Thanks, I have tries this one before. I push to system/app and fix permissions, but it won't change. I have deleted the old mms.apk and it never changes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Trainrider try putting a COPY in data\app as well as system\app
Not working for me, I put in both places and fixed permissions. Anyone else have differant results>?
so whats the problem? is it giving you a force close or error when you open it? Or it's not showing up in apps at all?

hmm, when you copied to folders did it ask to replace existing? I pulled that out of Gassadena I think, standby I'll post Glasstopia, see if that works
I tried ones from both Glassadena and Glasstopia. I am overwriting the old and have tried both of these twice. Last shot - I wiped Dalvik to see if that would make a differance. I also used root explorer and searched for all instances of MMS on my phone and didnt find anything hiding anywhere else Damn this MMS it is hard to work with!
Yeah i don't know what to tell you, never had that much trouble. This might eork might not, go into glassadena or glasstopia zip and see if there is a copy in data and one in system, if so maybe move both to your corresponding folder? long shot but at least then you'll know if you need a copy in both, because if it has one in both then you know you do too
So I'm sure a good majority all ready know. But ROM toolbox has a root explorer built into it in the latest edition, and that is included in the free edition as well. Plus it allows you to set the scaling governor and cpu sliders, along with some other little nifty tweaks. So if you haven't checked it out, I would.
Thanks, nice find.
Not a problem.

Conflict b/n Rom Toolbox and Rom Manager
Can anyone offer a suggestion on where I should go to find out why I'm having a conflict between Rom Toolbox Pro and Rom Manager/Clockworkmod?
I'm having it with both UnNamed 1.2 and CM7 7.1. I can't do anything like backing up or installing roms because Rom Manager is blocking everything unless I buy the paid version of Rom Manager...what's up?
Thanks in advance and sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

I don't use ROM manager but when I was on home base it had ROM manager and I had no conflicts. Have you tried any other ROM's?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Likewise. I've tried LCD densities between 200-264. I noticed anything over 240 changes the way the weather widget displays. Unfortunately at this time we can only change the min frequency on CPU slot 4 per developer. Additional profiles for the remaining slots are being considered, however I think the developer wants to see greater interest for the same first?

I flashed CleamROM Kang Tablet Edition to my Rezound. I LOVE it and its a great daily rom BUT everytime i go to changed my keyboard in the settings, it force closes. Please help. Anyone know another way i can change my keyboard to go keyboard or smart keyboard?!?
Also anybody know of any security apps to lock the phone COMPLETELY?! Everytime i go to set a pattern or pin lock it force closes!
Usually when you get force closes you should fix app permissions. So since I do not know of another way. I would suggest that you fix your permissions in amon ra then retry. Other than that I have no help but I think that you should at least try that. Good luck and I hope you can find another way or the permissions fix works.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
it didn't work :/
Did you fix permissions in amon ra. And also check to see if any other sections to the settings app are killing themselves. And did you say you are using the tablet version of the Rom for a resound.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Another idea would be trying to use an app link to go to the settings like when I used use swiftkey it would automaticallly send me to settings. Some times when you kill.the app and do that you have enough time to get into settings before it kills itself. Just a suggestion.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
After rereading your post more closely I would recommend that you change Rom you can get security applications but if.you are having an array of problems.with the system settings app then I would recommend changing to the last stable version of tha Rom.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
nope ): still not working.. someone told me to change the "dpi" (whatever that is).. but idk how...
Oh to do thavyou can get an app called Rom toolbox in the android.. er play store. You go to the build props tweaks and you can edit from there I think that the default is 320 but I've never edited it before and I don't know whether.you should raise or lower. Just by looking at the number is say its safe to assume that you should raise by 10 then test then lower by 20 in other words 320,330,310
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
okay.. on the tablet edition of cleanROm the dpi is 192 though.
Try 320 that is stock rezound 192 seems awfully low.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Maybe go there with incriments and reboot between each change.

thank youuuuu!!! i changed it to 280, did what i had to do, then back to 192..
much thanks!

So, I am unlocked, rooted, and have the unsecure kernel installed. I'm having trouble modifying my build.prop though. I've tried pushing a modified build.prop through ADB while in recovery, but the changes don't take. Any suggestions?
Never mind. Solved my own problem. Not sure which did the trick, but I mounted System in TWRP, pushed my file, and then did a CHMOD 755 from TWRP on the file... That worked. Yay!
What did you change in the build. prop?
I am trying to get google wallet to work.

I was only changing the LCD Density. But my difficulty was just in getting the file modifications to stick, so if all you are trying to do is make a change, the above method will make it stick.

Yes something with the phone won't allow to write to the system even with root. So mounting system in twrp is the only way until s-off.
Try deleting the current build.prop then push the new one. I've heard that works.

Did your LCD Density modifications work? If so, is this to make the resolution smaller on the screen? I hate how big the font and everything is even when the font is set to 'Small'
I'm also interested to hear if you were successfully able to modify the build.prop and change the density. I love this screen but it almost looks like an HDTV with a PC plugged in running at 648x480 resolution!

Yes, it worked. The precise steps are as follows:
Copy your build.prop to a location where you can edit it and locate the ro.sf.lcd_density entry. The default value is 480. I have mine set to 370. The lower the number, the smaller your text. Save this file to your computer.
Boot into Recovery.
Within Recovery, mount the System partition. In TWRP, this is under the "Mount" button.
Use ADB to push the modified file into the system partition. You don't need to delete the existing build.prop first. From you command prompt on your computer, this would be "adb push 'file path/name of modified file' /system/build.prop".
I don't know if this step is required, but I used TWRP's file manager to browse to the system\build.prop file, and then ran CHMOD 755 on it.
Reboot into Android, and the new changes should have taken effect.

No, and that's where I'm impressed with the latest Sense. It handles the adjustment much better than prior versions. It maintains its scaling in a lot of places despite my DPI changes - which preserves the integrity of its layout at the expense of taking advantage of the new DPI. And I'm okay with that, because it means I can keep the components I like without any "weird visual issues" and still use other apps that scale appropriately.
Had to bring it back up. I have changed my density, and I love it. but I noticed that not everything is scaled down. Is this the case for those of you that have successfully done this as well?
I have noticed that the htc messaging app, keyboard and the pulldown notification menu is not resize.
Also apps like the flashlight app in the CODIS rom is skewed as well as other apps.
Is this a problem that can be corrected or just have to deal with it?

My concern was a few apps not resizing. See screenshots

I saw this being requested so thought id help. Freeze or rename the tw browser with .bak. Then flash in recovery wipe cache/dalvik, and then reboot. Obviously, back up your stuff first.
Edit: You can add the browser to Multi-Window manually by going to /system/csc/feature.xml and edit the multi window settings to include com.android.browser. Listed below is how the end of mine appears, if you don't have the multi window string you can just add it before the end as I did.
<!-- Multi Window -->
<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>com.android.browser<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeature>
Flash content may not work if you don't have the latest version, you can find it here just download the latest version under 'Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives' and install

Just a small visual glitch I found. When I click the menu button while the app is running the option for searching on the page reads as "No SIM card in phone."
Using the option runs displays the search box and it works normally.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the quick controls in Labs to be more responsive. It's as if the pixel activation width is set extremely thin. Could be due in part to our screens resolution I suppose and more pixels being in less space. Thanks for the mod, op.

Thanks, and yes you're absolutely right, sorry, I should probably have mentioned that in the OP. The reason I requested everyone rename/freeze the touchwiz browser was a precaution. If you look at the updater script it contains the following code within it:
"delete("/system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk");
unmount("/system");"
And if you look in the zip, you'll notice theres 3 system apps being pushed to /system/app
1. ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk
2. BrowserProviderProxy.apk.bak
3. Browser.apk
So the renaming part is already done, if anyone wants to re-enable the tw browser to use alongside of the Aosp Browser, the only steps required are either to unfreeze the tw browser or renaming the .bak back to .apk at the end of the file.
