New app for increase volume ALSAMIXER - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I found this through the CALLRECORDER app called AlsaMixer seems like its working nice on my current unofficial rom....I also have installed volume+....But this seems to make increases on every spectrum, .check it out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.alsamixer
Tell me what you guys think, I'm playing now with the settings its hard to set.. any feedback or setups would be a great help....

Thanked.
Checking it out now!
edit: This looks confusing lol which setting would make the speaker louder overall? Like on games and everything.

I know right...I think the overall volume one.. I set it to1-100 I put 30...man this crushes any app I've used for volume....my incall volume is even louder...I wish I had a guide to a setup or something....for now its just trial and error

How is this app working out now that its been a few days?

I downloaded it, but I have no clue what to use to make ringtones and text tones louder. Anyone?

Device_volume I put 30 in that field it seems to increase a lot so far....! Still haven't messed with any other values except for the self explanatory ones...and I know it works...also still have volume+ installed as well...but that's what I think are phone was missing those alsamixer files...kinda like how audio booster puts a modded soundbooster file in the system.. this adds all of them on every aspect

So you put plain old 30 in the Device Volume.
Did you have to check the set on reboot and reboot to hear the difference?
Any other tweaks that worked?

thank you .. dig the find

OK...set it to 40...I originally had it at 30 and didn't hear much of a difference.

for me text messages are truly to low. need to find the setting for that one when I get home to my phone

ok i set my device_volume to 40 apply to boot...also i have volume+ speaker settings>volume level at 7,,then go to in call settings. and say you have root to get the root access command then back out.....this phone cant get any louder without distortion, when i get a text i can hear it in the basement now...lol.

I tried with and without the app

Alsomixer and volume+ last pic system volume speakers set to good quality and to 7...

Volume Booster? Not media

I"m looking for a volume booster that will make ring tones and the like louder, not the music (that's plenty loud)...but I guess I have a hard time hearing and it seems like text/ring/notification/email tones are all very quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up.
Anyone? Also running ICS.
I think there's LITERALLY an app called, "volume booster" XD check it out man!

I thought it was only me having that issue. I have a new Motorola elite and the Jawbone era and I can barely hear the ring notification on my headsets. When I answer everything is loud and clear. I'll try the DSP apk as well and I'll post something if I find a fix. It's the same whether I'm on ICS or any of the collective roms.

Just curious did you root your phone or alter the ROM? On the free version it gives a warning not to download if you are using a stock rom or Kernel. I am stock just wanted to make sure.

Does it increase the in-call volume when using the handset? If so, how did you do it? I can't get it to increase mine.
Can't get it to increase anything, and I did make it the main volume control app.

How would one remove the volume limiter on stock rom?

The Samsung galaxy note seems to limit the available volume because of safety reason. I found a post that removes the volume limit for call volume but I need it for music volume
I've tried everything that people have suggested. The only thing that worked was using an equalizer from the market and then using an application other than the stock music player (like power-amp) to listen to music. Unfortunately this doesn't sound that great as even at small equalizer gain values it seems to degrade the sound quality and ultimately at higher gains distorts. Sadly even after rooting and running non-stock ROM's I can't seem to boost the audio values.
In most headphones and auxiliary ports the phones volume is quite good through the mini-jack. However, my work truck is awful and it needs to be boosted and maxed when streaming internet radio to even have a moderately loud listening volume.

Volume+ app by Meltus worked for me on the Unofficial ROM -- at least I think it did. Maybe it was just the EQ settings that did it?
Can you point me to the post that removes the volume limit for call volume? That's exactly what I need!
Same here. Call volume is pretty quiet on GB, or ICS.

This is a little silly, but have you both made sure you're actually lining up the speaker with your ear when you're talking on the phone? The phone is so big that it didn't line up the same as smaller phones. I notice quite a bit of difference when I adjust the speaker to line up directly with my ear.

Greater control of sound / audio / volume? I want quieter notifications -minor update

There seems to only be 7 steps for volume on the S3. I've found that the lowest setting for notifications is still quite loud in a quiet setting. Is there anyway I can make it quieter without resorting to using quieter notification sounds?
I'm coming from a Droid 3 and the lowest setting was perfect, it was just loud enough for me to hear at my desk without it bothering others.
Now I have to keep my S3 on vibrate at work, and it's annoying for me because I never seem to hear/feel the vibration.

Do you mean Volume Control + by Coffeebreak Apps? (sorry can't post links yet) I tried that but it has the same limitations as the stock settings, just 7 predefined steps.
Or do you mean Volume+ (Volume Boost) by Meltus? I don't see how that app would help but I guess I'll try it.
Thanks.
Update: I installed Volume+ from androidaudiohacks dot com. I changed the levels to the lowest setting on everything and it made no difference to the notification volume :-\

I've tried a couple dozen different apps but they all seem to be tied directly to the same system settings that can't make it any quieter. If you happen to know of a specific one that might I would love to hear it (if you have the time that is, I'm not trying to inconvenience you)
There is a setting in build.prop. you can set it up to 20. Can't remember its name tho

Hmm really? It lowered the volume of your notification sounds? My hearing is average, it's just that it didn't actually lower the sound for me. Perhaps I did something wrong? I'll try again later tonight and see if that is the case.
I'm also looking for a quieter volume setting. I'm surprised how loud the ringtone and notifications are at the quietest setting.
I suppose rooting and getting a custom rom might be the way to achieve this but having already bricked one S3 I'm a bit wary about diving right back into the pool! But if someone happens to find a ROM that gives more volume control let me know!
Volume Rocker?
Are you turning the notification volume down with the volume rocker? I just realized that the notification volume does not match the ringer volume as you adjust it with the volume rocker. On my Evo 4G I could check a box that made them adjust up and down at the same time. On the GS3 I have to press the volume rocker then press the settings button that is visible in the ringer volume pop up. From there I can adjust the notification volume independantly.
It does however mute the notifications when the ringer is set to vibrate or mute.
Can someone build that into a ROM? Where the notification and ringer volume go up and down together?

No I use a widget (Widgetsoid) that lets me change the two independently. If I wanted to I could check the box at the top (see attached screenshot) and then the volume rocker would adjust both at once.
I never had any luck getting Volume+ to alter the volume of my notifications.

Are you mistaking the notification level for system level? System sounds kill my ears, and I actually have to adjust it through Settings > Sound > Volume. Looks like Widgetsoid might be an easier method, instead of going through settings every time. Also, I set a schedule in the Timeriffic app, so that it's ever too loud for me anymore.

Well, I thought I made some progress on this.
As you can see from the attachment, I did get there to be more steps. I had to make some adjustments to framework.jar to get it to change.
BUT, it doesn't do much good.
For the ringer volume steps 9-17 are silent. 8 is the loudest. 18 is the quietest..
For the notification volume, step 1 is still just as loud as before, and steps 8-15 are silent, so that was completely pointless. I'll edit the framework to have ringer and notifications be 30 to see if that does anything. It's really a crapshoot of what I'm editing, there are no descriptions just hex characters.

[Q] Ringtones & Notification Sounds Tied Together

I've had two HTC devices before the DNA, so I am a little frustrated that HTC decided to link the ringtone and notification sound control. I want to turn off notification sounds. Does anyone know if that's possible? I tried downloading some volume control apps, and it appears that HTC has disabled, or overridden, the ability to control the ringtone and notification volumes separate.
The decision to tie the ringtone and notification volumes together is bugging me after just one day with the device.
Thanks!
Haven't used this but Sound Profile in Google Play looks like an option.

If you want to disable notification sounds altogether, have you thought about simply using a silent MP3 or OGG file as the notification sound?

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the app didn't work. I've tried five other apps, and nothing seems to separate the ringtone, notification, and system volumes. This is very frustrating. I am building a Pro/Con list on the DNA during the 14-day return period. This notification sound problem will be added to the "Con" side of the list.

I hadn't. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm all for finding fixes to problems, but it still bugs me that separating the volume, or offering "silence" as an option is not default.

When I'm in the Audio Control app, the ringtone and notification sounds are still connected. I don't see a way to break them into separate control bars/sliders.
I believe this was changed in either ICS. At the system level, there is now only one volume setting for both ringer and notifications. You used to have the option to "link" or "unlink" them, but now they're just rolled into one setting.
I found this app called ICS Enhanced Ringer Ctrl which seems to be working, but it's a little hokey. I haven't used it a whole lot yet but it seems to be working so far. It's a paid app, but it has a 48 hour trial. Search for it on the Play Store and you should find it.
Here is a link to the online instructions. You can also see this same info when you hit Menu> Tutorial on the phone.
http://www.mobiletrialware.com/applications/audiocontrol/
I've just spent a few moments testing it (I hadn't fully set it up yet on my DNA) and while the volume levels seem separate, when I turn the notification volume to zero, it turns everything to zero. But when I turn Ringer volume to zero, and Notifications to something else, it works perfectly.
I've emailed the developer to see where I might have something not set up right.
UPDATE: Here is what he said:
In Android 4.0 Google decided that the OS was too complicated and tried to slim things down. One of the bad side effects of this move was merging the ringer and notification volumes. This means that all notifications and phone calls use the same volume levels. Lots of users (myself included) did not like the change and so I attempted to come up with a way to mimic the ringer volume. So in Audio Control the "Notification Volume" is the "Ringer/Notification Volume" it controls both the ringer and notification volumes. All I'm doing is changing the "Ringer/Notification Volume" when phone calls occur to the "Custom Ringer Volume."
This was asked over at AC forums, I think by the same person, from what I'd gathered there were some apps that tied it together, the guy modified 5 apps and I believe were able to have them independant, one was google mail... check the thread there for more info

Defective speaker

Hi guys, today I just bought a used Sony Z2, and unfortunately the bottom speaker makes some cracking and popping noises when the music is loud.
Can I change something like a balance in the phone settings so when I listen something (YouTube, music, ringtone) on the speakers the bottom speaker recives lower decibels, so I won't hear those cracking noises, while the upper speaker works at full potential?
Help would be much appreciated.
PS: for headphones I would like the balance to remain untouched.
THANKS.

I'm flashing it as we speak.
LE: nope, still that cracking noise. If i let the volume around 60% everything is fine, if I rise it higher, that sound comes from the bottom speaker. I need to find a way to reduce just the bottom speaker volume, while using the full capacity of the top one.

Its need to change in these four files.
go to system / etc / tfa98xx
and find these four files
1- HiFiSpeakerRing_btm.eq
2- HiFiSpeakerRing_btm.preset
3- HiFiSpeakerRing_top.eq
4- HiFiSpeakerRing_top.preset
And you also need to change so much values in mixer_paths.xml can't tell right now i did not test them.
Or

what can I use to open and edit the .eq and .preset files?
@zohaib0001
hei, I tried to play with various values from the mixer_pathx.xml, but nothing seems to work.
I changed my mind and I thought that if its possible to rise up the volume, it should be possible to lower it down right?
so, could you point me which lines from mixer_paths.xml determine the volume for the external speakers in all situations (ringtone, playback, speakerphone) so I could lower thrm down, so I won't have any problem at high volume.
Thank you!
