Hi,
I found my X10i is always restart itself everytime it connected to 3G network (can use only 2G/EDGE), I'm try to look for similar threads in this forum and other forum but not found the solution,
Can anyone here help me pls
Thanks in advance.
Need more info. Are you on stock ROM or custom? are you using a custom kernel? how exactly does it happen? is it when it switches from wifi to 3g or just when 3g engages? what exactly is the circumstance that causes it? this kind of info is necessary to help diagnose your problem.

I use Stock Rom
- FW#2.1.1.A.0.6
- Baseband 2.1.58
- Kernel Version 2.6.29
The problem occur when I swith from 2G (EDGE/GPRS) to 3G (900Hz). It's can run for awile then if I or some program connet to 3G the machine will not respond anymore then it restart itself. Now I can use only 2G
My X10i didn't have any accident like fallen, Normally use only.
You might just want to install a custom ROM or try a reflash. I don't know what would cause your phone to reboot just from connecting to 3g like that. I haven't heard of this happening before but I will say that using custom ROMs is easier than you'd think and you can always flash back if you need the warranty. Its impossible to brick the X10 under most circumstances so don't be intimidated. The custom ROMs are real stable now and have nearly full functionality and features and are fully supported. If you decide to go custom you'll be blown away with the improvement and will wonder why you didnt do it sooner. I flashed my 60yo dad's X10 to Wolfbreaks ROM and all he keeps saying is "this is so much better" and he couldn't care a whole lot less about his phone

My phone still reboot loop....
Still waiting solution...
Tks u so much !
I suggest u to using fw 2.1 bb67 global generic, coz this problem happening to me too. Its work for me. Now im using 2.1 bb 67 on stock ROM.
After flash fw 2.1 bb 67, install no-frill and set cpu max to 768mhz to keep your cpu and battery not to hot.
But your device maybe still got random reboot if your cpu work to hard, like playing game.
Please remember, keep your cpu to not work hard and battery not become heat.
Edit:
Custom rom/kernel dosent help for me. Unlock/lock bootloader still dosent solve my problem, just downgrade and kept cpu+battery not too hot.
Its looks hapening because some parts, maybe cpu or signal chip getting weaks.

If you don't wanna simple phone, please buy a new one or use a new battery so your pohone can work normaly. I was solved this problem with a new battery.
Edit : FW 2.1.B bb67 can solved (temporary) on 3g/hsdpa random reboot issue. But the main problem is from battery temp that can trigger network random reboot. Thats my analysis on my phone case.
Perhaps this help you. Hit thanks...

finally i found the main proublem of my x10 randoom reboots, its came from hardaware failure (mainboard).

Hi guys
Im not new to custom roms cwm ect.
However i am new to xperia
I have flashed a friends phone with a custom rom i have rooted the phone unlocked bootloader and am using doomkernel
This was all in aid off fixing a boot loop problem
his phone was still running android 1.6 i updated it initially to the latest official version using pc companion
This is when the problems started the phone just reboots itself repeatedly as soon as os has loaded and the lockscreen has appeared phone just reboots and repeats
i have then installed custom roms kernels ect. all with the same outcome i cant find a real solution to this other than disassembling the phone and baking the motherboard in the oven ?
Seems like a strange method but then i said that when people were using towels to fix xbox's
The towel method for the Xbox was a bandaid, not a fix. And a poor one at that.
Try using the stock kernel.
from the research i have done this appears to be a motherboard overheating problem yet i don't feel and heat coming from the device
Ive tried stock rom stock kernel
custom rom custom kernel
bootloader locked/unlocked
miui/stock/cm
if i leave battery out for 10-15 mins the phone will stay on longer
but once it reboots first time it will stay on for 5 mins then reboot stay on for 3 mins than reboot again ect. till it just turns on and off every 20 seconds
I know why it reboots constantly ...
Because you posted in wrong section

im going to format mem card and try see if it works seems to be when battery level gets say 35% or lower it seems to happen ? weird
But as soon as i do any processor intensive usage it will reboot soon after

This has been driving me absolutely crazy ive ordered a new battery off ebay £2.50
I will be over the moon if this fixes the problem but at the same time pissed off that it was so simple after 50+ rom/kernel flashes lol
Just seems strange that it only happened when updated the rom officially from 1.6
To be fair the phone had been lying dormant for several m, months beforehand
I APPRECIATE ALL THE TIPS AND ADVICE GUYS I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON OUTCOME
I had the same problem and I sent it for warranty and they changed the board.
Good luck.
ok guys got the new battery absolutely no difference at all still rebooting looks like its bin for this one as its out of warranty and will cost more to get repaired that it would to just get a new phone
Hi,
I've been having this problem on my Xperia ray since I bought it. The phones runs smooth and with no problems. However, once I get into an area with a weak signal or once I place the phone on flight mode, it goes into an endless reboot cycle until I turn off flight mode or get a strong signal.
I initially thought that this would be a rom problem, but I've experienced it on CM7 and Stock. I thought it might be an issue with 4.0.2.A.0.42, but even downgrading to 4.0.1.A.0.283 wouldn't solve it.
I'm attaching the last_kmsg from the last reboot hoping someone could help.
Thanks in advance,

Go to settings - wireless and network - mobile network - network mode and choose WCDMA(pref)/GSM to solve your problem
And yes get latest firmware for your Ray it would be "4.0.2.A.0.58"
This will also help to solve your problem
If you are using custom kernel then get Krsh Kernal for Ray
And don't use any battery saver software like Juice defender they play with networks...
Enjoy !
Hit thanks button if it works ....
Thanks for the reply,
I've been using "GSM Only" to avoid network switching. Shall I still change to CDMA preferred?
I also had the reboots when I tested the radio from the .58 firmware, but I'll try to flash the the full firmware tonight.
I can't seem to find krsh kernal for Ray, seems to be available to every other Xperia other than the Ray, do you have the link?

I don't have link for now but if Ray has got KrSH kernal then i will send you link soon ...
And GSM network uses 2G signals ... keep it WCDMA (pref)/GSM so that you can get 2G and 3G signals both...
And .58 firmware is stable .. go for full flash to solve problem
.58 is not really meant for Xperia ray but it will probably work just fine. It's meant for Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro and Live with Walkman.
Try using the phone with a different SIM card just to see if this makes any difference. Since it seems to be network related it might work. The newer card, the better.
If you're not possible to get hold of another SIM card, try to disable the PIN lock and see if there's any improvement.
We're currently rolling out a new software (.6x). This one will improve the memory management which should avoid reboots. Might be what you need. Check if you can get it (we just started the roll out so all cannot get it just yet).

@neroyoung I've been running the .58 firmware for the past two days with WCDMA (Auto). Didn't solve the rebooting problem. Did not try to chance the kernel yet, but doomlord's kernel didn't solve it in the past.
@Markus Thanks, I'll be travelling tomorrow so I'll be getting a new sim. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll also try the .6x firmware when it's out.

Stock firmware is not the problem,
ok the last thing i could tell you is try to find out background processes and uninstall those software that are not important and runs in background
for that go to
Settings-Application-Management-running and see background unwanted non system processes
Also try scanning and cleaning SD card or replace it with new one or format it and try it fresh, make backup before you format sd card
If this doesn't solve your problem then show your Ray to nearest service center....
Dear slimfady wat u can try now is that SE has released a new firmware For Ray try to update it to new firmware and see if problem goes or not.
Good Luck..

After 5 days with the new firmware, I can say that the problem has been resolved. I haven't got any reboot yet. Only downside is that the new firmware can't be rooted yet.
I would like to know whether the fix was in the new radio or the new kernel. I'll try different combos after running with the .62 firmware for a while
Reboot new firmware
Hey, I'm on O2 and I have the same problem!
I've read that uninstalling McAffee may help, so thats what I've done today. I've also switched back to GSM (G2) this helps enormously with battery life (I can can 7 days without charge), no reboots yet since I've done this.
I've had the same reboot problem on the previous firmware build and the latest.
The other thing that I and others have noticed is the problem also seems to happen when the signal drops out or is very weak. SE need to get to the bottom of this before they bring out ICS for the RAY.
P.S. just checked phone, rebooted while in pocket, I don't know how much business I,m losing cos of this, I'll have to take the SIM card lock off...... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
The newest firmware solves the rebooting problem. Just update your phone and you are fine.

Hey Devs and users,
Been facing a problem lately, my ray is running on stock 4.0.3 rooted and modded with they system ui mod with the quick panel settings with hansip87's mod and also a few things i did was install the modded gpu driver and also installed and again uninstalled the megabass feature
Anyway I have the habit of switching off my phone and charging it through the wall and i've noticed it doesn't charge like that anymore, it keeps going in and out of the "sony" bootloop, is there any fix for this?
Would really appreciate if someone can fix this, want to be able to switchoff the phone and charge it
EDIT: had it for almost a year, just rooted last week i guess before it was stock and running good

hi, sadly speaking that i have the exact problem, this problem emerged only after i install recovery (CWM) by nAa via the SE Tweak Installer v1.8. i do made a nandroid backup, would it be solved if i restore it? yet, if i repair it, back to stock rom, i still need to root and install CWM to restore data, will this problem still persist? i had read the SE forum from the link given above but i still can't figure out the exact method to handle it.
actually it doesnt cause much problem only im worrying that one day i have to charge after switch off since the battery might drained out ...

Hi all, first sorry for my bad english.
I have two problems with my Sony U that occur contemporaneously. Suddenly and without any clues, I get "no service" on phone. When this happens, also I cannot turn on or off the wi-fi. Wi-fi options in settings panel stays grey and if I click on it, I get "serching wifi networks". In this conditions also I cannot turn on or off on "Airplane mode": I only can click it and have to reboot the phone to get really on airplane mode. If I again disable airplane, always get no service and no wi-fi. I tried to remove the sim, but I cannot enable wifi anyway. When I bought this phone I have unlocked the bootloader and have installed stock 6.1.1.b.1.54 Vodafone italian stock rom with rooted 6.1.1.c.1.0 kerneland got this problem after two weeks. Then flashed NoSh1t! 6.1.1.C.1.0 rom got on the forum, 10 days and problems occured again.
Please help me, I'm stuck and really frustrated
Thank you for your patience on reading me :good:
