Hi there.
I've just got a Motorola RAZR XT910 EU GSM
I've been told to upgrade my Android to ICS, but as I've read and read and read no of the ROM's support Camera and HW acceleration. Am I right or do I miss something?
The ChinaRetail leak of 4.0.4 has everything working including cam and HW acc. Only issue (that I know of) is USB mounting.
Thanks for your answer Golgo.
I've now been looking in the dev forums, and can't find any ICS ROMs based on a Chineese leak. Can you please be more specific?
thanks

Look for the .75 ICS leak. I think that's what he is referring to.
Make sure it's .75 and not .84 or .85. If you flash to .84 or .85, you're stuck there for the time being. The developers have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to flash back to stock or any other ROM. This is not a problem with .75, though.
@TexPP: he has a Razr GSM version, while rom you listed are CDMA, I guess. Am I wrong?
The Chinese ICS release is the only complete flashable GSM rom, even though with signature mismatch for different region, through a particular procedure.
You can find it, if you want, here in Razr General threads.

The answer is no. Not on this forum sadly. Not sure what happened here before I arrived but CDMA Verizon Razr/Maxx development is non-existent.
There is an ICS leak modifier here - http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/1714-rom-axi0m-cmplx-ics-leak-modifier-by-droidth3ory/
The following may sound very noobish:
My friend wants me to update his razr xt910 but I have no idea where to start. I am a Sammy guy and I know fairly well about andriod, rooting and cooking custom roms. Motorola seems to be much different to me. I read the forums dry but I am still pretty confused, here are the points i need clearing up:
- What is the different between a latam xt910 and a european xt910?
- Can I flash the latam ICS on the the european xt910 (basically, does region matter)?
- Why is it so damn confusing?
mods please delete this, I figured out what to do
Guys, I'm currently with a GSM RAZR XT910 with a ROM that has Deodex based version: ICS 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU.
What are the steps so I can get out of this version and the official version of JB?
I was quite lost with the various threads and patches for GSM version. I would be grateful if you could give me a hand.

Why not hang in for a short while to see what happens with this. If someone catches the zip, it may be a lot easier.
Alright, I did a quick search and nothing popped up and I'm looking for the latest information anyway. Also I'm a complete beginner here
Alright, I installed a new stereo into my car and everything works great. Except that when I'm streaming the stock google music app the tags do not show up on the display. According to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560609&page=22 this is a common problem with the receiver and it appears that most/all stock ROMs will not display tags. So according to that thread I need a custom ROM specifically one that runs 4.1. I guess 4.2 does not show tags on any ROM.
So my question for you is. What is the best 4.1 ROM to use? What is the most stable that has all of the features of my stock OS?
Also what tutorials do you guys suggest. I was planning on using the ones found here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155576. What does GSM mean btw?
Sorry for being so clueless on this. Thanks for the help guys!
Well im kind of nooby to, but i can tell you what gsm means. It means a sim card based phone or network (gsm phone, gsm network, etc.). Such as T-Mobile or ATT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_identity_module
The opposite of GSM is CDMA (CDMA based network, CDMA based phone), you don't need a sim card for your phone, I guess your phone comes programmed to whatever carrier. Major networks are Verizon and Sprint.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_division_multiple_access
GSM phones are easier to switch carriers with, just unlock your phone and pop in what ever sim card from any carrier you want (although you may face limited functionality, such as only 2g).
If your razr has any Verizon branding (Verizon logo) its the CDMA xt912, or you can tell its CDMA if on the back of the phone it says xt912, and by going into "Settings"> "About Phone" (scroll down)> "Model Number". The GSM variant has no Verizon branding and has an xt910 on the back, and by going into "Settings"> "About Phone" (scroll down)> "Model Number". So when people say xt910 its GSM and xt912 its CDMA. Do not install roms for the other phone (if you have GSM do not install a CDMA rom, vice versa, unless you use patches such as this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805380, make sure the rom you want is supported).
The rom i use is CM10.1 (cyanmod 10.1) its really stable accept for me, camera doesn't work (I usually carry my "un-hacked", other phone with me so it doesn't matter) Its based of of 4.2.2 here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028020

Thanks so much for the response. I was worried for a second. Well I found out earlier today what the difference between CDMA and GSM. Mine is the xt912. Thanks again for clearing that up for me.
As for the ROM I believe that the 10.1 is based off of 4.2 where as 10 is based off of 4.1. I'm looking for a 4.1 ROM that has all the features including the camera and everything I'd expect from my phone. I don't mind it being old or anything. I'd actually prefer it. Can anyone help with that? Suggest a ROM to use? I've been looking around all day today and didn't find anything that looked that great. I wouldn't mind CM9 if it was more stable. Just looking for one that isn't based off of 4.2.
Thanks again for the response though! It was very helpful.

Yup, no problem.
These roms are all CDMA xt912 roms, these require JB kernel (pretty much JB as your phone's stock rom) If you do not have JB official as your stock here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083129
(If you don't have already) Your going to need Safestrap recovery 3.11 before you can install roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391900
Make sure you uninstall any recovery you have installed (such as Bootstrap, and any other Safestrap version) before you install Safestrap 3.11.
Here are some stable roms (with everything working):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133763
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2109581
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128635
BTW I would suggest just sticking to the stock JB rom
I couldn't find any completely stable roms based of the ICS kernel (petty much ICS as your stock rom). If you need help with any thing or run into any problems (I've ran into allot and I've learned how to fix) just message me or post right here. BTW your going to lose root after you update to JB kernel unless you follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083129

I suggest to stick with a 2.3.5 ROM or go with CM 7, which is 2.3.7. Gingerbread is the most stable and everything for the most part works. ICS and JB are not really worth it due to not having the Motorola Graphics Drivers for ICS or JB. Too many issues to make it really a daily driver unless you like bugs and lots of force close issues due to the driver issue. Maybe someday but I doubt it since we really have no developers left, the Motorola Atrix driver that was created from scratch, will get ported to the Photon. Then and only then will ICS or JB be worth the flash. The ROM in my signature, 2.3.5, is one of the best in my opinion and one of the most stable, everything works. I have given ICS and JB ROMs a try but keep going back to GB as they are more stable. Even CyanMobile is a good GB ROM, the most options of any rom for a 2.3.5 ROM. The only issue I had with it was the "Sleep Screen of Death" and it would never wake-up. I then had to wipe the cache and dalvik cache to get it to boot again. That would happen a few times a day but then again I am non a Motorola Electrify and it was build for a Photon. Good luck in your choice but don't expect much support as development is pretty much gone and it does not seem there are even many users left.
I plan to get a new phone in the near future and will be not hanging around this section much, sadly I believe I will get the Moto X and its new and there will be a lot of development going on for a new popular phone.

Sorry but the fact that you have the Android 2.3.5 version means that your bootloader is locked forever. You can only unlock your bootloader if you have Android 2.3.4. What Sprint did with the Android 2.3.5 update is lock your bootloader plus they added some small features for the camera. Of course in the release notes, Sprint won't highlight the fact that locking the bootloader was part of the Android 2.3.5 upgrade.
You just have to go find a phone that has Android 2.3.4 still installed and immediately unlock your bootloader.
an other Q is that any idea to enhance the camera pictures quality (i.e is too bad----)
Beanstalk 4.2.2 is almost completely stable as long as you freeze contact storage... And bluetooth is broken... But it's smooth
