I actually experienced both; and feel like 0.42 performs faster & more responsive than the 0.62. I wonder about other people's experiences & opinions... Which one would you prefer to use?

I think 62 is better and smooth than 42.
Sent from my ST18i using XDA
.62 giving me great battery backup, and i dont think 42 is faster than 62.
for me .62 is smoother and better than .42... but recently i reflash .562ICS (CEurope) and i'm very happy withit... benchmarks are better than GB (3192 antutu) and all the features works like a charm... i stay on ICS

Hi all,
Bought my mini pro as inexpensive replacement for an iPhone. So these are my first steps in the Android world. I especially chose sony as they mentioned the device was upgradeable to ICS.
I'm quite disappointed though with official ICS. So instead of hoping Sony will release a jelly bean version, I might as well try a custom rom.
So what are the pro's and cons of the cm9 build fxp130?
Which are the most obvious bugs, how about battery life etc?

Sincerely, i see no real HUGE bugs, i actuall didnt notice any bugs myself, and i really recommend it, take it for a spin
BTW, why dissapointed in the official 4.0.4 release, i think its good, but needs to be rooted with the methods posted in this forum, maybe that's why you didnt enjoy it (probably?)

I think the battery life is better than the stock ROM, just edit build.prop and add this lines:
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
and change
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=15
to
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=180
and you will have a great battery life.
And the ROM is, overall, a lot faster than the stock ROM, you will feel the (huge) diference, plus the CM9 goodies, everyone loves them
take care =)
You can also try for REAL ICS 4.1
Its nice one I am using I didn't noticed any bugs....

Does IT have the led notification bug, video lag etc as original stock?

I love FXP133-CM9, it works perfectly and fast. The only negative thing is the missing LED notification but I think it's a unique bug at me.

The major bug in cm9 is that no sensors work. for example accelerometer and proximity sensor doesnt work
XSX and SSpeed is now officially stoped
That leaves us with Adv Stock Kernel
Anyone willing to develop more kernel?

I'll be leaving the kernel temporarily, once I got everything back together in my personal life, I'll continue it.
We should keep in mind we are all people with other primary jobs and family, girlfriends, dogs or cats. Life is complicated as it is. Keep it simple.

Yeah i know
But i've never thought that sony xperia S a flagship that released 1 year ++
Has no custom kernel

well, we still have FreeXperia with us and my hope is CM10 from them...
I'm sure everyone is waiting for the kernel source code of ICS to get publish by Sony as its easier to built by that way.
Well i still have my HTC legend. I don't know android so much as building them but i know that the GB and the ICS kernel are worlds apart. and thanks to this forum i can see CM10 running on my Legend although its in the alpha stages but its there...
Trust the dev here my friend!

I know what you are feeling here, when I had my Arc S I had many choices either Custom Roms or custom kernels. when I got my Xperia P I'm left with nothing
I tried many times building my custom kernel but it never succeeded in booting
I guess I better stay in Windows Apps programming

Many developers have left these forums to get other phones.
Sony's Xperia line is just not that exciting to modify, it seems.

Exactly, for example the developer of ArcKnight kernel which is one of the best custom kernels for Xperia Arc & Xperia Arc S, replaced his Arc with a Galaxy S 3. which means no more ArcKnight kernel. and so did others.
The stock kernel from Sony is already very good, no need to tweak it much right? There are 2x OC kernels based on stock, a pre-rooted stock kernel, 2x CM 9.1 kernels and 1 CM10 kernel.

2 OC and 1 CM9 kernel development is stopped
That leaves us with a prerooted stock kernel and 1 CM 9 & 10 kernel
Not really have a choice
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
But they are stable no?
Ya stock kernels are good, the only reason that is pushing me on to making a custom kernel is I want the latest build of the stock kernel (which is on July 30) with CWM & auto root included. no tweaking is necessarily I think.

Hey mate,
Yes, the Xperia U is good in ICS Performance is not bad but most importantly, the features over GB are what makes the upgrade worth it Its a good phone and Developer Activity is good and if you want even faster speeds, Check out some of the custom roms available here

Although not as good as, its nearly the same though So if Performance is your major concern and features dont matter, stay with GB. Else update

Hi I want to know which is the best from for sola. Should be preferably bare bone and have a good battery life. I am currently on fxp 205 but the battery is not worth talking about. Rest minor things here and there are fine. I don't wanna revert to stock .110 or .154 coz even the basic functions like making a call or sending as SMS is a pain.

Looking for the best stable ROM for the Xperia Mini Pro. Good battery life would be great and kernel recommendations also
Thanks
This one is the best rom, nothing I saw so far beats it. No lag whatsoever.

lol, don't care about the fastest or the best
Wanted one that has no bugs and runs ICS smoothly?
Actually its the same standard procedure(directing to above link) asking for best fastest least bug runs smooth, battery, etc etc.
