Trying to Root my Samsung Galaxy tab. - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Forgive me if there is already a thread relating to this but I couldn't find one in the development section, or on YouTube.
I'm kinda confused about rooting my tab because every guide or video seems to be relating to the WiFi version of the tablet. I got mine through Rogers.
I don't have mine on a contract, but I could get a data plan with it. I believe it's 4G.
From what I can see it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-7500R, and below that it says WiFi 16 GB.
Would the guides under development work for my tab? Or am I going to need to use a different method?

[Q] could we take anything from t-mobile tab

I was looking at the t-mobile site today at the galaxy tab for t-mobile. I understand that there are certain things that we are missing because we do not have access to full Froyo vibrant build. I would assume that a Dev has looked into this but maybe not..
Would there be anything that we could take or learn from that operating system on the tab that would help with the vibrant ROM builds to get it closer to stock. drivers ect...
Any ideas on this?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Root [SOLVED]

Alright, so I got a Samsung Galaxy S II LTE I9210, and I want to root it.
This is not the right section of the forum, I know, but its the closest to my device, so meh.
Don't tell me to go search around the forums and google because they are all outdated and I looked through all of them before posting.
All the other posts state that the method out there will break the soft key functions, and that is pretty bad.
Is there any finalized way to do it without the chance of breaking the functionality of the softkeys?
As well as OTA updates, I want to know if there is any ICS builds for this phone released. Where I live, even if you don't have a modified phone/rooted phone, you will not get any OTA updates, any way to find out if you can get the ICS update?
Thanks,
Nicholas

SGH-1757m

Hi,
I recently bought the new Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE SGH 1757M (Bell Canada) and is wondering if using the 1777 ROM (this forum) would be acceptable. I was unable to find a section dedicated to my phone.
Thank you
I would guess if you want to turn your phone into a paperweight, go ahead. But if you need a phone, I wouldn't try it.

i have already successfully rooted in the past (had the galaxy s). But i am also aware, that a slight change could cause error (this is why i am asking). Isn't there any section on this forum dedicated to the new Galaxy S2 LTE?
Your phone model is SGH-I757M. You could have searched, but you can go here as a starting place. Maybe you can find more info around there. BTW, this was the first result from a google search using the terms "sgh-i757m xda"
To make your life easier when searching, it's i757m, not 1757m. Same in here, it's i777, not 1777.
Thanks everyone for your input. case solved.
OP - please take a few minutes in the future, and do some searching. No need for this thread at all.

[Q] Q: How do I root and unlock HSN's Galaxy S2?

I just bought a Galaxy S2 from HSN.com (http://www.hsn.com/products/samsung-galaxy-sii-no-contract-smartphone-t-mobile/1062786 )
and wish to ultimately use Lycamobile on it but I understand that I have to SIM Unlock it. I also understand it comes with 2.3 I believe and I'd like to go to something 4.2.2.
I've seen a lot of threads but I'm confused as to the exact steps that actually WORK TODAY.
I'm used to my Galaxy Nexus so know a little but this seems a bit different.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
What model number is it; what does the sticker on the phone chassis under the battery say ?
The right direction is the T-mobile S2 forum (T989)
This is the I9100's forum, so yeah, you're in the wrong place.
Ask a mod to move this Q over there.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Mega - sprint/tether hotspot block

Hi all,
So this is my first time posting, but I've read up on many posts. Last week, I found a thread here showing how to tether/hotspot my Nexus 5 without rooting. It involved downloading the most recent Android apk file, opening a dos cmd, changing the tether_dun value to zero, and debugging my N5 afterward. Worked like a charm. However, now I cannot find that threat, and I would really like to have that on hand. I've searched, and googled, and for some reason cannot find it. Soooo if anyone has that link or info on hand, could you please post it here?
Also, I'm trying to do the same thing for my dad's Galaxy Mega. We are on Sprint, and he currently has 4.2.2. I am going to wait for the 4.4 to come out for his phone before doing it, but I would like to give him the same hotspot/tethering capabilities without rooting or installing any apps. Is it the same as for my N5 on Kit Kat? Or is there something else I have to be careful of because of all the Samsung software involved?
Please let me know! I google and searched here for about an hour and kept being redirected to Galaxy S4 threads.
