im on the latest mean rom and when i press *2 it force closes??? anyone else having same problem on mean roM?? is there anyway to fix.. thanks
Why not post this in the mean rom thread ?? The dev gives great support for his rom. Also you will more than likely get better feed back from fellow members who are also using the rom as well.

Ohhh well hmm that's a bummer. Have you tried clearing the data on the dialer ??? However back up your contacts first. By pressing people in the dialer. Or open up contacts. Then press menu and export contacts to your sd. After you clear data on the dialer you might have to restore them. Try that and see if it helps any.

I think you need the Sprint Zone app loaded for that to work. Didn't someone post a leaked ICS Sprint zone in another thread?
Sent from my HTC Flyer using XDA Premium.
I know this might be a silly question, but did you wipe before flashing? The huge jump to ICS pretty much demands a full wipe/superwipe or you're gonna have a bad time.
If not, I have no idea what it could be. I'm on Meanrom and I'm not having the problem myself.

Hey All,
I would like to ask anyone who knows how I can properly use Titanium Backup I would really appreciate it. The problem i've had before is that when ever I backup I never seem to know how to properly back up my apps so I can also back up the data like my saved games on angry birds, and my tags on sound hound. If I back up and thn restore I always mess something up and my roms end up all screwed. please some one guide me!!!!
I usually only backup user apps. Press the options button on the bottom left of the vibrant. Then choose batch, then choose backup all user apps.

Like I said though, doing that only backs up the apps but it doesn't back up the data i.e. shazam tags, etc.

im interested in this too.
the pain of setting everything up again is actually the only thing keeping me from flashing a new rom. (flashed my mytouch so much that i only kept a few apps)
and can the free version do everything the paid version can do?

thanks alot. I'll look at it now. I hate flashing ROMS sometimes because I don't get my app data. It sucks having to start Angry Birds from leverl 1 every time I flash something!
I use mybackup pro n backup apps. ..gives option to backup apk + data. Has worked well for me. Don't have re -download apps or anything.
I know this doesn't necessarily answer the question but it gives a way to backup apps+data(bookmarks, texts, call log, settings, etc)

So after the ota update I started going through all of my aplications and clearing cache and while on the camera app I accidentally erased data like an idiot. "Doh!" Well after doing that I paniced and went to camera to see if all was well but unfortunately not. Everytime I enter it it shows for about 2seconds then shuts with no sign at all. No force close message or anything. And if I open it real fast, press menu button and keep it like that, the whole screen flickers blue until I press home twice. Now I have to click in camera, exit real fast, then enter again for it to work. And if I kill it in task manager ( in the quick settings tab) I have to repeat it again. So any ideas to make it work normal again, or has anyone had this done yet? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a rooted Evo LTE on the factory ROM and everything has been fine... until just now. I decided I wanted to recover my call log from my Evo 4G backup via Titanium Backup. Now, after a reboot, I get a popup that says:
"android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Would you like to send an error report to HTC? This will help us improve our products."
The problem is that when I click 'Don't Send' it goes away but then pops up again less than a second later. It literally will continue over and over again w/o any end in sight. My phone is bork and I don't know how to un-bork it at this point. Sometimes I wish life had an 'undo' option as I don't even really care that much about my call log. I was just trying to get fancy I guess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my phone is pretty much useless at the moment.
I was able to navigate back to 'contacts/calls' within Titanium Backup between popups and click freeze. It froze and I no longer get those popups but I now get"
'Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped'
In addition to this I assume that my phone, contacts or something also doesn't work now that I've frozen 'Call/Contacts' but now maybe at least I can delete and restore this file with a proper working one?? Anyone??
Did you accidentally restore the Contacts/Calls application instead of the list?
You could have just synced the contacts to your gmail account on the OG EVO and they would have synced automatically on the LTE.

Yes, this is what I did. It was even in GREEN text which Titanium Backup says is safe to restore and to avoid RED. How can I fix this?

It wasn't the contacts I was after. All of my contacts are sync'd to Google so with the new phone I had all my contacts after logging into Google. I was just trying to restore my call log from my previous phone when all this began.
That Titanium Backup item is data only. Go back to Titanium to that line item, unfreeze, then wipe data. You should be good to go. Then maybe reboot to make sure there are no more force closes.
Edit: Actually, I may be wrong. There could be an apk with that as well. What I said above is still worth a shot, though. If it doesn't work you will have to find a way to restore that apk. Are you running a custom ROM?

That's the weird part was I thought that I did just restore the data. I'm about 97% sure that's what I selected in fact. I figured it would leave the app as is and then restore the data and bam! I'd have my call log. That's not the case. Clearing data from Titanium Backup was going to be my next step but didn't want to bork things any further. If you're saying it's safe to do I will attempt that.

No, like I said in the OP I've rooted a stock Evo LTE and that's all. Nothing else has been done.
Reboot into recovery (vol up + vol down + power and as soon as the phone powers off, let go of vol up) and fix permissions.

Oops... you did say that in the OP. My bad. Yeah, wiping data should be perfectly safe with any app, user or system, so that seems like a good next step. Let us know how you make out.

Unfroze and immediately got popups again. Between them I was able to clear the data for it and they quit. No rebooting to see if everything is good to go once again.

Great news.
Good news. My advice would be to flash TWRP now though. Being rooted without having a custom recovery is mighty dangerous.

I agree and I need to. I need to unlock my bootloader first and I started the process but didn't have the files I needed at like step 8 or whatever it was. I guess I'll try harder to find what I need when I get some more time.
In case anyone is curious, the problem exists because you have a Facebook friend that has a birthday on February 29th. Either remove the Facebook friend or don't sync calendar data from Facebook. You will need to clear the data first and then re-sync contacts and live feed for it to work. Hope this helps. This is a bug that HTC needs to fix.

Holy blast from the past. The issue has long since been corrected.
So I texted someone that I'm not suppose to as per my GF. So I go into message and delete the log. But the number still shows when I dail a number. For example if I type in the keypad 60455 the whole number would show up 6045557777. I need to get rid any trace of the number. Thanks in advance
btw i posted this in the ATT S3 forum too but thought I might get more response here. So delete the other one if you have to mods. Cheers

Throw your phone away, for the sake of your GF.
Anyway, I guess since none of this is working you can just back up everything and wipe/re-flash.
Hi all. Does anybody know how to fix this issue? It's driving my girl crazy.
She gets a picture MMS, views it, and then hits the 'back' button to go back to her messages. But instead of going back to her messages, it opens the Gallery! WTF? LOL
She says it's been doing it since the most recent update, but I remember her talking about this months ago. So I think it may have been the first update.
Can anyone help with suggestions? She's on the Stock ROM.
Thanks!

Questions should go in the Q&A forum. I would think that somewhere along the way when your gf chose to open a pic in mms...The S4 asked her what app to use and if to use only once.. I suspect this now the default and I'm not sure how to reset the default.

Sorry about the wrong forum. I realized that a few minutes after I posted.
Ahh, good call. Maybe if I go to Manage Apps and clear data in either Gallery or Messages, it'll fix the problem. The question then is will she lose her texts or photos in doing that?
