
I had this issue along with the com.android.phone crashing issue and they just switched my phone out in the shop. It might be time for a replacement?

Time for a replacement! That's a bit harsh.
In all other manner the phone works absolutely perfectly.
I have the issue too, I don't have carrier vm set up (i use g voice) but I forgot to set up voice after doing a wipe and got a vm. It asks me for a password that doesn't exist and wont let me delete the notification.
I dont think a replacement is a solution.
This is a software problem and I think the problem has to do with the software
implementation of the voicemail implementation.
If I put my Fido sim card to my Nexus one or Motorola Atrix I dont get the voicemail notification.
Also just to reply to morg01 I do get text messages along with the voicemail notification at the status bard but I delete the text messages I receive.
The problem is how to remove the voicemail notification.
I have a feeling that the Baseband implementation is wrong.
I got the phone from Europe and I dont think it supports the special features from Fido.
Just to mention that I dont have Name Display as well.
I would have to wait for the Canadian version to appear and to flash the modem
but until I wait that I will be really happy to remove that stupid ugly notification
I've been using Google Voice for the last 6 months. It's not always perfect, but you can read a transcript of your mail. And it's free and reversable.

Finally I fixed the notification problem
My carrier (FIDO) has two voicemail systems. One is for Iphone with the visual voicemail and the second is the reset of phones.
I used to have the second. It seems Galaxy S II does not really work ok with the more standard. The CSR switched me over to the visual voicemail and now everything works ok.

Nice one.... That proves it's a carrier issue.
I'm hoping to get to the bottom of my problem tomorrow.
I recently gave up the AT&T 4G speed and switched to T-Mobile. I have no $ for a new phone yet.. so using my unlocked Atrix it is working still fine, but i can't get rid of the voice message icon on the notification bar. I checked my voice mail, there is no message. Everytime i finish checking my voice mail, the icon disappear for a second then appear again. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it a network incompatability issue or the OS issue? I'n using 2.3.3 Or something else? Any comment is appreciated
it isn't a network compatibility issue because I use the ATRIX on T-Mobile also

Hi guys!
So I got a brand new Verizon V10, It's unlocked, and I'm using it overseas with other carriers.
Every time I insert a local sim card (ie not vzn) I get this annoying notification about it (screenshot attached) - is there anyway to get rid of that?
One more question for you guys, I tried to look over the web, but I didn't see any possible way to wipe vzn version and flash a clean LG one to the device. So I guess there is no way to do it up to now. Am I wrong? Please tell me I am
Thanks!
That sim notification is always there with non verizon sims. You might be able to get rid of it with root. You can't flash other roms to a Verizon phone but you can root and uninstalled all the VZ crap
If you are rooted with Xposed, Notify Clean will allow you to get rid of just about any notification you want.

did you figure out how to remove the "sim not from verizon" notification permanently?
