UPDATED: AOSP ICS Notification Sounds and System Apps - HTC Amaze 4G

Pulled these from my xoom, figured some people may want these. These are exactly what the title says, straight AOSP ICS sounds
EDIT: pulled all the relevant system apps if anyone wants to give them a go. I included the odex files along with the apks. includes stock home launcher...
EDIT 2: apps should go into /system/app and change permissions to rw-r-r

I'm out of thanks for the day.
Thanks

*NEW* JB - ICS - GB - AOKP & Stock APK Repository [09/04/2012]

I don't know if anyone else has had issues after flashing ROM's and missing an APK they used...but I have. This thread is simply for STOCK APK's and that have been developed by devs (TW4.5 by Frogger, etc.).
*Individual ICS APK Files will be in the 4th Post, Easiest way to keep them separted.
*Individual Jelly Bean Files will be in the 2nd Post.

None of these APK's are purchased as I do not believe in pirating
I will try keeping this updated with important APK's as well as custom APK's (ie TW4.5).
How to install an apk.
1) Download APK straight to your phone.
2) Use any file explorer (My Files, Root Explorer, etc) and find the downloaded apk.
3) Click on the apk and when prompted, install using the installer.
4) You are done.
*These are stock APK files, there is always the risk of these not working on custom ROM's but you shoulnd't have any issues. If you are replacing an already installed APK you may need to delete the current one and then wipe your dalvik cache in CWM.

I forgot to add Swype to the individual list, you can download it from the link below.

You can download all the TW4.5 APK's below. I pulled these from CriskeloRom because that ROM uses TW4.5. All APK's should work if you're using 4.5...NOT STOCK.

ALL INDIVIDUAL FILES LISTED BELOW ARE STOCK APK's, If you use them on TW4.5 they may force close or fail to install.

Here are a few widgets from a TW4.5 ROM. Not exactly sure what widget is for the Agenda app but try some of these. I obviously can't guarantee these will work but they are for TW4.5.
Also, try using the TW4.5 Manager App before anything else. If you don't have it I included it as well. You can open the manager, click on widgets, and install the widgets you want.
Good idea sir. I'm going to request that it becomes a sticky.
Thread stuck as requested.
Thanks for making a thread to house the stock roms so they are available. I know you wont, but I have to include it anyway, please dont post any non-free apps (paid for or exclusive/not open for public).
Keep up the good work!

Could you post the AT&T Hot Spots app? That is the one piece of bloatware that I actually use. It is quite useful in places where the AT&T network is overrun, like airports.

Stupid question I'm sure... But where can I get TW4.5? Is this the same one from over in the international forums?

I have the APK in the first list (TW4Launcher.apk). Some widgets will not work with the new TW4.5 but most of them should be in the TW4.5 Full APK download.
Install the TW4Manager.apk as well. It will install most of the widgets for you. I have included both APK's in this post.
Also, yes this is from the international version. If you search their thread you can find the thread dedicated to TW4.5 as well. The dev is Frogger.

I'm not familiar with ICScrewed and don't know what it runs on. You can always try the TW4.5 weather apk and see if that works.

If you're replacing older APK's you'll probably need to wipe the dalvik cache and restart. If that doesn't work I'm not sure where to guide you. Guess I need to try ICScrewed for a couple days.

Transfer of Custom rom themes

I would like to transfer the theme from one rom to another. I will be transferring Scott's Developer edition theme from his Cleanrom Developer edition to a stock deodex'd rom. Is there any way to do this? I have little experience with themeing roms but I can follow directions pretty good.
isn't cleanrom pretty much a stock rom?

it can be as simple as pushing the specific apps into your phone but it isnt most of the time...
devs make loads of modifications and such so usually isnt as simple
but id suggest you check out tutorials about themeing and the intro to themeing thread

call me crazy but I *think* the blue theme from the dev edition is actually a skin defaulted by the ROM, called blu bugaloo or something? see if there's an apk in /system/app for that ROM, put it into the same place for the ROM you want, it should just show up in your skin options, apply it? you could also ask scott, he's a good dev and quite helpful

Yes that theme file is part of it but I dont think it changes everything. I have asked Scott and he has been helping me quite a bit, but I don't want to bug him either . He told me to ask on his forum too but I already had this topic open...

the skin is basically fusion.apk, to get any other themed items from a ROM, you could pull out these and use them in your new ROM:
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
/system/app/Rosie.apk
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/framework/htc.resources.apk
/system/app/dialer.apk (only if the dialer is themed)
/system/app/phone.apk (same ^^^)

This has worked for everything but the GPS icon. The icon is still stock and visible even when disabled. Scott's rom has replaced the GPS icon and made it invisible when GPS was turned off. Any ideas?
you can replace the gps on icon with one that has been made transparent, but without being able to use pc at the moment cant tell you where its at. i think in either systemui or framework-res

I tried copying the systemui from Scott's rom to the stock rom and flashing it, but it doesn't make a difference. I verified that the same images from Scott's rom are in the rom I just flashed, as I can view them with root explorer. It still shows stock though.
The three custom image files for the gps icon in scotts rom are:
stat_sys_gps_acquiring
stat_sys_gps_acquiring1
stat_sys_gps_acquiring2
However, the rom is ignoring these files and instead using:
sym_gpsone_0_sprint
sym_gpsone_3_sprint
sym_gpsone_0_vzw
These three files are the stock white sense crosshair icons.
This is a view of the files from SystemUI.apk res\drawable-hdpi
The three blue icons are the ones I want to use.
That was small, here is a bigger version:

if you have 7zip you can open the apk with the images you want, copy them to your desktop, rename them to the name the new rom uses, then paste or drag them into the new apk (opened with 7zip), by the way, I think/hope you're off one png name, no way is a sprint rom using a vzw png lol
I was wrong, it is only using two files:
sym_gpsone_0_sprint
sym_gpsone_3_sprint
One is GPS active and one is GPS off.
I dont think renaming it is the issue. I have tried copying the entire systemUI.apk folder from Scott's rom over to the stock rom, and it still does the same thing. The default icons are also present in Scott's rom, just not used.
My next question is, what file (XML file?) references these files?

-trust me, pull the 3 images you want out of his sysUI using 7zip
-rename from stat_blah_acquire_0
to sym_sprint_gps_blah_0

-open up new rom sysui with 7zip
-paste in renamed pngs
-push modded apk to phone or flash it

How to install AOSP ICS MMS.APK

Any ideas how to install the AOSP ICS MMS.APK?
I'm running the LPB leak so i've got the ugly TW MMS.apk. I've tried MMS.APK from a CM9 download but it didn't work. Is there a flashable CWM file available? Currently using Handcent.
Thanks
I've been looking into this myself, as I much prefer the ICS look to the horrible iPhone-alike TW MMS app.
There's a thread that provided the stock ICS app, but the files were on multiupload, so it's not downloadable at the moment. The OP there indicated that there was a problem running the MMS app anyway.
I have tried grabbing the MMS.apk from the latest CM9 release for the SGSII, and that exhibits the described problem; the thread list appears, but the app FCs when trying to open a message thread.
---------- Post added at 01:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ----------
There's also an ICS MMS app on the market, but it has been modified to include ads, so I'm not interested in that one.
Some guys looked at removing the ads, but the thread was shut down (for obvious reasons).

How did you try to install. As an apk. or using root explorer to pass to system/app folder?
Just wanted to bump this thread. I love the AOSP MMS app, and it FC's on me on Samsung LPH firmware. I tried pasting it to system/app, and it fc's when I try to send a message. Hopefully someone can port this apk
I believe you have to replace another apk as well.
If you want a rom that already has it, try Spike's Pure ICS special edition. It has aosp mms, calendar and contacts.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Westcrip's Resurrection Remix 9.4 is really good too. I've been using ever since 9.2 and it's been perfect so far - no FCs or bootloops or any problems at all, really. And apps are AOSP. He also has black versions of AOSP SMS and Market among others, which I love.
+1 for the AOSP mms.apk. Also tried replacing mms.apk with AOSP from different roms but it doesn't work.
I'm using Spike's Pure ICS 6.1, too bad the special edition is only in English. If Spike (or someone else) could give us a working AOSP mms.apk that would be great!
Now who wants AOSP MMS.apk for their S II?!
Download the following zip file and flash it:
http://www.mediafire.com/?8dejky1cqzc14lv
Note:
1. Make sure you flash it only after you have already synced up your contacts with google (do not flash it immediately after flashing a new rom)
2. This zip will replace your SMS app, CONTACTS app, CALENDAR app and your CALCULATOR app to AOSP versions.
3. Be sure you take a nandroid backup before flashing.
4. You must be in a Samsung ICS ROM (XXLPQ only) for this zip to work.
5. I did not create this zip. The credit goes to Spike_M who made this zip that can be flashed to his ROM Pure ICS. Do try out his ROM.
ENJOY!!
Thanks RobinRichard, though unfortunately this didn't work for me on XXLPQ (root with CF-Root). Phone and messaging services die horribly after flashing that zip with CWM -- "phone has stopped" and "messaging has stopped" dialogs constantly pop up
Will have a play when I have a bit more time, but I have restored the Samsung apps for now.

Im on lpq (litening rom 2.1) and it works perfectly for me too!
I used AOSP mms.apk from Spike's Pure ICS V7.0. It worked well. Btw, I used root explorer to copy the apk in/system/app
Hi,
How did you paste the apk into system/apps? mine says read only ?!?
And also did you just paste 1 file or did you copied a few? like the files in the framework?
Someone have dialer app? =) btw, i'll make a custom rom with dsixda kitchen, so, i put the files in /system/app, right? also for the files in framework folder? right? =)

You can use a program such as Root Explorer to remount it. If you don't have that, there are other ways to do this using adb.
Does anyone happen to have a working mms.apk thaybis the same as the one in cm9? I think the aosp one is horridly ugly as is the Sammy one, but love the one used in cm9. But because it has a long way to go yet I don't wanna run cm9 as an every day driver.

Looking for Blur Bloatware

Anyone seen a blur bloatware package for .173 deodexed? I flashed eclipse and I like it but i want the social apps and my gallery etc back I actually like them, call me crazy. Razrx rom had a flashable one but it was odex and for .748. I dont even have to have it flashable I will push them all. If not I'll have to package myself, just trying to be lazy I guess.

I have the exact same question and the same issue! I love the eclipse rom I'm running right now but also miss some of the the Motoblur apps.
I also have a another rooted razr running the stock GB that came with it, so I found all the apk files in the system/app folder, but have not been able to install them onto my razr running the Eclipse ROM. I've placed them in my system/app folder, fixed the permission, and rebooted the device, but no luck.
Please help! Thanks!
I am also interested in this, particularly the text messaging app from stock. I really liked the style of it, but the eclipse theme overwrote it and i couldn't restore the old one because it was not deodexed, I think. If anyone can make the stock text app work that would be appreciated.
My dream is a blur free stock ROM...
With stock agenda,sms/mms,dialer,gallery and configurations menu...

[app] lollog browser v1.0

HEY GUYS!
This is the Stock Browser from the official Android 4.0.4! I just changed some images, because the stock design wasnt the most beautyful for me.
By the way, you have to excuse me if some images arent sooooo good, because i'm just an 15 years old pupil from Germany and I learned everything about theming myself! So tell me what you don't like in this app and i will try to get better.
I did not try to install it like a normal app, but it should work.
If it does not just push it to /system/app and change the permissions to rw-r-r. After you did this just reboot. (You have to delete the original TW Browser before!)
So have fun and hit thanks button please
Screenshoot and download in the attachments!
