Amazon App store no longer updating apps? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy Nexus (not rooted), and just recently, I've ran into an issue with updating apps through Amazon's App Store. It's strange, because up to now, I never had this issue with their app store. Anyway, whenever I try to update any of my apps that need updates, the installs fail. The apps don't update, and they're still listed in the "Update" section of the store. I've tried over and over to install them, and they always say the install failed.
Someone suggested going into the settings and clearing the cache/ data for the Amazon App Store app, and I gave this a try, but the problem still occurs. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know of a fix?

Not sure if this is the same thing you're seeing, but it's worth a shot.
When the appstore tries to download an app and fails partway through, it just leaves the partial file in a temp directory. I think it's in /data. I wish I remember what directory exactly. I only found it by accident when I noticed that my phone was 100% full after trying to install a large app a few times.
So look for some really large temp files that don't belong and try erasing them

"galaxy security update" Samsung app

Hi,
While looking through Samsung Apps i found a free tool from Samsung called "galaxy security update". I dont find any mention of the tool on XDA, it seems to be an anti malware app of some sorts, but i'm concerned about its permissions...more specifically it wants to directly make phone calls -_-
Has anyone tried it ? I'm worried that it's actually spyware and not really from Samsung.
Edit: screenshot

If it's in Samsung Apps, theoretically it should be safe. I gave up my privacy the second i started using Android. Sharing all those passwords, mail info , social networks info and so on can't be 100 % safe no matter what. I don't even bother to read apps' permissions anymore, but i only install apps from the market which other people regularly use. No app sent sms/mms or automatically called someone without my knowledge/permission. I'm more worried about call/sms costs rather than my privacy being violated, which i'm pretty sure gets raped a lot
I noticed this app too but I am unable to install it.
As shown in the attached image file, the installer always finishes with the message 'Application not installed'.
This happened to me on KH1/KH3. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

[RESOLVED] [Q] What app is this?

Hi! So I'm having some issues with an app I cannot find on my phone.
I have looked through all the running apps, and looked through my applist, and there is no apps that is obvious. And I see myself as an advanced android-user,
so I seek help finding out what app does this.
Here are the screenshots:

What app does this toolbar\powerwidgets ?
And I think its the same app that does the battery-indicator in the next screenshot aswell.
Anyone have any idea what app this could be?
It's annoying the booger out of me as I cannot seem to figure out what app\apps these are.
Help!

Thanks, but it doesnt seem to be it.
Atleast if I try to install the app from the market, it will just be installed again.
When removed its still there.
I also checked /system/app and there's nothing there that could be it.
I'm currently running searched through my whole phone for keywords like "notification"
"Toggle" "Notif" etc. But I cant seem to find anything that could be it.
Driving me crazy.
Edit:
I reformatted the phone and wiped everything clean.
App gone. Still no idea what it was tho.

I still can't get Titanium Backup to work

I've been trying since October 5, the day after picking up my GN3. After flashing CF-AutoRoot the first thing I did was install TB. Upon opening the app I got the usual prompt from Superuser asking for root access. I granted it but instead of getting root I see:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've heard of others having problems with restored apps from TB but I can't even get that point because I can't open the program.
Is there a solution?

[Q] ok, how on earth do you disable the data download warning in the play store?

that one? i only ever really use 3g and want to permanently disable this warning.
looked under the download app - no options, nothing in play store, data under settings etc.
any ideas?
anyone have any thoughts on how to do this?
here is something.. but why am I seeing your screenshot in this one year old thread?
http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/help-google-play-wifi-warning.17287/
I have a hazy recollection that this is actually delivered from Google play online rather than the app. They used to have it triggered for any app over 10mb, then when 3g became mainstream they upped it. My memory is pretty crap most of the time so this could all have been a dream.

How about you un-check "Download using WiFi only"? Aaand it looks like you've used a screenshot from a MIUI ROM, which isn't a crime, but strange
i found a thread re same issue and that had the screengrab (same thing, wrong rom).
unchecking it works for that 1 time and 1 time only which means every time you update a large app you have to manually do it. it's pointless and a waste of time
there was a fix for the miui rom but doesnt apply to ours (in the downloads app but there's no options for it on our phones)

Recover a -deleted- app

So I removed the Galaxy Store app from my phone to test and see if I could reinstall it and use it as user app, that doesn't seem to be the case since it constantly crashes every time I open it
I don't really care that much about the app since the only thing I'm missing is the ability to download other fonts, but it's a bit awkward when I hit download more fonts and all I get is an App Manager screen.
So, is there any way I can maybe restore this app or getting the apk to work without having to reflash this thing yet again? Maybe an alternative app I can use that the system can recognize and get fonts from or anything of the sort?
bump
btw tried moving it to the sytem apps folder to see if that made a difference
nope

maybe there's a way I could edit this so it opens a different window?
