Replacement phone s-off'ed perfectly
I had a hardware failure on a rezound. VZW agreed to an in warranty replacement.
I followed all the steps and everything worked, (I did have to play
with the wire trick but that is kind of expected).
After the CLN phone was working I ran an RUU zip to restore the old phone
then turned on s-on with the command and returned the bad phone,
I noticed the controlbear program reported itself as 0,8 but the zip
file was 0,5?
Anyway every thing is good .
After restoring the internal sdcard,
restoring contacts from the export,
(and recreating my contact group),
restoring the iCalendar backup
from Calendar Sync
and running TiBu restore of the user apks
it all just worked,

new rezound, how do i get my data from my old phone

I bought a rezound the other day, i would like to know if there is a way to get my data off fom my incredible and onto my new phone. Stuff like game progress, etc. I have already put my micro sd card in my new phone. It had pics and music ringtones. My incredible was rooted but i dont want to root my rezound yet.
Gotta get Titanium Backup and transfer the files from the old one to the new one. Gotta be rooted though.

That's kind of what i figured
You could try temp rooting it and running titanium backup, if it stays temp rooted long enough.

the newer temp rooting methods seem to hold until a reboot so it is possible. I backed up everything on my rezound using temp root before unlocking.

Need to know

Hi, im haveing my EVO View repaired by HTC and i need to know how to un-revolutionary, because i dont have usb connectivity (The charging port is not working)
Could somone help me? I need to get back to S-ON
Just hope they don't charge. I asked the same thing before I shipped it out. Luckily they just emailed me today saying it's fixed and said they are going to ship back. How did you damage the port?
I mistakenly tried to put the wrong side of the charger plug in.
Very sensitive the port is

Good luck I really hope it all works out or if someone can help.

That won't over write the hboot. You need to be able to push the hboot with adb from recovery. Really not sure if there is a way to do it without a USB connection. Maybe in a terminal emulatorwhile booted although I am not sure if trying to push an hboot while fully booted

So, does anyone know if they can even tell? at this point the device wont power on, but they would have to repair it and charge it up to even know its rooted, right?

Correct. And the only way to do this would be to somehow dd a stock HBOOT (I could provide one) over the revolutionary one, and reflash the stock ROM. It would go like this, but since your device isn't powered it's kinda useless:
1. Install the stock RUU on your device (extract the rom.zip from it, google extract rom.zip extract RUU) rename the rom.zip PG41IMG and place on sdcard >>> reboot into hboot.
2. After 2 complete passes, reboot into the system with the hboot of the RUU on the sd. DD it using Terminal Emulator (a command like this, don't actually run it: dd if=/hboot.nb0 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18)
3. Reboot into fast boot to confirm the stock restore.
4. ???
5. Profit
Now obviously the device will require power here and when I used this method I had to stop midway to charge, so even 40% battery isn't an option.
EDIT: If you can get some battery, just do HTC Unlock. Although it's a warranty void, I think HTC would provide support rather to the guy who used their tools instead of a third party one.
My 2 cents, but their 1950 special edition ones so don't lose em!
Oh yeah I just realized you could take your sdcard out and put it into the computer to put files on it, if you can even get it charged though :/

Okay. So your saying that since it can't boot I'm fine, the would HAVE to fix it because it disent have enough charge?
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
I had the same problem back in December. My advice is to turn off your device and conserve as much battery power as you can until you figure out what to do, because once you run out, you're stuck. Unfortunately for me, I found out my port was broken when I plugged it in when I ran out of batteries. I sent it to HTC though, and within a couple weeks I had it back, with HC on it. If you do send it in, make sure to back everything up because they flashed mine.

Well if HTC fixes the port and charges it up and finds revolutionary, I doubt they would refuse to send it back. They've fixed it already.
there have been a couple of people who managed to charge their flyer by taking off the back plate and charging the battery directly. This would only fix a portion of your problem. In the end if you do not have usb connectivity I am not sure you can replace the Hboot. If the port is broken it really has nothing to do with being S Off. I can not see why it would impact the repairs, although I think you stand a decent chance of recieving an invoice.

Need help with bricked evo (rooted,S-on)

hi guys, yesterday in the morning i noticed my evo wasnt responding. I had used it for a phone call earlier and now there is nothing.
When i plug it in nothing happens, no led charging light. I have tried holding the power button in for 30 seconds and also with the volume down.
I am not that familar with abd(i believe that is what it is called) or even if that would help. Any suggest would be greatly appreciated.
edit
I forgot to mention i am not s-off but i am rooted
Search this forum for the latest RUU for Jewel, which includes the recent OTA update and will keep you r00ted, if you use xHausx's deodexed ROM. Be careful to have enough battery before attempting. I'm hoping you used Titanium Backup or executed a nandroid? HTH!

Don't think the ruu will do a whole lot of good if the phone isn't responding at all.
Edit: I know I've seen several other threads with people experiencing the same thing. As far I I remember, none of them were resolved and ended up getting a new phone. Do you have TEP?

ya im downloading ruu atm, thanks and ya it worries me because it isnt responding at all. and yes i have done a titanium backup and nandroid backup.

If it won't turn on its dead, welcome to the club. I hate to say it. Was it just on a charger when you noticed it? If it was were you using the charger that came with the phone? That is happening to a lot of these phones. I get my new one tomorrow.

AFAIK, you need to be in either android or fastboot for the ruu to work but definitely worth a shot..

Yes you can. I returned mine Sat to a sprint store. There are a bunch of threads on this, yet HTC says there is no problem. I read where several returned them to bb with no problems.

Restore nandroid backup to new phone?

I currently own a DNA, and I just received another brand new in the box. I would like to keep the new one and give my old one to my wife. Can I take a nandroid of my current DNA and then restore it on to the new DNA? Thanks!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
You should be able to, but I'll defer to more knowledgeable members. I know I've used a backup on other phones of the same model. To be safe you can use titanium backup and restore apps to the new phone and not the rom.

If your motherboards are the same, everything will be fine. If they are different, there might be some odd bugs. To see what motherboard you have, go to about phone, phone info and look at the "serial number" most HTC devices the first 4 numbers are the motherboard identifier.
In short, yes you can, just do not report bugs if any arise.
Sent from my DNA using my mind.
My current phone's serial number starts with FA2B, while the new phone starts with FA3B. Is that going to cause me grief? I've spent so much time getting my phone "perfect" that I was hoping to avoid doing all the setup again. I guess I could use TiBu to do it, but it seems like a nandroid would be much quicker!
Take a nandroid of the new phone before trying the one from the old phone. If there are issues you can then go back to the original nandroid

TiBu and flash new. Save yourself any possible issues

Just figured I'd come back and let everyone know it worked like a charm. I did a quick nandroid backup with TWRP on the new phone to create the correct folder structure, then copied the nandroid from my old phone into the appropriate folder. Restored it, and it fired right up and worked with no issues.

Random random reboots.

So I bought this phone used and it would randomly reboot and so I installed 4.4.2. But that didn't solve it so I ran the Viper RUU and then flashed it back to 4.4.2 and that still doesn't solve . Two curious things: when I bought it it came with a locked bootloader but s off and when it boots up it says for development use only. And now it won't boot at all I might be able to get it to boot temporarily though if I'm lucky. Any ideas?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
Sounds like the previous owner may have had issues, ran a RUU & got rid of it. Running a RUU would put the bootloader back to being locked, even with it being S-off. It's hard to say what the issue could be, honestly. The red development disclaimer you're referring to when the phone boots up is normal on a rooted device. I'm almost wondering if the battery could be at fault, particularly since you say you can't get the phone to boot at all now. Will the phone charge at all?
Sent from my EVO LTE
I had a similar problem using the 4.4 roms. So since then I have just been using the older roms waiting until the new ones get the issues ironed out.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
It was giving me trouble on pure stock too so I don't think that's the problem it could be the battery though how difficult is it to replace that?

Phone will now charge and boot but it is still really fussy with reboots and getting it to boot.
