I've tried searching, but haven't found an answer, so here we go,
when I use the voice dialer to call someone that's already in my phonebook, it dials and calls properly, but if I try to call a place such as autozone or any other business by just saying, "call autozone," it finds the number and tries to call it but it puts a + in front of the phone number and never goes through. I have to end the attempt at calling and go back and edit the number to remove the + from it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm running cm7x2 and haven't changed any performance settings.
Thanks, Curt
EDIT: it works now after a couple resets and sbfs later

Has anyone noticed that when you put a pound key (#, aka number symbol, octothorpe etc) in a contact's number, it doesn't work? I.e. the # dtmf tone is not sent when you call the number, while other tones are sent properly.
For example, I set my voicemail number to *86,,5555# (the 5555 part is just for illustration, and should be filled in with the voicemail pin)
Whenever my phone calls voicemail, it says "Sending Tones 5555" but it doesn't mention the #, and I can tell that the # tone is not sent, because the voicemail system waits a few seconds after the password is sent, which is exactly what it does when I dial it manually and neglect to press #. When I do press pound manually, the system continues immediately without a pause.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or has anyone else been able to sucessfully send the # key?
hi, i haven't had this happen personally, but would puting space between the password and the # give the sytem time to receive it.? don't know if it will but i never had this happen either.hope this helps. hp
I don't think you can add spaces, but I added a comma (which indicates a pause) after the pin. That didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though.
##7764726(spc=000000) and *#*#4636#*#* are hidden menus so the # may be handled special.
I actually noticed this today when I was trying to get through a damn automated menu. It kept asking me to hit the # key after things but kept telling me "Invalid Entry". I literally used every other button, to include * during the call and everything else worked. This is no bueno!
What version of Android and what Rom(if any) are you running? I am on 2.3.4 w/Eclipse v1.1
Thanks, AtLemacks, It's nice to know someone else has experienced the same thing (misery loves company I guess).
I'm using the same android version and ROM that you are. But I'm pretty sure I had the problem even back when I was using using P3Droid's Rooted Gingerbread without any ROM. I don't remember if I tried it when I was on stock Froyo.
I didn't have this problem before, I call/go through that menu fairly often.
did anyone figure it out?
I am suffering the same problem. Did anyone ever figure out how to send pound sign #?
Try a alternate dialer like Dialer One or the like.
Edit try voicemail *86, the # key skips to the next msg on my Milestone x2 port.
Found a solution
Found a solution, not sure if everyone can use it. I am using Motorola Photon with Sprint. My solution is to create a contact like this for google voice dial out
15125553010,,2,3235551110,#,,,1234,0118521234567,#
and it works for me. I can now use a direct dial icon on my home screen to call. The trick is the first pound sign. It needs comma before the pound sign and the three comma behind it.
Anybody else find a work around?
I am glad to hear that I am not alone, but a little dismayed to not see any answers to my days of searching for a solution. Has anyone else come up with an alternative work around? The direct dial method above didn't work for me.
Using a Galaxy S i9000 rooted with paranoid android 2.52 (although I did have this same problem with other mods as well)
Thanks!
I put a post up for this and it seems like no one replied. So I am wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this. I have it setup with sipbri it allows me to have my google voice account on sipbri and it lets me make calls but anytime I try to call all I get is my voice mail after it rings so many times. Am I doing something wrong or is it that the recieving calls part doesn't work right on Inferior Human Organs Cyanogen Mod 7.1?
Anybody? Well I actually got it working not sure what the issue was. I have a different rom it is CM7.1.0.1-VM670-BobZhome-111311 and it appears to be working fine. I just had to make a call on the internet call then after that I tried to call the number and I recieved it each time I called it. Seems like I have little to no delay either as people I talk to respond to me fine and can understand me fine.
Hey guys,
I'm with Vodafone (Australia) and lately I've been working in my garage a fair bit where I don't have reception. During this time numerous people have called me, however I don't receive any notifications of missed calls at all. And when I go into phone log it doesn't show any call logs.
Is this a setting on the phone or should I contact Vodafone to get this sorted?
Cheers
Good question Jonno. I'm also with Voda & honestly couldn't remember if this feature was working properly or not as I haven't missed a call for ages (people know not to call me at unsociable hours when I have the phone switched off ).
Soooo...I plonked my mobile broadband sim into my Nokia backup phone, turned my SGS2 to flight mode (to mimic not having coverage), called it from the Nokia & let it ring half a doz times then hung up.
Switched the SGS2's radio back on & haven't received a missed call notification (it's been almost 5 minutes). I've searched high & low thru my call settings & can't find anything that would turn such a feature on/off so I'm betting it's a network related thing. I'll update this post if the missed call notification comes thru at any stage tonight.
Yeah I've never got any missed call notifications with the phone. I have people trying to get on to me regarding some recent job applications so it's not very useful if I miss their calls and don't know who to call back!
Might try calling Voda tomorrow to see if they know anything about it...
Jonno...The thick plottens
I was ferreting around in the dialer/call settings & had a look at the call forwarding settings. Basically, forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable is set to that Voda number people who try to call you get when you don't answer & it asks whether you want Voda's "call catcher" to txt the person you're try to call to let them know they missed your call (with the number to call back on).
When I try to disable this feature on any of busy/unanswered/unreachable it tells me the network doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. So it seems Voda thinks their way of people being able to notify you by txt when you miss their call is the best way (only way by the looks of it) for this situation to be handled.
So I'd say people obviously haven't been choosing the option to send you a notification txt (via Voda's call catcher) and have simply been hanging up when they've been unable to reach you.
I guess the only way to get around this is to tell people to use the send notification txt option or to simply send you a txt themselves to say they tried to call & couldn't get you.
Unless you want to have fun calling Voda's uber helpful support ?
Hi everyone:
I have google voice setup as the voicemail box, no problem
I however, use GV for international calls from the United States and I cannot for the life of me get it to work.
Regardless of the settings I use in GV for making calls:
Use GV to make all calls, do not use gv, only for international or ask everytime I call.
When I go to the dialer to make my call...I dial the number, hit the dial button, then nothing happens. The dialer is still open, hitting back does nothing, hitting setting does nothing. I can still hit the numbers and the numbers will show up, but doesn't look through history or contacts.
It seems like GV is just not intercepting the calls out or doesn't launch. I've tried reinstalling GV, tried reverting back to an older version. No dice.
Has anyone seen a problem with this or have a work around?
Regards,
MWC
I've had this issue for a long time now, I can't figure out why this is happening, when someone dials my google number, both the dialer applications ring, the google dialer and hangouts dialer.
Under Handgouts Dialer i do have "Incoming phone calls" checked, I also see both my numbers listed under confirmed phone numbers.
Any ideas? I can't find anything about this anywhere.

You wrote that you have the "incoming phone calls" box checked in Hangouts but are complaining that it's ringing through Hangouts… Is that what you meant to write?
What's the end result you're looking for?
If you don't want your phone to ring when someone calls your GV number (i.e., as a forwarded call) you should still be able to turn it off in the GV settings on a desktop browser. I'm still new to the board, so I can't post links yet. google/com/voice/#phones
Hope that helps.
Yea, i didn't want my google phone number to ring my android dialer, i went to https://www.google.com/voice/#phones and found the option to forward calls to, and my telecom number was listed there to forward to, i turned it off and it fixed the problem.
Thank! - This fixed it!.
