[Q] DIM and Auto - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi all,
What do "Dim" and "Auto" mean in Backlight settings using cyanogenmod.
I have these settings available in the power management widgets, and i use only 25%/100% for brightness toggles, because i don't know what the others mean.
Thank you,
++

Dim mean darkest and auto regulate the backlight to the light around the phone - but it doesn't works on Ace because we don't have light sensor.

Ehnhance maximum brightness

Guys as you know, Xperia neo's brightness (maximum) is very low compared to ARc or even X10 mini pro. My mini pro at 50% is equal to the 100% brightness of my Neo. Is there any trick or hack or whatever it is to increase the brightness above 100%? Something to override the maximum brightness? The screen is annoying under the factory set max brightness as the white colored pages look yellowish.
Is there some way to increase the brightness beyond the factory settings?

SuperDIM only lets the brightness go below the minimum, not higher than the maximum on stock.
I agree with genothampi ,the brightness in NEO V is very low compared to my X10 , there should be a way to increase the brightness higher than the maximum on stock or maybe the devs find a solution for that .
happy new year to every one
The MIUI ROM apparently does increase the brightness upto a crazy amount xD
Try it :
Should be ported to Stock

If you use the latest s.e tweaked Rom it has the light sensor disabled by default and lets you set the brightness all the way up its too bright now just The way most of us like it

Try Disable Auto Brightness
Not good for battery life

first I have modified the file hw_config.sh using root explorer, but I don't liked, because when I turn on the phone in a dark place the screen was dark, then I had to turn on the phone always in a bright place
now I use a app, Disable Auto Brightness (PLAY) and works perfect now, when I turn on my xperia neo the app disable the sensor light and the screen stay maximum brightness
anything, just ask.
sorry for my English

I have already fixed the brightness on my rooted Neo V using the app ( disable auto brightness ) but my question to you is , would you port the hw_config.sh from the s.e tweaked Rom since you are saying that the light sensor disabled by default , so this way we can apply that to the ROM and no need to install the ( disable auto brightness ) .
thanks in advance

or you can try disable sensor for free with method used in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426948
I have bought Hatcyl's app but I like more this free method, because it has lower minumum brightness which is important if you want good battery life.

Light sensor

Hi members.
The live with walkway has got a light sensor. Why has Sony disabled automatic use of this sensor. I can't find an option to enable it.

Well as far as I know the brightness adjustment it's always there and there's no way to turn it off.
Weird I know because you can change the light intensity under the screen options and the sensor it's not able or at least not in any of the roms I tried with this option to completely and automatically adjust the brightness.
You can complain to sony it is they doing.

When it is always there and active, then it isn't function.
In service menu I can test the light sensor. The values change when I put my finger over it.
But in normal phone use the brightness doesn't change. When I put my finger over the sensor then it should reduce the brightness.

Brightness does change, but the difference is quite small.
Sometimes, you might see screen light a bit vibrating/flashing, that is because of the light sensor.

I hated that brightness sensor. At first i tought the screen was about to expire. Used this app (i think it needs root) to dissable the auto brightness

[Q] Selective Focus

Between the new functions of the Galaxy S5 I have appreciated the Selective Focus, that it only focuses what interests in a release. Doesn't S4 Zoom lens have a similar function?
Nope. Only in manual option press photobutton to a half and then move ring - You will get manual focus.

Forced max brightness when using camera app

I've got problem - when I'm taking a photo display boosts the brightness to max level. After taking the picture when I press the miniature and gallery app opens brightness is still max. Is there any solution for such issue? This phone will make me blind...

Noticed the same
Screen brightness with camera
I've got the same problem of the screen brightness changing to maximum when using the camera. Being a person who always has the screen brightness set to low makes this problem bloody annoying! My phone is a Honor 10 lite. Are all Android 9 Pie phones the same?
Happens to me as well!
Has anyone tried using Tasker to fix this?

Brightness boost

Hi,
When 'Increase Readability Under Sunlight' under developer options is turned off, does the display still boost the brightness (with brightness set on auto) outdoors/under strong light conditions or does it not?
I would like to toggle off this option because besides boosting the brightness, it also changes the display gamma and thus washes out colours. I really don't like this. So I want to keep the boost, but without the gamma change. I'm worried that with this option under developer settings turned off, the brightness on auto doesn't get higher than the maximum on manual.
Is there someone who can test this or knows the answer?
Oke, I tried out with a strong led light and it looks like the boost mode still works with 'Increase Readability Under Sunlight' toggled off. I'm not sure though as I don't have a lux measure device. But at least now I don't have that frustrating self adjusting gamma anymore.
Oh! Thanks for making that thread. Even throught nobody answered there I hope we can talk. I didn't even notice the gamma change. Does it boost brightness over the manual slider 100%? It's weird in my opinion. The brightness slider should reach the same brightness level as the automatic under sun
