Quick question,
I was wondering if I could stream my music from Google, and use my EQ setting from poweramp. I know it's kind of a Noob question, but My SD card is filling up and I want to listen to my music with good EQ settings.
And if it helps I am S-offed, I'm running CleanRom DE 1.3..
Bump.

WinAmp
Hope this helped
playerpro is probably the best music player i have ran into.
If you want to waste $5.08 on a music play then go ahead and buy PlayerPro. But if you want the same thing, that works just as well if not better, then get WinAmp.
Dont be a sucker and pay $5 for a stupid music player.
Songbird
it is free

No flac support, no eq, no folders, no tag editing....
DoubleTwist is great and has airsync(wifi). The lock screen takes over the whole screen and shows a large cover with good sized rev/play/fwd buttons at the bottom
Does PowerAmp play flac on the Atrix? I haven't been able to play any flac.
Winamp is terrible, for reasons already stated. I've never used Songbird so i cannot say anything about it. DoubleTwist was my primary a long time ago, but for some reason it could not read music files on the external sd so it had to go. It may have been because I had purchased it right when the phone came out so external sd support might not have been working yet. I do not know if they have updated it to work with it or not yet so you may want to ask someone around here if you plan on purchasing it.

Yes, PowerAmp does play FLACs on the Atrix. You can check it out for 14 days. I'm getting close to the end of my trial, and I have yet to find a decent alternative that supports FLAC. May end up shelling out some dough.
On topic, PowerAmp also has a lock screen widget.
I love how people are sooooo damn demanding when it comes to what music play to get. ITS A MUSIC PLAYER!!! not a new phone!

Well we buy nice phones for cool features and a lot of us buy nice apps for nice features too. Winamp isn't bad it's just playerpro is better, in my experience at least.

For many people it is probably the most used function of the phone as well.
MixZing also has a lockscreen widget.
PowerAMP
Don't bother with anything else, nothing compares. Well worth the 5 bucks.

That might be closer to what you're looking for. I use it, works great.
So what is your favorite app for music playing? and why? key word APP so no flashing or anything hard. Just like from the market. and I know this has been asked a few times but I would like to know what you use. Like what you like about it. Simplicity? Features? etc. thanks in advance.
ALSO, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. It is regarding apps but I wasn't sure if it should go in Q&A cause those questions seemed a lot more general.
TTPOD. and UberMusic. Poweramp is cool sometimes.

UberMusic for local, Google Music for streaming.
viva la MIUI
Poweramp is the best..
eq makes a huge difference.
PlayerPro - tried some apps, but PlayerPro has all I was looking for: A nice interface, lockscreen controls, can play videos and runs very stable.
Player pro is the best! Ubermusic is nice too but very simple interface for me..
I use poweramp.
Ubermusic
I love the UI although some said it's a mock-up of wp's music player.
Google Music 4.0.1 currently. Although I search for another one.
Playerpro with the free DSP Pack
Zplayer is good

Just tried this and it is pretty awesome.
Nice and loud.
I can honestly say after trying various headsets, IEMs with all the music apps available, the best match of music player, phone and headsets are all different. Since poweramp, Zplayer etc all make a slight difference to the sound quality, you should try all to find which is the music player with your favourite signature sound.
If you like to EQ, try equalizer or Volume + in the mixture as well
Lookwise, I personally like Zplayer.
ease of use, probably playerpro for most but poweramp for me cuz I really like the way it divides the folders.
Google music + beta, that's where I store my music. I mean after all placing 6000 mp3's on my sd card would just be crazy.

Music app
I use gtunes...its cool, its free, music is free...the downside is that not all mucic you search for using gtunes will be available.but for free music is great. There is a new version of it on the market called music downloader if my memory serves me right.the correct gtunes app is difficult to find now days.
My favorite is definitely Google Music 4.0
The new UI is leaps and bounds better than 3, despite not changing a whole lot... it just feels cleaner. And the addition of being able to stream and cache makes it the most feature filled imo. If you're an EQ guy (I typically want flat, because hey thats the way the producers intend for it to be heard) their is an inapp option that takes you to your EQ of choice from the market, and it feels very fluid, almost as if it were part of the app itself. Google has come a long way in the music department in the year I've had my phone.
I'm using Fede's Music App (wp7'ish)
PlayerPro looks like really cool!

where do most people store their music on the rezound? I am trying to see the best and efficient way to store music. Do you use the sim card or sd card.

There's no SIM storage on the Rezound. You might be thinking that the internal SD(phone storage) is SIM storage, but i digress.. For the most part you're better off using the internal SD. More apps recognize music there. However since I started using Google Music, I don't store music on my phone anymore. Everything is streamed from my Google Music account/Pandora/Tune-in.

+ 1 - me too. But I've used more than a gig of data three days into my cycle.

I use my SD card that I reorganize about once a month by rounding up songs I pick up here and there and getting them into one folder. It's so much easier to backup, move to another phone, and locate.

Probably never. I use DSP Manager, and I know a lot of people use Volume+ to get the same if not better effects. I like it because the beats DSP isn't customizable and being that it's stuck in the stock player, I never use it anyway. I did notice one weird/cool thing. If you play a song with beats in the stock player and immediately switch to google music or any other audio, of about 15 seconds the beats DSP is still active meaning that beats should be able to run full time, rather than only in stock music.
Beats Audio
Hopefully they will eventually work with some of the major apps like Pandora or Rhapsody. The built-in music player with the iBeats headphones, sound pretty damn incredible.
I've tried seeing if there is any sort of a quality difference between running music from external SD, or internal. I've noticed none in the stock music app, but my card is a sandisk class 4, for what it's worth. Like a previous poster said, some apps need music on internal to function, though. But those are becoming far and few between nowadays. There's always the supposed argument that putting a bunch of stuff on internal storage will slow down your phone though, too.

Are talking only about music apps for playing the music such as PowerAmp? Or is there something else I should know about apps needing to access my music? I have mine on the external and no problems that I know of. Been using both the HTC music app and PowerAmp.
Where/how do you use Beats? I have music on the Rezound but the Music play can't find it.

You have to use the stock music app. Have you seen the red outlined "b" pop up in the status bar? If so, Beats is on. You can disable it in the dropdown status bar.
Without modding, Beats sound enhancer is only available in the stock HTC music app and the stock video player. Hit Menu soft key > Sound enhancer for music player, or More > Sound enhancer while playing a video. The music player will also put a toggle in your notifications bar.
Beats effects only work with the line out headphone jack, not the loudspeaker out.

If you drop the music anywhere on the internal storage or SD card, it should be picked up by the music player. What format is you music in?
I tried .MP3 and "downloaded" music from GMusic. Is there a way to link "My library" to a specific folder?
i personally use double twist for this reason because it finds all the music that is in my itunes library and syncs it to my device.

Google Music stores offline mp3 files in /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music. The files are named as integers without tags, so you are best off making copies, renaming and tagging (if you wish), and putting them on the external sd or another internal folder, e.g. /sdcard/My Music.
There is no way to scan specific folders in the stock HTC Music UI AFAIK. Easiest way to get it to detect files that don't show in the player's library is to make sure they are in a folder in /sdcard/ or the external sd, and reboot; should rescan for files and pick them up them. Perhaps someone else knows how to tweak the library, with an app or editing a file?
Frankly, I have broken my stock player at the moment from flashing ROMs and not wiping properly (ran out of Charmin Ultra lol ) Else I'd troubleshoot the problem more.
Either way, I find the HTC Music app lacking compared to PowerAmp (scans everything lightning fast), doubletwist (good for iTunes integration) and other offerings on the Play Store. I have simply done the Beats Audio mod to all sound output: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587168 Then use whichever music player I want.
thanks Phantasm, how do you install the beats audio? Does the phone have to be rooted first?

Yes, you must be rooted and flash a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod or Amon Ra (most people would probably recommend Amon Ra for this particular device.) Then you flash the Beats audio zip file from your custom recovery.
Bear in mind that if you don't like the sound signature for whatever reason, you must reflash the ROM to restore the original sound processing.

Yes, but the Beats Audio sound effect is only in the stock music and video apps, not any others. This mod works on all audio output, e.g. streaming music. That is what I like about Sense 4.0: universal Beats sound effect. Wonder if 3.6 gets it.
Now, to bring this full circle, if you want to stay stock and not go through Unlocking and rooting, I wouldn't do all that for this Mod alone. Only if you intend on rooting and customizing your phone anyway. I'm sure plenty of people will suggest DSPManager or Volume+ or the EQ in PowerAmp, etc. Those options are great, customizable, and don't need root. I use all of those with and without the Mod on ROMs; it provides a better baseline sound IMHO.
