If the volume rocker does not work in recovery it is probably not a ROM issue as recovery loads before the ROM. Could be a hardware issue. If you are comfortable enough with electronics then take the phone apart and clean the contacts.

My Xperia X10i (2.3.3) is working hell slow these days...
i want to make it work as its shown in its Advert. i mean a Fast UI
but the **** happens almost every thirsd time Force Stop Market,browser,etc
Tried Installing Many Task killers,Launchers (Go launcher),n apps like System tuner...
Due the fear of slow working i usually dont play games too on the device bt i seriously want to use this device as best i can...
n Please dont Opt me for Re installing the OS frm Customer Care!
n IF its the Last option then please help me to make the system remain faST after that.

Donuts have root and xrecovery? If u do, go into xrecovery and fix permissions. That should solve ur force close issues

Easiest way is to repair it with pc companion. Install pc companion on Sony Ericsson website, if you don't have it

Go into xrecovery (keep hitting back button when u first turn phone on till it appears) then find fix permissions (I think it on advanced) volume controls scroll up/down, home (middle) button selects. Try that and let me know if it helps

I think you might try custom roms available on developer threat as most of them have the basics tweaks and optimisations. I personally recommend this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16477883 rom for it is easy to understand instruction for newbie. Cheers.

I recommend you sync your contacts with Google sync, back up your stuff with titanium back up free which is on the market. (note after you've flashed the ROM which has a kernel built into the ROM you will need to install titanium back up again to restore all the stuff you backed up)
. It is a very fast and smooth ROM I am using ATM. Okay go into xrecovery by starting your phone up and when you see the Sony Ericsson logo, keep pressing the back button.
Now you're in x recovery Wipe Dalvik cache, Wipe cache partition and do full factory wipe. Then go to install custom zip.

Do a clean install, the cleanest as u can:
01. Format your SD Card
02. Repair x10 in PC Companion
03. Root and instal xrecovery in the newest flash tool
04. Put some rom on Your SD Card (Im using Wolf ver 4.0.4s. Ive tested all roms here and like it the most i could give u some links)
05. Flash it in xrecovery
06. Reboot the fone it should be smooth like hell

Hi, i'v some imprtant question!
The firts one it's how to ceck if bootloader ar done or not.
The second it's the mast important:
"i'v using se bootloader program forum unlock the Sony xperia s, after that I use a program to root the phone, don't remeber the Jake but it's the topic called "root meny droid"
After that I use recoveryX to install a recovery forse Xperia s"
So the question it's:
"how i can flash a cm 9.1 how?"
I'v a room 9.1 nazomi download form the cm site in my sd.
I don't know if i can enter in recovery mode and flash form ther... I don't know if I need a kernerl or what...

if u have CWM (Clockwork MOD) (the one that makes u can go into recovery) u could flash your ROM.
turn off your phone,
turn on, and when the phone vibrates, press volume up rapidly
u will go into recovery
choose install from ZIP
then locate where your ROM.zip file is
then install
NOTE : You must have a kernel that supports CWM recovery

Yup. When u turn on the phone, and it vibrates, press volume up button rapidly.
U can install ROM without changing the kernel.
ROM and kernel are 2 different things.

Here I have got a lupus ics kernel having dual recovery CWM & TWRP
As after flashing this kernel on my stock ics Rom its working great without any freezing of system its really cool one the link for the kernel is https://www.box.com/s/x5m775edeifvpc23i5e9
After flashing your kernel, when you boot your phone you will see a purple light during that time when you press volume down button you will enter in touch interface of TWRP
which is controlled by touch
And when you press power button. after purple led you will enter in regular CWM 6.0 where it is controlled by vol up , vol down button and home key
You have to flash WiFi modules to run WiFi that I will tell you in next post

In my first post I have told about lupus dual recovery kernel but after that your WiFi won't work :thumbup:
But that is not a big deal just flash WiFi module and a tlan zip via recovery( cheer up now you have two recoveries )

You've probably had a solution to your problem, but just for anyone else with this problem, check out a pc app, windows to be specific, called "apk installer" .I'm pretty sure it will help.
Goolauncher is a better alternative besides CWM. It is a browser for custom roms and a installer all in one!
I use it and when it is in recovery (Teamwin) you can leave your phone on the charger!
It is very solid and stable.
I use it every time when I update my Cyanogenmod!

Mine boots up but the display hangs up after loading the default wallpaper, I can unlock the screen, change brightness turn on USB debugging having memorized the control locations on the screen BUT all behind the wallpaper. It's d5, any luck?

Well, just dwonload a rom on your pc (can be stock firmware too) then plug your phone into your pc, and navigate the file into the root of your phone. Reboot your phone into recovery mode (VOLUME U P+POWER+HOME) and select the file to boot, BAM yout device should work properly again now

How exactly doe it hang? When you lock the screen and unlock it, can you successfilly interact with the notificstion bar?

You can hear the lock sound, see the screen brightness changing But you won't see the UI. All you can see is he wallpaper. So obviously am blindly interacting with the controls having memorized their locations.
