Car stereo has bluetooth. I finally hooked up a microphone so it's usable in the car for making calls. When I place a call everything works fine, but when I receive a call I can't hear the caller, although they can hear me fine.
Anyone else experience this and find a fix?
Running the latest official AT&T release with no modifications.
Yes, I keep finding this myself and I have discovered the "problem" and solution
Basically, any incoming calls default to handset speaker and you have to manually tap "bluetooth" to transfer the call to the headset/handsfree. When making outgoing calls, it defaults to Bluetooth from the offset so no problem!
What I do not know, however, is how to force it to default to Bluetooth on incoming call...
I have not seen that issue and I use BT in my car a lot. BB351
Something else that could be the case: Are you listening to music through A2DP bluetooth at the time that the call comes in? It's possible that the transition from A2DP to headset protocol is what is "blocking" the call from going straight to the handsfree?
chaosdefinesorder is correct, you could have a misbehaving music app (or any other app with audio over bluetooth, such as navigation).
I know that PowerAmp and Playerpro both work well with bluetooth with the music stopping when a call comes in.
I was listening to FM radio at the time. When the call ends it always go back to whatever I was listening to.
So next time I should tap the phone button on the radio instead of sliding the button on the phone, apparently.

This was it. I have to answer the head unit, not the phone.
Operator error.
Car: 2012 Toyota RAV4 w/o Nav. head unit
Running AOKP 4.1.2 11.20.2012
Pairing and auto connecting without issue. A2DP audio works fine and meta data transfers if using Google Player.
The problem is that the phone is muted whenever the BT is connected. Notifications for new text messages or alarms can not be heard either from the car's system or the phone unless listening to an A2DP stream and are going totally unnoticed. Turn by turn navigation on the phone is equally useless because of zero audio.
Is there anyway to make the nav directions and other notifications appear to the car as an incoming call and be heard thru the car's system?
I'm not sure if this is a car or phone issue, or both. Maybe the ROM? It works fine in my Dodge Ram, but it does not have A2DP. I would gladly give up A2DP music streaming if the car's system would mute it's music source and push the notifications thru.
I have to get this resolved somehow even if it means a new head unit or phone.
Make sense? Ideas?

Hi all
At work I use bluetooth headphones/headset for CALLS
So I am never wearing the headphones/headset unless I am on a PHONE CALL
My problem is that as bluetooth is connected only the phone call sound is coming from the phone - However none of my notifications are showing
Also bonus question (lol) - When someone calls me when im in a call it cuts me off for 3 seconds while the phone is telling me who is calling, how do I turn that off?
Can someone please help me with these issues
Need help with my Google Pixel 6. When connecting to any Bluetooth speaker or vehicle, the phone itself no longer produces any notification sounds. The notification sounds only come over the Bluetooth speaker sources. Is there any way to make the phone still make the sounds on itself while connected to other Bluetooth devices?
