1- You can find all info and files in the guide bellow to revert back (it's in the bottom line of the guide).
2- The camera is not working in the ICS custom releases, if you going to use gtask or overcome the camera should work (in gtask it worked nice)
3- the guide bellow
4- Yes, the main reason i wanted to go for another ROM was the laggy home screen, but if this is your main gripe, try some launchers before flash, i recommend GO LAucner, ADW Launcher and other. They are all in the market.
5- Dude, if even in the first world they don't have the update, how about us??? XDD
Original post:
As i can see, you're in the same boat as me, i had flashed my gtab 3g (7500) with gtask 14, beside it is for the wi-fi model, it worked flawless in my tab. But then i switch back to the original rom and im thinking in rooting it again and install the overcome rom that supports our model (3g).
The link and step-by-step instruction you can find here:
www teamovercome net/p7500/?page_id=5 (put a . between the spaces)
Just remember that you must copy the file "Overcome_10.1_Series_v2.3.1_P7500_Full.zip" to your SDcard (The guide don't say that). For the rest of the guide, is all ok.

Is there anywhere in this forum that gives a simple explanation as to what each Rom does and what are the advantages that they give if you flash them?
I've looked through the development forum and there isn't much information given for a newbie like myself that wants to try romming my s3, well if there is I can't really find it cause each topic about the roms I've read don't exactly say what they do.
It would be great if there was a list explaining all the roms with links to each one and why they'd be useful.
Forgive me if this post seems silly and there is such a topic and I'm just babbling on cause I've looked and have no idea which Rom would come in handy for me cause I'm completely lost.
I'm amazed at what these android phones can do but really really lost and want to learn and maybe make my own themes as I'm a digital artist and would love to make original themes that people would like, but that's another thing I'll learn about in time.
For now I'd love to learn about roms.
Guess I'll try to figure it out myself, ah well I'll get there....
Can't say that there is a thread for what you are looking for but I can say it doesnt hurt to just try them. See which works best for what you are doing and wanting. It is very subjective.
I personally make use of omega and love it

Well I think there's a sticky somewhere in the forum listing all the roms for i9300.
They generally give description of what they offer, but generally sammy based roms rids any bloatware, adds in their tweaks, whereas aosp based roms are missing the sammy functions.
I suggest you have a go at each rom. Just do a nand backup of original and flash the different roms. Doesn't really take that long.

Hi,
If you are too newbie to understand what each ROM does or not... don't flash anything, keep your stock ROM.
Read the OP (the first post of the thread) of each ROM and read the descriptions, features, changelog... if there anything you don't understand... maybe Google can help you...
You need to learn a little by yourself... and right, I agree, try som ROM by yourself, test, see, etc... you'll see faster by yourself than asking here wich ROM have this or that or don't have this or that, do this or that or don't do this or that, etc... and no, there is not a stickie wich explain each ROM function, feature, etc...(it's in the OP of each ROM->READ or wich ROM is made for you, we are on XDA developpers... (!?!).
Test, test, test... and test (after reading) by yourself, it's how you'll learn. Backup your current ROM, flash, test then if you are not happy... flash another ROM, test... etc....
But since you you opened a thread... maybe a specific term or feature you don't understand?
I hope this thread will not going to finish in a "wich is the best ROM" thread...

Thanks for your replies, not much of a learning curve in here for people that really want to learn and the explanations on the first page of each thread doesn't really give a good description of what they do.
I'm all for these roms and think it's great that the developers here can take something and improve on it to give it better performance and have something for everyone.
It wouldn't really hurt though if there was such a thread that each developer of their roms could give a small description of what they do, it would be a very helpful thread and would cut down on people bricking or messing up their mobiles.
Really think a thread like this is needed here, well it's just a suggestion.
I've been to each thread and read what it says but can't really find easy to read descriptions anywhere.
Think I'll try the omega as that's been mentioned twice to me so must be good.
Anyways I think the developers here do amazing things to android phones and it's opened up a new world to me which I really want to be part of.
Good day to you

Rom is Deodexed + Rooted + Zipaligned

All is detailed and explained, right? If there is something you don't understand... Google-it or ask here for a specific term... You realy need to search and read a little by yourself... If we have to explain each lines...
I agree for a newbie, maybe, deodexed or zipaligned is not very evident... but... Google is your friend
The devs explain the features of their ROM (like a kernel) but it's also to the user to make an effort in reading, searching, understanding and learning (a minimum). The devs can't be behind each user to explain everything to them and teach them or to flash their ROM in place of the user because the user know nothing or he won't read and search. There are other members to help of course, but there is also a responsibility of the user...
Its been said for any flashing if you cannot understand the very basics like read and search then you are likely to brick your phone .
Every rom has details in the first and second posts as shown above .

Yeah you're right I'm so used to symbian and using software and firmware which wasn't open as much as android is and when I first visited the developers section was a bit overwhelmed by it all, had my phone not even 3 weeks and learned about rooting, changing firmware, modifying games and now onto roms.
Will read up on Google what things like bloatware and kernel means.
Was interested in a Rom that allows to use my external to add apps and something with better battery performance.
I'll learn in time, bit cautious about adding roms cause of deleting all my data cause last time I tried nandroid I couldn't get all my data back it didn't work and when tried to get back my sd data from the toolkit the data went back but none of the apps showed up and it said that I had used memory putting it there.
I'm not going to install any roms till I get a better understanding of them, I like to learn about things before jumping in.

Re,
This! Very good thought
You'll see that with all good reading you get there and you will learn mostly , a bit of search and you're good to go!
In any case, if you do not understand some specific terms, there will always be someone to answer you here, I mean here in your thread...
So is nandroid best for backing up my phone before I have a go at roms and does it save ALL my apps and data cause this information I couldn't find on Google wasn't very specific what it backs up
Re,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927113 , needs to read but it's usefull
Yes a Nandroid backup is like an "image" in windows, total back-up except modem and internal/external SD Card (****!, don't remember for the kernel, I think no, need confirmation). All is like at the moment when you do the back-up (apps, settings, SMS, data apps, etc...).
According you're rooted...
I hope I forgot nothing...
EDIT: like slaphead20 said, I totaly agree (but don't speak him about efs: too early, hum I'm just kidding, it's the right way, maily about the efs folder), in nay case Nandroid back-up first, it will save you if something goes wrong...

Yes it is, and if things go wrong you will restore your phone to the exact point you backed it up.
Use k tools(play store) to back up your efs, and copy that to pc.
You have the right attitude, take your time and learn, don't be afraid to ask......I lurked on XDA for 3 months before even joining!
Enjoy and all the best, any questions you can also try asking over in the general thread in general, it's a safe place to ask anything, but do try and find solutions first with search
Thanks for the links and help, now got to Google what ef's is.
So much to learn, rooted two days after getting my phone was quite simple I'm a very quick learner if the information is there.
Re,
About efs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852255
Hum, maybe a little hard... (Verizon or International version, the princip is the same).
EDIT: a toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
I know, I know it's not the right way to learn but...
EDIT 2: you're rooted, you have done the most important!
Thank you, I'll read up on all that cause it will come in very handy.
I've run out of giving thanks for useful replies cause I was only allowed 8 apparently, not allowed to be over generous here.
Hi everybody,
here are my impressions and questions ( please answer me ) after reading forum threads and playing with my fit.
Its one day im using sgf and impressions are good, except for all the limitations and "walls" met with a non samsung dev.
First of all, my FIT firmware is R350XXU0BND8 and actually im using Fit Manager 1.49
Fit connects well with phone and everything is working except SHealth (is there a way to get rid of this?)
but i will play more with it ... not now cause "fitness" use is not my first need
Even the clock+weather layout doesn't work. I have found somewhere the "SweatherProvider" apk, but it wont install on my FIND5, why? is there a way to fix it?
I have edited build.props (like stated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718949) and now all the "gear settings, gear phone and gear calendar" apps are working. They are running a little slow, but acceptable.
Is there any way to put the icon in an easier place? instead of scroll--> settings-->apps --> gearPhone app ?
First question: every Manager version works only with relative firmware, right? So if i want to use last mgr version (1.67) i have to put on FIT last firmware (R350XXU0BNE5) right? and this should work even with 1.70 ( found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789503)
Second question: Wich are all the apk's that i should install except manager? I mean do i need Fitness_with_gear, shealth_service, Shealth apk's?
Final and "stupid" question. With non samsung devices i have to always update firmware and manager versions manually, right?
sorry... missing phone info

Q&A for [ROM][Sep 25][XXUGNH4][4.3] [XXEMJ2][4.1.2] NeatRomLite/Themed/Aroma/Full/Mods
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM][Sep 25][XXUGNH4][4.3] [XXEMJ2][4.1.2] NeatRomLite/Themed/Aroma/Full/Mods. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Hi
Just installed Neat rom 8 stock version 'light'. Everything seems to be working well. The only (very minor) issue is that the samsung keyboard differs from the original stock 4.3 one in that it doesn't show a selection of words to choose underneath, as you type.. The only option seems to be for it to actually make it's own changes as you type, which I hate.
Is there any way to get the original stock keyboard back?
TIA
EDIT: Anyone home? Been directed to this Q&A section because I have less than 10 posts. What's the point if there's nobody around?
You forget to tick language file option in aroma
Hi. When you say 'aroma', do you mean the list of samsung/ google apps presented when you install neatrom 8? There wasn't a language file option when doing the install. Or is Aroma a separate thing to install (that's not included when you install neatrom)?
Anyhow, looking again at Sale's first post , I think he has used the Note 3 keyboard instead of the stock S3 one. That's probably why the keyboard doesn't have suggestions underneath when you type (looks identical other than that).
So need to find some way to install S3 keyboard. Any suggestions? .TIA
Aroma is the choice of what you want to install

NeatRom v8.0 (4.3) Samsung Galaxy S3 Bug
Hi guys,
I report some errors that I noticed. (Firmware: I9300XXUGNH4 NeatROM v8.0 (4.3))
The internet explorer icon is duplicated when you activate the Framework in Xposed installer.
In Settings/ Control NeatRom / General Mods / Screen Off Animations, the options are reversed.
After a few reboot, the problem goes away.
Can you check?
Can you add the screen off option through double-tap on the screen?
Thanks for the your work. :good:

It's not about xposed framework, one is stock sammy browser from s3, the bottom left icon, and the upper right is browser from Note3, which adds support for eyescroll etc. because these features don't work with s3 browser.
Cheers
any others theme compatible with neatrom lite 4.8?
Thanks Dev for this beautiful rom, but why there are two internet browser?? can you explain this ... & how can i delete one or use one ....?
Is it me or 8.0 just ruined the memory?
I get redraw after redraw, the memory management is awful.
Should I do a fresh install or go for early release?
It's so frustrating.
BTW I use this ROM for months and never got this problem.

You're lucky.
After 8 months on neatrom I decided that is time to move forward cause of the stupid memory management.
Now I'm using cm11 and the memory management is amazing. ?
Neatroam v8.2 on my device no lags and fc's but voice command not working. Internet is fast when connected to wifi. But scr recorder slow on recording. Screencast not working. I cant demo my fon but this rom is very nice! Battery is consuming 12% per hour on wifi and web browsing, non stop online gaming 2-3 hours overall this rom is way better than other roms out there!
btw I used boeffla kernel
Quetion: why I cant flash your jb 4.1.2 and 4.2 version? But I successfully flash 4.3 v8.2
is it just me?
SIM relock
Im on stock 4.1 and unlocked SIM with root method (not with unlock code). Will this rom relock my SIM and is it possible to unlock sim on 4.3 ?

Hi,
Is it possible to add Flashlight Toggle for NeatRomLite 4.3?
smart network doesn't work, it doesn't turn off wifi or mobile data when screen is off
press volume up to turn on torch also doesn't work all the time, happened to me twice but i don't know what caused it to get bugged
short interruptions while listening to music, sometimes more, sometimes less, usually gets fixed with a restart
adobe flash player doesn't always install when i install the rom, happens with lite and extra lite, i haven't tried the full bloatware option
i think you should add the default music player to lite edition since it breaks the clock, you can't chose a custom clock sound without it
when you open "neatrom update" for the first time it crashes, it doesn't crash after that anymore
these are all the bugs i had found after a month of daily use, i'm really happy with it, thank you very much for this rom, some lag now and then (because of limited ram?) but otherwise it is close to perfection
Possible link S3_aromaMods_v3
Thank you very much
HI,
I cant find any place on-line with info on this issue... just recently I flashed my Samsung S2 GT-I9100 with the following roms:
cm-12-20141217-UNOFFICIAL-i9100
cm-12-20150102-UNOFFICIAL-i9100
cm-12-20150206-UNOFFICIAL-i9100
cm-12-20150218-UNOFFICIAL-i9100
omni-4.4.4-20150224-i9100-NIGHTLY
cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-i9100
cm-11-20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-i9100
cm-11-20131210-UNOFFICIAL-i9100
And out these, all except the last one had a common issue... extreme screen flickering (not sure if thats the right term) upper half of the screen goes to the lower half and vice versa... keyboards disappear... all kinds of wild things..... and the last one ie' cm-11-20131210-UNOFFICIAL-i9100' does not have this issue still it has unresolved front cam issues among others...
I have attached some screen shots for better understanding. this is the ss of only one rom but all others was also exactly the same except for the working one I mentioned.

so i was really excited to install new roms(i was going for lollipop but had to try all these as the lollipo version did not work) but seems like i have to go back to the original jellybean rom .... can anyone please help me... .
FYI i used CWM 6.0.4.5 for all these.
So... is there anything i can do???
Or Am i doing something wrong??
Thanks for reading through!
PS: i tried settings/dev options/ disable hw overlays ...... it did not work.
i have also posted this question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/please-help-samsung-s2-display-problems-t3040204
and here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...y-problems-after-flashing-rom-pls-dont-ignore
Just because it wasn't mentioned in the post, you are wiping data, system, and caches before installing the ROM, correct? Also, have you tried using TWRP recovery instead of CWM? It seems like you have the latest version of CWM available for your device, but you could also try downgrading to CWM 6.0.2.9 to see if that works.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.
Stand by
Good luck
It is time to create a new thread to avoid the others from going fully out of control.
My kitchen is finally working fine again, the test firmwares so far function within my expections.
I don't really need much for my needs, meaning my personal firmware will be quite basic.
But I would like to also provide some nice firmware for those out there currently not considering to upgrade to the 7.2.x firmwares.
The basic idea is to have something ready to be flashed with TWRP to get a fully working and mostly already updated 7.1 with full root rights.
What shall go in in terms of stock or additional apps is up to you guys.
A filemanager? Name it...
Additional video player? Again, let me know which one is prefered.
Maybe something like HaLauncher to get easy access to the non TV apps?
Or shortcuts to launch them from the default launcher?
Ad blocker maybe?
Or some Magisk modules?
I think you got the basic idea!?
This type of thread is more suited in general/guides than a dev thread.. at least until custom rom links are available
Fair enough, I then first make one, then add what might be needed, then start again.
Well, then just remove or delete the topic until then I guess....
Can't seem to be able to do it myself, so please go ahead.
Will post again once the rom is done.
