Unfortunately, no. See like you said. The Evo 3D uses stereoscopic technology to display 3D images and videos. Now unless you have a computer that is 3D (In which I don't believe there are any) you will not be able to view those videos or images on your PC. Sorry .

I figured I would share a way I found to view the 3d photos you take with the phone. I have a 3D tv as well as a 3D bluray player and neither of them would recognize the .mpo extension. So after some research I did find a method of displaying my 3D photos from my Evo 3D.
If you have a PS3 and a 3D tv then this solution is for you. First you need to go to the Playstation Store and download Playmemories. It is a free download. Next, you will need to transfer your 3D photos to a usb stick or external hd that is FAT32. Finally, open Playmemories and import from your external device and enjoy. If you though the quality was good on the phone; you have to see your pics on the big screen.
Enjoy!
U can bypass the usb stick step if you just mount the phone on the ps3...

Is there any software out there that can do this? I don't want to see two side by side videos on my computer when I view the movie I recorded.

when you "share" the video, it will ask you if the device you are sharing to is a 2d or 3d device.
edit: wait, I guess that only works for pictures.
I am wondering the same thing. If you upload a 3D video to YouTube, it gives you options to just watch in 2D from either camera angle, but no option to export just one camera view....rather frustrating. Anyone have a solution?
I'm looking for an answer to this as well. I took 3d video but someone wants a copy but i cant send it to them since they dont have 3d. I thought the "share as 2d" would pop up but it didnt for videos,...only pics.
Put it on your computer then save it as a mpeg 4, AVI etc....

That still keeps it as 3d (side x side). We want to view the 3d video as 2d on our computer screens/hdtv (non 3d).
try this program, it may work as u wish...

Has anyone been able to encode there own MKV 3D movies to MP4 and then have the Gallery App see the movie as a 3D video file?
I notice some 3D MP4s from YouTube ripped to the phone are automatically tagged as 3D so soon as the video is opened its in 3D and also has the Cube in the corner to change from 2D and 3D.
Question is how can we add that tag information to our own MP4 files so the gallery see the video as 3D instead of having to switch it manually. Itll also sort it under the 3D category in the gallery if the file is recognized as 3D.

I've looked into this and haven't found a way to tag to videos as 3d. I looked into reencoding them as well with the proper tags. Haven't found any program that allows you to change the Meta tag or the files. Hopefully someone has found an answer.

Ok here's how:
1)Download Handbrake for free.
2)Add your 3D video in the program.
3)Select EVO 3D option from the menu on right.
4)Click "advanced"
5)In the advanced settings, there are some unusual things written at the bottom.
Add "frame-packing=3:" at the beggining of that unusual crap.
It should be like this:
"frame-packing=3:level=30:cabac..."
Click start button and wait till the program encodes the video. And voila you have an Auto3D video
Your welcome

After few experiments I've discovered, that frame-packing key need to have value 3 if the source video is horizontal stereo-pair (side-by-side), but it also have to be 4 (frame-packing=4) if it's vertical stereopair (OverUnder). So, we CAN play vertical stereopair 3D videos on the Evo 3D!
Also, values 1 and 2 of this key are vertical and horizontal interlaced stereo-pictures and value 5 is frame-by-frame frame packing (one left, one right and so on), but I have no source videos of these types to try if the Evo 3D can play them.
Hi there!
I got my new Evo 3D today, now I'm trying to play a 3D Bluerayrip on it.
For the SD card is the Movie to big. I found a Streaing method, but on this the movie is not in 3D, I only see the two Stereoscopic pictures. Switching to 3D isn't there.
How i can watch the movie on the Evo?
thanks a lot =)
Only the stock movie player app has the 3d button. You would need to convert it to a file version supported by the stock app. Can the stock app load streams?

what streaming method did you find? I was hoping to do this same thing as I've taken so much 3D video I've had to move it to my PC and I've thought maybe I can watch it on my phone via streaming! I know that the YouTube app can play streaming feeds in 3D, but that's off YouTube. maybe if someone can make it able to read streams from other addresses!
You can stream in the gallery app. Just select 'media servers' from the dropdown at the top.

Download handbrake and add the metadata ":frame-packing=3" to your movie file, it will take a few minutes, then try streaming again, it will automatically be on 3D(remember to use mp4 file type, no need to use a different player.
(PlayStation3 Media Server works great with DNLA)

with VLC on the PC and VLC s&c you can stream 2D Movies, but not 3D.
But the method is fast and smooth =D
now I'm trying to play a 3D Bluerayrip on it.

Split into 2gb chunks, or reduce bitrate.

The streaming method should matter. If the video is encoded as a SBS (side by side) picture, the 3d should recognize it and turn the 3d screen on.
Hello out there,
I uploaded a 2D Video on Youtube and selected to convert it to 3D. When I open it on my computer in the browser I can select the 3D option, even if I dont have a 3D display. But on my evo 3D I can not see a option to switch to 3D view, even if I select HQ mode.
Videos that are original 3D content are no problem to play in 3D.
My evo is with german stock rom (no branding) Android 4.0.3, Sense 3.6
Youtube App 4.2.16
The Video I talk about is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Vhc4lGqfhk
Is this a missing feature in the Youtube App or did I make a mistake?
Well, if the video was 2d to begin with, youtube can't magically make it into a 3d video.

But that states 1080p,
the video you're trying to watch is 480p.
Maybe that's one reason..

Sure, but why can I view a side-by-side version on my computer, but not on the evo 3D?

Because the video must be HD for the 3d's youtube app to properly display it.

If it is yours, download the 3D video to your phone and then view it.
Ok, thx for the information. I will upload a 1080p version and try it.
