Ever since upgrading to 2.2 I have lost the ability to connect to my schools WPA2-Enterprise network. I've searched and found that this was an issue introduced in 2.2 (I could connect fine on 2.1) and has been fixed in 2.3. I've tried all the solutions I've found online and zero have worked. These include using apps from the market such as Wifi Advanced Configuring and replacing the wpa_supplicant file in /system/bin/ with the version from 2.1
The werid thing is, after completely wiping and flashing a new rom, it will connect fine the first time but not after that so im thinking it has something to do with certificate/credential storage?
The network I'm trying to connect to is WPA2-Enterprise, authenticated via PEAP and MSCHAPV2
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What system files might affect this? Can I try replacing them from a 2.3 build?
Any ideas/input would be appreciated
Ummm.....I connect the same exact way with the same exact settings at my job and I haven't experinced any issues while running 2.2. Which rom are you using?

Its happend on all of the 2.2 roms I've tried, (AOSP, MIUI, CM6, TW).
I've had the same issue. The odd thing is that some days I actually get it to link up on the first try to the same router, but other days I do all the various steps that you can find while googling for answers and never get to successfully connect.
Almost makes going back to 2.1 seem worthwhile...
Flashed a new rom today and connected to the network fine first try like usual. Cycled wifi and it wont connect again.
Anyone know where it stores wifi credentials? I'm thinking if I can clear them each time I want to connect it should work...
I'm in the same boat...although, my thread is on the second page with no replies. I am also unable to connect to enterprise wifi on campus...drives me nuts. I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out. I had no problems with enterprise wifi on 2.1...I wonder which file I could flash from 2.1 to make it work, I'm sure someone knows.
Looks like your school now has an allow list on their wifi

Are you saying my school restricts Android 2.2 users from using thier wifi while allowing 2.1 users to use it? I'm not sure what you mean...
Im saying maybe they needed more bandwidth so they put a block/allow list on their wifi. Nothing to do with your froyo. Or android. Could be they are ALLOWING ONLY KNOWN IP ADDRESSES now..(Since you dont know what an allow list is) Happened to me at work. And i dont have 3g at work so it sucks.
Only other explanation is that you screwed up during flashing. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I mean.......my wifi works just fine and ive flashed every rom in the dev section...currently on ec01 and wifi wpa2/enterprise is flawlessly working.

I'm fairly certain its not either of these issues, considering after I flash a rom I can connect to my schools network fine the first time. Its the subsequent connections that are giving me issues.
Here's a link to the issue on googles open source android project.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1386
It basically says that it was an issue not present in 2.1, introduced in 2.2 and fixed in 2.3. I'm wondering if anyone knows what system files might affect this (wifi driver, certificates, deeper kernel issues?) and if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can start trying to pull files from other builds and see if it fixes my issues. I'm a complete noob but willing to give it a shot.
Can anyone let me know if ED01 or the official froyo rom has a fix for this wifi problem..??

As I'm sure you know by now, none of the froyo updates fix the wifi problem. However, I can report flashing JT's CM7 build did fix the issue and it truly is an awesome rom if you can stand a few features missing.
As of now, there seems to be no fix for froyo builds

That is nothing short of a disappointment...until there is a fix, I'll just have to keep a close eye on my data usage.
I am having same sorts of problems on all wifi since upgrade to 2.2 froyo pushed out to me by VZ when I changed out a "bad" handset. VZ no help, referred me to Samsung; they have acknowledge problem but have no fix, or eta....
Hey everybody,
I have had a problem since installing the first beta of FreeX10 2.2, when i attempt to join my wireless at work (PEAP, MSChapV2) it does not save the credentials or try to connect.
my Wireless works great at home on my WPA2-PSK wireless, but the phone just refuses to save any setup for an enterprise connection.
Creating it manually doesnt work either, nor does setting up the credential storage system and password first, then doing it (on the 2.1 stock first time it prompts me to set up password etc)
Anybody else run into this? I think i saw it mentioned once a long time ago in the forum for the ROM, but i havent seen mention of it again, and its stopping me being able to use my wireless in the place i need it most (work, where my mobile coverage is almost non-existent)
I did see somebody mention a workaround at some point with some 3rd party app to pre-setup the wireless, but i havent been able to find that app, and have since forgotten how / what they were talking about, any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Ayden
i don't know, but i would say you should try wolfs froyo rom .
everything is working very well, fast and smooth !
and it's a lot better then the old free x10 betas..
thats my perspective
I might do that, i tried the cyanogen 7 version and couldnt get past the boot screen for some reason, will try that one though
I'll post back with how i go
Hey,
Has anyone had any success using Faceniff or Droidsheep with the Rezound? Both capture sessions over WIFI that you're connected to.
I'm having the same problem I did with my incredible. Basically they kinda work (pick up some session cookies) but after I shut them down my internet (via the phone) is screwed up. I can open webpages but they'll get stuck loading about half way through (the progress bar never finishes). I used to think it was an issue on my Incredible cause I was using custom roms and kernels. However just got a Rezound a few days ago and the same problem exists.
The only way to fix the phone's flaky network issues after running either of these two seems to be a full reboot. I've tried network resetting programs (and Airport mode) but those don't resolve it.
Anyone have any ideas or success using droidsheep (Free: www.droidsheep.de ) or Faceniff (demo: http://faceniff.ponury.net/ ) on the Rezound? Both require root btw...
Thanks!

I've tried it before but never had any luck...i think its a gimmick
It worked before on my Desire. I took over my friend's account while he was on lifeguard duty at the pool to tell him to pay attention to the kids instead of checking facebook.
ive used it on my rezound but its always been hit or miss
I just had about enough with this device! This is so frustrating...
Okay, I have not done anything to my tfp. it's on stock .11. Wifi was flimsy as with everybody, but I was perfectly able to surf the internet and download apps from the market etc.
I am not sure what has happened but suddenly my internet connection isn't working properly no more. the wifi icon stays grey, I can no longer browse the android market (tells me there is a network problem) and when I open the standard browser it tells me there is a problem with certificates on pretty much every page I open.
What the hell is going on? I don't have time for this! I need to work with this device.
Has anyone ever had similar experiences with android/tf201? It might be an ICS quirk, maybe some sort of software fluke or an actual security problem, I have no idea what to google or where to check.
Please help!

Try forgetting your wifi connection and restarting I had to do that to my tfp and it worked right after as for the market I have not seen this issue yet but Have you tired to clear data/cache for just the market app under settings?
Hi Everybody, new on here but had nowhere else to turn. Sony support told me to turn it off and on and try search for new app updates.
Anyhow problem started right after using the repair tool. I tried to flash a custom rom which failed so I repaired using sony companion. Since I did that the tablet is not offering me the 4.4 update which I previously had running on the tablet. That's not in all too much of an issue but thought I'd give the background. So after all this the apps on my tablet don't seem to want anything streaming, it's really odd. BBC iPlayer, Spotify and Netflix are all having problems. Netflix tells me to check internet connection and date/time and the other apps just say I'm offline. It's really weird because I am online and can download from the internet just fine. The browser allows me to use the internet as normal just these apps seem to be saying im constantly offline whilst I'm connected to the wifi.
Please any help on this would be much appreciated.
Kind regards
I can confirm Netflix works fine on 4G now so must be an Internet issue. Anyone any ideas where to start with this??
