Text to speech voices - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know how I can get the UK female voice back for text to speech I had before my android 4.0.3 ICS update last night ? It's a dreary voice but one I got used to. I'm pretty sure it's the same voice that I'm still getting in Google satnav. If I could get the satnav voice into text to speech it would be great.
In language and input under text to speech output, I can choose either Google text to speech or Samsung TTS to read out my text. Google has one american female who sounds more phillipino and one english male whose voice sounds shaky. And in Samsung TTS, there's just one english voice, another female who sounds phillipino. Is that all the options I have for text to speech voices, have they taken away the voice I used to have? I use it to read out my appointments in my Calendar Snooze app. I read about Ivona text to speech on android market to add more voices but it says it's incompatible with my device so I didn't download it.

video voice mail

Has any one seen a video voice mail application for the HTC?
Well what I am looking for is the ability to look at my voice mail and only listen to selected messages I know the Iphone and BB storm has that option.

DRROIIDDD

The robotic voice that says "Droid" for the ringer...
Is there a TTS generator in this voice? I'd like to add a custom saying in that voice to my devices.
Is there a voice download for it for the build in Microsoft Sam program?
I have a program that automatically makes TTS phrases into mp3 files, I just need to add the voice file.

Android Voice Actions not hearing voice

I seem to be having a problem with voice actions.
When I use an app, let's say Google Voice Search, the mic comes up to accept speech but almost immediately it says "no speech heard".
I have to start it again and start speaking quickly so it won't time out.
Vlingo works fine and gives me plenty of time.
What could be affecting this?
Thanks

[Q] Does anyone know of a hack to get google's voice dictation in Swype?

Swype incorporates dragon dictation which *may* at one time have been better than Google's own voice dictation features, but not today!
As most of us now running the ICS variants on the Amaze know, Google's built-in voice dictation is incredible. I know when using Swype you can pull down the notification tray and select "Google Voice Typing", but it's not as convenient as pressing the mic button on the swype keyboard.
Anyway know of a hack to have Swype's built-in mic button launch Google Voice Typing instead of Swype's own dragon dictation?
Massiv.
Swype with Google voice typing
I agree, need to swap out Dragon for Google's voice dictation within the Swype app. Swype is great + Google voice dictation = great droid typing

Google map: voice navigation - Language and output

Hi, I have two questions about google map when in navigation mode:
1. My phone is set to English but i live in Italy. TTS and keyboard is seto to italian, still directions are given in English: this wouldn't be a problem is street names were not pronounced in a terrible way. It seems that Google map uses the phone's global language setting instead of the TTS one. Is there a way to force in maps a difefrent spoken language than the phone's one?
2. When in car, the phone is paired with my BT system (mercedes SLK my2014), but when I am listening to the radio the navigation voice is silent, as I guess it tries to play it via BT. is tehre a way to force voice through the main loudspeaker?
thanks
