Hey everyone..
Trying to figure out if I got a bad unit or not.. here's a screenshot of my battery life
I'm running ZERO Widgets. And no live wall papers
The only thing giving me notifications even is Facebook.
My screen brightness is 40% and I have Bluetooth turned off.
I saw a post where the Guy said he was on like 85 brightness and his battery life was great..mine doesn't seem.to great...is something wrong?
PS I'm on the. 84 leak.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
How long had the screen been on in that picture?
If that's a regular Razr, you're doing fine. If it's a Maxx... turn off Facebook background sync
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Its the Max. I mean will I still get notifications? Is this normal to just turn everything off like this with a 3200 mah.battery?
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
I don't use Facebook. I use friend caster pro. I get 5+ hours screen on time w my maxx. I would only guess a regular RAZR should get 2 1/2-3 hours screen on time. Sync and data always on and auto brightness
Wow dude that's amazing ...

Use battery indicator. You may have more than you think. Do u have a maxx?
Yeah I have a Maxx

To give u an idea I spent all day yesterday on 4g/3g and had 0 issues. On bread I had near the same. You look likecu have a runaway program. Try to get in the habit of hitting back instead of home. Maybe it will help. If u flash the 84 leak set background processes to 4 max and it should help. On top of disabling as manyxaps as you dontcuse

Yeah! BadAzz!
3 plus days without charging and i was still at 19% prob could of when 4 days but i needed it charged Enjoy
facebook... 23%... there's your problem. facebook is a known destroyer of battery life. This is with plenty of use on 4G:

I am getting pretty much the same battery life as the OP. I thought it was defective hardware or something. Perhaps I just have runaway apps draining my battery.

I say this post about an idle smart action.
Triggers
Display off
Not charging
Motion detector
Actions
Bluetooth off
GPS off
Background sync off
Mobile data off
Wifi off
I set up the rest of my smart action roles to prevent a conflict with this. I could provide details later if you would like.
With these settings i get well over a day on the original razr.
I still get phone calls and texts.
When the phone is just sitting there, I'm on the PC any way when I'm working or at home, so i don't need email.
Once i pick the phone up it syncs up and fetches my email.
I also use a force sync widget created with extended controls to sync my device at will.
I get roughly 48 hours from the OG razr.
Just sharing my experience.

Unplugged at almost 7am and with about 150 texts, 10-15 phone calls, and data use throughout the day I've achieved almost 15 hours today..
Pretty stoked. Display, phone calls, on OS took up about 20% of the battery each. With about only the last 4-5 hours connected to wifi.
So it is possible guys!

Sorry for the delay guys. I forgot I posted this haha. Well if you keep those actions around the 20% mark that I mentioned you will average 12-15 hours.
The screen kills a ton of battery. So lower the brightness and minimalize use until you need it. Not even turning it on to check the time.
One action that I noticed that uses a ton of battery in the background is the social location app.. of you don't force stop or freeze the app it sucks about 8-14% battery throughout the day

With 4g enabled, medium use (some surfing, a few youtube videos) and just a few short phone calls I get 13 hours at the 20% mark.
I don't even know the length of battery life on mine as I'm always moving it from car to car to home and back and when it's in the car it's always on the charger in the car mount. So the charge is always up and down. Whenever I need to take it somewhere without a charge for any length of time though I'll use taskmanager and shut everything down that isn't needed so I can stretch it as far as possible.

Get yourself an Anker Slim Talk battery pack ($27 from Amazon). Attach it to the back of the phone when needed using industrial strength adhesive Velcro. It fits there perfectly and the two together are about the thickness of a Rezound. Plugs straight into the micro usb slot with a built in short stretch cord and you're charging without missing a beat. Strip it off when your charge is solid. Believe me, this is a perfect solution to battery anxiety.

We don't have 4G in the UK so that might well be the basis of this. I've always had a taste for the esoteric and phones like the Moto Razr and Galaxy S2 Skyrocket aren't popular over here (latter isn't even available). For a phone (smart or otherwise), battery life of less than 24hrs simply isn't acceptable!

Yes, I am talking about people in the UK.
I Mine runs 12 - 15 hours and I'm at 20-30 percent. I've set up some smart actions to conserve battery life with success. One funny thing I noticed though was that when you setup a battery triggered smart action you have the choice of 25%, 35% etc. but the indicator only show 20%, 30% etc.
Anyway compared to my old HTC Desire HD the batterylife of the RAZR is superior!

Agreed on all counts. Even with heavy use I can make it through the entire day and only be down to 30-40% when I charge it for the night.
Sike ....I stream Pandora at work and in two. Hours I am at 30%....strictly Pandora with my screen off....on 3g but with good coverage ...
hmm I use Jango and Tunein radio pro alot during the day along with calls and text. Plus I check out pulse and visit some forums on tapatalk and such and my battery life is great.
When you first got the phone did you let it drain all the way down the first couple of times before charging it? Not saying thats the problem, just heard and read alot about doing that helping battery life.
That is an old wives tale... or at least it is now. Older batteries definitely had "memory", the newer ones like in our Razr's - not so much.
Probably, but I did it anyway. Kind of like when you pick up a new performance car, you are not supposed to go WOT for long periods till 300-500 miles on the clock. It probably won't matter much, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.
I've installed "data on demand" from market, data and background sync is depended to screen on/off now & my battery life with a normal usage is more than 30hrs, love it

Really, guys? I assume that was in 3G all the time, right?
How many data you guzzled everyday (in MB) in term of emails, messagings, browsings, markets, etc, etc? i spent 2.5GB out of my 3GB quota every month which averaged to 70-90MB everyday for those activities. And my SGS II can only survive 10 hours at the maximum That even after i claimed the old battery and replaced with the new one (luckily for free by Samsung)
I seriously considering this RAZR blade, would you think it will slive my SGS2 battery life in two....?
Unfortunately only the XT910 GSM/HSDPA available here, no LTE in sightings...

It's gotta be directly proportional to the network type then. Let's take a poll to see if the GSM or CDMA version do better with battery life.
I have the CDMA razr on Verizon & routinely get 18+ hrs of battery life with 2 push email accts, Facebook & twitter syncing every hour & 9 Widgets that have to update periodically. I use the battery extender smart action and have some of the services on the auto-end list of the stock task manager.

What did you guys do to get such awesome battery stats? I'm running a rooted stock ROM (Asia) with the supercharger scripts from zepplinrox. My battery life is pathetic. I dont know if i just have a bad battery in my phone but ive had it about a week now. No matter how much i use it even if i dont use it at all i can pull it off the charger at 7am and by 1030 or eleven its dead. Ive tried multiple roms to see if it helped but nothing. So my question is do droid x batteries work for this phone too? Ive been searching amazon for extended batteries and it seems like most are for droid x but some say that they are for both. Also does anyone else experince this? With the way the battery is on 2.3.4 i go from full to 15 percent out of nowhere. Im hoping an extened battery will at least allow me to get a full day of work out of it. If someone could link me to a good battery theat they have used that would be great too. Thanks.
Are you heavily calling, texting, gaming, etc during the time your phone's battery is rapidly gaming? Do you have your brightness turned all the way up? Do you allow account synching in the background? All of these are the main causes of battery drain, though they shouldn't drain it quite that quickly. You could very well have a bad battery. Try downloading app/widget battery left, charge up to 100%, and check the voltage on the battery. If less than 4.2 volts, it could mean a battery issue. However even if at 4.2, I can't gaurentee battery health.
Yes, Droid X batteries do in fact work for our phones. I'm actually using the Trident Electra case and battery meant for the X. I highly recommend it, I love the battery life (3 or so days without charging) and the protection the case offers.
Hope I could help!
Yea I hardly use ny phone for calls. And text. Mainly emails and just browsing the forums from time to time. But I manually sync my accounts. Just for this reason. But I have nevr seen anything like this. I have battery minored widget pro voltage is fine the graphs are hilarious to look at since the phone will go from 100 to 93 then drop knew by one to 80 then it drops to 47 and with a half hour of that its at fifteen and as soon as the low battery indicator comes on I hit ok and a minute later its dead.
Well hopefully problem solved ordered a two battery combo with wall charger. 3500mah

They use the same battery. Have you tried calibrating? Charge to 100% then go to spare parts> battery info> then battery voltage. What is it?
Tapin' the Talk on the xSquared
What frequency do you have your email to check. If you have your email on push then the battery will die a lot faster also. I can kill my battery in 4 hours with non stop use. Orbit baby's it 15 he's has been my best. And yea the x and x2 use same battery my spare is from my Droid x and they are the same part number.

I've been having the same issue on my att galaxy s3. I think there is a bug possibly when the phone is having issues maintaining a data connection. I always know when I am going to have an issue b/c the phone will stay warm even when I'm not using the phone. The only solution I have found is to turn off mobile data. Restarting the phone every day seems to help as well. There are a few other threads from people having the same issue. I'm guessing it's the data connection connecting and disconnecting over and over again. Cell standby will usually show up as taking up the most battery life.

Unfortunately the lte does drain your battery. So does the keyboard vibrating with every click. Get a app that with shut down background apps when your screen is off and temporally disable data. Works for me since I usually have at least 10 to 12 apps running that I forget to turn off.

If you're using widgets that auto sync like fb, weather etc. By default they're set to sync every hour. The first day I got my phone I got 4 hours screen time and about 17 hours total on the battery, but I didn't have any widgets running. after I started running fb and weather it went to 1 hour screen time and about 9 hours total on the battery. Google+ was the main juice guzzler.

AT&T lte is not a huge battery drain in my experience. Your battery usage is not normal so you either have a bunch of social media going crazy all the time or some rogue apps preventing deep sleep. Try using better battery stats to see if you can track things down.
Also forcing Wi-Fi to not use power save is s big drain did you do that? *#0011# menu Wi-Fi

My drain was the same as his the very first day I had my phone (before I installed any apps).

I had very bad battery life too on my first S3. Luckily I hard bricked it and got a new one right away. since it was only one week after the date of purchase they gave me a new one right in the store (Telus). This second one has amazing battery life with my same consumption. I find it weird too. about 30 hours with wifi and lte on and still got 24% left on it.

I've tried the wap.cingular apn and it wasn't significant change at all for me. YMMV.
Has anyone on this thread ever drained the battery completely and charge it back to 100%? It might help.

That's strange. Think I should exchange mine? I've had it 2 days.

Hey guys please help. I barely use my phone and the battery still drains very quickly. If I charge it up to 100% before I go to sleep and then unplug it, by morning it is at 50%. The only sync option I have on is Gmail mail. I have 4G and wifi on but I really doubt those are killing my battery. In the time it took me to type this message I lost 2%. I can't live like this! Suggestions?
Ps for the first 2 or 3 days that I had my phone the battery life was fine. No issues.

I also notice the abnormal Cell Standby consumption, it actually happens after I added my Outlook corporate email, with ActiveSync enabled. After I seting the sync option to every 1hr instead of ActiveSync, it went back to normal.
See if it helps you too. Good Luck.
